One time payment and it is free to use it for your whole life. This is exactly what I am expecting for services these days while they are switching to subscription models. This extension will improve your productivity much more than you would expect. Great app
Non free anymore.
I bought this extension for every single computer I ever used. Literally. Every. Single. One. I cannot imagine working without it. It's so simple and yet so goddamn useful, can't believe nobody in Google ever thought about this (goes to show once more how much they ignore their customers) Just purchased it for my newest job's computer so that I can be more efficient. Thank you once again for a great addition, you rock!
I love this app and have recommended that to many of my colleagues. I can no longer imagine working in a browser without this feature. Just try it and you will quickly become addicted to this extension.
One of the must-haves extension. I've been a loyal user of this extension since the last 5+ years, and it's perfect. It's like the salt in food, you won't realise unless it goes missing. I did try other apps too, but this felt by far the most direct and necessary and hence now a paid member now too. I did face an issue, but Robert promptly helped me resolve it as well. Thanks and cheers man.
Mandatory Extention Its has been a pain to switch between two tabs when you have 20+ tabs open. This extention solves this problem and does it well.
I really like AltQ - it’s simple yet powerful tool that helps me with switching between the learning and the coding tab.
Very buggy. After switching to a different Chrome window (same session/profile), it loses track of previous tabs in all windows. Other extensions handle this better
Been using it for years and love it.
Same functionality exists in multiple other extensions for free, no payment required.
It seems the update published earlier today botched the extension. Now when using my assigned shortcut, I get a pop-up with "You've already paid for this extension. Please enjoy your paid features". It just made me realize how much I love this extension, and how painful it is when it doesn't work. Hope a new update gets released soon fixing this bug! EDIT: the bug is now fixed, so changing it back to 5 stars! By far one of the most useful extensions; literally use it dozens of times every day. Thank you Or and Dev team!
Amazing extension that I can't live without. The last version though is a bit slower :(
I'm getting constant messages in a popup of: "You've already paid for this extension. Please enjoy your paid features." Can we get this fixed? Seems the latest release has broken things badly.
So simple so smart! Great job
I did pay the $1 for it because switching to the previous tab is a must for me. But I immediately regretted paying. The reaction time is annoyingly slow; I mean, I press the shortcut, and then every other time, the tab change happens 1-2 seconds later. Why?? I installed "CLUT" extension instead which doesn't have this problem and is free.
Awesome app!
This extension is a very useful productivity tool. I am always switching between tabs as I work. It is pretty convenient to be able to be able to go back to my email as I am using other tabs.
Love the extension, but it stops working every few days-weeks, and I have to uninstall/reinstall and log in to get it to work again. Annoying.
There are many extentions like this one but they all do not work at all ! This one works very well
I have paid for this, but the continued having to uninstall reinstall, wait for an email sometimes that takes hours is rather annoying. I just need it to work and not stop working all the time.
Great Extension!!! Does what it says, unlike others. Quit wasting time trying to find a free one. Spend the $1! :)
Does what it says. Realised how painful it was using many tabs and not having this when it was blocked by the paywall. Worth a buck for sure.
UPDATE!! I looked into STRIPE and it does seem to be a genuine system. So when I rebooted my laptop, after checking out drivers for the problems I've been having, the ALT-Q payment request appeared again. So I was happy to cough up the $1 as the programme really DOES work well! You receive a payment confirmation immediately and a 'Thank you' email from Or, which is a nice touch. An invaluable, time saving, utility when you need it!! initial Email: I haven't used this for ages but when I had reason to use it for a specific purpose, a time back, I was very impressed . It works a treat!! I just started my laptop this evening and it was acting up, 'freezing'. I eventually looked behind my main Chrome Browser screen and saw a 'poster' on my desktop, that self launched, which asks for a one-off lifetime payment of $! (I notice that the programme's creator released a new version today and I guess this request is part of that release, which is fair enough. . It's worked so well I'd give $3 for a lifetime BUT I'm not comfortable with the payment system as I've not heard of 'Stripe' which is what I think the payment system was. I can't get the window back again. I suppose I could restart. I'd be more comfortable donating with Paypal TBH. Maybe this is possible?
I've been using this extension for years now and always lament using a browser without it, great tool!
I can't work without this extension. If you're a many-open-tab person like me this is a lifesaver and sanity saver. Best $1 you'll ever spend. Thanks to the authors.
Great tweak!
trash that this has become paid. switch to "recent tabs" for free
This is a must have app to achieve last used tab switching in Chrome.
Once you go Alt + Q, there is no other ... Really handy! Worth the developer commission and effort Thanks
I have been using this extension in combination with the following Autohotkey script to be able to toggle the two most recent tabs with a normal Ctrl+Tab operation :) #IfWinActive ahk_exe chrome.exe ^TAB:: Send !q +^TAB:: Send !q #IfWinActive
Just lovely extension. Thank you.
It's so rare that software just works. It's even more rare that software just works without needlessly complicated configuration. This software just works without any configuration. Totally worth the $1! Thank you very much!
Works great. Makes it much easier to surf the web. Well worth $1. As other users say, be sure to uninstall and reinstall if you were using in the past. I recommend combining it with a desktop app such as X-Mouse Button control so that you can achieve the same functionality from your mouse. For example, I simulate pressing "Alt Q" when I click (actually click, not just scroll) the middle, scroll wheel, of the mouse. To me, this makes a lot more sense so that you don't have to keep your hands on the keyboard at all times.
Well worth the $1. Be sure to uninstall/reinstall, pay, then restart Chrome to activate.
It is my pleasure to CONFIRM that re-installing gets it working again. It is also great to be able to support Or Schiro - the humble Author of this great extension. I guess it bears the notion of a forced payment, which is alright just could have been communicated a bit better - for example a message like "Hello, thanks for using ... you can keep using for free for the next 3 months and in this period of time you will be able to decide whether you like it enough to keep it for the lifetime price of $1" - something like that :) No sure messages like that are even allowed by Chrome, so please don't hate me or anything :)
I like the extension as until recently it was working nice like it should. However yesterday it suddenly stopped working (somehow only with this extension I had some issues to allow it on all sites and to access the settings of it). Therefore I tried to remove it again here in chrome web store and to enabled it again. However now I would need to pay for it again and as I wasn't sure if it works now this time I switched to another free extension which which I could achieve this as well. btw with the other one it worked. I don't want to blame the author of this extension, as I'm a frontend developer too I know many strange things can go on in the browsers. However this with the payment maybe could be improved if possible.
Best spent money ever - great app!
Love the extension, but can't seem to be able to install it in another Chrome profile. Is there a way to indicate that I've already paid? If not, I'm okay paying again (it's not expensive) I just wondered.
This made my life easier. Definitely a must have.
I won't be very original, really -- the best $1 spent :) Can't imagine how much frustration this extension has delivered me from.
Great valuable app (why isn't is core to Google Chrome?). Only issue is that the transition from an unpaid to a paid extension was handled very poorly.
I LOVE this extension and can't live without it. I can't imagine why Chrome doesn't have this included!! This extension used to be free, and now it's paid but I happily paid for it. It's simple and it works.
The best extension for what you want to do, and that's exactly this - to switch two most recent tabs with a simple hotkey. Unlike other similar extensions that offer a plethora of features you didn't ask for and never wanted which can't be disabled, or are mapped with a very unconventional hotkey that cannot be reassigned, this one is flawless. I have been using it for something like 3-4 years, and only recently it started asking with a popup to pay for it (it still allowed me to use it without paying). I never, NEVER paid for any of this stuff as I always found a free alternative, but since I've been using this extension for so long without any issues, and since the price is so fair, I decided to do the right thing and pay for it. Thank you very much for this extension developer team, I am sure I will keep using it for a very long time. God bless.
Does what it says on the tin. Simple; just works.
Why does it require access to manage some third-party website data related to payments???
I really likes this until it added a new permission for extensionpay.com without any explanation. I'm not giving away permissions without understanding why they're needed. Uninstalling.
It somehow automatically installed in my chrome browser and started popping up a tab asking to pay for it's usage $1 every time I start the browser! Google, please block that SCAM! I never intended to use that extension! Frustrated! you've let this one running on your store.
Always the best
Loved it on Windows Machine - Can anyone tell me how it works in Mac? Command+Q, Alt+q, Ctrl+q nothing works - Macbook Air 2019
Have no idea how other people switch between two previously used tabs. Or maybe most people don't because if they do, ALT+Q is the fastest way to do this, otherwise they have to move the mouse and do the clicking by themselves which of course isn't efficient at all. So thankful that this extension exists. Been using it since forever.
I can't live without this extension! Like alt-tab but for browser tabs.
Fantastic! After years of using Chrome, as my tab hoarding behaviour became worse and worse, I've resorted to using a tab-searching extension to find the tab I want. It worked for a while, but the limitation quickly became apparent. I'm typing up a document in one tab, and I want to find a reference that's the 99th tab out of 200 tabs. Needless to say, going back and forth was a massive chore; I would have to search for the reference tab, then the document tab... rinse and repeat. This extension is absolutely fantastic. Plus, this way it keeps the tab-cycling ctrl+tab shortcut. I was about to switch to Firefox, but they only let you pick one or the other natively. Thank god for this extension!!!
One of the best $1's I've ever spent. Works very consistently, thus far. Will update / write a new review if it ever doesn't... but, yeah 5/5 stars
SO FREAKING NICE!!
Finally! Thank you! This extension + the autohotkey script below make ctrl+tab work the way it should have always worked! Well worth the $1!!! Autohotkey script: ; Chrome context #IfWinActive ahk_class Chrome_WidgetWin_1 ; Set the shortcut key remapping ^Tab::Send !{q} ; Back to global context #IfWinActive
Thanks, my previous last tab switcher crapped itself last night over an update. to people who dont want to use alt+Q, you can switch this to anything you want in the Extensions>KeyboardShortcuts then scroll down to switch recent tabs and change alt+Q to whatever you want
opera
Love it!! Been using it for more than a year now I guess. Super helpful extension.
Best! Thanks you!
I love this extension. But it stopped working. I use Chrome at Linux, couldn't install the github version as instructed. Already tried to re-set the shortcut, but nothing works :((((
Essential to a google chrome experience. I almost stopped using chrome completely when it became a pay extension.
Mine also stopped working around the same time as everyone else's. Easy fix: just open up the EXTENSIONS, scroll all the way down, click on "Keyboard Shortcuts" in the bottom right, scroll down to "Switch most recently used tabs in window," then re-set it as ALT-Q. I'm not sure why it stopped working, but it's an easy fix. Still the most useful extension in existence! Thanks!
Use it probably 50x per day! Fantastic work - honestly why isn't this on Chrome by default
Loved it, but stopped working for me. Iǘe tried resetting the shortcut and reinstalling the extension to no avail.
I LOVE this extension so much that I paid for it.
Paying $.99 for this is like the modern day version of paying for WinRAR. Just do it if you have a job... really.
It's suddenly stopped working for me. I completely rely on this. It makes me the fastest at my job and ahead of the game. It's like losing an arm. Please fix it soon?!
Good extension; but stopped working after chrome 64 update
Saves me so much time! So easy to use! #Musclememory
This works well but for me it would be 5 stars if it could toggle between two tabs, each in a different window. I know I could drag the other tab to the same window but I often have multiple chrome windows opened on 2 monitors. A solve is to minimize all but the 2 windows of focus and alt-tab / cmd ` to switch between them, but the tab toggle would be great.
Great extension - this should be built directly into chrome. Alt-Tab is so important when switching windows - as such with tabs.
Donated - Use this plug-in everyday, why Chrome doesn't do this by default is beyond me...
Hard to find it in Store, but it's best in this class of small but daily usable extentions. Can't surf without it. Thanks!
Donated because this is exactly what I have been needed. Maybe create an Alt + W shortcut so that it can switch between all opened tabs. Otherwise, I love being able to jump between two previously used tabs. :) Just a little info about me: I am a college instructor that recently started using a Chromebook. It has so many limitations, especially when needing to use Office Suite products. However, this extension has helped me so much in many regards, so thanks!
could you please make it like recording only tab on which you spend considerabel time? so that it doesnt loose track just because i was searching/tabbing throught multiple open tabs fast to find correct one
The best I need!
Only switches between ***one*** last tab, back and forth. You cannot really press it several times to go to 2nd or 3rd most recent tab.
Exactly what I was looking for. At work I have a lot of pinned tabs and regular tabs open that I'm constantly switching back and forth between. This allows me to skip all those tabs in between and swap between the two tabs I'm working in.
" Switch to last focused tab on close" is not working!!!
Someone has finally done this! I've wanted this for sooooo long!
I have been waiting on this my friend for SOO LONG!!! Why did it take so long for this functionality to catch on?! I hope you got a patent and make millions off this little extension ! That is, as long as you don't start charging for it... But you wouldn't do that!
A must have for me. I can't survive a day without this after using it for a while now.
Keep it simple! Thank you :)
Moved from another browser/computer which had this built in, this works just as well. I configured it to CTRL+1.
No idea what this extension is actually doing. Using the shortcut key to switch to previous tab just gives really weird and inconsistent results. Changing tabs in one window and then try to switch to a previous tab takes me to a completely different window that I haven't used in ages.
thank you for this. I was using another similar addon for some time, but this is a better replacement.
AWESOME!
So far so good! I configured my key to be Ctrl+Q and I switch like hell :-D
So simple and one of the first extensions I install if starting from scratch. And it gets the default shortcut right so you don't need to do anything. Perfect.
A very limited implementation of MRU switching.
Should be a built in feature, it is awesome!
Essential tool. I changed the shortcut to ALT-A because accidentally hitting CMD-Q instead of ALT-Q quits Chrome on a Mac. Happened to me a few times. Note that changing the shortcut is not possible from this particular extension's own settings - it must be done using the "Keyboard shortcuts" feature of Chrome itself - on the bottom right of the chrome extensions list page. One annoyance is that it doesn't work if your focus is in the url bar. You must defocus by clicking on the page before the shortcut will work. Alternatively, clicking the icon for the extension will perform the switch to other tab.
It can open recent tab on close current one. Awesome!
only just started using it but so far it seems to be really helpful
Wow, great feature!
This plugin was causing my Gmail tab to become incredibly slow. Its library injected.js keeps trying to do a cross subdomain operation with contentDocument. Besides that it's a great idea for a plugin.
Google should pay you for this simple and important improvement to their browser! Well done Sir!
You need this. :D ...is what my face looked like less than a second after install. Provides a massively essential function with no hassle.
Love the working option "Switch to last focused tab on close" !
Can't live without it. Works on Windows or Linux flawlessly.
Simply cool
I try to find a hotkey like Alt+Tab (instead of a long one Ctrl+Shift+Tab), and this extension smart enough, Alt+Q :). It works well for me. Thank you, Robert Orzanna.
Excellent!
