Does nothing, at least on MacOS.
Awesome extension. Very useful! I wish we could change the background colour, font and size of the pop-up and also for the size it showed the original size of the image, rather than the size of the image in its current state (downsized by JavaScript for example).
It's not doing anything when I click on it
I click on it when the browser has nothing but a local jpg image and nothing happens
Doesn't seem to do anything in Mac OS.
It doesnt work
As long as the extension is enabled, CPU is 100% and prevent system from sleeping. Highly suspect shady mining business is going on.
Terrible Options interface; annoying banner on startup with broken link
If there's no information, it shouldn't show a full popup. Ideally it'd show nothing. If that was fixed this would be very useful.
EXIF Tags were still showing even if the images were closed and I have navigated to other pages. This tool is more annoying than useful. I'd suggest not to show tag but use context menu instead.
Simple and useful. Just does what should be done and nothing else.
fails W7 Chrome Version 58.0.3029.110 (64-bit)
Does nothing. Zero. Zitch. Instructions say to over the mouse over the image at the data will appear in upper left. Wrong. Tried it everywhere. Wasted
awesome
very goood
It does not work on pictures in frames, and the performance is a little bit slow. The EXIF display UI is far from pretty and too small, I prefer the UI of a firefox extension named 'Exify'. While I do not like this extension, but I have no other choice for now, so I will continue using it. Hope it will be improved. Regard.
Good
No EXIF found on any image- using Macbook Pro, using Chrome
doesn't do anything and can't uninstall it
I dont understand how to add tags to find geotag data pretty much only reason I got this
Does exactly what it says it does. Long time user etcetc
Great plugin, would give 5 stars if only it showed the lens ID info. It's in the EXIF, it's useful, soo... why not?
ยอดเยี่ยมมากครับ โดยเฉพาะภาพที่มี GPS มีแผนที่ขึ้นมาเลย
A must have.
I had great hopes for this plugin, but for some reason the plugin showed only "EXIF not found" on all pictures even if they had EXIF data (checked with Jeffrey's Exif Viewer). Tried to restart Chrome several times too. Uninstalled for that reason :/ And oh, I'm on OSX and Chrome version 49.0.2623.87 (64-bit), should that be of any help for the developer.
Love this Just switched to this from Exif Viewer by Aruna (that plugin stopped a number of websites loading properly as reported by a number of users & the developer doesn't seems to be fixing it) It would be nice to see a few more tags supported like Lens Info etc but overall - very nice
I like how it works, but it needs more fields and more intelligent parsing of the fields. But I love the hover and GPS link, it's fast and unobtrusive.
Didn't work for me.
Awesome stuff. Incredibly helpful and flexible. Thanks.
So I stopped using this as they removed the hover functionality however a few months on and it looks like its back so well done. Just installed again on Chrome Version 47.0.2526.106 m Windows 10 x64 and its working flawlessly. For a free extension its fabulous. I can instantly see EXIF info on photos and as a photographer this is a excellent utility. Thanks Rodrigue!
Hover information is back! There is not tag for lens identification and this data IS in EXIF data. Would be very useful to add this. This info for me would upgrade it to 5 stars.
Not working at all. I enabled the new permissions and the viewer is not working. The new update just ruined what was working.
Works awesome!! I don't see any issues with any new/older vesions now.
Why it needs "read and change all your data on the websites you visit"? The developer doesn't respond to this question at the support thread. It was great, but now I do not recommend it.
I liked where the info could be seen on the right side of the browser. How do I get that back? There was a LOT more detail to be seen there, and it was a much better improvement.
Thanks for new update... It's working again and I'm happy now :-) best EXIF Viewer!!!
Version 2.4.4 works great!
The Old Version was much better. This new version is useless
I don't like new version :(
It's asking for permission to "read and change all your data on the websites you visit" without any explanation. This is very dangerous. Not recommended
As of today, after the update, it no longer works? UPDATE It's working again, great extension and great response from the authors.
Please bring back the old hover view
Was great until the new update, now it doesn't show the info by just hovering the mouse over the image, also why does it need new "permissions" to read and change data. If it ain't broke.....
new permission to read web pages? no explanation at all?
Simple and easy to use allowing a reasonable range of EXIF tags to view. No need to click into menus just to see a result and the filters are really quite nice.
no UI no function no good
good
As you probably know it does not work. After it installed I cannot find the extension.
barely works. NOT intuitive.
To all the people complaining that other people complain that this doesn't work: If half the users can't tell the difference between working and not working it's just as bad as it actually not working. This extension is a failure.
doesn't work, can't even open app.
doesnt work in chrome on win7
good
No extension icon installed. Doesn't appear in any menu context or otherwise. Effectively doesn't work.
Doesn't seem to work anymore
Excellent tool. I am loving it.
The people says this extension doesn't work, they should try upload photos to some Free FTP and then try this extension, you can find even your exact location. facebook and many social network sites will delete your EXIF data to protect your privacy.
Does 100% of nothing !
broken
Works well with geotagged images and google maps. But lack of right click to show detailed exif is a let down
Won't work
doesn't work, it says EXIF not found
Doesn't work.
Didn't work for me.
Many people complain that it always says "exif not found", but it is very common for websites today to wipe EXIF out of user uploaded images, to protect privacy. If it cannot find the EXIF, thats because the EXIF data simply does not exist.
It works when there is exif data available.
Disables right click
bad...
Does not work at all.
Didn't render EXIF text, crashed.
Always says exif not found
SUCKS!!!
Doesn't work.
not good!
Nice Add-On. Very useful! (of course if EXIF was not captured or did not persist through image processing then it will not be present)
I gave it a test run over googling "baseball" and on every image it's "EXIF Not Found"
I was unable to get EXIF information for any image.
Doesn't seem to work.
Don't work
Don't work in facebook, Don't really work at all,,, Sorry....
Nice, but 5* with a couple of improvements (unless I've missed them) - allow display of any copyright info, and allow change from hover to something like right-click. Another option which would mean all images could be displayed, including backgrounds, would be to have a panel like the developer tools one with listed all images and their data.
Almost perfect..
It works on pics that contain EXIF data, as the label says.
This is functioning well for me so far. But it is disappointing how many images online these days are stripped of their exif data. I understand why (I do it to my photos too!), but it makes being nosy/curious a bit less rewarding. Most images I've moused over, on a variety of sites, show a bunch of "N/A" values. Party poopers! I would like to have the option to make the exif info window appear just above, below, or to the side of the actual image. Anywhere except splat on top of what I'm trying to view. With smaller images the EXIF data can smother the whole picture. Another thing that would help is an option to change the font size in the info bubble. The 12pt(?) Arial font makes for an unnecessarily large bubble. 7pt would do me just right. TIP FOR USERS for whom this extension doesn't work immediately: If you have other extensions or scripts enabled that "do stuff" upon image mouseover/hover, you'll have to disable them in order for EXIF Viewer to do its thing. For example, I had to turn off my hover-to-enlarge-image extension before this extension would work. Can't have allll of the cakes I guess! (I'm sure it's possible, but I don't feel like tinkering with a workaround right now.) So, disable conflicting scripts and then refresh your pages.
Love it. does have two issues. when viewing JUST the image (no html). the info bar is on the bottom of the image (used to be on top like on a page). can we move it back? and when viewing just the JPG. if it has GPS. it doesn't indicate (like it does on an HTML page with the RED). and make it clickable again. my only complaints. but AWESOME addon/extention.. (and why does some sites. like some Tumblr scripts block the ability to utilize this wonderful addon?)
nice add-on
So far so good.
a suggestion: it could add an option to set whether or not the tool shows the exif tips BY DIFFERENT FILE TYPES OF THE IMAGE. because some image type(like animation gif) usually need not been shown any info
Works great but as others have said makes clicking on links difficult. Would be great to add a key for it to work. Example. ctrl + mouse hover = brings up exif information
Simple is more!
Works great.
Places info over every graphic and blocks you from clicking on a lot of links... great concept but a pain
I love this chrome extension!
I would prefer it be a context menu rather than an overlay on an image opened in its own window. Also, this extension tracks your usage through Google Analytics. I don't really see why that's necessary.
Works great however on install I would only see "{ExifViewer.CameraModel} | {FocalLength}mm F{FNumber} {ExposureTime} ISO{ISOSpeedRatings} | {DateTimeOriginal} | {Software}" To fix it, I had to insert a $ before each bracket: "${ExifViewer.CameraModel} | ${FocalLength}mm F${FNumber} ${ExposureTime} ISO${ISOSpeedRatings} | ${DateTimeOriginal} | ${Software}"
Go to option and change the settings like this. ${ExifViewer.CameraModel} | ${FocalLength}mm F${FNumber} ${ExposureTime} ISO${ISOSpeedRatings} | ${DateTimeOriginal} | ${Software} It works for me.
I got the problem when installing that all the dollar-signs in the template were missing therefore nothing worked. Changed it to ${tagname} for each tag and then it worked.
You have to go to options and put a $ in front of each item. Then it works properly.
Didn't work right when I installed it- you need to go under the options setting and put a $ in front of each value you want to see displayed. Once I got over that, the extension works grandly!
Excellent quick extension once properly configured. Lens information would be helpful, but copyright info would make this extension perfect. Please add support for Authors and Copyright.
