Seems to be working in Chrome, but sadly not in Vivaldi :/
It works for chrome browser but not when I use Vivaldi browser.
Works for me, applies a color to the icon only. Installed, then restarted Chrome on Mac. Clicked on the extension from my browser bar, Saved my color selection. Opened a new tab, navigated to a website - press SHIFT, COMMAND, SPACE to apply a color. Press the combination again to cycle through the colors.
Plugin is called "Tab Colorizer" and directly from the FAQ, it states "Does not color tabs by design, just the icon." Get off my browser.
Does absolutely nothing.
cool. It works. It does what it does, and I like what that is. EDIT: Sadly the colors don't save after browser restart, so dead extension for me. sad.
Literally doesn't work.
Never worked
Simply does not work. What I am still looking for is a ext. comparable to the Colorful Tabs ext. for Firefox legacy (ESR 57). https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51713446009_7681b8f990.jpg
Doesn't work. Waste of time.
Nice to color tab. Wish I could save that past refresh. Nice, but Activity Tab Organizer gives me more functionality, so I'm uninstalling. For those having difficulties, while you have the tab open, press ctrl shift at same time and then the space bar.
It worked for some time until recently it stopped working.
Used to work - no longer works. Ever since Chrome introduced group colour tabs this extension now does not work. It flashes up for one second with the colour preset then just goes to the error pic of the little globe. tabcolorizer.io - Please update this extension to work correctly. Unfortunately I will have to un install it as in its current state it is useless.
no fwokr
Extension works as described, sorta. It replaces favicon. I found "Group Tab" (right click tab, then add tab to group) to be more useful since it preserves favicon AND changed tab color. That is my feedback.
Couldn't get it to work. I tried following all of the FAQs. I just need a simple extension that lets me assign colors to tabs so I know what instance of a product I am in, production, test, etc. Chrome Version 89.0.4389.82 (Official Build) (64-bit)
DEAD. Does not function. Error: _generated_background_page.html:0 (anonymous function)
I didn't like how it covered up the icon so I deleted it but now all my tabs are still covered up with a coloured box and isn't going away and doesn't even say in the description or the instruction how to remove it. Now all my tabs have a purple square and I don't know which is which.
Installed. Didn't work on any tabs. Closed Chrome, relaunched. still doesn't work. 10 minutes wasted trying to troubleshoot. Removed.
Works - read instructions.
Not Working!!!
I am used to using "ColorfulTabs" in Sea Monkey (the true descendant of Netscape). The color selection is vastly greater, the colors themselves are much brighter (some almost glowing) compared to the flat, relatively lifeless pastels available here, the actual tab is colored, and most importantly, THEY STICK. At best, right after setting up this really doesn't even color the icons, it replaces them with a little square block of color (or maybe just covers them up, the result is the same). And at the first refresh of the page even that goes away. Do not bother installing it, IF it ever worked at some time in the past, it has not kept up with browser changes. A totally useless, waste of time. Windows 10 Pro, doubt it matters what you're running though.
Misleading. Only changes tab icon to a color, and not the whole tab
Does not work properly. First, getting this extension setup is not easy. Being required to use a keyboard shortcut to set the tab color sucks. I want to be able to click on this extension's icon and then choose the color I want to set. Second, this extension does not remember the colors I set. If my computer goes to sleep or I restart Chrome, all of the custom colors I set are gone. This extension needs major improvements.
Not work, on actual chrome, on windows 10 Pro
This is exactly what I was searching for. When you need to distinguish between multiple tabs from the same website or favicon without switching, this is very helpful.
MacOS Catalina. Does not work. I tried changing the shortcuts, removing my chrome themes, restarting chrome, nothing works.
trahs lost time
it worked fine for me but its so stupid. why would it only change the icon and not the actual tab marker, so you don't even know what you're clicking on unless you've memorized the order of your tabs. at least its not false advertising because its in the web store ad, but why does this need to exist?
Perfectly working. Straight to the point. Thanky you very much.
MacOS Catalina - working as expected. Thank you!
Does not really work. I have the colors changed for my D365 pages, but when the pages refresh (like a new email comes in) the page does not keep the color. APP is a waste of time. Dont download.
actually it does NOT color the tab, it just changes the Favicon with colored square. And is even worst, because i dont know which tab is which website, at least with the Favicon i reconized them, now not! maybe i was asking too much and is too difficult to develop, i dont know!
Works for me on Chrome for Windows. Much thanks. (after extension installation, reload tab to use).
I don't know how long I played around with this until I figured out that it was a BAIT'N'SWITCH. This extension DOES NOT color your tabs. It messes around with the favicon. In the absence of colored tabs, the only way to figure out what a tab is at a glance is to recognize it's favicon. Well, this extension erases the favicon and replaces it with a solid color. Once again, this extension DOES NOT COLOR THE TAB. The creator should change the name. It is very deceptive and I do not appreciate wasting all that time to learn that it is false advertising. SHAME ON YOU!!!
I installed this extension, refreshed a tab and assigned a color to it. Then I refreshed the tab again and the color went away. This is useless if the color doesn't stay on the tab.
Its not working after multiple attempts and permission. macOS Mojave.
doesnt work after entering shortcut, WIN 7 x64
Pretty good, but one hiccup I ran into: the tab must be at least ~40px wide to see the color preview. So if the window has many tabs open (e.g., 40), the tab widths are drastically reduced, which means I can not see the nice little color swatch in the tab handle until I navigate to another tab.
A good idea but the changes need to be permanent. I change pages within a website a lot and it keeps resetting. Until this changes, it's unusable.
Very helpful for developer with tons of reference tab
It setup great! However, refreshing a page made the tab lose the color that was applied. This makes the extension a waste of time.
It worked when I pressed the hotkey and would have been good but unfortunately the way its coded it forgets its colour when you reload the tab. As a web developer, I edit pages and regularly have multiple pages open that I copy bits in from. I also regularly get confused and edit the wrong page. To save from mistakes like this I thought that setting the tab colour would help me focus on the correct tab. Editing pages involves a lot of saving + reloading so with this plugin forgetting its settings each reload it's not a useful match for me.
Broken! Too bad, it seems like just what I was looking for.
Not working in Windows
it was so bad i pressed ctrl+shift+space BUT NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if anybody knows how to fix this please reply. but i think it only works for macs
nice and simple
doesn't work on my chrome's mbp
It is missing something quite important, when working within a colored tab and refreshing or navigating elsewhere within the tab it will lose its color. Makes it kind of redundant, although is still useful in a more limited way. I can have my reference tabs colored, makes things a little easier.
Not working whatsoever!!! Stop wasting our times. Stop being mediocre!
Simple, looks good, easy to understand, and works fine for me. Thanks for simplifying my myriad-tab lifestyle!
Doesn't do a darn thing! I pressed Ctrl+Shift+Space and NOTHING happens tabs are all still WHITE BACKGROUND! ALL I WANT IS A DIFFERENT BACKGROUND for the little tab NOT THE PAGE. Firefox does this! The WHITE for everything is just too hard to see which tab I'm on, at the very least I'd like the active tab a different collor!!!!
I would give this extension a Five Star if the developer would fix one problem and add one piece of functionality: When I close down my browser, then reopen it, Chrome requires me to do the same "colorizing" routine each time, on each one of my tabs. That's a lot of extra work. Also, it would be nice if the developers provided a way to colorize the entire tab, not just a small square on the tab. Otherwise, this extension ROCKS!!!
I add new colors and never it work.
This is the best thing since sliced bread! Since it reads all the sites we are visiting, does it have a privacy disclaimer? Much thanks!
the idea is nice like it allot, would be nice if a setting windows was designed , id like to refresh my tabs with out loosing the color coding for the tab- maybe implement that into a settings option. but over all helps with work managment.
Did exactly what it said it would. A quality extension.
Did not work. I set the keys, everything it told me. Still didn't work. Hate it
Works as described. Would like to see the tabs color retained after a browser restart or for a particular URL.
doesn´t work and it is very bad explained
Works as described.
Does not work. Mac El Capitan
