As a teacher of a small school, I downloaded this on all my students laptops hoping to get them to focus. It didn't work and many kids came up to me and said that Kahoot was blocked for "malware". This extension is a miserable, misery-inducing piece of software. It's hindered my ability to websurf, study, relax, do schoolwork, and generally have an enjoyable and productive internet experience. This extension was not added to my computer by my choice, and I want it removed promptly. It blocks a plethora of useful websites, and there are keywords which, when entered into a search engine, will trigger a "Page Blocked" pop-up. Get this stupid extension off the web store, and off my computer.

Yo. I'm using an alt to write this review because IBOSS BLOCKS IT! It also slows down the computer by a lot, It basically works like a virus. It also blocks websites that shouldn't even be blocked! If you are a student who has this, I found multiple ways and websites. I'm not going to tell you how to unblock the YET... Y'all need to stop crying. It does its job, but I am rating it does for its business practices. Iboss makes districts pay extra money to fix bypasses, and just leave another open for more money. Also, extremely simple to bypass if you have a 4gb flash drive and a dream.

It iss GARBAGEEEEE. Ok first of all, it blocks sites like discord and other things that students want to have. It even blocks stuff we sometimes need for school. I am a student and I have never experienced anything worse. My 7 year old computer is better than this with iboss installed. Blocks so much stuff even though nothing is inappropriate for example a blocks Dordle a dual word guessing game. If you have a choice than DO NOT USE IT.

This is ridiculous not only does this extension block websites but slows down your entire OS. As a student in 7th grade nitrotype was allowed by teachers and now its blocked and so many other school appropriate sites

Things wrong with this: -Restrictions to the point of unusability -Destroyed grades of many students -It has permission to hack every single account connected to your internet -Slows down computers so much that it becomes unusable If your admin was dumb enough to install this and doesn't care about your safety or privacy, reset the devices that iboss is on. On chromebook, press ESC+REFRESH+POWER, press CTRL+D to go into Dev mode, sign in to your main account, delete all the iboss stuff, and then sign into your work/school account. DO NOT TURN ON ACCOUNT SYNC. Enjoy having privacy, security, and a fully functional computer. If you are an admin who downloaded iboss, delete it now. It can easily destroy your business or school. EDIT: The reset doesn't work. System recoveries don't work. Try a BIOS reflash or something.

So I go to ANY website: and guess what: there's an ad. It Doesn't block ads: It prevents me from using discord for block reason "Friendship". Like, are you kidding me? Okay, so the school doesn't want us to have friends? This extension is garbage! Do the teachers or admins read ANY reviews? Well if you're a teacher, don't. Get. This. I now understand why there is a 1 star review. This is the WORST thing I have EVER put on my computer. It's a legal virus. Number one. Number two, when I first downloaded the extention on my PC. I physicaly had to use a virus scanning sofware to see why my computer was so slow. The results came back with the problem being IBOSS. I am now deleting IBOSS. To anyone thinking about getting IBOSS just dont. Its a waste of space. The creator should have just ended their creation when they had the chance. NEVER download IBOSS.

Slows down computer very much I can see the difference when iboss is installed and when it is not installed, if it is installed how can I do my work quick and efficient if there's a 5-10 second lag, I understand its here to block things, but there are students that really want to do work quick and efficient and not siting there like ducks and wait for it to load and when a teacher post a video and we want to watch it guess what its blocked like how is this suppose to help us with our education. . .

Well, in my school, they use iBoss as well, and it is completely terrible. I get why the administration would block stuff, but adding was just a bad idea. There are lots of reasons why iBoss is hated, and here are the list of things why most people hate it. First off is how it blocks some things that you need for school. One time it blocked me for searching anything up as there is a glitch that iBoss has... which leads me to 2, how it is a bit of a virus. Of course, on a chromebook(a regular one) somethings don't work because most chromebooks don't use Linux. Without Linux, a lot of things are inaccessible. Of course, adding iBoss into the situation is bad enough. It does make somethings really laggy, like trying to download something, or sending someone information, it also slows down the school online meetings we have. My school teachers agree that iBoss isn't good. As well as my friends. And the last thing is that iBoss is really pointless as teachers already use a screen watcher in class, where they can tell you something about what you're doing, or even turn off the page. First i have to say it makes the internet speed slow super slow due to the use it has with the proxy i had to make sure it was that and true to be it was i am annoyed by that fact and i wish this app/extension will have a better use than limiting children's use in a device a schools provides because some children do not have the as a privilege to them i know that because i am one of them i will be glad when this is used other than blocking the fun out of hours for kids i wish i could say more about this and i would like but not to say it wishing it would be removed as a extension have some time to think about this comment iBoss btw there is false info about it

Iboss made a terrible example of a "cyber security" This thing blocks hundreds of educational websites for my school work, I can also not do anything about it. Your software slows down my computer. having to do a review from my home account, but this extension blocks simple things like GMAIL, makes computers a little slow and blocks sites that even my teachers are getting annoyed about.. once installed, you cannot uninstall (mainly from accounts made my the district for the students)

Its HORRIBLE! All it does it constantly slow down computers, block USEFUL websites. And even has the nerve to AUDACITY to block things school related.

Firstly, it is getting routed to Texas. Secondly, the filter is really awful and it just gets stuck in a redirect loop until it just says "Can not access the page." Lastly, it takes like 20 - 30 seconds to fully load Meet. Get this abomination, scourge of humanity off of this world.

it slow the slow af computers even more then it checks your signed in email school or not it block certen thing that are for learning that have word like models for math it see device information, such as its serial number or asset ID but it might be needed i don't know also its the easiest to bypass if you have like $20 you can get a usb stick and install another browser like firefox or anything from another computer

You can delete it completely if you have a mac computer, heres how: go to finder, then go to the applications ON THE SIDEBAR and right click on google chrome.app, then click show package contents, you should(if your district know about this then im sorry it wont work) have a folder called Resources, enter the folder and you should see another folder called Extensions, go into it and delete IBoss :D YAY. (ps might find out how to with a Windows machine in the future.) btw edit: congrats iBoss I can install COD Warzone and Steam but can't use google slides

Hey, if anyone has anyone knows any methods on how to access websites like Tik Tok, Instagram, Twitter, and Wattpad- could you please reply to me with instructions on how to do so? I previously used the extension Byte Browser 2.0 which was an alternate browser extension which allowed me to access social media without showing up on my history. Unfortunately, this extension along with all other alternate browsers were blocked today. Please let me know if there are other methods. #reportiboss

Iv'e had this for 2 years and I hate it so much. It blocks Twitch, Twitter, Discord, Reddit, and many other sites I enjoy browsing. I can't delete it because it's like embedded in computer. Overall it sucks.
