WHY is this not a default feature of Chrome? How am I just learning you have to download a feature like this? No mention of it unless you google it.
Well I added the extension but concerned because in other reviews the general understanding is that it asks you to re-log in when you add the extension but it did no such thing when I added the extension which is my worry....
When I add the extension, I get a notification saying I need to login to my Google Account. When I click on 'Sign in', nothing happens. I have no idea how to activate the extension now. Uninstalling.
Awesome
Not even usuable on a Chromebook due to how the account system is set up.
i love gogle
it spams me with sign in stuff
More like its spamming me then protecting me
SO GOOD
I'm already logged into the Chrome browser and into my Google account, I keep logging in but nothing even happen
good to
This extension was wonderful! It reminds me to use unique passwords. I have no idea why it lost support, it was wonderful! 2FA is not always supported, so stay safe from hackers!
Very useful, Thanks Google !!
Does exactly what it says it will, reliably.
Truly amazing.
Only needed it once and it did its job exceptionally well.
It's good for your account if you enter you google account, but we all know that Google stores and sells our data. Just read the ToC carefully. OwO
Great!
so good!
Who came from your google wallet/security key wallet XD XD!
4 stars because it open new tab not warning-popup, it makes me being annoyed. But anyway, it's a good idea. Thanks Google, wish it warning with pop up like a one of the selections.
this is Very useful and more importance for users
this conflicts with passwords already saved with my google account, google now asks me to sign in every time I recall a pw. nnoe of my saved pw on google sign me in any more. I never really had a problem with pw/s I just wanted to use this as a throwaway pw solution.
It previously alerted when I typed a password that was NOT my Google password. This was corrected by reinstalling the extension.
I changed my password but it still alerts me whenever I type my old password.
Great App!
There's no supoprt tab for this extension? I installed it b/c it says it's from Google, and I know that phishing attacks are probably one of the single worst problems for internet security, as there are many things intruders can do to trick you, so I figured since Google made this tool, I can trust it ... but as soon as I install it, it asks me to log in with my Google account? I'm already logged into the Chrome browser and into my Google account, anyone know why I would have to login again? Since Google made it, shouldn't it automatically recognize this? I guess maybe it uses OAUTH? I'm just not entirely comfortable doing this - I guess in my mind I imagine a hacker can imitate Google when I install this extension, and have me login and either get my password or rights to my account (some RATs or something). If anyone has any experience, or says that this is normal, it would be appreciated! I gave this 4 stars b/c it's not really a review, and it wouldn't be fair for me to leave a bad review when all I'm looking for is some insight or support, thanks in advance... BTW extensions like these are great ideas .... gotta protect from the evil phishers lol
sosososo good
it is good with it because it warns me and i have all google things its so fun with google
love it
not working
Doesn't warn for Google Suite for Business accounts. I guess they are not as important to protect as my personal one(where it works)
Great extension!
this extension really works
wonderful It help to know when i need to reset and know when i shouldnt type my passcode in!
There is a conflict operating with the current release of Google Chrome. It is no longer able to register that you confirmed your password and is constantly asking for the password to be re-entered. When will this be fixed? Where is the support page? Just because this is a google extension should not mean that there are special rules.
Simple and extremely efficient. I just with there was an options panel where you can control settings like which account it protects and reset passwords
There is no option to change the password that it should detect against phishing.
Works amazingly, period.
A must have to help recognize a phishing attack attempting to gain your Google password.
It'll be much better if there's an option for the extension to expire the password once it detects password has been keyed in on a fake sign in page. I cant put a review through my G Suite account. Its not working on G Suite account
This should be a default feature. Correction: this HAS TO BE a default feature. People who need it the most are those who don't know how to get the extension.
♥
خیلی عالی ممنون از ((گوگل)) حتما استفاده کنین چون یکی از روش های معمول هک کردن تو ایران همینه.که با .این افزونه مشکل تا حد زبادی حله
sometimes my goole stops working
thankas
good
it rocks
nice
Very useful, well coded, acts very fast. Feeling a little more secure,
I typed in the wrong password then hit enter, then password alert will remember the wrong password. There will then be no alerts when i type in the correct password in third-party website.
keep getting false positive on one site
Completely Idiotic... Why is it alerting me if i use my gmail/google username on any website??? Isn't the purpose is to prevent use of same password instead???? Does it expect me to remember a different username too?????
I love the Password Alert. It has helped me in great ways.
Love it cause of my tweaker thief stupid cuusin and hackers
Very good in what created for.
Any extension which improves security is worth having installed.I am happy to have it installed.
Works great, except for the fact it alerts you AFTER you enter your password and submit it. Perhaps this is a feature to prevent phishers to get around this extension and to motivate people to change their password, but still; a window of time for attackers is a window of opportunity to do some damage.
Anyone who UNDERSTANDS Security and Hacking will rate this 5/5
It works pretty well. What it does is this: when you first log in after changing your password this extension wakes itself a bit later and request you to sign in again in order to register your new password.
works pretty good!
Generating false positives after CAS pwd change. Does not provide supportive detail when triggered.
muy bueno,ya q permite asegurar bien la cuenta contra robos.
I am quite content having it does not mean all is well. Use common sense people. Use your security so as not to allow your I.D. to be stolen. Be vigil!
well
Since I have started using the extension I have changed my password but this still complains when I use my old one and not my new one...
I don't know why this Chrome extension is triggered whenever I enter an old Google password in another website when in fact I already changed it days ago.
I did not reallly work but hope it will soon
If I was to type my password into another website it would alert someone that this is my password for my gmail account, found it got in the way of browsing
Works as Advertised, perfectly!
dont trust it
Add support for multiple accounts. I have app accounts I would like to add as well.
Kudos to google for trying to help keep everyone safe. However you SHOULD inform people that this is not 100% safe, that it can be bypassed and that people still need to use common sense and be careful online. in addition im glad to see google continuously updating this app to fix exploits found by the community (up to 1.6 now, good show google. seriously. keep it up) if anyone reads this remember. this is not a foolproof extension. it will not be 100% effective. there are exploits and things to trick it. you still need to use common sense and be careful with your passwords!
This does not work well with organisations that use Google Apps and single sign on. We automatically set the same password on our Google Apps domain as for our single sign on systems. This extension then generates a warning every time we log on to a site that uses the same password. The extension needs to be more Google Apps aware to avoid this problem.
don't work
it is good
It is fantastic and it will prevent me a lot from the hackers.....
its good... hope its safe against phishing pages....! :)
Great idea! but it must be part of chrome browser or gmail account and not as a separate extension if possible!
A simple and smart idea but could the websites simply copy the check mark of approval making it seem as if it is secure? I just need to make sure...
Simple and silent security for your Google account.
Setup the settings via gpo and deployed the server to our domain. I get email notifications sent to the admin as expected but I do not get any notification in chrome that I entered my gapps password on an untrusted site. There really should be some kind of notification in chrome before a user submits their password to a malicious site.
Only support for one google password? My apps domain just isn't that important? That said, good idea. Looking forward to more.
good job
good job google!
it must be handy...
Looks good ......
Be safe!
nice
Look fwd to get it buildin with chrome browser. It would be great.!
This is insecure. It saves a truncated salted SHA1 (37 bits) and the password length.
This app should be built in to Chrome, and support many other websites other than google sites.
I will install this on every computer I get my hands on.
Password Alert changed my life, for the better. After installing it, my hair stopped turning grey, my teeth got whiter, and suddenly I was able to sing like Sinatra and shred like Hendrix. Who knew!?!
I like it...
Will see if it works as it says!
I can understand rolling out this kind of functionality as an extension for people that are security and privacy minded as a self-selecting group of testers to validate such a tool and therefore not built-in to Chrome. When you install it you will understand a few reasons why this might be. Like for one, you have to be signed into Chrome. Two, it will know your email address and three, it will have the ability to change ANY input to fields you have filled out. Until the ramifications of these things are better understood, and how Chrome using such an extension may be attacked, it is good that it is not baked into the browser. Yet.
5 stars for trying to improve the security, but -4 for making it an extension. Do you really think that the audience that is vulnerable for phishing attacks searches and installs extensions? Such a feature should be a part of the Chrome Browser itself.
This should be built into Chrome by default.
Working with it, now! Nice notifications, so far! :)
A great idea.
