The sidebar works great, but I would suggest a few improvements - dealing with long text: it is not a great experience to display a message error, instead you could send just the top 4000 tokens or first 2000 and last 2000, or batch the long input in multiple calls - Esc should hide the sidebar and the collapse button should be near the Erase button, in order not to surprise users with original UI ideas - Ability to save/bookmark an answer; chatGPT has the right idea with the history sidebar.
The ChatGPT sidebar is the best ChatGPT extension I have ever tried! I use it to find similar pages when I'm doing marketing research and to brainstorm ideas using Google Docs. ChatGPT Sidebar is a powerful and useful tool that everyone should have in their toolkit. Its features, ease of use, and ability to function as both a reading and writing assistant make it a must-have for anyone who wants to improve their browsing experience. I have one suggestion: please allow us to customize the order of the prompt templates in the dropdown list.
This looks pretty impressive and promising... but giving it a 3 for now due to a privacy concern. Will modify if noted concern is addressed. Question #1: why does it need me to share or access to my OpenAI API Key, isn't that meant to be Private and only available/accessible to the owner / "individual account issued"?? How should one trust that it won't be exploited for unrelated usage?? Question #2: Does the extension work without providing this private piece of data?? Thnx.
