Feature Request: Remove the max height limit from the sticky note when resizing it. Or, increase it by at least 5x. Why is it even limited to such a short height? Sometimes when I'm reading a page I like to pull up the sticky note on the side of the body's text & take notes or summarize sections of text. Feature Request: Change text color to inverse of highlighted color. Many times I highlight and cannot see the text. An example of a good implementation of this would be the Chrome extension: "Super Simple Highlighter". Feature Request: As the height of a sticky note is increased there is a proportional amount of space at the bottom of the sticky note that becomes unusable. As in, about 25% of the sticky note becomes unusable wasted space when the sticky note height is increased to max. Why?? I'd like to see this space become usable. If you're still unsure what I mean to test it out: open a sticky note, increase it's height to max, and fill the note with text from top to bottom. (Actually, fill past the bottom).

This doesn't work on man large sites. Ie indeed, even on this chrome review page. no popup from this extension. Tried on wiki it works fine.

There is no way of exporting your notes should you want to backup them up or even import them into another install in another Chromium based browser. Look elsewhere unless you want your notes held captive Just lost all my notes for an entire website. What a failure. Extension also causes issue with Canada Post site when you attempt to chat with their virtual assistant. The chat becomes useless with the extension enable. The text input field becomes unusable and links posted by the assistant are no clickable. You can not add particular sites to an ignore list. The option disable extension on the current site does not stick/work

Very nice idea, but a few limitations: 1) There is no way to download highlights, only notes are downloaded. 2) It cannot be backed up, so if you change browser/laptop, everything is gone unless you have downloaded it somewhere. 3) No way to export to google doc.

The extension works great on webpages! However, this extension does not allow your to highlight / add sticky note to PDFs saved in your local drive, even with the "Allow access to file URLs" enabled in the Chrome extension settings for Beanote.

That is awesome, exactly what i was looking for. But something that i wasnt think about before using it, is that it should identify text color before adding the new background color. Adding notes to white text is a problem.

Anyone knows how to save the notes in google sheets?

This is genius!! And the feature that lets you search all pages with annotations basically can replace any bookmark saver! just need to be able to backup to cloud drive or sync, please add this and it will be perfect!

Best there is for personal notes. Only lacking a quick way to delete all annotations on a given page. Maybe a switch for "do not confirm deletions".

useful tool. but i need a way to sync notes on my other laptop.

It seems like a great concept but it doesn't work in PDF or document previews, on specific sites (e.x. the chrome web store), nor on sites made by other extensions. As a university student who has to go through so many online resources and papers, it's quite disappointing that it does not work very well for the sites I go on.

The extension seemed exactly what I needed, after finishing taking notes on a page, I clicked on download as html and the extension does nothing, then I tried as docx and doesn't download either. Without downloading I can't share my notes with my team, which makes the extension useless for what I need it.

Nice little tool. I've liked it so far with light use, mostly on ebay. No ability to bulk delete notes is a problem though. Seems like you have to go to each page where you have notes and delete them one at a time? Really arduous. Unless I missed something.

This is a really good tool!!! But one of my concerns is it doesn't support backup and restore. This is very important to me because more notes you add with this extenstion, more important to keep the data safe. I don't want to lose all the notes suppose if i need to re-install my operating system. With some investigation, I've found all the data is actually saved in C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Edge\User Data\Default\IndexedDB\chrome-extension_nikccehomlnjkmgmhnieecolhgdafajb_0.indexeddb.leveldb So I could manually backup and restore these files. I'm using Edge. The path would look like a bit different if you use Chrome. Hope it can help others who has same concern.

I love it but it is very inconvenient if I use another advice as my note will be disappered as a whole. So I'd love if you can create some sort of website, account or something so that we can save our notes in it. Looking forward for it!

Update 2: Downgrading my review again to 1 star and removing the extension. I relied every day on this extension for months, loved it. Then today, I opened it up, and my notes were just totally gone. You know what the use is of a notes extension that only completely deletes all your notes every once in a great while? Absolutely nothing it all, it's useless. Update: Unfortunately I had to drastically downgrade my 5 star review. After a few days of using this, I notice that notes very often "Migrate" from the pages I left them on, onto other pages I've visited. I have to hunt for where they went, then copy, delete, and re-add them to the original pages. This is very poor functionality for a web "sticky note" plugin. I am looking for something else to allow me to do this without making me waste time hunting for where my notes wandered off to. Former review: Ridiculously perfect. This extension does exactly what I need it to do, and nothing else.

This is what I'm looking for but only one thing I am really dismayed about is that I want to keep the highlights words for all sites, but there isn't that feature.

As of the last update, the functionality of saving my post-it notes has been unreliable. I can fiddle with the order in which I perform the necessary steps, and sometimes it'll work, but sometimes the notes simply will not save; and for the life of me, I can't re-access that specific note that I made. Before this update though, it was working great and I loved this app.

it is very useful, i really like it, except it goes wrong when I highlight an Arabic text and make a note. then the note becomes blank in the main panel, besides it is stuck there; no way to delete it. please correct this asap. Thank you

It's useless unless it syncs to Google Drive (something that's possible, but the developer has not implemented for some reason). Also, when you download your notes as a web page, you do NOT see the source (web link) of each note. Again, useless. You only see the note, but you have no idea what web link it comes from. Looks nice, but is not useful. I'll go with Hypothes.is.

Hmm. I was hoping this extension would allow me to take notes on html books I have purchased and downloaded, but it does not. Is that something that could be done? Does the app need a URL?

Excellent extension for highlighting articles across the web and adding post-its with little notes for yourself on web pages / tabs. Only thing missing is online sync / backup of notes, but I'm told that's coming soon!

Annotation shouldn't be on all the time. 99% of the time, I want to select text in order to copy it. Seems like this could be toggled on/off by clicking on the Beanote icon.

Popup icon would get in the way of my reading and copying quite often. I didn't take the time to read all the settings that might have prevented that. I started using Weava instead. Notes were sticky-note quality,..bulky, in-the-way, unrefined.

You have to enter on that page to view your specific note.

Great app , really very helpful as we get data more from the web than the books!!!

Pros: does what it says but read the cons. Cons: 1. Inability to remove highlights from the list of pages where highlights exist, when you click the extension icon. You can do this to notes tab though. 2. Removing highlights done on a hyperlink is pain in a$$ because you have to double click in order to press the dustbin button to remove highlight and doing that on a hyperlink will make the page navigate. 3. No sync option for different browser or device.

Make it sync and I give it 5 stars love its simplicity, don't mess that up please Thank you very much

The extension is only for top urls e.g. google.com but not google.com/to/page.html; but essential features are working pretty well. some extra tweaks to your code is enough to make the extension much better.

Loved it until the new update this year- the only way my dashboard can be organised by is by webpages I've taken notes from instead of being able to see all the texts I've highlighted at once (like in the previous update). This makes it very difficult to navigate

[On 07/22/2020] If you are using Windows, your highlight data is stored at: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\IndexedDB\chrome-extension_nikccehomlnjkmgmhnieecolhgdafajb_0.indexeddb.leveldb or C:\Users\[YOUR-USERNAME]\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\IndexedDB\chrome-extension_nikccehomlnjkmgmhnieecolhgdafajb_0.indexeddb.leveldb And you just need to make a copy of that folder to backup your highlight data.

So far, so great. But there are some points that can make it even greater- - Account system. I am not actually sure about this. But I think now it's using cache. We need to use a simple database to manage and sync. Then our data will be more protected. - Export option - Folder & Tag option - A dashboard in web and android app

it works accurately, i can highlight , rub out, add notes. it's usefull while reading and learning .

I HAD EMAILED THE SUPPORT TEAM TOO AND KEPT THE EXTENSION, HOPING THAT THEY WOULD EVENTUALLY UPDATE IT. WELL NOT IN VAIN, AS IT TURNS OUT! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

Hello Admin! I reinstall beanote numerous times but it does not show its dialouge box after selection. I don't have any idea how to fix this. Please fix it.

Worked flawlessly until a month ago. Now- NADA. Not working in Opera or Chrome. Is it me?

It 'used to' work extremely well. I loved it, used it all the time. However, a couple of weeks ago, it just stopped working. SO disappointed.

This is a great extension, but sometimes it just doesn't work. I absolutely love using it, but my highlights return to regular old blue highlights though my extension is enabled.

the app is easy to use, unfortunately it has a big limit and a huge bug: 1. it's not connected to my google account so if I open a page that I previously highlighted or annotated from a different device, but still logged in my google account, i can't see anything. 2. after using it for a couple of weeks - same happened to different colleagues of mine - to distribute the annotation activity on a large documentation, we all lost our notes. for this reason it deserves one star.

Hey, I was finally relieved to see others are facing the same issue as I am. The extension suddenly stopped working. I tried the uninstall--clear cookies, cache--then re install method. But it didn't work. Hopefully the developer(s) will look into the matter and resolve it ASAP, as this extension has been really helpful to me. Regards

Hello, I have used this and found it very useful. However, I am having some problem. Even though the extension is installed, when I highlight the text in the browser, the highlight icon is not appearing. I tried restarting Chrome extension and closed Chrome browser and restarted. I have also tried removing the extension and re-installing it. But the problem still persist. Any help and support is greatly appreciated. Also, since I have removed and installed the extension again, will my earlier highlighted changes in the web site would be lost? Thanks in advance.

It seems the latest Chrome build broke the extension completely.

thanks for great plugins all I need from you to offer some addins to extension like : make notes on cloud and if i enter the web page from any device that have the benote plugin with my google account I get all notes not saving on local plus offering some format setting for note like font type, size ..etc

It does not work for me. Nothing happen! When I highlight a phrase on a website, there is nothing appear like shown in the How to use. Also, when I right click and choose "Beannote add sticky note", there is nothing happen also!

Best content highlight note taking app, but it can remember position of highlighted elements, so on big web pages, i cant find anything(

How to change color highlight default ?

This is the perfect app for taking notes on webpages, like recipes! I stopped using Pinterest and started using bookmarks in Chrome with this extension and now I can just search for recipes from our pixelbook and have our notes handy on the page for cooking in the kitchen.

Hey, I have one concern though. I am unable to see all the highlights that I saved in the short list. How can I see the complete list of all the highlights ? or there is a limit to number of highlights . Please guide.

Loved it, really helpful extension. I do strongly recommend it to my mates. Suggestion -> I think it would be great if we could categorise the notes, like for different notebooks or something, and it's really unnecessary, but if we could manually select a color, it would be really much fun.

It said work on all page, but when i try to add note on some news website, it's not working. I only can try it on wikipedia. Is someone same with me?

Made a huge work for several months collecting information and saving it in the Beanotes, then turned it off and when turned on the next day it was all gone -_-

Awesome little extension that everyone should get. Especially recommended for students.

It saves only page url. But web pages have querystrings which are important as url. You can use it only see notes on pages but if you manage notes from the notes list, it fails. The page you saved cannot open, because of the absence of querystring.

Need it to be visible across platforms by simply logging into chrome,otherwise notes are hard locked to one computer.

Simple, elegant, and *extremely* useful. The only two features missing that I'd wish they'd implement are 1) a page where you can see all of your highlights (not just the first few) and 2) a way to delete all of your comments/highlights you've ever made. Other than that, fantastic extension.

I like this app. It is just what I need to annotate on a web page since classrooms are seemingly starting to prefer to utilize online textbooks. Before, I would annotate when I have a physical textbook in front of me but couldn't do this online! I wish I had discovered this sooner! I came across a problem however, not sure if it has to do with how the website is formatted but when i browse the same web page to switch chapters in a book, the sticky notes from the previous chapter are still there! It's weird because it's seems it should be a different page. Edit: Never mind, I used the highlight function to create sticky notes and the problem was solved, thank you for this useful app! Edit: Okay, another edit. I just revisited the chapters and the annotations that I have made on the page yesterday disappeared from the page! This is unfortunate. I may have to use another app.
