It does nothing :(

Tried to monitor one website, the extension didn't work.

i think this extension is hacked or modified by some else because it is show some annoying links in text mode

It's alerting every 3 hours when there's no change

2022 I would say it's as another review put it,..that it doesn't work on Dynamic webpages, and that seems to be all I wanted it for. 2016 Was hoping for something to let me know if a new ebay listing was added to a page. This didn't do it.

Works but checks only once, check interval setting is not working

Does not work on Dynamic web pages. Does not show any updates even though the pages have updated. For mostly static pages, this works well.

It was such a great extension, till visual ping messed it up.

Its look like no one maintain the code anymore. this extension is very flaky and unreliable. it use to be great few years ago.

Super useful and simple to use! Works great :)

When it works, it is great. Don't try using it with more than 2 or 3 pages. Once you get past 4 pages, it will just delete everything you were tracking and you'll need to start fresh from a blank slate.

I love how straight forward the extension is but when clicking on the extension there is a bug where it doesnt show the websites that have changed. but the workaround is that you can have a chance to see which websites has changed. But there is another problem. when checking to see what the difference is, it "loads the difference" indefenitely. Workaround is that you have a chance to see what has changed...

Does not work. I set the refresh interval to 5 seconds and it didn't refresh for 10 minutes.

Works good but it would be nice if it was possible to have different settings for the same page. That way you could have different sounds for different elements on the same page using the element picker.

CONSTANTLY LOSES YOUR DATA. Would be nice if your settings didn't keep getting erased.

The list of sites was cleared yet again. I'm using this extension for years now, but this is it. Sad.

Used to work better. Now most pages get stuck at "Diffing in progress."

Requires a website to monitor changes!! Not directly in chrome.

It stuck in "Diffing in progress" most of the time. Any idea why this happens? The same happens in different PCs.

I've used the extension of years until one day it lost all of the pages i was monitoring and now looses them every hour or so.

Extension keeps losing the list of tracked/monitored site. I add monitors and they don't "stick". Last for a few days and I have to remonitor them. Really frustrating.

Stopped working properly a few weeks back. It *sometimes* sorta works if you toggle it off and on, but even then the diffing never actually completes anymore.

Since this does not work anymore are there any alternatives that are as good as this was for free?

No longer working

Used to work perfectly until it needed to be repaired (which reset it), now whenever I try and replace the audio "bell.ogg" with something custom; it crashes my browser and the extension needs to be repaired which resets it again :(

it was working goo till now. You have to refresh it multiple time for it to work, defeats the purpose of the extension

it works for what it does, hate how theres no way to click the link after a site has changed and only an option to compare webpages. Also on macs, this eats your ram.

Getting every time "Diffing in progress" it was working fine but since last month it looks like totally out of order. Can you please fix the issue ?

Ive used this extension for years on a couple of websites I like to monitor. Same sites, same monitor data. Lately it just tells me there was a change, yet doesnt show anything. Just swirls. I have to refresh the page and at that point I lose any data notifying me of what changed. Ive unmonitored, then re-monitored to try to fix. Came here thinking maybe app needs updated. SOmething not working anymore

Works great for waht im using it for . I have 1 question,what is desktop notification option ?should show alerts when i have chrome closed?

It mostly does what I need it to do. I really really wish there were a volume option for the sounds though, its crazy loud.

Would be perfect if it offered synchronization between devices.

Stopped auto-checking monitored websites in Chrome 70.0.3538.110. Please check. Extension is set to automatically check every minute. Last check on monitored websites is 4 hours+ ago. Clicking on "Check All Now" does nothing either. Last checked is still 4 hours ago after clicking.

This works great and is exactly what I was looking for. The only issue I've noticed is that occasionally it suddenly reports every single one of the monitored pages as having changed, when actually none of them have changed. I think the issue may occur after a Chrome update has been applied. I've only seen the issue a handful of times, and I've been using the extension for several months. I have not noticed the extension hogging excessive memory or CPU but will be keeping an eye out for that after reading others' reviews. Currently, the extension is using about 90MB of memory, and it is monitoring about 35 pages.

I tried this one several times over last 2 years. While using it I noticed in Chrome Task Manager it is using 2.5GB of RAM for monitoring just 7 web pages. The "show differences" page is buggy and hangs. I replaced this extension with a tool which uses under 1MB of memory.

Does the desktop notification actually work? Everything else is A perfect.

I'm using this to detect a change in a particular element on some webpages and it works great. I found it a bit awkward that I had to link to an online sound file for custom sound alerts as I wanted to just use a subtle windows chime but I found links to the windows sound effects here: http://bheltborg.dk/Windows/Media/

A powerful tool, but ends up using over a gigabyte of RAM, slowing Chrome on my machine. I have to force it to close and restart the extension occasionally to counteract this.

Notifies you when there's no apparent change to the site and the selector tool is pointless.

Too many false positives.

Has stopped working by the looks of things :( Had to remove it and add it again to get it to work again.

The desktop notifications doesn't even work. A number pops up on the monitor but when i click it it still looks the same. Please fix!

Works alright, although I cannot see desktop notifications either. At least the sound notification works, except when I'm away from my PC... Great extension nonetheless, thank you!

The best thing is the ability to use CSS-style selectors to narrow the check down to specific area(s) of the page.. that makes it get 5 stars from me. Works great! Improvement request; if you could add a customisable delay for the test, so that pages can render in extra data via an Ajax call that would help with sites like Quidco.

No longer get the notifications banner in the corner... frequently miss the small box on the address bar extension.

Page Monitor worked for a few days. Now, I can no longer add more pages to monitor. I cannot view updates or check pages. The one thing I can do is open the pages that I want monitored. Updated note, August 15, 2017: Absolutely no function after that initial run. There is a clumsy work-around -- you can go into options and click on each monitored site. In that regard, it works like a bookmarks list.

would give 5 star if there was a time stamp in the notification of when the page updated. Hope for one to be added soon!

Page Monitor used to be perfect, but now whenever I get a notification for a website it says "Page Updated" with the Chrome logo instead of the actual link to the site.You now have to take an extra step and make an extra click to get to the website link.

It doesn't save the pages across devices and on many pages it says a HUGE part was changed, when the only change was in one word or paragraph. Sometimes it indicates changes that aren't visible in the user interface and thus not relevant to me. However, it's non-intrusive unlike other extensions.

What's the difference between "Page Monitor" and the extension "Distill Web Monitor"? Page Monitor sometimes has a delay of minutes (even with the option 5sec) or even needs you restart Chrome.

Chrome 50 added an option for desktop notifications that's required for the notification 'until closed' feature in Page Monitor to work. The option 'requireInteraction' needs to be set to 'true' for notifications to stay visible until manually closed. Reference: https://developer.chrome.com/apps/notifications

Great extension. However, i found that running page extension kept making my Wifi Router disconnect and restart. Only once i turned off page monitor, did my internet and wifi connectivity go back to normal. Friends had the same problem.

Doesn't work. I've tried it twice and didn't get any alert unitil i manually refreshed the page.

It's very annoying choosing the element because some websites have Chat boxes on the bottom right, covering the Option to pick an element. Needs to be changed. Other then that been doing well. Maybe make shorter interval times as well

This one WORKS! But VisualPing does not work for me on eBay or Gumtree (not enough options, useless, triggers for no reason). Only PageMonitor does. I'm using CSS selectors with pseudo classes in PageMonitor and it works wonders :)

Bug: The Check interval time drifts instead of staying where you set the slider. Otherwise, it does the job.

This is great, I would love if it had a volume control on the alert noise.

I have tried newer extensions of all kinds but I keep coming back to this extension. It's accurate, usually fast and the only thing I think it sucks at are on the sound notifications. Other than that, it's just a really great tool to monitor pages.

I Very Much prefer Page Monitor to Visual Ping. PM is less obtrusive and it gets the job done just fine.

I just noticed that Page Monitor extension has automatically upgraded to Visualping. As a result, the entire list of pages i was tracking through Page Monitor extension have been lost. Can you please help me recover my pages list please?

Page Monitor meets most of my needs and is easy to use. Today, Visuaping forced an update and replaced the Page Monitor App, much like it did a few months ago. I much prefer Page Monitor. Please don't fix something that isn't broken. I am happy that I was able to easily import all of my links, as I had them saved from an export in case this happened again. Importing and putting my setting back was quick, painless, and simple.

Thank you for allowing users to download this again! Until the Custom Mode selector is implemented into VisualPing rather than the screenshot tool, I will not be updating.

Love it. I use this constantly to grab items in a store with very limited stock. I've been very successful thanks to this extension. VERY glad VisualPing kept it around, as I was super unhappy to see them force users to 'upgrade' to their new extension. VisualPing: I understand if you'll need to cease development of this extension, that's fine. It's excellent as-is. Please don't force users to upgrade to the VP extension again, that was really uncool.

Took a little poking around before I figured out how to set advanced options for desktop notification. Once I did, worked great!
