Although the new tab page has gotten better of these years, some (myself included) require something a little personal. This extension allows user freedom in a lightweight and snappy package.
Privacy Policy: Regarding the permissions required to automate the new URL redirect, this extension does not and will never record any user data.
There is no hidden communication with any external sites.

This extension works very nicely for me. I was being redirected to an unwanted page each time I opened a new tab. Works perfectly.
BEST NEW TAB EXTENSION FOR CHROME
I found 24 of these sorts of new tab redirect extensions. This one, after 3 days of testing, was the only new tab redirect extension that hardly ever flashed a blinding white screen during the redirect process (I use a dark browser theme, so that's a meaningful consideration). Also, this extension proved faster and smoother than any of the others. Finally, the extension did every thing it claimed to do It was worth trying them all out for this one - thanks!!.
