I update reviews as things improve or gets worse, at the moment the extension is pretty much near perfect. Well it is perfect to combat Youtubes stupid changes/decision. I don't know if the Dev reads reviews, but youtube removed channel video sorting oldest-newest etc. Hopefully this is a possible add with the extension.

I love this extension, and have used it for years. Every time YouTube adds some new annoying feature or changes something you fix it. I have a request for an option to change the default sort when you go to videos on a channel. Right now YouTube forces you to "for you" which isn't usually relevant (at least for me), so being able to change it back to "latest" would be very useful. Overall, this extension provides many features that I can't really use YouTube without anymore. I also love the options to make scrolling change volume.

Great stuff, love it. Wish there was an option to "save" the speed I set for individual channels, which is a pretty niche thing, and that should tell you just how many options and functionality this extension provides. I respect the current developers (March 25 2013) and how they operate - not a bunch of sellouts and create a great product that's survived the YouTube transformations.

I REALLY WISH there was a way to create a shortcut to "SAVE" the video to your library - or create a new shortcut in script or something like create a playlist/save video to playlist etc - At 1st I thought this was the greatest extension ever, but after awhile you realize it lacks a bit of depth in it capabilities. STill - it's installed on all by browsers - appears to be trustworthy & lacking malware & functional - these days that's no given.

This is everything I wanted and more. Fantastic addition to Chrome, thanks very much.

Great extension! Something I would really love to see is a magic button to automatically edit out all the filler words too many videos contain, e.g., you know, automatically, like, edit out all the, hum, ANNOYING filler words, that, uh, videos like, have more and more of, you know. A customizable list of words to recognize from the transcript, and ruthlessly rip them out of the audio would be amazing.

It's good to have a ready extension to use when needed it most. Has every customization what I wanted. Kudos!.

This extension is amazing. Sometimes doesn't load properly but is very rare and all you have to do is open the extension and then reload the page to get it working again. Glad to have this extension and can't go without it anymore. No more having to adjust the quality of every video, extra color themes, and extra features youtube does not offer. Thank you for making this.

Enhances every aspect.

If only there were an option to hide al the thumbnails at the right.

Request a feed for watch later videos I find that the reason I mostly did not go back to watch later video is because the inteface is not optimal. I think if we can have a page where all watch later videos are shown as the youtube feed page, it will be easier to click on them.

It is DA BEST!! One thing though, A-B repeat would be a very nice and important feature to have. I know, I know, we're using it for free, still. Thank you so much!

This is s much needed extension for school, learning, and research. The ability to speed and slow with a simple click, I also set the default speed higher since that is what I need. Snapshots are great, filters are cool, and of course removing all the things that annoy or make youtube too enticing and you lose focus. Great for people with ADHD

It is full of features and very useful and customizable. But it lacks the ability to block ads on homescreen which could be annoying sometimes.

Macos chrome browser Version 110.0.5481.177 (Official Build) (x86_64). There is kind of bug in this extension? I set default playback speed 1,3 and increment 0,1. When I slow down the playback speed by keyboard shortcut, it goes down 1,2 and jumps to 1,09 and then 0,99. Why it doesn't go with increment step and goes down as 1,2; 1,1; and 1?

Greatly increases CPU usage for some reason, will have to do without just so my CPU isn't pegged at 70C just watching a 1080p video. Was excellent while I used it however.

love the extension but since yesterday (i think) if you go from theater mode to full screen, youtube is black. however if you go from a regular window to fullscreen it works. not sure what is going on. i have reinstalled chrome, customized the settings and it's happening again

I've used this for years on Firefox. I just switched to Chrome but for some reason the 'disable autoplay' feature doesn't work at all. :|

I love this extension I have it on my laptop and desktop and I definitely recommend this I've used this extension for awhile since it came out.

Having a problem with the extension stopping working after a few mins. Im using Vivaldi latest snapshot and have seen others complain of the same issue. Seems to be a service worker issue possibly(?) as in the extension manager I can see "service worker (Inactive)" after the extension stops working. I've found a couple pages that reference this issue if you would like to look into them, just let me know and i can send you the links.

It's not the Magic! Nothing new and partially mimics features one of the best extension for YouTube - "Magic Actions for YouTube", even made a similar icon. Conflicts with the buttons of other extensions, so uses unfair practices. Be careful!

Love it, worked perfectly until recently there are no controls in the video player or under it within a bar or anywhere else, removing and reinstalling doesn't do the trick. I'm using opera gx but i doubt it's the problem, not youtube neither cuz i can still change the theme using the enhacer so yeah, the problem is this extension, please look into it. Thanks

Best extension i ever had after google translate

Awesome add in. I mainly use this to expand the video to fill the window, control playback quality and speed. Feature Request: Adding in a separate playback speed option for Playlists and normal videos like you have with the resolution option - I keep music in playlists, so avoiding playing these at 1.3x speed would be SO handy. Pleeeease :)

Extension is now broken. Must be a youtube issue. Will not work in theatre mode and add ons will not work.

I am so angry right now. I'm dropping a star on the basis of them adding useless functions for when you first download that clutter YouTube. I don't want icons getting in the way of my youtube videos, and I am not so stupid I can't right click to enable loop. That said. This extension has great utility and does almost everything you would want, most importantly stopping videos in newly opened tabs, and ensuring every video has 1080p HD instead of having to manually select it. It's a good extension, but the hotbar it brings on when you download it is completely useless and unnecessary. The functions don't always work perfectly, but it's decent, just has some weird kinks that make it seem like it does far less than it actually does. I recommend it, if you had the old YouTube extension before it was deleted, then you'll have been missing this small quality of life improvement to YouTube.

**Great feature but doesn't stop the 'random autoplay post-playlist' issue.** This extension has a lot of useful things for me, I'm light sensitive and neurodivergent so being able to apply filters to some videos, change video speed, and have personalised dark mode is extremely valuable. It makes YouTube look better with it's design. However, I got this to stop YT autoplaying a random video after you complete a personal playlist. This still happens, even if you apply EVERY anti-autoplay option. !!Can this be updated to make sure it works with how YTcurrently works, please? It's the worst part of YT!!

everything useful in this extension is built into youtube, if you really really dont want to right click to turn on loop i guess but theres no real reason to use this

Been using it for some time & pretty satisfied with its performance.

I would give a better rating but they have removed the option to change the preferred language on the videos with closed caption.

Incredibly useful tools and settings for YouTube viewing. Continues to be developed and although occasionally stops working (no doubt due to Google updates) it has been reliable for a few years now. As of today it's fully working :)

Great extension to rid yourself of ads you NEVER WANT TO WATCH on YouTube. Funny because advertisement is a constant reminder for me of what not to buy. I have found that the best things in life do not have obligation attached to them from someone you never met or someone famous trying to swindle your dollar to become theirs. I have had this extension now for a few months and I have not watched an ad since. Unless it was an ad pre-recorded into the video itself. The only problem I have with the extension it is that sometimes when I use my scroll wheel and scroll down on the page to look at comments, that function of scrolling changes the playback speed of the video. When it does, it will require me to either totally exit the window and re-open it or go into to the extension settings and change the playback speed away from 1 and then back to 1. I do not have a secondary mouse at the moment to make sure it is not the mouse that is causing the problem, but I would assume if it were that it would cause problems with other applications and it doesn't. Overall I love this extension. The real reason I use Google and YouTube is for a lack of something better. Since they do exist, their inadequacy gives employment to those that wish to make the world a better place... hence "Enhancer for YouTube".

Sometimes the modifications it adds don't apply to YouTube sometimes. And I have to delete and re-add the extension in order for the affects to apply to the app. Aside from that, it's a great extension!

Been using this for years now. However I have a request! Is it possible to add an option to hide watched videos? Basically stop showing videos we're already watched in the main feed. YouTube should be doing it but half the content I see these days is stuff I have already watched....

The only thing I don't like is that it pauses youtube videos on other tabs/windows by default. You can turn it off though, so overall this is a pretty great extension.

Update. Back to amazing. I didn't use it for a month but now I am, unintentionally. It works great WAS AMAZING! As of a day or two ago, it no longer functions. Doesn't show within the video player, no matter what options are selected. Could not get it to show at all and been having to resort to changing the speed manually with every video

i rly like this extension esp because of the volume booster and having a mini video player appear when u scroll down the comments is rly good. the only problem i have with it tho is the player teleporting me down to the comments when i play back 10 seconds before or after the video. idk why but bc of this i have to restart the tab everytime i have this problem

Enhancer for YouTube is the only addon that manipulates with the scrolling bar and make it invisible to normal eyes and unfortunately there is no option in the Enhancer for YouTube settings that shows how to display the default or larger size or size the user wants of scrollbar. If you disable this addon then the scrolling bar is visible. I have mailed the dev several times since 2020 but looks like dev is from google so doesnt care about users. Also I tried 2 addons from this store namely "Scrollbar Customizer" and "Custom Scrollbars" to increase the size of scrollbar but both couldnt as this addon Enhancer for YouTube overpowers the youtube scrolling bar size. I am sure dev isnt reading this otherwise he would have given user control over this like other features. Also, there is no option to take backup of custom settings of addon like ublock origin or adguard or tabliss new tab addon provides so like me if you lose your device or do a reset due to faulty windows 10 updates, then you will lose all the settings of this addon and then thank to this dev for not providing a basic feature. If you provide an option to increase scrollbar size in settings with local backup export and import options then, I will increase my ratings otherwise it will be 1 star.

Good extension. But needs to work on Pop up player settings to keep it always on top. Whenever I use this option and go to different webpage and click on that page the pop up player goes to background. So, please give options to to keep it always on top to use both the webpage and the video player together. Thanks in advance.

Was looking for something to auto-set my videos to 1080p and found this really useful extension. Provided way more features than I ever expected, would definitely recommend to anyone who uses YouTube a lot.

Noice Simple to used

Found while looking for something to always start videos in best available resolution, as the one i was using, had issues (like refusing manual resolution setting), this one is great, and has so many more options as well. Love the higher possible speeds than standard 2x, love the volume boost, hiding chat, auto expand descriptions options etc.

Completely changed my workflow for the better. There's no reason to revert back to the usual YouTube.

An easy five stars. If I may be a choosing beggar, would love to see the "sort by oldest" feature make a comeback. In YouTube's scorched earth campaign of making the site both less useful and less user friendly, they've deigned to remove that sorting option. I'd extend that invitation to any wizards of JavaScript to try their hand at the challenge.

This is an amazing extension that makes YouTube much more enjoyable to use, it's also really helpful with its plentiful features. However it would be nice to see the new ambient mode be compatible with the custom themes.

Really handy, pretty robust on my end and haven't encounter too much issues for the past years. If possible I'd love to see a feature that roll back the ui, the new rounded ui is just pure eyesore.

I genuinely use this tool daily. If you need to bolster your toolkit on YouTube, this unequivocally is the best YouTube browsing extension. I'll give you a rundown of my thoughts on each tool this extension offers: 1. Loop Excellent for listening to the same song over and over again for an hour straight. 10/10, I use this daily. 2. Reverse playlist I always found it annoying when playlists that aren't mine contain an episodic series. The sort defaults to "Date Added" and some creators don't pay attention to their own playlists so without this extension, I had to go out of my way to find a playlist made by a third party with the correct ordering- until I found this tool. I don't watch playlists besides my own usually anyways, but I've used it a couple of times. 9/10; convenient when It's needed. 3. Boost Volume Same scenario as Reverse Playlist. Useful when the time calls for it. 9/10. 4. Add to Whitelist I'm gonna be honest I've never used this feature. 0/10. 5. Remove Ads Again idk. ?/10. 6. Cinema Mode I can't see this being useful. 0/10. 7. Expand I don't use this one. 0/10. 8. Pop-up Player I've used this like once, still cool though. 6/10. 9. Speed (X) Funny to mess around with but not inherently useful. 9/10. 10. Video Filters I never use this. 0/10. 11/12. Flip Horizontally/Vertically Nice to have but have never used it. 5/10. 13. Screenshot What??? 14. Keyboard Shortcuts Idk honestly. 15. Options Idk In conclusion: I may have hyped up this extension. But honestly, I use it daily.

Just needs a few more touches, and it will be even greater! ////BUG\\\\ I have a problem, not sure if anyone else experiences this, but if I pause a video and go do something else, and after I come back after a little, the audio either gets low or high pitch. For a while it got high pitch, but now it gets low pitch, which is very annoying and can't be undone unless refreshing the page. --2022-10-- EDIT: Since the last player update, everything stopped working. Until it's fixed, I can't recommend this at all...1 star until it's fixed. --2022-10-26-- Bugs fixed and everything working again as it should. 5*

Nice extension and it’s good with Firefox but the latest version with Microsoft Edge is a bit messed up. The option to disable autoplay no longer works, it’s on by default no matter the setting. Also, video resolution always defaults to 360 with annotations on even though in settings it’s at 240. Went back to 2.0.114, which still does it right. I do like the new option to convert shorts so I hope you’re able to fix the bugs.

Been using it for months, but recently i discovered if I have the extension enabled I cant click on the video players. I have cleared cache, restarted browser, reinstalled extension and restarted pc. didn't work Currently I - Can't pause videos - Can't manually skip to a part of a video - Can't interact with shorts - Anything that requires clicking on the video player Looks like I'm going to have to disabled this extension for a bit until this is fixed

Not sure what happened, but the current version is a bit bugged on third party sites, particularly the "Control the volume level with the mouse wheel when hovering over the video player with the mouse cursor" option. For reference I am using a website called Holodex to watch multiple streams, Viewsync, another third party, isn't working either. When I load a new video the scroll wheel doesnt change the volume. I have the right mouse button option ticked as well. The only remedy I found is that I have to go into the extension options and retick the volume wheel mouse option, It starts working after, but, any time I load a new video I have to repeat the process. Bug process. Load video on third party website Volume scroll isnt working Go to options Disable and renable Volume scroll option Volume scroll is working again Repeat when loading stream/video

The more new updates, the more misbehaves on Youtube. I prefer the older version last in 2020-21.

I like the new toolbar BUT I would like the option to have the icons always open and visible instead of having to click the 3 horizontal dots to access them and click to change the 3 dots from horizontal to vertical. I want the option to have the 3 dots always open - vertical - (but I understand some people would prefer them hidden)

It used to work but with the new YouTube comment layout it seems to have issues with volume changing setting and option/ settings bar appearing. Hopeful for a quick fix. Edit; For some reason YouTube reverted back to the old comment layout so now it works. So 5/5 stars again. Either the extension update fixed it or the YouTube layout rollback fixed it, can't know for sure.

There seems to be a bug after the new updates, but Im not sure? most times I want my quality set to 480p becuase i dont watch many videos full screen also I have auto-play turned off which works fine. Sometimes I load a video and before I start watching it, I change it to 1080p, because I know im going to watch this particular video fullscreen. Then after that when I enter fullscreen, the player quickly switches back to 480p and video starts playing. this only started after the new updates. I did not change any of my settings. I have a fully updated chrome and I have no settings to change quality when entering or exiting fullscreen.

Great extension that provides a lot of much-appreciated functionality. The author is very active and always gets updates and fixes in ASAP! Hoping to get a feature that converts all audio to mono at some point, but sill... 5/5 stars!

It's a very excellent tool. 2022-10-19 All the descriptions cannot auto expand. even I have ticked the Automatically expand the videos descriptions. 2022-10-18 This extension is fully disappeared for a few days. 2022-4-26 I like the "Automatically expand video description" option. and "Prevent videos loaded in the foreground tab from automatically playing as well". Recently, on YouTube, the date of the video is always hidden. I suggest that if this excellent tool can add an option to expand the date to show the date of the video.

Has been good for as long as I used it in the past, but a recent update seems to have broken the player controls and a number of the options in the extension settings. Confirmed that the extension IS running, as some settings do work, but others seem entirely nonfunctional. EDIT: Updating Chrome helped me get the extension working in a more normal state. However, I can't go back up to 4 stars as the changes to Shorts is not an option, but completely forced. If this became an option instead, I'd bump it up again. EDIT 2, Electric Boogaloo: Shorts became an option rather than forced. I said I'd bump it up, so here I am.

Does everything it promises! Including blocking bad content! amazing! Edit: 18/10/22 The stop auto-play feature is no longer working. All videos I open will start to autoplay, and not stop and buffer until I launch them. I had to install another addon to do this instead. Hope you guys can check that out.
