Thanks for fixing Chrome. Why is this not a vanilla option in Chrome?

Does exactly what I needed it to do: load google search in a new tab in Microsoft Edge.

This is the only "New Tab" redirect extension I could find that puts focus on the browser's address bar after the redirect. Thank you!

I like it but why does it say "Read your browsing history" under Permissions? Is that really necessary?

Needs to select all on the address bar, or not put the cursor there in the first place.

Needs an update to fix autofocus that used to work but doesn't now. Please update for 5 stars

Issue with it no longer auto selecting the whole URL when opening a new tab. So you cannot just start typing. Otherwise, words a treat! (v1.2 on Windows with Chrome 61)

Looks like on Chrome for mac when you open a new tab it still sets focus to the page you want, but it doesn't auto select the url so you cant start typing to search. E.g. if you press cmd + t, you get a new tab looking like this "|some.com" and when you type "apples" to search for "apples" the result looks like this in the URL bar: "apples|some.com".

This was great! Combined with a google theme from Stylish, it made my new tab amazing! Also much, much faster that 'new tab redirect'.

I was looking for a way to open the same URL with each new Ctrl-T while ALSO retaining the ability to type a Google search into the address bar (because that is my default behavior). This was just what I wanted!

Perfect! Super fast, light, and it even has a few options already installed.

Doesn't work in incognito. Worked the first time, then defaulted back to new tab page. Works fine out of incognito. I'll stick with "New Tab Redirect" for now.

It's WAY faster than "New Tab Redirect". I wonder when this will be built into Chrome? Seems like common sense to me.

It allows "about:blank" for new tabs! No more waiting for content to load before I can access the Internet!

Excellent. Had odd performance issues with "New Tab Redirect" which do not seem present in this extension. Plus, this extension highlights the omnibox! Brilliantly elegant! :)

Works great, except for the dealbreaker of not auto-highlighting or clearing the address in omnibox on Chrome 33 for OS X. Otherwise it is a nice little extension, fast and simple. Edit: After searching for an answer, I'm not sure it is even possible to auto-highlight the address in the omnibox. However, is it possible to clear the omnibox entirely for each new tab? That is the default behavior for Chrome's new tab page and it makes it very easy to immediately start a new web search.

Thank you! I just installed this. Just one permission, includes a drop down menu to access chrome://app, and it auto highlights the omnibox. While this may be a small thing, it was an extra step now removed. Oh yes, very fast indeed.

Very simple and fast, good alternative to the New Tab Redirect.

Good workaround-extension to get the "old" NTP apps page back. Ironically this is made well before the new NTP page was forced. :P

FAST!!!! Simple, easy, and REALLY REALLY FAST!!! I love it, I have it open the Apps (which it lets me select from a drop-down. I used several others (such as New Tab Redirect) and they had noticeable hesitations when opening, drove me crazy waiting a few extra seconds. This one is perfect!! Thank you!
