log in AND pay monthly subscription? go eat a bag of dicks
They want money for this? LOL
Waste of time
F*** Y**
Paid extention. Look for alternatives
Why do i need to login through my Google account? To pay you for basically free option? I'll go and find free alternatives instead
Trial and paywall for something that Dark Reader does quite well.
Asks login to Google and paywall.
Was great until you had to start paying for it.
Waste of time
Ridiculous that a dark theme costs a subscription
Waste of time
Requires Authorisation to your entire account then requires you to pay per month. Ridiculous for a simple chrome extension
subscription service for a dark mode?
Works, but requires subscription. Ridiculous to require recurring payment for a hacky fix like this.
This requires "Authorisation" sign in with your google, and then it's a trial and you need a subscription, i.e. a hidden paywall. So yeah no thanks. Don't bother.
Why does it need 'authorization' The authorisation fails with a 500 error anyway. Shady.
Why do you require authorization of my account? -.-
Why do you require authorization to my account to update the UI? That's fishy, not going to do that. Thanks!
Why did you need me to authorize your connection to my actual JIRA account? And from Google? Isn't this supposed to be a cosmetic plugin? This can only be bad for me and my employer. No thanks. BLOCKED.
Garbage.
How can this extension be paid if it's not even good? The page became unreadable.
No, I'm not signing into your site to add dark mode. I recommend Dark Reader extensions as a much better alternative.
Why do you need signup? I get status 500 error after signing up. Poorly coded.
500 internal server error, does not work
Was far from perfect as it was. Still needed some tinkering as some hover effects and icons where not working properly. But now it's a subscription service? Uninstalled
Was decent before it became paid. Not worth it when you can use other dark mode extensions (although others seem to make Jira run even slower). Also, this extension causes slightly blurry text on some resolutions (looks fine on my 1080p monitors, but doesn't look quite right on my 3840x1440 ultrawide--still readable though)
Too heavy on permissions and requires a subscripton... hahahahaha 1 star
Paid theme? Realy?
$2.00/month really?
wants me to log in using google. uninstalled.
Uninstalled - Requires payment
Uninstalled - Requires payment
Uninstalled - Requires payment
should be freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee for ever :(
Was a useful extension, but now (due to Ukraine situation) requires a monthly subscription...
This extension was great, however they have now decided to make it a paid subscription. There is no way I'm going to pay a subscription for an extension that literally just changes a page to dark theme. I'll go find something else. If your goal was to make people not want your extension, you're definitely accomplishing that. :)
Bruh its paid now. No thanks
Apparently is paid now
I certainly won't be paying a subscription fee for a simple dark mode extension... I'll just use Dark Reader and have it for completely free.
No longer free
This was an awesome extension at one point. Now it charging a fee. So removed it. I'm not going to pay for this. Come on.
No longer free
Worked great until they started to charge money for it.
Uninstalled due to the monthly fee they charge now.
What kind of simple dark mode extension wants to charge a monthly fee for use? The whole point of this existing is that Jira itself unreasonably wants to charge a monthly fee for dark mode. The extension itself is alright, but since the change I've decided to switch to the Jira Black extension, which looks better in my opinion.
Why does a night mode require a monthly subscription fee? What a joke
Even before I consider how much I dislike the permissions, I can't get this to work. So...
Hahahahaha $2/month subscription? Uninstalled.
why need permission of all websites? uninstalled
Suddenly requires access to data from all sites and requiring a subscription now
Wants permissions to read and change all data on all websites. Clearly trying to phish data now + charging for people to get their information stolen. uninstalled!
Suddenly wants permissions to read and change all data on all websites. Clearly trying to phish data now + charging for people to get their information stolen. Bye lol
It worked well, but it's been updated to require an in-app purchase to use. I can't find any information on their website about how the subscription works and I'm also a bit concerned about the geographic location of the company, so I'm removing the extension.
It snot working for Chrome 102.x version
The extension works great, but it should have an option to match my system theme. There are web standards now for "prefers-color-scheme: dark", so there isn't much excuse for not auto-switching with the rest of my system.
Edited the default values of the Dark mode under advanced settings to: Brightness 160 % and Contrast 80 %. For a better text reading experience, at least for me on my 2560x1440p work display at 100% windows scaling
Brilliant !
Useless. Won't work on a custom domain.
Needs an option to define the domains. Now it is useless since the project is using a private internal domain name for jira.
I recommend 80% Contrast and 120% Lightness ... it seems to look better than standard night mode.
This is a life saver for my eyes, thank you! My only complaint is that currently it inverts the color of profile pictures, it would be nice if it kept them normal.
Does not work with corporate jira where url is not related to atlassian. Waste of my time to install the extension. Uninstalling immediately after finishing this review.
Pros: 1. Works well for 95% of the time 2. I am using this 24/7 presently Cons: 1. While opening a card, the reporter and assignee picture seems to be like negative in film 2. The color looks dull on dark mode, make the outlines and text more clear and bright. 3. Presently the text in dark mode looks smudged and not clear
Doesn't work on Jira Server, plus access to the developer website is blocked by Cloudflare
finally
It looks very nice. Unfortunately this plugin does not work for me as my company has a custom URL for our JIRA. I saw that the plugin only requests access to these sites: - *://*.atlassian.net/* - *://*.bitbucket.org/* - *://id.atlassian.com/* - *://trello.com/* I need an option to add my own URL wildcards. Since that does not seem to be possible, this plugin is not working for me.
Fantistic
Does not look really good actually on jira
Doesn't work - switched on dark mode, page is still white
This worked brilliantly for the first few weeks I used it - then it asked for more permissions such as browsing history... sorry, that's a no from me. I only use Jira for work, so not comfortable with any of my work stuff potentially going back somewhere.
This addons worked perfectly fine and it was super great... unfortunately, it had to one day asked for browsing history permission. For an addon like this, it is completely useless and proof of that, it didn't need it beforehand. So why now ? This is extremely fishy and just a big red flag that something is wrong.
Read browsing history? For what? Please remove this.
Why do you need permission to read my browsing history? Could you offer an explanation that makes sense? If not could you remove this permission? This is extremely disappointing.
Why suddenly do you now need the option to view Browsing History? Everything was fine until then. Removing today.
ot working on my company JIRA..!! This really bad thing.. Waste of time :-(
Thank you for saving my eyeballs. Really nice extension! Thank you for making this.
Doesn't work with enterprise Jira installations that have different URLs than the two supported ones.
Unfortunately, it does not work for Enterprise Jira by company URL
It's so close to perfect but not quite there. As others have said certain icons like the notification bell all but disappear, and certain images are turned negative (also noticed in the notifications area). It's 100% good enough that I'll continue to use it, but these small adjustments would go a long way to making this feel native.
it just does not work for company sites using Jira - looks like it detects Jira presence by url, not by the page content
Waste of time when you realize it has to be under either the attlasian or trello domain. Most if not all employers use their own domain so this is useless to the people who would want it the most.
Indeed a lifesaver, had to adjust couple of styles to my likings (using Stylus), and the theme is a bit darker than I like, but all in all it's a good extension Stylus edits: https://justpaste.it/8dre3
Worked like a charm! Thank you! Atlasssian should buy this color scheme from you when they finally implement dark mode. Really great job!
This is perfect! With the addition of "Night shift" and "Advanced Settings" for the dark mode, I was able to tweak it to get it to look just right.
For security reason it only has access to *://*.atlassian.net/* and *://trello.com/*, so it doesn't work on company installed Jira Servers. So, in my case, can't use it.
Didn't work for me. I would have LOVED a way to tone down the white eye-burning Jira UI.
This plugin has potential and it does work for Jira Cloud in MS Edge (Chromium). However, it has some issues. It doesn't have replacements for certain icons/graphics so they kind of disappear. The default dark theme isn't great. It can be adjusted using brightness/contrast sliders. I had to do this because some of the colors were annoying. I'm still going to look for an alternative.
Is this tied to an specific version of jira? My work has v8.5.4 and it wont change anything
This is an absolute lifesaver for me. I think the dev needs to make clear the limitation that it only works on the cloud version of Jira because that is the reason for the bad reviews. Actually the theme is great for me, everything seems to work really well. Thanks!
As mentioned in other reviews, the lack of mapping to non-trello or atlassian hosted instances makes this nearly unusable for most people that would love to take advantage of this extension. This is a major oversight to not accomodate, or call out in the description.
Works for me fine just fine. There are now "brightness" and "contrast" advanced settings.
not workin... reinstall and install 10 times! NOthing1
Firm I work for uses Jira and the white hurts my eyes... so finally found this, installed it, and bingo - it does NOT work... :( It looks like it only works for 2 main sites, and not the https site for jira that my firm uses. https://jira.MyFirmName.co.uk
way too dark.. you have to be in a very dark environment to feel comfortable with it. lack of options to fix the above.. note to developer: learn for other dark modes. making everything black is not enough. thank you for your contribution though!
I was going to make this myself since Jira was burning my eyes, but luckily somebody already did! Next step, if you ever feel like it - is allowing us to customize the colors used :)
