I am using it in Opera. And it works great. I am using it to override Opera's silly override of custom speed dial in a new tab. This is to use FVD Speed Dial. Just one suggestion. When new tab is loaded, would that be possible to highlight in browser address bar and extension URL/page address selected in Custom URL in options? Reason: it would allow user to start typing a search phrase immediately after selecting a new tab. Current Focus on Address Bar just adds caret at the end of URL
I like the simplicity of this extension. But since one of the recent updates whenever I open a new tab/page the focus is in the Google search field and not in the URL address bar as previously. That's the only reason for 4 out of 5 stars. UPDATED to 5 stars after the developer's helpful comments!
Works perfectly for Opera GX, changing speed dial to Momentum, or Tabs for a Cause.
How do you get an extension's url to paste in as your new tab page?

I reset Opera Version:79.0.4143.22, and am trying to get Bing to stick in the extension. No matter what I do, it keeps reverting to chrome-extension://mjfahldkpjhcnfbbmdhpjolcjpcfhcpj/google.html after I hit Save. It was working before! Am I doing something completely stupid? TY!
Awesome! Many features. Easy to use. Thank you for making it! It even works on Opera, at least for now. I hope Opera doesn't disable this extension like they did to all others. They like to prevent you from modifying their precious "new tab" experience.
I seem to be having the same problem as someone else. I'm using this on Opera with FVD Speed Dial. But it doesn't always open the correct tab. It opens Opera's speed dial page instead quite a bit. Sometimes it works first try and sometimes i have click new tab 2-5 times before the correct tab opens. I should check and see if any other extensions are messing with it. I'm not sure what the issue is.
Best extension - powerful options. Set it to focus the url address bar on new tab change, so when you open a new tab, you can just start typing into the address bar. With some other extensions, you have to click the address bar, then type. That is annoying. This lets you continue using the "Cmd + T" new tab as you did before, as without the extension.
It's not bad, but it's barely an improvement (for specific users that want Google services plastered all over their newtab page) over the default that I'm left wondering why? I mean it doesn't even support "themes" (images) or even different search engines. Was pretty much just looking for a blank newtab page that supported my theme so I didn't have to see that ugly search bar and other icons. Actually that's a lie Microsoft Edge's theme support is really buggy and keeps regressing to having bars on the side of my newtab image which is why I was looking for something else.
really good and easy to use, but when I click on focus on address bar. opera GX responds with blocked by client. I really want to use this browser but that makes it unusable. is there any way to fix this?

This new tab page extension is AWESOME for taking care of that pesky search marquis thing that always pops up in the new tab page, but the only things I don't really like are: 1. It doesn't let you make shortcuts so you can easily go to tabs that you use frequently like the normal new tab page 2. You can't change the clock time on the bottom left corner of the page, or change the clock settings from analog to digital. If this new tab start page could improve on those things, it would be amazing!

the shortcuts on this extension have literally saved my life. never written a review before. If you're mildly tech savvy and you didn't read above YOU CAN CTRL+ALT+RIGHTCLICK TO DELETE ELEMENTS not to mention CONTROL+ALT TO TRANSLATE. insanely convenient.

Very nice, the only annoying thing is the shift+ctrl pop-up with translation that cannot be disabled... I frequently use the shift+ctrl combination for selecting text but rarely I need it to be translated, so I always have to close the pop-up window... Please assign this function to a different combination of keys!

Awesome! just there is a small delay between closing the default start page and opening the forced one on Vivaldi. I find it funny how a browser that promises more functionality for power users and flexibility makes you go trough hoops just so you can change your default speed dial.
Very good, especially for getting it to work on Vivaldi, but on Vivaldi it opens two pages when I press New Tab: one which is the new tab redirect I was hoping for, and one that is the default Vivaldi start page (this page redirects to the new new tab if I click on it). This could be because I'm using an old version of Vivaldi (I'm on Windows Vista) but I thought I'd point it out to you anyway.
Really like it, but only problem lies in the fact that if make a new window it falsely activates erasing my current screen and making it the new tab screen. (it makes the new tab screen on my current page rather than the new window I just made especially annoying if watching videos etc.
