It seems to remove the autoplay feature of youtube, which is a massive dealbreaker. Having to alt+tab after every song is very annoying.

Is very nice to watch with friends as you can both pause easily without issue, however swapping videos can be frustrating as it desyncs and won't show the next video to friends, forcing you to remake the party in a new tab.

Loving this extension. But if I am trying to listen to a playlist shuffle, it won't autoplay the videos.

so goood! among all the yt sync extensions i tried this one is the best! i don't understand why the ratings are low and similar to the others.

Great Extension! Allowed me to watch youtube with friends and worked very well! Has a few bugs but I'm sure they will be fixed in the next update. I'm very thankful that they made this for free!

Works half of the time

youtube is not letting me share a movie i purchased through youtube with a friend, whether they are logged into my account or into their account. shouldnt i be able to share this because of fair use? it works fine with netflix party or teleparty when we're logged into the same account.

Does this work with moves? My boyfriend and I have tried to youtube party with a movie we both purchased but the links didn't seem to work?

I installed this extension today and I'm impressed!. It worked so easily. As soon as my friend joined the YouTube Party the video started automatically. There is absolutely no delay - we are seeing everything exactly at the same time. Cool!

watch vids with my friends. mostly 80s horror movies and friends are in different states and it works. we watch we chat we snark. free movies already uploaded to youtube.

We tried to use this in class but it didn't work. Everyone only saw the preview to the movie not the actually movie.

while we watch youtube, my girlfriend is continually disconnected from the chat, and cannot write anything, every time we have to go back to the link and re-enter, when do you fix?

Thank you so much for this extension, it works flawlessly. One small bug: videos start playing from the start again when they reach the end. Would you be able to launch this extension on Firefox too? This extension is the only thing that's keeping me on Chrome right now.

Very well made. I do love the availability on sharing it with friends. Its very similar to Teleparty and that's why this extension is of splendid use.

We have a Facebook fan group, and a once a month for birthdays we would watch a concert together - for 3 months. It worked beautifully. The 4th time people were inundated with ads, and not even at the same time. We were out of sync continually. I also really hate that anybody can accidentally stop or restart the video. It messes it up for everyone. Thinking this is not the app we want.

This is by far the best extension, but it is very poor. The chat keeps getting cluttered with random messages like "X played the video at 3:04" even though none of us actually did anything, the video was just playing normally

It's amazing! I was sharing my screen on Discord, but it was lagging a lot. So this worked out perfectly! Thanks!

This extension is trash. It's not opening when I need it to open. Its bad. Garbo. Trash. Should not download.

This is exactly what I need, the app is easy to use and the chat feature is awesome. 10/10 great stuff!

The interface is good and pleasing to the eye. The links worked pretty well. However, I would appreciate a feature where the playback speed is the same for all users. I was watching a video with a friend and only an hour later did we realise that our playback speeds were different, and we were watching different parts of the video.

The only extension that works flawlessly with 5 second skips, quick sessions starts and easy sharing. Developers react very fast to any sort of problems that might occur. I honestly cant believe this is free.

EDIT: The issue was resolved quickly and the extension works well now. Stopped working since new chrome update. I can start the party, but when I open the link in new tab, it turns into normal youtube link (the party= variable disappears). Cannot join anyone's party, nor can they join mine. Is there any update to this?

It no longer works and all links just direct me to a normal youtube video instea of a party. used to be good tho :)

Me and a friend tried to get it to work but on multiple occasions when we clicked on the link it just said 'video unavailable'. This caused masses of fustration and didnt help us with our anger management issues. I would hope that you could improve this so that others dont have this issue with their anger and their time like we did.

Every time we went on the party the video would become unavailable however as soon as we went out the party the video was fine again. This caused so much frustration, would not recommend!

It's the best youtube party app I could find, but as of recently (it started around 6 days ago) it just won't work. Whenever I send the link to my friend, and they click it, the link just turns into a normal one (not the /party one) and it doesn't work. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it and all that, but it won't work on either end. It's a great extension, just won't work anymore

Just found this extension recently and I love it! Im just curious, if I purchased a movie on Youtube, will I be able to watch that with my friend who hasn't purchased it?

Really liking this, just one small thing, is it possible for if you and a friend are watching a YouTube playlist, when one video finishes is it possible to have it automatically play the next video? Because when one video finishes it goes to the next one but doesn't play it, it'd be great if it could auto play the next one, unless there is already a way to do that. Other than that its great!

This seemed to work seamlessly on the one free video I watched. Just curious: if you want to watch a YouTube premium film as a party, does everyone have to buy the film too, or does just the party host have to buy the film?

Chat stops working after "too many comments" or "too much time" (I'm not sure which is the issue). It doesn't help that comments are spammed with play/pause information which may be triggered by other events (like a change in focus with the mouse). I'm using version 2.0.7.

It was all great until it got to the part of sending the link, when i send the link im just sending the video to my friends and not the link of the party. :/

First time using it today and it works great. Got kicked out couple times but managed to joined back in. Love the chat feature! Although I think it will be better if the chat box and the screen get separated into two sections so it won't blocked part of the screen. I know the screen will then become smaller but at least not blocked. But overall it was superb!!!

I used to love this app, but now they have added a chat function that doesnt remove from you screen. The chat covers a good sixth of your video while your watching and it is irremovable. This is awful!

EDIT: It's been working splendidly since 2.0.6. Thank you so much for this amazing extension! (2.0.5) I've been using this extension since way before the major 2.0 update, and while it was a bit glitchy, it still was super effective, and I loved it. After the update, I was able to watch 2 videos with my friends in a YouTube party, then we both got kicked out, and since then, no matter how many times we restart the YouTube Party extension, we cannot join the same party. We tried reinstalling the extension and restarting our computers to no avail. If I try to start a party and someone else clicks the link, the chat box shows that they join and leave within a second. If I try to join a party, it doesn't show me in any party, and it pauses the video after 1 second. This problem persisted in 2.0.3 and 2.0.5. I hope this review was helpful, and I will continue to try using this extension as it updates. If there is something we're doin wrong on our end, please let us know.

It was working fine a few days ago until recently, my friend can't join the party with the link I send despite having the extension.

I am wondering if I am using it wrong and will update if I get suggestion on how to make it work. I downloaded it and I see the icon next to my webbrowser. I went to a youtube page and clicked the icon. A box popped up where I can put a name and it says "Start the party." I click the "Start the party" button, but nothing happens. Am I supposed to do anything else? Is something supposed to happen after that?

Great extension! I was able to watch some funny videos with my friends and family who are overseas and friends who are in quarantine! A MUST have this quarantine season, well done!

It was easy to use and a great tool for keeping in touch with friends right now.

It started working well, but the second anyone joined the session, the video skipped all the way to the beginning- would only play about 30 seconds then keep skipping back to the beginning over and over and it's extremely frustrating.

Our movie does not sync at all. Yes we were in the same session but somehow we could not watch at the same time as in Netflix. So bad :/

feels bad for people that dont know how to use it cause its working super good for us, make your friends download the extension get to a youtube video and click your extension icon to get the link and give it to them.. you can now all watch at the same time

kissing the boys good night while playing lullaby songs wouldn't have been possible during quarantine without this chrome extension, truly thankful for the developers who developed it
