Great Password Manager!!!!
Simple, intuitive and helpful in managing all passwords for both home and office/corporate use. Highly recommended!
Great extension, but if you can provide TOTP service for free that would be great ;)
switched from lastpass to bitwarden, so far i like it. sometimes doesnt safe the password of a new website to the vault, don't know why that is. last pass is to expensive for what it's worth, specially after they got hacked.
I switched to Bitwarden from LastPass and to me it's a clear improvement. The UI is better, the model makes more sense, custom fields are useful and quite flexible, and the paid family plan really feels worth it for what I'm getting. And there's a CLI for anyone into automation.
Great password manager. Switched from LastPass once they got too greedy with their pricing policy.
Excellent Password Manager. Simple, Efficient, Effective and Damn useful!!!
Easy to use, unlimited and free
My TOP goto choice for password management. I previously used LastPass, but passed when they got hit with a breach. BitWarden is so good that I wrote about them in my tech newsletter. The product is safe, open-source, and easy to use, including the plug-in. Keep up the great work. https://www.technologytalk.net
Excellent
Works great and is super secure. Moved from another password manager to this and feel so much better about it!
Amazing service from Bitwarden, it is the best password manager ever!
The best password manager I ever used.
awesome
Amazing extension. Love the Windows Hello integration. My laptop comes with a built in fingerprint reader and I use it all the time to quickly login. Highly recommend!
Best password manager ever
Please close the warning box that is filling the http website. This is really annoying
A definite improvement over LastPass!
it does its job very well as a password manager.
I created logins with this extension and BITWARDEN LOST THEM ALL!! Fxxx!! BIWARDEN IS A JUNK COMPANY
This is definitely the most useful extension I've installed! Thank you so much. The paid version is not very expensive, and I think it's worth it, especially since it can automatically fill in two-factor authentication codes <3. I only have one suggestion: it would be great if we could sort the passwords by save date to quickly find a specific site
A breeze to setup and use. Absolutely worth every penny if you want to remain safe and secure online.
This is the best password manager I have ever used!
I thought Topicus Kehub was bad... Then we switched to Bitwarden. That happened today. Ok it works. But there are already some things about the extension that really annoy me * There's no obvious shortcut to go directly to your personal vault in the web version * It always starts with 'all vaults'. I want it to show my personal vault initially * It only show the login(s) that is/are linked to the site you're currently viewing. Why doesn't it show all logins, with the 'relevant' login(s) pinned to the top?
The best password manager,period.
Excellent password manager that works without a problem even in the free version. I have it installed in chrome extension, on PC as desktop app, on iphone. Better than 1Password, which is paid. I recommend it!
I started using Bitwarden when it had 500,000 users and it has served me with really well for 4 years. I was feeling kinda guilty that I have never supported the developers yet I have been using Bitwarden every day since Feb 2019, even before the pandemic started. Today, I ended this guilt and paid the $10 for premium license. Developers: You guys have built a solid password manager, thanks for doing a great job.
Its really annoying how the extension doesn't work well with a VPN, I can't whitelist it anything. Does a security company just want me to not use a VPN while on public wifi?
THE BEST AND SECURE AND OPEN SOURCE
Everything seems to work as it should - hard to beat for a free app, highly recommend
The extension should allow activation without any read/write permission on webpage/website. Use Case: just using extension as a manual "independent vault without ANY automation/autofill option". I cannot use extension without giving read/write permission on page. I already turned off ALL "automation" options in extension. Have to "reload page to use extension". I'm not sure it's just chrome extension design or if they can just make it optional. Automation should NOT be manditory.
Awesome! Easy to use and port you password from other password managers and opensource!
simply perfect, and it is free
Got switched from LastPass with no problems, works great. Excellent App
I was using Lastpass's free option for a while, until I realized how much I needed to have my passwords cross platform and on my cell phone too. My sister had used Bitwarden for free, and I definitely read up on it before trying, and the thing works like a charm. Being able to sync passwords across my Opera GX browser on my Windows computer, chrome on my old chromebook, and the mobile app on my android phone was a cinche, and all for free! The only thing I would change about it would be to make it a bit easier to auto-fill your passwords when you need to sign in somewhere, but even without that it's only a few clicks to have everything running easy, fast, and most importantly, safe. :)
Being in the IT field I recommend Bitwarden to everyone. The UI is so clean, and security wise there were third party reviews that found it outdid Lastpass by a mile. You see Lastpass in the news for being breached a few times, I wouldn't suggest that manager to anyone. Bitwarden is so clutch considering it's free version has so many features and works so well and seamlessly. Too many people reuse super unsafe passwords and wonder why they get "hacked", in Bitwarden you can generate passwords on the spot as you are filling out your new user account on websites then you have a super safe random character password. When you sign back into it Bitwarden will auto fill it in there for you. I couldn't be happier with this.
moving from lastpass to bitwarden and I have to say bitwarden's extension is much cleaner, less bloated, and functions much better on lots of sites I visit.
Best password manager out there, cross platform and great also with mobile app! Love it, thank you for just being an easy to use, minimalist product! You guys rock!
Best PW-Manager incl. PW generator and entirely free. Love it. Synced it with my mobile and fingerprint access - works like a charm.
Shree. ? Bitwarden.
Just feel like this is an almost excellent pswd keeper. It is friendly to use and having used for a few years with a Premo membership, it has been safe and creates excellent pswds liked by whatever I use them for. Green all the way every time. It simply works - no hassels and if you need support, it's there.
Almost great: 1 - if you're on a VPN, it will sometimes refuse to work - which means you can't save any changes. 2 - you will be told that it won't work after you've made changes, which it will only later tell you it didn't save. This is very dangerous for a password manager. 3 - The UI cancels anything you did as soon as you click anywhere else. Poof - new password forgotten forever. If that sounds like a recipe for lost passwords - you're right.
A very good password manager for multi OS and general purpose
You'll be fine with free plan BUT please consider upgrade for a super cheap price ($10 per year) to support the team. I would like to say big thanks for saving me from all the hassles with password management. Suggestion, not sure if it's only me, but I would like to keep the Bitwarden dialog open while i navigate to other browser's tabs, especially while i am generating passwords or doing some configurations.
been using lastpass for several years, and had minor issues here and there, but was living with it but once we got news of the data breach, which was a deal breaker for me, was looking for alternatives and came across bitwarden, and my god, the transition was smooth as butter import export of all my data from LP to BW was breeze, the UI of this extension is less buggy, simple interface, puts less load on chrome, so far everything was perfect, only 1 thing missing was Auto-Login feature, hopefully, they get this feature soon Overall excellent experience and ease of use, will definetly recommend to all, especially who were using LP before
Great extension. Sadly autofill isn't working any more for me on mobile but that doesn't make THIS bad.
An absolute must have. I no longer have to juggle a million different passwords, autofill is great, syncs perfectly between devices, no ads or annoying upgrade notifications, and has never been breached.
This is very nice password manager. The auto fill feature works very well.
Great extension but Keys Alt shift Y do not open the dialog box to the side of the browser as in Firefox. Otherwise very good though.
TOP ?
Excellent password manager, the free version is fantastic and easy to use. The paid version as some extra features and good value, but more than that supports open source software. Would recommend to anyone.
Excellent, simple yet comprehensive interface.
Works very well. Excellent and seems secure.
Switched from LastPass. Really like it!
Helpful, unobtrusive, light footprint
Thanks for great extension. The only not working is the auto fill. It work intermittently. I am using Kiwi browser for Android. Sometime it work. Sometime it's not working. When I close from task manager and reopen the kiwi browser, auto fill work. But only for one time. Hope you can fix it.
Excellent. Easily the best password manager, and it's free and open source software too!
Después de años de Lastpass, encontré en Bitwarden una app mas optimizada, confiable, sin bloatware, sin ads, sin bugs, sin vulnerabilidades, etc. Le doy 5 estrellas por no poder más.
The best!!! Use it long time ago and im really satisfied
Great for a free open source password manager. Very reliable and easy to use.
Very pleased with it - seems easier to use than LastPass whose free service is now pretty useless.
Greatest password manager. Open-source, reliable, feature rich, and minimalistic. The rest speaks for itself!
Absolute best and minimalist extension. Deserves more than 5 stars!
Great replacement for Password Keeper
Migrate from Roboform and I love it...
Much more secure than LastPass, which I used to use
It fills most of my needs, would be great if it could recognize password input fields more often/consistently (but i fear this is outside the hands of the Bitwarden team)
I've been using this for years and now suddenly I am locked out it says "traffic seems unusual connect to a different network", I googled it and it says if you are using Tor or a VPN don't, but I AM NOT USING TOR OR A VPN so I guess I don't have access to my logins and I don't have another network and it is NEVER acceptable for you to be tracking my IP address so I no longer feel safe and I have to find another password manager and one more thing to do, I guess this is going down the same rabbit hole as lastpass. Maybe I can try buying a VPN service to see if I can get access to my passwords so I can move them to a different service and cancel my subscription.
When I try to login via Extension I get "unknown KDF" error after using "Argon2id" algorithm, also mobile app crashes without any error message, while web login is the only one that works. Argon2id algorithm parameters are: KDF memory (MB): 1024 KDF iterations: 3 KDF parallelism: 8
Until Chrome updated some kind of API or something, WebAuthn does not work anymore, please fix it so I can give 5 stars again, the update is already a week out - Automatic sync would be kinda nice for private vault btw
Agree with JR. 2 improvements that'd be great - ability to fill in form from fields, rather than clicking the extension; simpler controls on password complexity - as sites all have different requirements. It was recommended to me and I like it.
BitWarden is awesome and the Chrome extension fits right in. Only thing I wish is that the ability to choose a user name / pw combination on a log-in or form fill items is the ellipsis in the form field itself (similar to Lastp**). But all things considered, I think I can deal with moving the mouse to the upper right corner of the webpage. Great job guys -- I have brought this app to the attention of at least 50 people in the last 2 months, I believe all of them are using the app to some extent now.
I've been using this for a couple of years now. No issues and works solidly. I really like the sharing of passwords via the organizations feature.
Hate to say it but LastPass has a much better extension than Bitwarden.
works as expected. great!
Best password manager out there, free and easy to use but the paid for tier is also very good value. Would recommend to anyone.
I had Last Pass for years. Then they switched to only 1 device for the free acct so I started using Norton PW which was very basic and annoying. Been using Bitwarden for probably 2 months and I love it. Easily the best one I've used. I love how you can hop right into the extension when creating a new account, enter your email & then generate a PW which it then saves and copies for you. Then it loads it right into the "create password" prompts. Auto-fill and the app itself work great on all my devices. I love it. Last Pass & Norton PW just can't compare in my opinion.
This extension does not like to update my passwords when I change them in my accounts. I left LastPass because I was fed up with the multiple security breaches but I have to say that their extension worked almost flawlessly when updating passwords. Please update. It's getting quite annoying that I have to keep manually updating my passwords. Anyone who's not tech savvy would get screwed if they didn't copy the generated password first.
Beat password manager
Please add a HotKey for copy TOTP. Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + L is works when you entering to the site , but it doesn't work when you need just TOTP to confirm the transaction
I have been slowly moving my information from Lastpass to Bitwarden for the past two weeks (much needed house cleaning to remove old websites that I no longer need). It has been a great experience working more and more with Bitwarden. My trust has grown every day and I love its user interface. I deleted my Lastpass account a few minutes ago. I am 100% Bitwarden now.
I have been a LastPass user for 10 years. I happily deleted my LastPass vault yesterday. I am very happy with Bitwarden. The $10/year tier is a great value (everyone should choose this tier or higher to support Bitwarden) but the free tier option is very usable as well.
Overall good, especially for a free product. I would pay $10 easy for this which is a deal IMO. Tech wise I think this a great product but UI/UX wise I feel it could use an improvement. The UI is more utilitarian than I would like and some of the menu options in Android made for some confusion and jaring UI/UX (example: drop-down lists not having dropdown arrows). I do like the Username generator thou, that is a really neat feature that takes advantage of Gmail's "+" feature, good to figure out who's been sharing your info. One thing I wish is that they support a key file of sorts to protect users who make weak passwords; it's very hard to train family what is a good password that can't be dictionary attacked.
Can't get to work. OH so simple to work. NOT. Glad only lost 10.00 How fill user and password is not working for me. Getting to old for this.
Works as intended
Works just great!
This is the very best password manager, in every way !! If you are using LastPass, it is time to leave NOW !! I cancelled my LastPass subscription on 01/28/2023, FOREVER !! I paid for the Bitwarden premium subscription, which I highly recommend everyone do for only $10, skip a meal, do whatever you have to do, but pay the $10 premium subscription to support Bitwarden's fantastic work! It has been a very long time since I last gave a Five Star review, but Bitwarden is as close to being prefect as I have ever seen! Do yourself a favor and learn Bitwarden TODAY, you won't regret it !! I wish I had done so much sooner than I did !!
This is simply the best free password manager on EARTH
I just moved to Bitwarden from LastPass. What a relief. I love the TOTP option. It just feels tight One very handy enhancement would be to display entries sorted by change date and time.
Just needs the feature to automatically add new passwords or update them when submitting login/create user forms. Also the sync between the browser and mobile app needs to be quicker. Other than that it's pretty good for the price.
非常棒!
Not perfect, but far better than "good enough." I am VERY grateful this app exists. Thank you!
I've been looking for an alternative to lastpass that I can self-host for a few years now. this one seems to check all the boxes. Very good web integration - good android integration. I do wish there was windows desktop app integration, but those kinds of apps are fewer and fewer and I can use the windows bitwarden app to copy/paste. I also like how it doesn't add things to the input boxes (like lastpass) as those usually get in the way. I may even be able to convince my wife to switch to this from Roboform... we'll see!
Nothing NOT to like really. LastPass was my previous manager but they disappointed me too often. This is simpler and more secure and reliable. Keep up the great job!
Trustworthy
I'd love to give it 5, its mostly good. however: - Its frustrating that the default is to open on the "Tab" for cards/ID's. I use the "Vault" logins 50 maybe 100 times more than credit cards or ID. The alternative is to open the Web Vault but thats a trip into the end of the Settings, Tools then another password login. - Doesn't seem to pick up password changes.
2023 Update: Always improving an already superior product. Couldn't imagine not rewarding the developer(s) for an excellent product by not paying a miniscule fee for the premium version! Very pleased I found this and recommend it without hesitation to anyone who isn't already using Bitwarden. Original (Sep 2020): I've been a LastPass user and loyal fan for years until the annual subscription near tripled, without any improvement or change to the product itself! I've been looking for a suitable replacement since, and I have definitely found it. After trying it for about 2 weeks, I'm so very happy, I leapt into the Premium version. The only thing I'm missing is the 'Bitwarden' for Applications but I'll happily give that up for this excellent utility. Faultless, rapid import of all my records from LastPass, including Form Fills too! Cancelled my LastPass subscription very comfortably.
I cannot believe how bad other password managers that I tried are compared to Bitwarden. Bitwarden is just normal, works as I would expect. Others that I tried are unusable garbage.
Bitwarden is great. The fact that it's free is absolutely crazy. Use it!
It works! After a successful migration to Bitwarden and using it for 6+ mos, I decided to pay them for a premium subscription to support the devs. Let's see faster/new features!
I moved to BitWarden from LastPass after the last data breach there. So far, I'm enjoying the experience having installed the browser extension and the windows and android apps. The browser extension, especially, is a big step up from the LastPass equivalent
Bitwarden would be a great password manager (and LP alternative) but the lack of browser overlay makes usability very bad. I can make it work like this, but there is zero chace less tech savvy people can use it. Is there any other password manager out there without this feature??? Also, while generally every other important feature is there more or less, the UI looks like something from 20 years ago. Bitwarden is simply not nice to look at.
Since today... "This item has been disabled in Chrome" > Enable this item > Still disabled Why??? Anybody knows what's happened?
Proper job! All the features I need and implemented well. I fully endorse what was said by James C, "Really good password manager, autofill works really well and so do the custom forms. UI is nice and simple and not trying to be too clever like so many these days."
Amazing service. I use it across multiple devices.
nothing bad to say about it, been using it for about 18 months. so 5-stars from me.. and I'm hard to please!!
i copied this: Really good password manager, autofill works really well and so do the custom forms. UI is nice and simple and not trying to be too clever like so many these days.
Seems to be broken. Does not allow to login anymore since December. Others who have not logged out, could still reenter the PW and still sync.
Moved over from Lastpass because of the security leak. The process was seamless and quick. I was so pleased with how the change over went that I became a Premium Member immediately.
Love the extension (and the soft in general). Nevertheless, I cannot see the badge as before. (even when properly selected in the options. In the beginning (my beginning at least) the badge was visible unlocked and locked. Lately it was only visible unlocked (not prefered) and today not at all. Does it need a fix ?
It works great but the new UI update no longer shows the domain and adds a lot of padding that makes it less usable than the previous version Edit: Thanks! The padding issues have been resolved and the its back to being awesome again! Developer is very responsive.
I very slow & always crash from version 2022.12.1
No clue where the hype is coming from for this app. Any browser password manager is superior to this extension. It doesn't even recognize and offer to register passwords when you first enter your log-ins like the Chrome password manager does. If you want to manually add usernames and passwords from the browser extension, and you click on the url to copy paste it into the thing, the extension goes away and you have to reopen everything (which means you will have lost any other field you typed into). No clue why people give this company more respect than it deserves. Can't believe I paid for this. Unsubbing and deleting everything. Trash
Longtime LastPass User - Happier with Bitwarden Immediately With the recent exposures and sloppy handling of them by LastPass, I decided it was time to find a new password tool. I've used KeyPass for years, then LastPass for several more, and am well acquainted with what to expect and need from a password safe. Bitwarden has surpassed all of my expectations and adoption was really a five minute activity.
It isn't possible to obfuscate or delete your email address after logging out or locking your account within the Chrome extension. This is a privacy concern if using the app on a shared PC
Greate password manager. Using the extension all the time and it has a good app and its open-source :)
So far so good... the form fills option does not work well on certain websites
Perfect password manager. Open-source added bonus
One of the most reliable solutions to keep your passwords organised and secure. Thank you for keeping the product with a free of charge option and the amazing work you do.
Very secure
Amazing password manager. Open-source as well
I have been using BitWarden for over two years. I simply marvel at how insecure I used to be using the same password (with minor variations, maybe) for every web site. Furthermore I appreciate the fact that when I return to a site after discovering it many moons ago I don't have to fumble to remember a signon, especially when I forgot I had visited that site before. Perhaps the only challenge I face is when changing a password on a site. It has been a manual process to copy and paste the old password then generate a new password, save it in BitWarden, then copy and paste it (twice usually) into the site. Somehow I wish there were a way to get BitWarden to handle some of that process for me with a button. It would certainly encourage me to update my passwords more frequently. Maybe even configure an entry to prompt me when it has been x days since I updated the site and remind me (nag me?) to change my password. Thanks
I can't live without it. I love this service :)
Bitwarden is pretty good except the fill form doesn't work at all and sometimes the extension does not detect and save new login information
It fails sometimes sometimes to catch "new sites" and to ask for saving, so you have to fill in credentials directly in the extension. Other than that, works perfectly.
Please add the keyboard shortcut to copy OTP. It's needed for example for transaction confirmation in client banks
Extensions work better than LastPass I love it
Easy and intuitive with lots of options.
Move from LastPass was straightforward - all imports were correct. However, several things that do not work are forcing me to look elsewhere: 1) Auto-detect of new entries - 100% fail rate so far - tested on several different sites. 2) Auto-detect of updated entries - also 100% fail rate so far - same as #1 3) Ability to sort the vault, especially by last updated date - the meta data is there if you export but you can not sort it in any of the vault views I have tried thus far. 4) export to CSV - no userid/password at all is exported for any site, utterly useless. json export does work. Running all of the above on MacOS Ventura 13.1/M1 Chrome, FF all up to date. #1 and #2 are the show stoppers and are known issues for a long time apparently. I have 700+ passwords, often with multiple per site (think Gmail for work, personal, volunteer org, etc). There is now way I can move my kids and parents to this - password chaos will ensue and my family IT support time will go through the roof if password updates are not detected and an option to store them to 1 or more accounts on the site not offered. For me, this makes Bitwarden not viable for now. Bummer.
Really good password manager, autofill works really well and so do the custom forms. UI is nice and simple and not trying to be too clever like so many these days.
Best thing ever!
Does the job
Overall, it seems like a great extension so far. I'm moving from Lastpass and the one feature I miss is that with the Lastpass extension when I use a keyboard shortcut to open the extension (like ctrl+shift+y with Bitwarden), then in Lastpass I could use the up and down arrow keys to navigate through the available passwords and the right and left arrow keys to select the copy username/password buttons. I know I can use TAB in the Bitwarden extension to do the same thing, but it's not quite as fast or fluid. Other than that, I think the Bitwarden extension looks nicer and offers more functionality.
Open-Source Always Free - Symply the Best
This extension is great
After many years of using Lastpass I finally decided to switch due to their recent breaches and revelations of their shortcomings. The switch was pretty effortless, getting used to Bitwarden took maybe 15 minutes. Being able to use it on both computers and phones a nice cherry on top Lastpass dropped for free accounts some time ago.
This was my #1 extension in years until a few weeks ago. Now the it's constantly logging itself out and back in every few seconds so the toolbar icon keeps distractingly popping in and out, in and out, in and out. And when I finally need to use the toolbar button, it says that my login has expired. After logging in again, as soon as the toolbar button popup closes, this process starts all over again.
It used to be a great app, but since the latest release it is impossible to log in through the Chrome extension to a self hosted environment.
excellent.
Unable to log in, zero help from bitwarden team.
What this extension is sorely missing are some key features of the desktop app. Chief among those missing features: There needs to be a configuration option to not require re-entering the master password every single goddam time, even IF you've closed all browser windows prior. And if, as should be, you have a complex master pw, it's a royal pain to have to enter. The desktop version allows choices of when and how the "lock" status is invoked. After x hours, for example is my favorite. I truly have come to hate having to use this extension because of the NEEDLESS requirement to reenter the master pw. Three stars until this is improved.
A lot of things may be improved, but its the best anyway
Exceptional, free password manager. Easy to use, secure and a wonderful replacement for LastPass which has lost my confidence.
The login badge counter broke, and they changed the UI for the worse out of nowhere.
From LastPass to Bitwarden, bye bye LP... so far, the experience is really good. Price for premium is a steal, emergency access is really nice in case I die, my loved ones can then access what they need. If you don't trust LP anymore, like I do, this is what you want to do.... the migration is less then 5 minutes of work and it's 100%, even the favorites etc etc get migrated.. awesome!
Great addon for an awesome password manager. However, I have observed that a password entry added via the plugin shows on the server, but not in the vault via the plugin. Explain that one to me.
Best password manager. Unlike Lastpass that keeps getting hacked every other day. This is a credible password manager that I've been using for a few years now. It's convenient and easy to use, especially with this extension.
Longtime BW user, paid user, tried many others pw managers. Typically I love it, recommend it from the hills... but these last few days have been terrible. A bunch of updates and now a bunch of bugs. The badge counter is now longer displaying the number of logins on the plugin icon [yes the setting is enabled] and now since today I can't even save or edit any entries. When I try to edit something, it says system error, and when I try to auto-save a new entry, it seems like it saves, but then when I click on the BW icon to pull up the popup menu, that new item/website is not there. I love BW, but these kinds of bugs are unacceptable.
if bitwarden can remove duplicate entry natively instead of using 3rd party tools, i will change my rating back to 5 star.
After doing an extensive research I chose BitWarden as my password manager app, and I don't regret it. The app is beautiful and useful, has a generous free plan. Right now I'm using the organization feature on a paid plan, me and my partner are super happy, and super safe!
I love this extension, but I think the new UI update was unnecessary and a step back. The badge counter showing how many matching passwords are present for the current page is broken. The new look and feel is more modern but less functional.
Amazing product.
Can not login after update. Rubish.
works
worked ok until the UI update ruined usability of this extension
Always super useful and awesome, but since the UI update for the extension is so good, I had to ensure I give it 5 stars!
I love this extension normally but for the past two days on both Opera and Brave it keeps saying my password or username is incorrect. I have quadruple checked my url my username and password I had our server admin reboot the server to no avail. For some reason the extension works on chrome but I use brave primarily and opera as a backup I have chrome installed just to have a third browser to check things like this. I even changed my password on the server and uninstalled all the extensions and re-installed them and set them up from scratch and it is still not working. =(
It would be better to give an option and let users decide if they want 'modern' style or 'compact' style. Besides, some times the badge conter doesn't show. Overall a great plugin.
Love The New Look Please keep working on the New UI its long overdue and starting to look nice.
When you click on the plugin's icon, it displays a list of your credentials. Suddently they decided to make the list items bigger. I have a lot of credencials, before it was easy for me to browse the list, now with all this useless white space it its far less convenient. (This is subjective). As far as I know there is no setting for that.
Excellent password manager. Authentication for every available service very convenient and secure.
Use this amazing extension to save your AUTH informations in it and use them anywhere and anytime for free with just a click and it saves time for you, opposite from typing. Instead of memorizing several usernames and passwords, memorize just one which is for logging in to Bitwarden. You can also install its mobile application to save and use your AUTH informations in your smart-phone.
I used to love Bitwarden but they've changed their UI from small and compact to huge and bloated. This is a trend I'm seeing across a lot of software these days. Bitwarden is fine if you only want to store a few passwords but if you have a hundreds of passwords it's now about 1/3 as useful. Really bad if you use a touchscreen - the inherent inaccuracy of touchscreens mean you're scrolling and scrolling and scrolling and flopping off the app area, recovering, going back to the beginning and scrolling some more. I'm in the process of looking for a replacement - sad, I've used Bitwarden for years without issue.
Awful UI update. Very disappointed. Not everything needs to have a fancy Web 3.0 minimal UI with 500 pixel padding between each element. The new update only fits 8 entries on one screen at a time. That means I have to scroll through 45 screens if I wanted to see all of my accounts. I am a happily paying customer, give me a spreadsheet interface. Function over form. That's all I want. Please.
The latest update of the app changes the UI significantly, causing it to take up a lot more space, rendering all muscle memory pointless. It also removes some previously configurable settings like the ability to show/hide matching sites badge (the setting is there, but it does not work)
Long time LP user switched and couldn't be happier. Excellent app. Get it. Use it.
I had LastPass for several years. I even had subscribed to the Premium plan when they changed to only allow 1 device. It works well enough, I suppose. The final straw was LastPass being hacked for the second time in something like 3 years. That was enough for me. So far Bitwarden is as easy to use and seems in many ways to be superior. Thanks for all the programmers hard work. I appreciate it and early next year I'll switch to the Premium.
The best!!!
Bitwarden Password Manager is a great tool for me in keeping my passwords safe and where I can see them on my computer and phone anytime. I've tried a few other password managers and became frustrated and irritated by the difficulties getting around within the programs. I went without a PW manager for quite sometime before someone recommended Bitwarden to me. I find BW to be intuitive and very easy to use on all devices. Thank you Bitwarden.
So good.
Coming from Dashlane, they autofill really suck. It probably auto fill user/pass about 5% of the time while it was 95% with dashlane. The GUI need a lot of love as well. Beside that it's doing what it need, but not more than that.
I was a big LastPass fan but made the move to a self hosted bitwarden setup this week. Lastpass is just getting too many hack attempts (successful or otherwise). A few tricks to get everything sorted but now working perfectly. The solution is really good and migration really simple. Thanks guys .. great job.
By far, hands down the best passwd manager on PLANET EARTH, open source rocks, and these people at Bitwarden is the epitome of why open source works, clean code, superior pricing, ever-evolving, and in a constant state of improvement, TRANSPARENCY.. I am grateful to have stumbled upon them in their beginnings, and I have never looked back
I finally left lastpass as it seems there is always a notification of some kind of security issue on their end. I have been using bitwarden a week and can say it is great, it works with the lastpass authenticator too. I have the free package and was thinking about going to premium for $10. I hope on the android app that you can use biometric to open the app that is the only thing it needs.......
Super happy with my decision to finally switch from LastPass's paid subscription to Bitwarden's free version which has all the features I could wish for and on top of that is open source!
Free version has a lot of features others don't have. Also like how its open source and compatible with a large number of platforms and browsers. Organizing all your logins takes a bit more work than other apps.
like it, supports touch id
just perfect
Bitwarden is awesome. I've been using it about 2 years. It works perfectly
I've been using BitWarden for 2 years and love it. The entire system works incredibly well.
I have used this for a while and it is excellently done with a great user interface.
Using this as a backup to Last Pass. Works well, except for logins that have a third field. Went to the Bitwarden help page and tried to follow the instructions for adding a custom field that can be auto-filled. The process does not work on the Chromebook extension. The Copy Custom Field Name in the right click menu does nothing. The best I can do is manually add a custom field with the data I need, then copy/paste when logging in. This would be a deal breaker for me.
Very good product. Some things to improve: * Entry-level history (I want to have history of all the entry, not only the previous passwords) * Search on mobile, does not find on notes or other string field * Biometrics on the Chrome extension, requieres first to login on the Desktop app
I switched to Bitwarden when LastPass made the decision to charge for more than one device. Obviously I need to use my desktop and my smartphone, so that was ill-advised. I found Bitwarden, easily imported all of my data from LastPass, and I was good to go. And Bitwarden, though you can upgrade, is totally free. I do have one small quibble, which is that when using the Web Vault **retains my MasterPassword in the field** during any one session - I can probably change this setting somewhere in the program, but it did give me pause. That said, the web vault means I can access passwords etc anywhere, and the browser extension is also really useful. Please get yourself a password manager to strengthen your security and you'll have super-secure passwords, and be free from the frustration of trying to remember them - an impossible task.
Excellent product. I'm finally in control of my passwords.
Amazing value for a free product
Reliable, efficient, I love it
Brilliant product, well designed and executed.
Excellent, easy to use.
Love it!
Without a doubt the very best. Free version is super. Paid version is beyond super, and at $10 per year well worth the price of admission. We used it with Yubikey for super strong security.
Bitwarden is a tremendous product and has worked flawlessly for me for several years. Both the free version and the paid version are well worth the money for a well supported, clean password manager that forces good password hygiene. I also use the iOS app that works very well too - only negative I can mention is that when I get overly impatient and enter a new password on the PC, sometimes you need to force a sync/refresh with the iOS app if you need that password immediately and after a sync it works fine. Highly recommend everyone to be using a pw manager and to use Bitwarden. I've used LastPass before and BW has a better overall UI / UX.
**Updated Review** It looks like the issues were just related to Chrome 106; after upgrading to 107 (latest portableapps version at the time of writing), the issues all went away. Hands down the best password manager app there is. I've been paying for premium for years, and you all should too :) Even free, it's still fantastic!
Poor choice of color.
I heard a lot about this password manager and extension so I started using it from today. But the last it is not as good as described by many. The extension does not lock when I close my browser. Every time I have to lock it out or log out manually. So what's the point of security If I forget to lock it? I have tried all the commands from the list from system lock torestarting of browser nothing works.
LOVE Bitwarden, but with recent update, the extension window uses less vertical space and feels really small and cramped. Can this be fixed?
Awesome free password manager (no ads!!). Highly recommend. Bit rough around the edges but the fact it is free you can expect this. Here is my 2 cents: I find when updating passwords it generally doesn't pick up on this and I have to update manually. If I am creating or updating an entry, if I go to generate a password, if I copy it, paste it into the website, the extension tab closes and I lose the entry completely and have to restart. This is pretty annoying when the website has weird requirements for passwords (like only certain special characters) so I have to do a few attempts at randomly generating a password. Needs a smart merge tool - merge together duplicate entries. Needs ability to right click on an entry under "Tab" to update/edit. Why do I need my desktop app (Mac OS) open to use biometrics for the extension?
Great, apart from a new annoying issue. When opening the extension window it's now a lot smaller than it was, and has a vertical scroll bar. When searching for sites, the list has another scroll bar - so there are two scroll bars and you have to use both of them to see the last item in the list. Please can the window be put back to the size it was?
Best in class, hands down!
Best there is. Coupled with self-hosted Vaultwarden. Awesome.
Great extension. Thanks for fixing some minor problems!
Great, use it all the time. The phone app is useful too.
Perfect until recently, there's now a delay when you open the extension, which means missing letters if you type your credentials right away. Look forward to changing it back to 5 stars!
Works very well, I use it all the time!
Everyone should use it! It is not just for Website Passwords but a great place to save other important numbers associated with Drivers Licenses, Medical Insurance, Passport, Insurance, etc., and the corresponding expiry dates.
A great piece of S\W. Free and does exactly what is says on the tin. Will recommend to everyone I meet as this kind of util is essential in today's interweb connected society.
A safe and comfortable extension that syncs with the android app UI/UX design could be improved, but the program is very good as is, and the fact that it's free makes it a wonderful software to use!
I love Bitwarden so much! It's made keeping all my websites secure a breeze, and at a fraction of the extortionate costs LastPass required for less features. The addition of TOTP has been huge, as now I can sync my TOTP across all my devices with ease. And with Yubikey support, I'm guaranteed that even if someone guessed my master password (nope), they'd never be able to get anywhere without physical access to my Yubikey. My singular feature request would be allowing for my Yubikey (plus a PIN perhaps) to unlock Bitwarden once it's been unencrypted rather than typing my password in again.
No option to merge or delete duplicate entries? This app is missing such an easy and helpful feature!
Awesome app. I have struggled with passwords for so long trying to keep an excel sheet updated and secure. I finally bit the bullet to figure out how to get to a more secure means. Bit Warden has come to the rescue. Now have super super secure passwords and the best part is I do not have to remember them as the app does it all. I am so impressed. The autofill was an option that I had not set and now have and it now really rocks and has made things so much easier. I sleep better at night knowing that I no longer have nearly the same password for everything.
Makes life easier because I don't have to memorize all those passwords for all those sites. Just memorize one secure password for Bitwarden. No more yellow stickies on my monitor!
Free. Open source. Simple. Marks all my boxes. PW + Username generator is a groovy bonus.
Awesome entension! better than lastpass as its free
Switched over from lastpass. Haven't had any issues so far
Deeply appreciate and promote this product as someone who cares about their security and the integrity of their passwords and data. Great product and extension!
Fantastic secure functional local private password manager.
Simple and effective. Recommended!
Good for managing passwords, horrible design though! You want to generate your password? You open the interface, you get the password, you create your account on the website, now you want to save the password in the extension... you fill in everything, you change tab to copy the data from a received email to add, but no you lost all information you just entered, also you lost the password you just made so you have to reset your password again... SAVE PROGRESS! if they could fix this, it would be a 5 star, but this is a breaking bug for me that irritates me immensely
Too good to be true, still searching for that "oh" moment but I just can't find it
Easy to use, access across my devices, solid import feature, free with no ads. It's perfect.
Just a great password manager that's easy to use and reliable. I love that it's open source as well.
Went through around four different password managers (some I paid for) and this is by far the best. Easy to use, Sync with your phone, create passwords. I would be lost without this app/ extension. Best of all I'm using the free version and getting all the same perks as most of the paid password managers.
Works fine.
Amazing app - just works.
I used LastPass for many years, but every update just got buggier and less reliable. I finally got fed up and decided to give Bitwarden a try, and wow it actually works! Autofill is very reliable and I like that it can match multiple "websites" for the same account (so it can still autofill even if the domain/hostname changes). The UI/UX is pretty basic and could use some polish, but as long as the basic functionality works, I'm a happy user!
Used a lot of password managers over the years, desktop based and cloud. Bitwarden is best I have come across thus. surpassed my previous favourite in every regard and never looked back. works beautifully on mobile and desktop. one slight mention- I would like an 'always on top' option so the pop up window could stay open when I click on website as sometimes have/wish to manually enter details. thanks for a great product with seamless integration in to all my browsers.
Love bitwarden for allowing me to self host my own watertight password vault, available on all my devices. Especially with companies getting breached on a pretty much daily basis these days, you just can't do password the oldfashioned way anymore.
I'm still trying it, but I was already interested when I saw the demo
Good interface and works well. It would be helpful if the autogenerate function was able to be initiated when it is in entered when setting up the login on a website and also that it autosaved / updated the password in the vault
Love it! Works on all my platform very intuitive and great support.
Works great everywhere!
If only Bitwarden with stay on top and open when you are on a web page. Frustrating when I am trying to fill out information from Bitwarden onto a website, and the username password closes when the mouse goes to the webpage username/password boxes.
I really like the app a lot. I would like the ability to edit passwords and create passwords. Thanks.
This service has proven itself to be reliable and dependable and the development team should receive the highest praise.
Keeps asking if I want to save a password even after clicking "Never". I wonder why is that so hard? Also, why do I have to enter the master password every time I restart the browser? This literally kills the possibility of having a really complex and secure password, now I have to choose something I can actually remember. I'm thinking about going back to Chrome as my password manager.
Tried, lastpass, keeper, 1pass and bitwarden. This app has one of the best at autofills which is one of the most important features to me. I find find the Android app to work better than the competitors as well. My only suggestion would be to add identities to right click fill.
It's as easy and good as Lastpass and remains free and unencumbered to the day I write this review.
IT works as it should, but chrome extension is weak point. It's very annoying to use, should have option to disable animations, missing option to create new folder in extension. Just moved from lastpass (premium user) and gui feels in lastpass better.
Great
This is what I'm looking for. Thank you.
I was a lastpass user for 3 years before finally trying out Bitwarden based on a CNet review. Migrating was relatively painless (import a .csv), but what I've really been amazed by is the number of features that were not available in lastpass that I find really helpful in Bitwarden - things like locking your account with a pin after a certain period of time, so you can easily unlock it without having to type your entire password, but still know it's relatively secure should you walk away from your computer with the browser still open. It also has SSH and X509 key fields, which are helpful for anyone who works with them. Basically, I sum it up to, if you're a general PC user lastpass is enough, and some of the bitwarden features might be unuseful or even confusing if you have no idea what they are, but both are easy to use and Bitwarden will introduce an a&&load of features you might really appreciate. Did I mention it's open source? Reference - Cnet article: https://www.cnet.com/tech/services-and-software/bitwarden-vs-lastpass-how-do-cnets-top-password-manager-picks-stack-up/
50% of itwarden updates introduce bugs due to poor testing of updates prior to release. Updates will regularly kill biometrics use. Given these regular bugs, it was stupid of me to become a premium user.
This is the BEST free password manager you could ever use. Digital life will never be the same without it. Forget writing stuff down where it's vulnerable, just use Bitwarden!
Great tool. Life is never the same after installing it. Smooth and reliable as fouck.
Brilliant.
Love BitWarden and the extension works flawlessly. I'm a big promotor for this application. And as someone pointed out, if you love, buy it.
The only thing i wish this had was to have an option to have an avatar
I've been using Bitwarden for a while. There's one known issue with Bitwarden. When the server is down, which happens occasionally, the client doesn't function if it connects to the service. What is the point of having a local cache when the client behaves like this? People have complained for years, but this hasn't been fixed yet.
Open source & feature rich, Bitwarden is simply the best password manager out there!
I got this extension after listening to my favorite Linux Podcast "Destination Linux". They were being continuously sponsored by Bit Warden. They were really loving how fast and secure this app is and I agree. It helps me feel like I am finally taking back control of my password management without going broke.
Very helpfull app to manage my passwords. Works on browser && mobile seamless since years.
App works seamlessly with both cloud and self hosted versions, good stuff
Excellent app which does what it's suppose to do. Great customer service as well.
It's so much better than LastPass, the only thing that it's missing is a better autocomplete system. Other than that, it's perfect for me, for what I do.
This app is great. It's one of the few password managers that works on a Chromebook and literally everything else. I use it on multiple platforms and it syncs instantly on all of them, plus it has a very small footprint. The price for premium is beyond reasonable.
The best one!
Good
I'm a new user and think it's really good. My only suggestion would be to have a Vault link (which takes you to the vault screen in a TAB without needing to sign in again) directly on the front page of the extension, for those of us who prefer doing our changes/edits in the web vault UI. Otherwise, keep up the great work!
I'll be honest, Bitwarden is the first password manager I've used (a friend recommended) I was a bit skeptical at first. But I'm really glad I gave it a try, it's changed how easily I can access things. Like those random rewards apps, I'd always forget the password and just not bother. Now I can use things easily without having to re-use passwords or compromise my security by using weak rememberable passwords. I know there are other Password managers out there, but I can't really imagine how they could improve what Bitwarden already does.
Not recommended.. Trying to import Keeper CSV file but keep getting 10000 limit error.. Tried editing file and then it says incorrect format.. worst service so far..
after four months of buying premium, premium has expired and all my OTP auth tokens are inactive! 1/10 do not recommend
Bitwarden is the absolute beast of password managers. Coming from other PMs like LastPass?, you can't go wrong with this open-source software. I'm telling you, if you're not using PMs, you're literally opening yourself up to the world of hackery?. Safeguard your online accounts now. Choose a password manager -- choose Bitwarden.
Exactly what I needed. Thank you Bitwarden!
Stopped working at all.
Great password manager. It's also one of the last ones that has a useful free version. I ended up getting the premium anyways because it's really cheap and I wanted to support the developers. Highly Recommend!
Would recommend 10/10
I've been using Bitwarden for quite some time now. It's very good for a free/paid password/manager. I'm actually on the paid plan. https://cybernews.com/best-password-managers/nordpass-vs-bitwarden/ One improvement I may suggest is that Bitwarden can improve on Allowing for inline attachments within entries. For example, a screenshot jpg. Currently, attachments can only be called up via a URL address. A bit more of an intuitive interface would be nice as well, similar to like Nordpass.
Stoped working suddenly
Recently it has been moving images from google image search result halfway to the right side of the page. URL that I found issues with (vlc screenshot image): https://www.google.com/search?q=vlc+macos&sxsrf=ALiCzsaAS2TlzEkUNYhP8HmD-MeTc9wZLg:1660320583926&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjEv_iU2MH5AhXkm1YBHWohDswQ_AUoAnoECAEQBA&biw=697&bih=669&dpr=1.38#imgrc=ti8Sn3kf3sMCbM
