USED to be excellent little app for citing your genealogical finds. I wouldn't even try any more. DOES NOT WORK! I mean at all, & been this way for more than a year. I keep checking back, & every time it's worse. To be clear, it has not worked at all for a long time, but here it still is. Now it does not even try to start. I don't know why they don't remove it if they're not going to fix it. Then we at least know for sure. I suspect they, much like others have perfected the app here for free, then sold it, which is why it doesn''t work and hasn't worked for quite some time. I'm done waiting. My advice, don't bother.
I've had Record Seek for over a year now. I've NEVER been able to use it with Ancestry.com. It just spins and never loads the log in. It works fine with Family Search. 3 stars because it only does half of what it's supposed to.
This tool WAS great, and I'll update this review if and when they resolve the issue. But like several other reviewers, it stopped working because RecordSeek has let their certificate lapse and hasn't renewed it. Because of that, Chrome blocks access to recordseek.com too, so there's no way to contact them other than through reviews. And even before this error started recording, it wouldn't add sources to Ancestry, just to FamilySearch. The detail of the error message I'm seeing is: NET::ERR_CERT_DATE_INVALID Subject: recordseek.com Issuer: R3 Expires on: Jul 6, 2021 Current date: Jul 19, 2021 <snip code block for PEM encoded chain/> Certificate Transparency: SCT DigiCert Yeti2021 Log (Embedded in certificate, Verified) SCT Google 'Xenon2021' log (Embedded in certificate, Verified)
