It works like a charm! (ps, you have to interact with the page, like clicking in a random spot, to get it working.
Its working only sometimes, not always. [SOLVED] [Edit]: It's all working now! Excellent extension! It just requires some interaction with the page so it can start working.
@gabrielmaldi - you need to present the following info, more-concisely, to a new user at installation time, and make them "acknowledge" this point somehow, preferably with an animation and/or video. There is no place I see where I am "required" to understand the point below... and without this, your/this chrome extension is possibly doomed to have consistently-less-than-optimal ratings. I am perplexed in how you do not understand this point and have already implemented a solution. Can you please explain? @gabrielmaldi writes on 2022-08-01: "Chrome has this behavior where, after you click on the padlock, the extension won't be able to prevent the tab from being closed until you first interact (i.e. click anywhere on) the page. Please let me know if you try this and it works for you."
There is no 'Lock' item in any tab's context menu. Terry
doesn't work
It didn't work for me either. But good for procrastinators-- you can waste a lot of time fuzzing with it.
Didn't work at all. Followed instructions, interacted with page, then was still able to close tab with Crtl-W. Waste of time.
Amazing extension and just what I needed! However, please add a BIG notice on your README on the Chrome store's page of your extension that after locking, some interaction with the page (at least some scrolling) is required or else it won't be locked. I realized this from one of the reviews here or else I would have given this the worst rating. But it's working anyway now, so please have my 5 stars and thanks a lot buddy!
It does add a lock icon to the tab when that is marked as locked, however locked it is not. I could close the tab by middle clicking it, or by clicking on the X button, or by hitting Ctrl+W. Edit: Initially I had left a 2-star review. It appears like interacting with the page first enables the tab protection. Hence now it is doing its job properly.
It doesn't appear to work, not in Chrome nor in Brave. The extension icon changes to the locked padlock, but I am not being prevented from closing the tab, not with Ctrl-W, not with the X on the tab. It would be nice if it worked, and even nicer if it could show something on the tab itself to indicate that it is locked.
