Ok folks, THIS is the extension you have been looking for. Great rendering of webpages, easy to toggle on or off. Option to darken or not embedded images or video. Great, great extension.

Works very well for me on-demand. I have it set so its off by default and I can activate it on websites at night.

The CSS of this extension breaks the media content of most sites. I cannot see any images/videos while using this extension. While it does indeed turn everything black, it makes the sites practically unusable. I will find something else.

Darkens stuff, but two big problems: 1. the highlighter color attacks my eyes harder than white pages do. Would be great if there was an option to choose all the colors yourself 2. there should be more customization for specific pages. for example, there is the "darken media" option but it's either off or on for everything. I like it for some pages, but for other pages it ruins stuff and I want it off.

Doesnt work on the chrome store and other sites.

Works really well. In fact a little too well. Sometimes it's a hassle because I have to deactivate it more times than the times I actually use it. Therefore, of course it's missing some tweaks and adjustments. But I guess I can't really ask for it to be adjusted for every single site. That could be solved if they just added the option to "work only on some sites" aside to the "in every site except..." that's already implemented

I tried it on three sites: Facebook, Amazon and Google (Drive/Gmail/Calendar) and it hides critical elements (navigation and other features) on every page. I assume this is unintentional, but it makes the extension unusable for me.

Sure... it makes things dark that are normally forcibly light... But it also blacks out all theme elements on pages, most images on pages... Some pages are rendered completely useless because there is nothing but text on a black expanse. I've had to make a massive array of exceptions for the simple reason that so many pages just don't work right with this app. And other pages, like this one, just plain don't work with it at all. Pretty much I'm only using it because I haven't found a better alternative yet....

Doesn't properly work. Websites flash in white default for a split-second before going to dark. On some sites there are white artifacts (Youtube) that shouldn't be there.

Works really well, however doesn't work well on many websites. A lot of images disappear, and any website that already has a dark theme (youtube, reddit, etc.) are usually better with the built in dark theme than this. But you can blacklist sites, which is nice. Overall would recommend.

Works and is simple. 11/10 for reading articles when combined with the disable-html extension.

Good performance, however, no customization so I found it didn't handle the dark colors as well as darkreader (which I've been exploring alternatives to due to the performance).

The settings are unstable.I remove exceptions that appeared out of nowhere and they come back later. The default is useless.

It doesn't work right on a lot of sights. On some it's great but on Youtube for example the screen turns white on part of it. Opposite of what I wanted.

Looks great. Blacks are just a little too dark. However, it defaults all pages to dark regardless of the preferences currently. I've removed and re-added the extension, making sure to delete C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Extensions\nibjplbnmmklkfnkpecgbffkifmdbjed\ I also checked C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Extensions\nibjplbnmmklkfnkpecgbffkifmdbjed\6.0.0_0\options.js and it reflected the preferences i set! (default theme = light) Version of chrome = 65.0.3325.181 OS = Windows 7 64-bit, Intel HD Graphics 3000, display fully calibrated

Great extension. Does what says on packet. Color scheme is awesome. DOESNT WORK WITH SHOW MY HOMEWORK ;(

Only one issue: On some pages, it'll hide some images. However, the dark theme is toggleable, so you're able to read the image for as long as you need to by turning it off, then you just turn it back on again.

Super good. There is also a really convenient toggle thing on the logo to turn it on and off. Works instantly too!

This extension has been great. However, lately it is not maintaining toggling on many sites. When Chrome is closed and reopened, it losses knowledge of the toggle for that site. Has only been happening the last couple weeks.

Awesome..just what I was looking for

The dark theme works slightly better than a inverter that I have used. The main use of this extension is awesome! Just a suggestion: Do you think you can do a shortcut to enable/disable dark theme when required? This would be a very useful function!

This is pretty good, but some icons that were originally dark are really hard to see with the theme applied. For example, Google Drive

Perfect foe me. Beware of Hacker Vision. They got nosey about me, and intrusively so, to make it worse.

Not a perfect extension, because some webpage elements are hidden when dark theme is toggled on. But I rate 5 stars because I have struggled with eye strain for years and finally have a relief from it. Good extension. I love it.

Good addon but some websites logos doesn't appear like How To Geek website

I love this extension. It's become a mainstay in my collection. However, the toggling transition is jarring. It would be super duper the bestest if you could enable a CSS animation between the layers or something. Thanks for doing stuff and things

Such a nice relief for the eyes, for super users. I found that Dark Reader does a better job, of choosing when to apply dark mode, and if so when to offer slight different tones of darkness to maximixe UX. A good example of this can be seen in the gmail inbox. Dark Theme everywhere, will make the buttons at the top hardly visible, while Dark Reader will change the shading every so slightly so they are clearly visible. Great app though!

One of my favorite extensions! Thank you! One piece of feedback: You should change the color on location change, not content loaded. This will fix websites like Twitter, where the URL is changed but the site isn't reloaded.

Love this Google browser app; is better than hoped for! (I sometimes use with Screen Shader; less jarring when switching back and forth.)

This is the ONLY app that converts chrome into PROPER dark mode instead of INVERSE mode. It's the best app.

Dark page by Default still isn't working, please fix asap.

This is exactly what I was looking for! However, it seems I have to re-activate it each time I change pages, the theme doesn't carry over from page-to-page. That's unfortunate.

[edit: would it be possible to have an exclusion list?] This extension works better than all the other ones I have tried. For the acid test, it "sort of" works on facebook: the header images in groups don't show, and theater mode (click on image) does not show the image. But it renders all columns dark, contrary to other tools that will only render the timeline and not the border columns. You can toggle it on/off easily. But an exclusion list would really help. Some sites are already dark, with optimized font colors, and image galleries work. So excluding the already dark one, to not touch them, would be great! Toggling it off in one tab, it remains active in the others. Very nice. For other sites, with a diversity of websites open in tabs, it worked quite well. Although it can use some improvements, it does better than the others, and therefore, a thumbs up!

Best extension I could find for converting to dark pages. Works just how it should. Has an easy to use on/off button.

Pretty good theme alot better in quality over Dark reader however When browsing Facebook and I click on an Image it won't load, On Youtube the certain parts of the Player is darkened so unable to skip to a certain part of a video, some website the words/ clickable points will be unable to read for example Gmail, Dominos online website. other than that this is a GREAT Extension and I THANK the person who made it :)
