Not appearing anymore. I am currently on MacOS 10.12 and the popout icon has gone now, it used to be top right of the youtube window but no more, I have not upgraded to new mac os yet but shame its not available anymore, any help appreciated as I really like this tool

actually pretty good you can use the floating window as the original one (volume, time, cc...) yet one thing to mention , when you use another app window the floating one doesn't show up like the opera gx one so ye that's it. if i could put 4.5 stars i would've done it

Used to be great now since the last update it pops out CC for every video by default... auto generated in english, even for foreign language videos. It does it on every video in a separate window. AND to top it off if you close the window and pause and unpause after a few seconds the auto generated CC will pop up on top of all windows with text again. SUPER ANOYING making this unusable

I've been using this for a couple years now and it works ok, has a few hiccups here and there with it not popping videos out, but does its job on the whole

If you want a "Always on top" feature, just google "deskpins"

Works really well. Does what it claims to do smoothly and intuitively.

Works great as intended! FYI this extension will break 360° videos (at least for me) so keep that in mind. Took a few minutes to narrow it down to this extension.

The icon doesn't appear when in cinema view, which I'm always in, so that sucks. Otherwise it's a fine enough extension, works well with fancy spaces in windows 10 powertools.

Where is the button to pop out?

i have to be noobing this extension because i stilll don't see any option to pop out any of the videos i'm watching after a complete windows reboot. first time an extension hasn't had that 'plug and play' effect.

I don't think it's compatible with live streams. Which sucks

not even single song plays on it, comes up with an error video unavailable every time. don't which kinds of videos are available.

Finally one with video controls. Very high quality.

Works great and even better with the Always on Top script. If that's why you don't like it, just download the script. It's free and safe. Google it, easy to find

Works perfectly. When I don't have another monitor handy, I have to squish multiple windows on one screen, and this extension allows me to perfectly put the youtube window in the top right quadrant of my screen. Just what I needed, thanks!

Does the job! Includes video controls in the popup window, which is great. Only (very minor) issue is that I couldn't immediately see how to use it because I had a video in "cinema mode" and the popout button doesn't appear in that view but once I returned it to "default view" then it was very clear.

Doesn't work, every video shows as "Video Unavailable". Same for the similar app/extension "Floating"

Terrific for me. Just what I was looking for. I usually work from two windows and I enjoy having my YouTube playing along in one corner. Great addition for chrome -- already one of my fave extensions. I will be using it every day!

Very easy to use, and it's really nice being able to resize the pop-out. This used in tandem with DeskPins is a perfect combo.

Nice little plugin for pop-out videos. Only thing that's not very user-friendly is that you can't play a playlist (as far as I can tell) and have to manually go back to youtube after the video and pop out the window again. I'm not even sure if this is something that's possible. Other than that, it's been pretty good so far.

it does its job and what it says but it can be better

this is great, it allows me to keep a thumbnail sized video rolling while I do other work. A *feature* is that the window title remains the same so I can mark it in JSPager (works on Windows 10, 8, 7, XP) as a sticky window so it follows me when I switch desktops

came from opera pop-out feature, wanted one for chrome. and found this one. it works great, but it can't be pinned to the top. Can you add the pin function to the popout window? thank you and recommended.

It's nice but the one thing its missing is the always-on-top feature. I like to use other programs while I watch youtube videos and it would be awesome if you could just pin it to the top. Edit: I found out the culprit. Downloaded deskpins. One thing though, it would be nice to be able to play the content within the pop out window when I click on the next video at the end rather than the browser tab

I've been seeking a PiP function for YouTube, and other extensions have recent reviews stating they don't work. I decided to give this one a try. Installed, refreshed the video, and there's the button just outside the upper right corner of the video. Clicking it opens the current video in its own window with the same mouseover functions, as simple as it gets. Works exactly as desired.

I don't like when I click on the videos suggestion at the end of the video it opens the regular browser. It would be nice to go to the video I clicked within the same window so I don't have to pop it up, resize it and reposition it. The add-on looks great and runs great. Good Job and Thank you.

Works great, no complaints there. I would appreciate if the button fit the design of YouTube and was positioned on the bottom bar next to quality settings and that stuff though.

Simple, works great, especially with an extension like DeskPins (no affiliation) to make it stay on top. Could use that functionality built into the pop-out itself, along with a more universal application to video players outside Youtube. But those are just quibbles. Great extension!

I've only used this for bout 5 minutes, but WOW! This is great. It's like PiP and makes it way more convenient to watch a video while working, especially on larger or multi monitor setups with a lot of screen real estate. Thanks!

great extension, just would like a more minimalist design for the button. just some grey squares with an arrow would be sweet. also maybe relocate it to be next to the video title instead.

What an awesome extension! Justin you rock man and thanks for developing this! It makes viewing Youtube 10x better and for those of you with Linux all you have to do is right click your top bar of the video pop out and click "Always on Top" and it's golden.

Very nice! If I had any suggestion, it would be to make the button a bit smaller... but that is only me. Well done and thank you for making it!

Great solution to my listen-while-I-work problem!

I used to love this extension but for the past few weeks it just pops out a black screen even though I'm using the most current version of Chrome

Black screen (in the popout) on what I'm almost certain is the most recent chrome version.

It did what I needed to up until now, so 5 stars for me, but along with other I am also getting a black screen now and no UI to interact with. Just a black window. Justin or anyone know a fix?

Really great for watching tutorials. If it stopped working, update your chrome: > Go to More (top right three dots) > Help > About Google Chrome Your chrome should update automatically.

didn't work at all, popout was a black square. The video demonstrating how it's suppose to work in the web store doesn't even work.

After Google Chrome update, it doesn't work anymore.

This extension was extremely awesome but suddenly it's not working at all for me anymore :'<

Was excited with this, and all the great reviews too. But when I try to use it, nothing but a black screen. Looked at the Support, it's an issue that's been going on for at least a month now, with no fix. I'm sure this was great for the people it worked for, but for me, this is about as useless as it gets.

Does not work

Using the extension now just brings a black screen instead of the video. Very useful if you need to turn youtube videos into black screens, not very useful if you're a normal person.

It was very good when watching the full-ish screen while multitasking on other windows. Very Good but i use adblocker and when the popout window. -_- the ads where there -____-

Doesnt work for me. Just opens a window that is black. No video.

It still gave me ads on chrome, NORMALLY while using youtube without the popout (i have 3 adblockers on), if it fixed that i would rate it higher,

works well but ublock origin is not working on the popped out videos.

ADD 'Always On Top' as requested by many ppl! It's easy to do & adds huge functionality! Then its FIVE STARS, great app!

MASSIVE REQUEST make it like a YT app where you can see the vid over the top/below and see comments, so simply make it become on top (bring to front) of the window so you can view it and see anything or browse on another tab!. thnx!! 5***** then ;) options setting woud be nice REPLY: 27/01 Lol dont get emails for replies or nuffin, its just the only to squeeze replies these days ppl busy and dont care, you do fortunately google needs a bluddy notif feature tho. This a "Pop Out" for YouTube, not a "Float" for YouTube. It's a good start for the Chrome browser; however, it needs to allow the user to maneuver his/her computer or the web without the disappearing video visual.

Floating for Youtube is better

Does exactly what it says it does. My only real complaint is that it doesn't seem to work well with playlists, I have to manually advance videos every time. That and aspect ratio locking would earn it a 5th star.

good extainsion but you should make close and minimize button on screen wen we go to on screen.

Adds advertisement banners covering big part of the video.

Excellent for watching streams from multiple viewpoints, I can have 4 open at once with minimal borders. Only way it could be better was if it was completely borderless, so it would be like each window was fullscreen, but limited to only one quarter of the screen.

Love this extension! I listen to music all day while working and it's nice to be able to have a small window open and out of the way. Thanks Justin Force!

Nice extension. Seems that after using this full screen is disabled on Youtube. Fullscreen with the popout works fine but after closing the popout and back on Youtube any other video will not go fullscreen, just full window of the browser.

Pop out is easy to install and the viewer works very well.

Great extension for youtube. it allows you to pop-out the videos and resize it. In Linux you can even make the window "Always on Top". Ads in the videos are not blocked by uBlock or AdGuard :(

Works well, has no glitches when using devilspie to auto-move the window to the bottom of the screen. The overview picture is old, but it works better than any other popout youtube extensions out there.

Works great, however, without it being able to stay on top of other windows it's unfortunately useless to me.

I believe the app just embeds the regular youtube player and resizes that player to fit the window. In that way it is as fast as it can be and keeps the familiar layout. I use deskpins (Windows application) to keep the window on top.

Is there a way to play playlists using this? I'd like to be able to use shuffle, skip, etc. but I can't figure it out.

For instance, on the youtube.com/user/<username>/videos page, there are small icons that allow you to popout the video directly from that page. Is this possible, or does the video have to be loaded for it to work?

Would love a 'Float window' option like in VLC player but absolutely no complaints

Works perfectly - I was looking for something to hide Youtube's UI so I could view videos in as small a window as possible but this is even better!

Just what I needed but one suggestion: Have the player include the original size of the video rather than the player itself be the size of the video.

Does what it says and does it well. It would be nice to see the "pop-out" button moved into the address bar rather than rendered into the page (could break with future YouTube updates). Also the initial size of the window when it opens leaves black bars on the sides of the video. These are very minor complaints though. Very good work on this. :-)
