Why are all the channels I've blocked still popping up in my options? This never happened before.

PLEASE add an ability to turn off some features, in particular - the comment blocker. Because i just wanna remove my subscriptions from recommendation list, and i dont want to completely block them.

Fantastic extension. please add an option to allow show comments from blocked channels, I blocked all channel that I already subscribed to reduce repeated suggestions but still need to see comments in its videos. Thanks

Works GREAT; haven't had any of the technical issues described in other reviews. Have many hundreds of spam channels blocked and there's no problem. Fantastic extension.

It seems to work for me most of the time. However, sometimes it doesn't work at all, and even when it does work, I've noticed that certain channels are "immune" to it. The "x" doesn't appear next to them, so they can't be blocked. These are often the ones I most want to block, and it seems like they're also the some of the bigger names. (Color me surprised. [eye roll]) I'd LOVE never to see anything by Joe Rogan again, but apparently, he's exempt from being blocked by this thing. Somebody knows where their bread is buttered.

It's pretty good, but after you added ~200 channels, the "X" button simply doesn't do anything anymore, you can still add them manually though, but that consumes way too much time.

looks like it is working for me. blocked quite a few channels. clicked accidentally on an chinese channel and got bombarded with chinese and indian channels lol. filtering is mandatory since 2010 when algorithms malfunction

Stopped working for some reason. The Xs are gone, and all my blocked channels are gone from the list.

Hasn't worked for me in months, malfunction has persisted through several reinstalls. Was great while it lasted.

I have just downloaded this extension to Chrome and seems to be working extremely well at blocking misinformation (eg: Sky News Australia) that sometimes appears on my YouTube feed.

It works great as chrome extension on my chromebook. It apparently does not work when viewing youtube on my Roku smart tv (I'm logged in with same youtube acct). Great extension. Thanks!

Channel Blocker doesn't seem to work now. I tried to go over a channel I don't like, but the X no longer appears.

It's been working great as far as blocking videos go, but the comment blockers has stopped working properly recently, I can still see comments from certain channels I know I have blocked and whose videos I can't see for some reason. Don't know if it's a bug or not, but as of now, it's perfect for blocking videos, but doesn't work properly when it comes to blocking comments from stupid channels anymore.

Worked great on sites that it worked on. Other sites that pushed The Big Lie apparently are above this extension. Too bad.

The claims that this no longer works are untrue. I added the extension on 09/30/22 and it works fine. I had never needed it in the past but while searching for Ukraine war videos I noticed the results were dominated by channels from India and a few other channels that made these false claims that were simply untrue. I was tired of scrolling through tens of results just for 1 video from a reputable source. Now all those annoying channels no longer show up in searches or in the videos listed to the right of the one I am watching. This should be an option within YouTube it's a shame they require me to add yet another extension to avoid spam as I see it but they do and this is a useful tool to do just that.

No longer works, the X button doesn't appear anymore and it simply isn't blocking channels anymore, find another extension, this one seems to not even be updated let alone worked on anymore since Youtube updated their API.

It still works, kind of. Let me explain, while after initial installation when blocking channels worked I think it no longer ads new channels to the list, even adding them manually no longer works, The channels seems to be removed but I have seen them come back, I am sure of it, it feels like there is a limit on how many names or channels the list can hold, I have even gone back next day to the list in the settings and I cannot see the channel I added the previous day even exporting the list and opening it in something like text editor search revealed the channels is not there. I have sent an email explaining this but so far I have not received a reply from the dev(s). I don't dislike the extension though as the main channels I wanted blocked are, but I feel I am no longer able to add new ones.

By doing a simple search, I encounter a lot of clickbait type videos unrelated to my search. Glad I can block, which I've blocked at least 10 channels that I have no interest in.

Works great but I found writing the channel name manually didn't work; I had to find the channel by searching for it on YouTube and click on the little 'x' between their avatar and username. Great to get rid of certain channels that clog the top of the search results with poor content.

It works just hit the X and the channel won't bug you anymore.

An important feature to block mediocre and toxic content. A feature that youtube should've added before anything else.

I love this extension, sooo much clickbait now days, (or channels that love to push the BIG LIE etc) and if people starting using stuff like this channels will learn not to lie or we will just block them. I also like that you can block people as well. These should be a function built into youtube.

Works as expected. But I have one suggestion. The default block button color is poorly visible if the youtube dark theme is enabled. Red color is more universal than grey.

It no longer works on using searches for things.

Thank God for the this extestion! I've looking for something to block all the channels hating on new Star Trek and Star Wars. I don't go on the internet to find a sea of people crapping on things I like. This is a huge win for my sanity.

What DOES NOT WORK is the "IMPORT Configuration" feature. When you attempt to use it, it hangs the page forever and does not upload the new data. If only this worked, 5 stars, so for now 3.

Doesn't work, the premise is there but with no functionality.

I wish the x button worked on community posts, where there's only text and no video. Lots of bots and crypto scams on those and I can't remove them. It only works on comments on videos. I tried to do it manually by pasting the channel name, but it didn't work.

I don't know how to use it so can you send a tutorial, that would be really nice.

Great extension. I get tons of clickbait gen z/reddit humor videos in my recommendations even though I only use YouTube for music. This has helped greatly in cleaning up the filth so I don't have to see as many garbage videos in my recommendations.

Can't stand legacy media news, but no matter what YouTube is always pushing certain propaganda channels on you? With this extension you can click an X and **poof** gone one by one. Keep getting stupid reaction channels recommended? X them out as well. That guy that always trolls in your favorite creators comment section and sets your teeth on edge. Click X by his name and never read his toxic spew again. Karen crying in the comments? Why wait to see her twice? Click X and make your YouTube nice. 10/10

Block button works but export, Import function doesn't function. What's the point of adding features that don't do anything? Uninstall.

Very simple to use and yet so powerful. It works as advertised. If Google won't allow us to block channel that we don't want to get recommendations whether in our feeds, search results, etc then this is a tool for you. It gives you back the power to actually block channels simply by copy-pasting the channel name in the plugin's settings.

It is very hit and miss. Sometimes it works perfectly and other times it doesnt. There seems to be something that youtube keeps changing that makes the block by title to only work partially.

(Yt) channel blocker (+ adblock) ...if ur sick/tired of yt's RETARDED algorithm (for SO0o many reasons) ig; language, faux news...or certain Yt influencers..etc. Yt's 'do not recommend' is a total waste! This ext/app is a MUST! And it's the only one that works. On my PC this extension is blocking the videos when I search them, but no longer on You tube home page. It would be nice to have it block videos on YouTube Home Page once again. Thanks! Keep up the good work!

Stopped working on Linux.

It works great for blocking Youtube channels i don't want to see every time i search for a subject and it's easy to block any channel when it has an X next to the video.

Stopped working for a couple months now, must be a change in youtube's api for the extension's incompatibility

Doesn't filter out the channels from the search results. Useless.

It worked for a week or two but then the Xs just disapeared and stopped working. I guess the developers only care about the number of downloads and not actually selling what they advertise.

Working app for me. Really helps for blocking channels you don't like such as clickbait. I already got 100s of annoying channels blocked. Never give them your clicks and never pay attention to them ever again. That's great!

Really liked it at first. But lately, it continually refreshes the comments making it impossible to reply to comments or read them. I just installed it to block channels, but sadly it's unworkable anymore.

Works Great! Just what I've been looking for, for undesirable 'to me' Youtube Troll Type Channel Commenters. I now need to find the same for the Bitchute comment section, since they switched from Disqus, there's been no way to block spammy Troll channels in the video comment section. It's unfortunate many content creators now resort to disabling comments, because of the flood of the same troll accounts that make the comment sections almost unusable in some cases. Having to wade through endless trashy attack comments to find genuine ones. Glad this helps eliminate that issue on Youtube for me now. Thanks Guys I believe in freedom of speech & think this approach is best. People who want to see all comments can & people that have issue can block individual channels out. As opposed to some entity playing games with secret shadow ban shenanigans, while shoving particular agendas down your throat whether desired or not.

A necessity if you want to use YouTube without the algorithm bombarding you with a bunch of washed up irrelevant late night talk show hosts and legacy news media channels that thought they could chase the cord-cutters. The one downside is that blocking a channel with this doesn't negatively impact their analytics. Note: the channel block does not work against YouTube Movies in your recommended list, because that's not a channel recommendation. It's an ad, use ublock origin for it.

I love this. I get so annoyed with clickbaity videos on youtube. Now I can just block all these annoying uploaders, and be safe in the knowledge I'll never give them a view again. What I like best is that it completely removed their videos from all youtube search results. It works perfectly, and it will dramatically improe my youtube experience.

Wonderful extension. Sometimes misses a couple videos, and doesn't (at time of review) work with the new Explore tab, but otherwise great.

I use this to block basically every mainstream media channel that comes up when I type just about anything in. At first it looked like it stopped working but as I scrolled further down I was able to block probably 100+ channels. Thank you channel blocker!

Used to work before, now it doesn't. Was suddenly met with a YT frontpage full of garbage content that I had previously blocked.

10 out of 5, great app, 99% of the bad reviews here don't make sense whenever you guys can the extension needs an update cause Youtube updated the Trending tab with Explore and it doesn't work there

NO INSTRUCTIONS. BLOCKS ALL CHANNELS WITH A SIMILAR NAME. You should explain to people that you have to open the settings and put the name, NOT THE URL of the channel, into the list using the extension's settings interface. Maybe your other users are so used to bad or missing instructions that this is just par for the course. I used to have an extension that let you right-click on a YouTube channel & select "block." It would then stop showing up in suggested vids and searches. It was great. However I must have uninstalled it while troubleshooting and forgot to bookmark the link to installing it. I haven't been able to find it, and now dozens of extensions with the similar names are popping up. This is the only one even close to what my old one did is this. Right clicking on links brings up your "report a bug" feature. Why make that something you right-click and not "block this person/channel" ? Ugh, well, I can't complain that much because after I spent 5 minutes trying everything, I was able to enter the name of the channel. and the extension immediately blocks it. ..... you know, AND EVERY other channel that happens to use that same spelling of their name. So if you like a channel called "Mine-nite Fort-craft" and someone else calls their channel that, and makes lousy vids that do well because of sexy girls in the thumbnails, you have to choose blocking both or neither. Whoever used to make the old mod must be working for NASA or CERN or something. More luck to them.

It used to be 4/5 (it just forgot some channels or not taking them into account, but now it's pretty much 1/5, giving it 3 stars for the idea. The videos keep loading and loading and loading under the first one shown. Same in main column and side column. Comments under videos can't be accessed anymore. Definitely this is the extension causing it, because all is good once I disable it. Any other I can get rid of spammy channels?

Thank goodness!. Someone though thought it would be fun to use an uncommon name for an alcoholic beverage in their crazy weird punk rock goth channel. Every search for the word produced that garbage. So glad this completely removes all of those videos from my searches!

This extension feels for me like unfinished. And they never mentioned that you can only block from youtube start-page. Sometimes it shows X and sometimes not.

While I'm not going to call anyone an extremist, I have found that there are some channels that simply cannot be blocked. It tends to be the "verified" channels and some channels don't even have a X to click in search results. For example: if I search "Linux" a list of Linux related videos appear and the X only shows up next to channel names that don't have an avatar. In that case I'd have to click a video from a channel I wish to block, then click the X, then the back button and the channels are sometimes still listed and sometimes not. In some cases that channel not only shows up later in YT's recommended list, but also future search results for the topic search again as if the channel was never blocked, even when the channel is clearly listed as a blocked channel. Additionally, when I watch a video, the recommended list on the right sometimes shows an X, and sometimes not, and still other times not for every video. I have this extension in both Chrome and FireFox. I don't block thousands of channels, just a select few. I'd say < 20.

It did not block certain channels. I clicked block an element to see if that would work. It blocked all thunbnails on youtube on chrome. Doesn't seem to have a way to unblock. Now I have no thumbnails. No web page to explain how to use the extention that I could find. Worst extention I have ever used

Worked perfectly up until Youtube added a new filter to the related videos. This new sorting function broke every video under it, now this extension only works for the "up next" single video that appears at the very top. Extension needs to be updated to counter this, otherwise it's practically useless.

it seems only support blacklisting, not whitelisting, that'd be great for kids. is there a plan?

X button on searched videos page is not showing up. It was there before. I'm not sure why isn't it working.

I was hoped it would block the channels in my YT profile, not just remove them through styling, but that's fine. I used it for a week and now it doesn't work anymore, only the top suggestion has the 'x' on it, and nowhere else is it to be found.

Ever since Google+ had shut down back in 2019, I had been looking for a way to block youtube comments so I couldn't see them anymore, finally. I can at last rest knowing I don't have to encounter toxic commentators again. :)

Finally a extension to block youtube videos that works. I've been searching for an extension like this for some time and none of them seem to work. This one, apparently works just fine, I've only been using for a couple of hours, but every regex that I used is been applied correct and it even has animation when it's hiding some video.

It didn't work. I see see the Youtube channel and their videos even though I added the user name and channel.
