I am a major developer of the Chromebleed Extension. Permissions needed have been improved. The code is open source and you can see that no private information is being accessed.

Earlier Fixes:
Fix status icon on popup change.
Starts check once url is "loading".
Updates the icon for the tab you are on.
Will only show one notification per tab change or focus.
Allows user to set whether to see all notifications. Switching off will only show vulnerable sites.

Many HTTPS-secured sites on the internet use OpenSSL. Unfortunately, a major vulnerability in OpenSSL was disclosed - known as the Heartbleed bug - yesterday that put hundreds of thousands of servers at risk of compromise.
Whilst some servers have been patched already, many remain that have not been patched. Stopbleed & Chromebleed use a web service developed by Filippo Valsorda and checks the URL of the page you have just loaded. This extension does not check the site from your location, but uses a service to check the domain you are browsing. If it is affected by Heartbleed, then a Chrome notification will be displayed. It's as simple as that!
Please note that, in some jurisdictions, site testing can only be carried out with the express permission of the site owner. Please check what the law says in your local area before proceeding to download this extension.

This is awesome. (Disclosuer: I know the developer.) Keep the fixes coming! It is pretty cool to see the icon change based on the tab I am using. I like that I can turn the extension off without having to disable it.
Great extensions. Actually works and unlike the other one this one the pop-ups are not annoying and they are small in a corner and only show up a fraction of a second + the icon changes when the site is ok or not etc...Great extension.Shame not a lot of people are using this one, it is clearly the best one in the 2.
Great Extension. I really like the way it changed the icon when I went back to a tab. Being able to change whether it is active on the popup quickly makes it really useful too. Hard to believe this is free. Paying for this tool would be no problem for piece of mind. Kudos to the developers for putting the time into this extension.
