It used to be a significant extension, sadly I'll have to uninstall it since it started to become a pay-for-use app.

Worked fine until they decided something as basic as supporting dark mode had to be paid for. Back to Pocket or Instapaper

I wonder how many people would pay for such a niche feature. Doesn't feel worth it even when they give you early bird price. Pics are often rendered awkwardly or not rendered at all. And to remind you, reader view is a builtin feature on apple safari.

Much better than other extensions in clearing the page of unwanted advts, etc. Even allows access to text content behind pay walls. A must have/ must download extension.

I can't find any extension better than this. It worths my money to upgrade to premium. Thank you so much for this wonderful extension!

Used to be free,, but now not

Putting a paywall on some style features that used to be free (such as font size, page width and background) is greedy. Would have been understandable if the paid features were new extra ones but locking current style customization is truly money-hungry.

All Theme Settings are pro feature now , Well Done !

it's great add-on, I love it, but there are minor issue for me, when I use hotkey "alt+r" , it shows strange pages differ from mouse clicking clearly button loaded open pages.

Super helpful, opens many articles otherwise blocked by paywalls. It's so much easier reading without all the clutter of ads, too.

The best reader extension on the chrome web store.

I disabled the extension because of the annoying "Open Clearly" popup. Probably won't use this again unless it gets removed.

The "open clearly" button that pops up in the top right corner is in the way. Kind of counter-intuitive to the purpose of an add on like this one.

It used to be a bravo reading tool, but as a recent update, the extension pops on every webpage by hinting you "see it in Clearly". IT RUINS EVERYTHING. see it Clearly and I uninstall your extension. fianlly, it is clear.

This used to be my go-to reader, but the Nov. 1st updated added a floating "see it in Clearly" box that gets in the way of website navigation. Unfortunately, had to disable. It also seems like the reader isn't nearly as effective as it used to be following this update. I recommend using Fika in it's place - works similarly, especially now that Clearly doesn't have the same compatibility it used to.

Up until the 1st of November this app sat quietly in the background, waiting for me to call it forward. Now there is a black tab, top right corner, reminding me of its existence. I click it to close it but it comes back on every page. The issues with this are (a) it's super annoying (b) it covers up important notices from webapps I use and (c) it's really annoying. Unless this is fixed ASAP, I will be disabling Clearly.

1. Lot of publishers block clearly from working 2. Why does this top right page "open clearly" default now in every webpage? It's terrible. It's where developers place important profile related things for other websites 99% of the time, i.e. Banks, school websites, and more. Get rid of it. It's TERRIBLE. At least make it a toggle feature.

I am thankful that i found "Clearly reader" extension, which is in one word amazing. It's the definition of minimalism and i am all for it. Thank you developr(s) for making our browsing experience "Clear".

Best reader extension I have found. But it would be even better if I could highlight stuff and store it. I can survive without it, especially with the save as document option, but it would be even more perfect then :)

Undoubtedly the best reading mode extension on market. Two small requests: 1. Could you add an option for toggling between left and justify alignment? 2. Is it possible to use customized font? If not could you please add Source Han Serif/Noto Serif CJK to the font selection options? Thanks a lot!

Amazing! This is the reader mode for Chrome I've been looking for for years. It's obvious that a lot of love went into this.

Useful and simple, with just the basic functions I really need. I liked a lot the voice reading option and shortcut. And it really eliminates background graphics as Firefox or past versions of Chrome didn't.

Impressed. I was fed up with a different reader I had been using for years. So, I added several different readers to test them all out. Clearly Reader is beautiful, clean, and very functional for my needs.

It's a perfect and super helpful extension. However there is a little bug in translating a word or sentence. the pop-up screen goes up to the page.

when i select some text then it goes upper and upper for translate strip again n again ....

I used to copy/paste articles into Word to share with my team. In Word I could delete a portion of the article, change sizing or spacing then slap a "excerpt from ABC" at the top. I could then print out the articles or email it as an attachment. It was a bit of a chore and sometimes the paste would show up odd due to the advertisements. It was worth the hassle to share the articles. Enter CLEARLY. 1. Push Clearly button 2. Download to doc (or PDF) 3. Done - That is it. I can't describe how much this makes my life easier.

great extension. it will get you rid out of irritating advertisement. And, it gives very fluent design, black background. very useful extension. if you read extensively on internet, then is made for you.

Does everything clearly did before from Evernote -- allows you to read and copy interesting information in minimal time. Perfect.

Great Chrome extension, helps Chrome rival the built-in Microsoft Edge Reader mode that blows Chrome out of the water. Only way to see Chrome's half-baked mode is using the flag chrome://flags#enable-reader-mode but this is way better.

Outsanding Reader!

For several years, I've been using Clearly, a Chrome extension from Evernote. But it has been moved from the Chrome web store. Clearly Reader is an excellent alternative and seems better with speak function and day/night mode switch.

It was perfect until the new update prevented the width from increasing past 120%, which barely stretches half the screen. I hope it reverts back to how it was previously.

Of all the Chrome reader extensions I've tried this is the one I ended up sticking with. It's clean, simple to use and has a good selection of fonts to choose from. The outline feature is a great idea and works well with the slight contrast between the body of the text and the background, an effective design choice that aids focus and sets this reader apart from the rest. The fullscreen toggle is a welcome addition, too.

Privacy nightmare. Sends all your browsing data back to Clearly. Find a reader which operates locally. Privacy policy reads: "clearlyreader.com built the clearlyreader.com service (including all apps we provided) as a Commercial service.The app does use third party services that may collect information used to identify you....third party service providers used by the app: Google Play Services, Firebase Analytics, Fabric, Crashlytics, Intercom, Sentry, Log Data."
