This solves my problem exactly. I can use PWAs in edge and open their links in Firefox. Thank you for making this.
be honestly it is very useful Firefox is an awesome site
I imagine the extension works fine, but the thing is, my chromebook cant work with this extension. and i cant find why that is. i don't know if my chromebook is a specific make and model, or if my chromebook isn't completely updated. But the video attached to this says that the extension's compatible with chromebooks, even though it's not working for me. \_(-_-)_/
works great to allow opening broken chrome sites.
Works as expected. Wanted to use Gmail in Chrome but rest in Firefox and it allows me to do just that. Tested on MacOS. Thanks you.
SOMETIMES WORKS
Firefox, Chrome and OperaGX those plugins all work perfectly, thanks.
It doesn't seem to work for Chrome OS. I downloaded the zip file but what I got seems to be for windows and they don't have an available file for chromebooks, or at least as far as I can see. Also, the steps are way too vague and don't really help if you don't already know what you're doing. I think it should be made clear it doesn't work for chromebooks.
Thank you very much! Please to support new menu context "Open Link in incognito Firefox window"
It works! Great for multi-monitor setup
It works for me (and in the Brave Browser no less)! Just install the extension, download the zip file it tells you to download, extract in contents into a local folder (I used "Documents/Open in FireFox" as my folder), and then double click on the install.bat file. Hit any key in CMD Prompt when it opens and you are set! Well probably anyway.
Doesn't work without installing additional software and that's not made clear before hand. Be honest from the start.
This extension is a real must for escaping Chrome Apps jailing as Google is forcing opening Chrome for any link present from a web app created with it. As Firefox support for web-apps is not yet useful for practical purposes (no dock windows or app icons on macos at least), we are forced to create web apps using Chrome. That comes with a big price: any link you click on these apps, will open in Chrome instead of using the system default browser. This extension can ameliorate this but it seems to still not work for changing all links by default, even if I tried to reverse mode.
I don't need the functionality of this extension myself. I was looking for a simple Windows solution to convert PDFs to Text out of the browser for a large group of people who are provided PDF files - in order to use an excellent text-to-speech reader. There might be a pdf reader and if there is I'll eventually find it. I use linux personally for most of my file manipulation including file conversions. So, 1 star for being the only kid on the block that has anything posted. The second star to encourage the developers to code this into a typical extension that provides a straightforward process. I won't be using this add-on at this time. Super Users might get it to work and that is cool esp if you don't have any other solutions. Good Luck Developers.
I have heard some disturbing things about Google recently, but unfortunately that was not long after the purchase of my second Chromebook. The fact that it did not work for me is not the developers fault. Google should have one source for code that runs with the Chrome browser on Chromes OS, and another for the Chrome browser on everything else. The fact that the browser and the operating system are both named Chrome has always been a source of confusion.
Doods, works flawless. Low stars are from non-doods.
Installing something more than an extension itself smells, but it looks like nobody else is able to do it without it (other plugins use python etc...) After quick install script review it looks ok. So hopefully it is, and it will stay safe :-) After installation works fine.
Extension has issue where if you also have Firefox Developer Edition installed, the link will open in standard Firefox and then also in Firefox Developer Edition.
A great extension!!!
Did what it said. I did have to install a small something in Windows (the first time you use the extension it will tell you what to do), but that was easy enough.
good
Flawless. The only extension that really works with any other browser with custom path. I'm using Firefox Developer Nightly or Edge Canary (with the Chrome engine). The rest of the similar extensions (the one for example that you need install Python) are should earn lower stars, but not this extension. This works. Low stars? Don't trust them, especially if you need seamless integration opening URL's in any other browser.
This is not compatible to my chrome book computer. It will not down load even though it states that it is compatible to chrome book computers.
Does exactly what it says it does, works flawlessly.
reason ways automaticlly acctiveded
v good app
i love this
I clicked the "one more step", downloaded the zip file. But giving access by letting this program run a batch file, and also an executible file? No, I'm not that trusting of any app developer. I thought "install extension" was install? I agree with other comments, seems too shady. Developer should have the user manually set up the machine rather than batch file and exe files. Uninstalled of course. And I did not run the batch file, no no no.
Works great for me, I use Open in Chrome add-on also. Yes, it took some tinkering around to get them working.
Does not open pages in Firefox!
Doesn't work. Installed the communicator as directed, but won't open pages in Firefox still.
The extension works as it is expected within Ubuntu. It could be used in more extended way as it is illustrated here: https://askubuntu.com/a/972824/566421 Note to the Author: It would be nice if under the "Misc" section has a entry "Name of the executable: []", that will cause a change of the menu entry name, within the context menu of the browser.
Wasted 45min. After installing the bat file went through reading copious amounts of circular references to things I have no idea about. I installed the bat file... but apparently there are numerous additional layers deep I gotta go. Sadly uninstall.
Not working
Does not work! It keeps giving an error message that makes absolutely no sense. It says to open and install the native client but gives no indication where it might be. I click "check connection"and the popup says the "Native client version is 0.5.3. So what do I do now? I know, uninstall the extension and try another.
won't work
It wants me to install some .bat file in addition to the extension, yeah no, looks too dodgy, removed.
doesnt work for google chrome laptops
can't use this with acer chromebook r13. with is a real bummer since my paying for college depends on my ability to access this browser. please don't quit trying to make firefox work with chrome. good luck
It does not work.
This is the best app for firefox connection in chrome store. Others really bothering.
Good! Work on Windows with Chrome 57 & Firefox 52 ^_^
horrible garbbage
Does not work on Fedora 25 with Chromium and Firefox
Windows 7 64 bit, Firefox 50.1.0 64 bit and Google Chrome 55.0.2883.87 m (64-bit). Always brings up "one more step" page. Relaunched FF and Chrome. I have installed the helped with right click run as admin and it says it was successful. Check button on one more step page says "looks good native client is 0.18" Edit: This now works after setting the path in options.
Work on windows
The only one that works in Mac. Thanks
Doesn't work...
