Works good, but cannot delete whitelist, because can't scroll down to the bottom of the page and covered by the contact bar in in extension settings. So if you add something to the whitelist, it's stay there forever.
Breaks some websites, for example booking.com. When you search flights and select a flight nothing happens if you have this extension enabled. It took me a long while of disabling all my extensions to realize that it was this extension the one that was breaking it and not the website's fault. I'm sure it breaks other sites in the same manner.
It works mostly but there's no action against websites that block functionality until you accept cookie prompts, so many websites won't function and have no scroll bar which makes the use of the addon more annoying than the actual cookie prompts on these occasions.
Doesn't block anything.
Doesn't block cookies and for some reason requires access to my browsing history. Why? Who knows.
At first it was working, but over time it stopped working on around 50% of the websites. Now some websites doesn't even work if the extension is enabled. That is why I had to uninstall
Works. Got rid of the annoying Accept Cookies pop up!
Never noticed much benefit from it or any change whatsoever - other than silently blocking me from ordering online delivery from some websites. I had assumed they all stopped delivering in my area (per the website's on-screen notices I would get). Only much later, after some investigation, did I find that it was actually this pos extension that was blocking me!
Worked for a while. At a certain moment I noticed that some websites were malfunctioning in strange ways (i.e. unable to scroll, nothing loaded in some pages). I've discovered that in incognito mode there was no impact. Removed all cookies, disabled 3rd party cookies, etc, to discover that in fact it was this extension that broke those websites. Uninstalled, installed back to write this review, uninstall again.
Works not so well. I go to this website: https://pen.org/pen-heim-grants/ When I open thee 2021 Grant Receipts, the website directly turns grey and I cannot see the website further. When I go to the website: https://www.alc.manchester.ac.uk/ The website directly turn blank. Please repair. Thank you. (I just uninstall and turn to "I don't care about cookies" extension. This works well.)
works great! some sites don't work but that's to be expected so can't complain. any plans to make this project open source?
Promising so far (april 2022)
Scroll Issue: Dude, make it scroll properly in the options!!!! I can't see the whitelist, nor edit it! I have to set the page zoom to 50% to see the entire page.......... Jesus! ______________________________________ Disqus Issue: Jesus, it's removing the Notification module of the Disqus web plugin!! FIX IT!!!!
Apparently it seems to work very well, in contrast to other extension which are "hyped". What a pleasant surprise.
Brilliant. Worst thing about internet is Cookie notices - pointless!
Doesn't work!
I love this extension and the idea behind it, it's really changed my browsing experience. However, there is an issue with some websites where it just won't load the website at all until i turn the extension off. Would love if this issue was fixed, but still a great extension!!
Not yet tested but funny that I need to be even looking for extension like this in the first place. **** these EU and others ruining internet.
This extension doesn't work at all. I still get all the same pop ups and warnings as I always have. I'm uninstalling it. Don't waste your time.
I'd always just 'read around' the banner without clicking 'accept', like a chump; but now I'm stymying data-miners left and right. [that's right *healthline*, go suck a lemon] Team Ben! Rah, rah!
did block facebook consent request for me now so byebye just update these
Doesn't really work. A lot of sites just break
This extension does what it is supposed to offer. What an incredible masterpiece made to help others.
Im currently using the default settings and it seems hit or miss whether or not it actually works.
It blocks helpful popups on sites like Etsy or Allegro, but not only that - after removing it, consent window on Etsy still disappears and breaks the page.
Works well, but then I realized that it blocked Etsy shipping labels from popping up, so that is a no go unless I figure out a way to exclude Etsy.
I can't see the list due to banner on the bottom on high resolution monitor.
I've been using this extension for some time and have to say it is very good. Never had any issues with it, and it makes browsing so much easier without being pestered by those annoying cookie notifications all the time.
awesome job!
Does as advertised, not come across many websites this doesn't work on
Doesn't work on stackexchange.com
When it works, it works very well. Unfortunately there are some sites that it is not only incompatible with, but actively detrimental to. It will send it into a bootloop where it will continually refresh the page after a few seconds, and no amount of waiting will allow the page to finish loading or let you scroll through. This wouldn't be such a problem if it were possible to add sites to a whitelist, but the whitelist section in the options page is inaccessible due to the banner at the bottom of the page. A semifunctional workaround is to disable the 'Automatically click on a "dismiss notification" button, if it exists:' option, which has so far allowed access to some sites which would otherwise be affected by the issue at the cost of the extension working at diminished effectiveness globally. If the ability to edit the whitelist is fixed, or alternatively whatever is causing the issue in the first place is found and solved, I'll happily change my rating to five stars.
It's good but will work in only around 70% of the site I' d say
Thank you for making this. I hope your program gets added to many ad blockers.
I didn't give it a full try, but when I told it to do its magic, immediately, on bbcnews.com, it didn't work.
Absolutely love it. Works flawlessly almost all the time - I would like to add etsy to the whitelist as the extension blocks features to do with adding items to favourites, but the footer bit on the extension options page covers the box where I'd do that! Any way around that? At the moment I just click off the extension when I'm using etsy but it would be nice to use the whitelist feature. Thank you to the dev for this very useful and helpful extension.
Had to uninstall this as it's become near enough useless recently. Very few cookie notices are being blocked anymore. The vast majority are getting through so pointless. Good idea but seems to have been circumnavigated quite easily.
It works ok occasionally , but one glitch. When you add websites to whitelist, there is no option to remove them. The information given at the bottom page probably blocks the remove button
Nice. Would give it 5 stars if the whitelisting was swifter and did not require a specific whitelist entry for each subdomaind. E.g. whilelisting "xyz.com" or "*.xyz.com" should automatically whitelist also "abc.xyz.com". Would be even nicer if you could right-click the icon and have e.g. "whitelist '*.thisdomain.com'" accessible already there in the menu.
Sir, you are a hero thank you for making this
Took 3 seconds of my time and no more annoying cookie preferences that take up an intrusive amount of webpage real estate. Sorry PayPal!!!
Works perfectly. Thank you very much!
We all know what "....and other similar technologies..." means in Cookie use notices. There was a day, not along ago, that Cookies helped the visitor. Now they "and other similar technologies" are used for different reasons. If you, dear Reader, do what cookies and other similar technologies do, we'd be charged with Stalking - and that is what these do now days. They Stalk, Monitor, Record and Control (SMRC pronounced 'smirk') the visitors web browsing and devices. If it were not for people like Ben Cheshire, and others like him we might as well shut our stuff down and take pen and paper to task. Thank you Ben Cheshire for the hard work you put in to help us protect ourselves from shysters, peeps and perverted SMRC'ers. You may have next week off with pay :) ~i~
I found out through the process of elimination that this picece of junk was blocking all my redirects, which gave me a blank page and also some the body of a web page, like start here etc.
Works like a charm
Works like a charm!
It worked theguardian.com for the first three surfs but the fouth link and I have the big cookie policy notification taking up more that half my screen with the only option to accept. It is not going away. The first three were very slow , about 3 seconds or longer to disappear. This extension is no good.
Great extension, finally something that works
it really blocked a cookie notice that adblock plus can't handle!
Very useful! This functionality should be included with ad blockers as these pop-ups are getting more intrusive than your average adverts on non-sketchy websites!
Works with some websites but still see cookie notices/banners on others. For example https://www.freeapkbaixar.com
Thank you.
Works good to block the notices. However, it also blocks cookie recipes on sites. Search for cookies on http://withlovefrommom.xyz No cookie recipes show up. Disable the plugin and they show.
Works perfectly and I commend the developer for creating this most useful tool. Like everyone else who spends a lot of time on the Internet, having to click through cookie warnings is almost as annoying as all of the popups out there. Thank you for making this app available to the public.
Fantastic, even if it only stops some of these annoying pop ups it's worthwhile. Great work!
the first extension of its kind to work in Opera. excellent work
Thanks so much Ben! I'm realizing now how much I really despised these cookie notices. In addition to the statistics that Ben Steed mentioned, you could calculate how much time has been saved by not having to click away these notices. Assuming it takes about 0.5s per notice, I can see this piling up quickly. Would be fun to see. =)
Love it! Great work. Would like to see statistics as to how many of these notices get blocked without my knowledge.
Awesome extension. I absolutely despise cookie and GDPR warnings. They are intrusive and annoying and have ruined the internet. Been looking for an extension that blocks them for ages as none of the adblock extensions i've tried work This works well for most websites. Unfortunately there are a few website that this doesn't work on like techcrunch.com but hopefully that will be fixed in a future update
Worked perfectly! Thank you. Must have along with adblocker, mining blocker from now on.
Works great!
Great work Ben! This extension works all day.
