this thing is stupid. i'm trying to highlight terms on the page. and it does that. but if you have an open box of keywords - it erases the word as it finds it. its gone, just gone. its like it turned it into a find and replace, its not white, its just missing now. i think this is what i wanted in a program if it just highlighted things. but to make it vanish too? that's stupid. i don't get that.
didn't work for me
shortcuts were not working, tried everything - finally shortcut worked one time, but could only search one term. Useless :(
I love this tool, very simple and a must for every serious researchers out there looking to save time finding content with having to read the whole texts. Keep up the great work! ^_^
Great Chome Extension!
Didn't do anything at all after clicking on the icon, even after a browser restart
Doesn't work. Tried reopening my browser, Still nothing. Useless.
It is super helful overall when you have been working for hours and are tired. This really helps to keep you focus on what you are searching in long texts
MAKE MY WORK LOT EASIER THEN BEFORE . BEST PART ABOUT THIS IS EASY TO USE AND SEARCH VARIOUS THINGS JUST BY TYPING THEM ALTOGETHER INSTEAD OF TYPING THEM SAPERATLY.
wow
Qnother extension using ridiculously generic styles in it's stylesheets like 'ui-button', which clashes with existing pages and causes things to mess up! Please prefix something unique to your style names to reduce the chances of them clashing with pages.
not working after 100 clicks
Would be great if the scroll bar could also show the results, so you can go straight to the part of the document where most results converge
OK.
Doesn't search multiple words in random order. Example Sentence: My name is David Would be nice to high light the words 'My' and 'David" at the same time
does not work when opening new pages in for example linkedin
It's exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!
Nothing happen when try to type Ctrl+Shift+A
search text is displaying only in one color not in different as claimed
Simple but works well. It would be better if it also had regex and it could find in all tabs at once. And I have an idea for this extension or a new one: While searching remove all lines except the lines that contain the desired words.
Best, Must!
didn't work for me at all
Finally, a multi - highlighter that actually works. You must RESTART the browser the first time to make it work.
Thankssssssssss alot you helped me alot <3 <3 <3
Add this to Chrome. At first it didn't seem to work, but a simple browser restart is required. First use seems functional. (Ctrl-Shift-A) is a nice quick access key combo. Especially for those mousing with their right hand. I enjoy options. It would be nice to see an options menu including color assignments by hex code or by color wheel, case sensitivity, a check box allowing me to search one letter if I desire, and the ability to use a speed key to find the next word with color change or red box around the currently selected focus. Throw in a dictionary/wiki/google-it link, ability to float or undock the module and this could be the winner for everyone. Quick experimenting I found that if I am able to assign colors. Looking at the page I type the first 10 words into the search bar. See all the colors and select the ones I like and delete the others. Be careful to only highlight the letters and not the space to the left or right of the word or the default color assignment will resume. Overall, it is a good tool. Thank you CCDevGroup for helping me accomplish the multi-word searching. The review is meant to be constructive. If you're unsure; try it out.
Was a pain to get started. I had to update chrome and restart before it would work. Otherwise is a decent tool
I would like to be able to distinguish word phrases so I might want to highlight "new phone" vs "old phone" instead of just 'new old phone'. Also, to those saying it doesn't work, try restarting chrome after installing.. And like others, being able to jump between found terms would be helpful (though for five stars being able to highlight word phrases as one color instead of just individual words is all I'd want)
Does exactly what I wanted. 5 stars when you don't have to delete all the text to make the highlight go away. Closing the search bar should make the color go away.
Not working at all, tried icon, tried CTRL+SHIFT+A, nothing happens. Removing, time wasted...
IT doesn't work when opening PDF files in chrome, which would be 90 percent of what I use it for.
Jump to matching terms please
Don't work
better word search than Multi-highlight offered by Alexius Lee
it is not working
It does not working. It's is a crap.
Can't handle large pages, i.e. Jenkins logs. Completely freezes after typing 2 letters...
No hotkeys, that's bad.
I found this is the best after trying many WordFinder-Highlighter extensions. July 1 2015
Works for me. (Linux Fedora 22, with Chrome 43, 2015.06.17) The only missing feature is you can't 'jump' to matching terms. i.e, it can't be used for 'navigation' like ctrl+f. It'd be great if one could jump to a sentence that contains the highlighted terms.
Works well. Just wish it would remember my last query when I open it so I can repeat the same search across multiple pages.
superb for searching through Salesforce debug logs
Belongs in the recycle bin. Why? Does not work regardless whether the browser is restarted page refreshed, uninstalled re-installed.
Great! You can multiple highlight by strings of letters.. So simple but but so needed. Thanks
Doesn't work at all. It's a pity since it would be very useful.
nice
Awesome. It helped me when I was doing research.
Doesn't seem to search within iframes.
This is a great extension. A real time-saver and very versatile. Thank you for this.
Love it. Just need the button to go to the next word and it would be perfect.
lacking features, should have separated colors for each keyword. and the searchbox should be permanent, or at least could be closed manually
Very Useful Thank you very much. Try to add Search enable when open text file in chrome.
Thanks, but the efTwo extension provides many more options.
Doesn't work at all for me!
Couldn't believe some one created this extension. Thank you, and keep it up :)
works less than half the time. so i rated it less than half of five stars
installs itself and wipes the pages I was working on.
nearly perfect, but exactly what I missed with google's chrome (and stopped me from using chrome). In Firefox you can highlight search terms with the google toolbar, chrome doesn#t have it - even that many users requested it... Now it's here. What I would love to see in the future: click on the word to search it in the text
I like to have customization. Pick my own colors and choose what the shortcut key will be instead of default(ctrl+Shift+a). Also, and arrow to lead you to the next word in the list. Maybe cool if works with existing finder for now until able to add next word button for now.
This was immediately helpful! Looks nice, too. Great idea.
keeps crashing every time I try to use the highlight function. (OSX 10.9.3)
1. After "copy & paste", need to Ctrl-Shift-A again to activate. Would be nice to have a "Go" icon. 2. Does not work with Chinese characters. 3. Thanks.
it does nothing!
Doing nothing, no search, no option page.
NEEDS THE PROMISED UPDATE!
Will not work for me!
I like the fact that I can just click the small icon but you should have arrows at the end of the highlighter to go to the next repeated word you are looking for on a webpage. Having to scroll long pages is no fun.
Works exactly as I needed it too.
regular expressions would be a very nice feature to have
awesome
Thank you to all the programmers in MultiHighlighter! I've been looking for something like this for a long time. I use this primarily to track the earnings report releasing date of the companies listed in the earning calendar. This extension has dramatically streamlined the keyword searching process for me. It's amazing how the developers of Google Chrome and Window's have neglected the importance of multiple keyword searching, but fortunately you guys have been able to spot the problem. Props to you all!
just trying to figure out how to use it exactly...
Search box would not open. Re-installed several times but no luck
Cumbersome and inflexible to use.
Very useful, thank you! Suggestion: enable search for phrases, perhaps by using quotation marks ("location service" would highlight this phrase in the same color) Also: it would be nice to chose different color ordering
Extension seems pretty good, but regular expression seems not to work (need to indicate that REGEX is to be used somehow??)
Great extension! I've been looking for something like this for a long time when keywording websites. I really like that it will find words on a page that are tucked away/hidden (think tabs, overlays, etc.) Looking forward to the updates.
Good but I'd like to be able to assign colours to words and then save the selection.
like it, but there're problems: 1, can't identify the location of the highlighted words in a very long page. Can it add marks at the vertical bar for the results, or will pressing F3 jump to the searched results? 2, sometimes ctrl+shift+A doesn't load the search bar. After having clicked toolbar icon for the search bar, ctrl+shift+A works again to hide and unhide the search bar. 3, can F3 keyboard shortcut be replaced by this extension for loading the search bar?
It's about time something like this was offered! Another tool to make digesting and/or finding information easier...so I can then do more important stuff, like watch Game of Thrones.
its almost what I want, but I also need the ability to include a space in my search because of the limitation of words needing to be greater than 2 characters. eg I cannot search for "entry: w ". Is there a way around this?
Excellent! I like it very much. The other great Find on page extension is F2, but this one is better because you can search *inside* any word. For ideas what to implement, look at the built-in Find functionality of the Maxthon2 browser (not in the newest Maxthon3, but M2).
Its good to identify the keywords on each page, but it would be a lot lot lot better if it counted each individual keyword that gets searched. If this becomes a feature, easily 5 stars.
A really useful addon, it restores some functionality I was missing from Maxthon. Thanks! A couple of requests/suggestions: - Add an option to buttonize each word so that they can be searched for on the page individually - Add behavior to search for strings of multiple words that are enclosed in quotation marks "" - Change the AppIcon to look more search-related (a magnifying glass or something), the current icon kind of clashes with my other icons aesthetically I would be happy to donate to make any of the above features happen. Good luck!
nice extension. saves me lots of time.
I use this extension to check web page keywords when working on Google AdWords. I also use it for quickly bringing focus to certain elements of a web page (or hiding sensitive information) for presentations.
