                When viewing a webpage, you can use WebCuts to save a file to your device that acts as a shortcut back the URL of that tab. The file is saved in html format, with a .html extension. (Your device should already be set up to open .html files with your default web browser)

Works with all platforms, including linux and probably Android as well. Works better than .url on macs as well. Could be better if the URL was shown in a human friendly HTML comment for cloud storage places that just render the HTML as text

This is AMAZING... It's revolutionised the way I use things like Google Drive (Docs). I never did like the 'file system' in Google Drive... with this, I can easily keep links to said files where I want, logically, in my own file system - including the 'shared with me' ones... Simple yet brilliant.
