The extension works. It isn't restricted to <a> links like another similar extension, which adds a special button/icon to open supported files in the browser. Instead, it seems to intercept requests and pipe them into the Google Docs viewer. That's the functionality I was looking for. One thing that would have made it better is the ability restrict the extension's functionality to specific file types.
Not bad actually, but need some updates. Some doc just loads and loads but do not open with Google docs. Need to declare privacy practice as well. But good since this extension not seeking all access. Options can be added to click and open as a new tab instead of current tab. Few more file formats can be added.
Useful thing. Only thing missing's rtf support
