If you’re trying to avoid companies that operate unfairly, add FIND FAIR to Chrome and start spotting ethical products when you search and shop online.

➤ How it works
In Search
Ethically endorsed products will bear the FAIR symbol and be highlighted in orange capitals as they appear on the most commonly used search engines including:
• Google
• Yahoo
• Bing
• DuckDuckGo

In online Supermarkets
Working on all the major supermarket websites, ethical options will display the FAIR symbol and be highlighted with orange capitals while you browse, so you can instantly see the endorsed products. Retailers include:
• countdown.co.nz
• newworld.co.nz
• paknsave.co.nz
• supie.co.nz
• thewarehouse.co.nz

➤ Who’s behind it?
Developed by not-for-profit fair&good - The Ethical Directory, in consultation with other like-minded organisations like Fairtrade ANZ, Trade Aid, Tearfund, SPCA and B Corp among others.

Brands cannot pay to be included in FIND FAIR, they have to be endorsed by the developer or one of their not-for profit affiliated partners.

➤ How are products selected?
With a focus on social justice through ethical trade, products are selected where people in supply chains are fairly rewarded for their work. However, this is not the only consideration, brands and products are measured against nine core values including:
• Fair labour
• Sustainability
• Transparency in supply chains
• Giving back to the community
• Gender equality
• Inclusivity
• Consistency of values
• Animal welfare
• Community mindedness

Seems like a great concept but had to uninstall when I saw Nestle products showing up as 'fair'. You know, the same Nestle that has used child labour, caused hospitalisation and death due to their products (and that's just the tip of the iceberg). I'd avoid this extension until they do a serious re-evaluation of what they consider 'ethical'.

Love using this. Really fun to shop for groceries online and spot the ethical products as you click through the pages. Way more than I would have thought. :)

Got it, tested it out- first thing I found is that it marks NESTLE products as ethical. NESTLE. Seriously? Searched Nestle by itself- 90% of their products were in orange. It also seems only rate organic products as ethical- of 600 or so options I looked through, maybe 10 or so were marked by this extension. Clearly unreliable and if they think Nestle is ethical, I seriously question those who created this extension.
