I adore this - I use it literally every day. I'm a video professional, so I watch a lot of video. And goodness am I thankful to have this

Just before I start. YOU CAN MOVE THE CONTROL ANYWHERE ON YOUR VIDEO BY DRAGGING IT WITH YOUR MOUSE!!!! MIND BLOWN or I am just DUMB.... Now on to your regularly scheduled review. I rated this 5 Stars Because it says VIDEO SPEED CONTROLLER not youtube video speed controller and So far that seems to be true and it works. I have played video on a variety of platforms and it worked. Youtube, Rumble, UTREON Etc. IT works. And the Code is on GITHUB if you want to check it.

I can't increase the speed more than 2x. does it work? If yes then please help.

I save so much time with this bad boy

Had worked great up till a couple of weeks ago on Opera, now the speed controls don't load on every second YouTube video - the page just keeps loading (with the vid already playing without the speed controls), and you either have to manually stop the page loading to make the controls appear, or wait for like 2 minutes for them to finally load in on their own. Very annoying, if it gets fixed in Opera, will be perfect again )

amazing and everything I need. When I'm working with a new device I always find myself missing the short cut keys to speed up/down and fast forward/backwards. Really helps me navigate quickly in videos.

By far my most used extension. Works pretty much everywhere

I love it work's in every video even it is working in tiktok and i love it because it is working in youtube short videos

Is it not working on Reddit? It works on all other sites.

Seems to work well, but the controls are difficult to see/access with some videos, so it's not reliable.

Not working after updating Edge to 111.0.1661.44

I use opera which allows chrome extensions. It did not work well on opera. It only increase from 1 to 110 or 90, like 10% only, hitting the knobs did not work more than that.

Suddenly in edge (Chromium browser0 youtube videos won't play anymore if this extension is active

You can skip ads on youtube with this extension. >> settings >> set preferred speed to 4x | 8x ads is fast forwarded and our real video starts with 1x. Thnk me later

The video and sound quality at high speed is great. My internet and system can handle about 3x for HD before stuttering some. I have only the tiniest problem with it: The sped and little panels show up intermittently and I don't know what makes it appear. I run a big screen off my notebook:, maybe the dual screens confusing it.

I find myself reinstalling this every time I get a new device... If only chrome made it more readily available ?

Fantastic Extension! I've been using this one for the past 4 years and it has never failed me! It is an immense time saver and the fast forward feature(X) can even be used to skip entire ads. It's hard to imagine a world without for me - without the ability to skip ads or watch videos in excess of 2 and even 3 times speed.

Been using for over 2 years, never disappointed me. The only thing it made he hate is the fact that you can't use extensions on mobile haha.

My most useful Chrome extension. I use it every day. Use keyboard keys to speed up or slow down almost any web video. YouTube, Netflix, Prime, Webinars, etc. And even if you don't like sped-up videos, you can use it to fast-forward ads.

Terrible. Pops up in the center of the screen, goes back to 1x the speed every time video buffers, causes video player to timeout. (Tried on two laptops & a desktop after all the basic techy stuff: all the same.) Previously read comments prior to installation these things didn't occur until it's latest update but will be uninstalling. At least for now.

Actually a game changer. I watch hours of YouTube a day, and speeding up the video faster than 2x is a big time saver. Also, for playing along to songs, being able to slow it down to 0.7, then 0.8, then 0.9 is extremely helpful for my learning process.

Latest update broke it. On Youtube the video speed conroller overlay is nearly in the center of the video instead of top left. Really distracting. Please fix!

Do u have required training to do and u cant skip videos, well this is super useful to have and saves me a good 30 or 40 mins of my time.

I'm literally a smarter person today because of using this extension over the last few years. I'd rather have this one extension than adblocker. Thank you to the devs for sparing me literally hundreds of wasted hours of my life at this point. <3

If you aren't using this yet.... start using it. I watched the entirety of Better Call Saul in like 2 days. (the acting is amazing but jeesh do they spend a lot of time saying 1 sentence)

One from the most usefull Extension for vast amount of people looking for perfect speed in someone's speech. Google speed gear set on x0.25 is far to basic for the way most of the people talks. When Video Speed Controller gives U x0.1 or even better. Two fingers of my left hand knows that they belongs to 'S' and 'D' keybord keys when YT is on. Thank You for your kindness.

Awesome! Two functions for me, first of all it is obviously a way to speed up any HTML video, so thats useful, but also I recently realized I could remap keys and use it to also skip ahead and behind (the default HTML player doesn't have skipping mapped to any keys!). Overall huge help, and still works with latest version of chrome (as of 10/2022)

Does what it says it does, and it does it very well. But, it could use one more option. Can you please add the option to change the position of the controller? because, on youtube for example, the top left corner gets covered by a box when the video "Includes paid promotions" I'd like to be able to move it in the bottom left corner for example.

Best one out there.. But it doesn't work on some websites.. Hope the develpors will fix this issue <3

I use this extension all the time and it's so useful to get through slow videos. Now it's hard for me to stay concentrated at videos at normal speed

There is no other extension that is more necessary to my life than this one. I have save hours and days, probably months of time by using this to speed up videos.

It has some problems with 60fps youtube videos. Otherwise, a great tool

It's a really great tool. Works on almost every video online. Just wish it can work with mobile version of Youtube.

Excellent extension, must have in my opinion. Not only you can change speed by 0.1+/- from 0.07x up to 16x speed! Going back/forward 10 seconds is also cool. In my opinion the best thing that this add-on can do is e.g. if you watch "free" content thanks to watching adds 5 min ad before and 5 in the middle of thing. YOU CAN SPEED UP ANY ADs TOO, so now you watch 10 seconds instead of 5min. Awesome software I can't imagine working/learning/browsing internet without it.

It works absolutely great. The speed window is very small and can be closed. It's super useful for speeding up mandatory videos which normally don't give you speed controls and generally gives you way more control. I highly recommend.

Very good! Only one issue is that it doesnt pop up for my uni lectures using echo360. If that gets supported this is a five star.

Finally an extension that works with Zoom recorded meetings!!! So good to be able to speed up meetings >2x beyond what the web player allows. This seriously saves me so much time at work.

This is the best thing I found for easily adjusting video speed. What I like the most about this is that, we can quickly increase/decrease video speed with keyboard shortcuts and it's so easy to do that I can do it many many times according to the difficulty of content I am watching. I also like that there is no limitation to the speed, so you can increase the video speed as much as you wish. It always annoyed me that youtube has only 2x for example but sometimes 2x is still slow and boring! Thank you for the amazing extension. I am using it every day.

Very useful

Speed was resetting to 1 after few seconds. Removed other speed changing extensions in chrome and opened the website in a new tab. Then the problem was solved.

Great for speed control, but on some streaming sites (paramount pus specifically), it causes the screen to vibrate because the player is constantly trying to show and hide. Even when I disabled it, it still did it until I had to uninstall to get it to stop.

This is my favorite extension to use in my lineup. It's useful for skipping "un-skippable" ads by either forwarding time or just speeding them up, and it works wonderfully for all the streaming services I use - especially the ones who don't offer speed controls at all. The speed window is moveable and is close-out-able. So don't be worried about it's location, or visibility when watching content. A quick refresh of the page will bring the speed controls back.

Thought I would have no need for this extension, but turns out I was wrong. Unobtrusive and makes controlling video speed via keyboard shortcuts so satisfyingly smooth. Very flexible settings for setting the increments just right.

It works! Tried it on Discovery Plus and works like a charm. I'm so used to watching higher speeds on youtube this is what I need for sites that don't natively support changing playback speed. Also like you can go in .10 increments if you need more granular tuning. 5 stars

Been using for 3ish year, such a good tool. I use it all the time, and it literally works on anything. It is most useful for sites that you cannot speed it up (mainly homework sites).

it super great however i find it difficult to watch things at 1x speed and this just won't work on bbc iplayer, when I first installed it it worked on everything but now it won't work on this particular website, which is upsetting as I want to watch the new doctor who episodes but i cannot

Finally i found what i need

There's something powerful about the tighter feedback loop this extension gives you to controlling audio speed that lends itself well to listening to many things much, much faster. I went from a clunky 1.5x or 1.75x listening speed to easily 2-3x for many things. However, great power comes with great responsibility: I noticed myself speeding up media, or other things that honestly might've been nicer to listen to at 1x. It's easy to forget the subtle parts of the world and miss out on them when you're going so fast.

Igrigorik's "Video Speed Controller" is my favorite video speed controller extension. I suppose I may have just grown accustomed to it & have trouble using the other ones because of such, but I verily believe this must be more than good just in my eyes, but technically/objectively good too.

This is the only way I can cast videos from my Chromebook with playback speed control.

Fantastic extension, use it daily! Substantially improved my productivity. It no longer seems to work on BBC iPlayer though, which is sad :(

Um I can't get the controller to pop up with v, am I doing something wrong?

I LOVE this extension - it works great on almost anything. I am unable to get it to work on Facebook videos. I saw a youtube video from 2018 where someone said it does but it doesnt for me now in 2022. Any ideas?

It's genuinely amazing. It's such a small change in function 'just speed up or slow down videos, skip 10 seconds forward or back'. But i promise you it revolutionizes video watching across all platforms. It is amazing and I would go insane without it. I would pay for this if it stopped being free... It's incredible.

I use this plugin CONSTANTLY. It works great for YouTube and several other video sites, and the keyboard shortcuts are make speeding up videos a breeze. Thanks for making such a useful tool!

The keyboard shortcuts don't work. Also, if I set the speed to a certain value and then rewind the video back or forward, the speed resets. Trash extension.

Please allow me to remove the default shortcuts in the settings (like the settings that you can manually add). I will change this to five stars once that gets added.
