Youtube and their stupid design blocking the videos with "suggested" videos that you can't even remove. This plugin works. I'm happy.

I've been using this extension for years and I love it! The only downside is that it hasn't been updated in about 4 years. If it did have an update, I'm sure the creator would add an option to turn off auto-play of the suggested video at the end of a video.

This extension has done wonders for me by removing distracting content like recommended videos. It works well and doesn't seem to have any bugs for me. My suggestion is that YouTube Shorts should be removed/made inaccessible as I find it another source of irrelevant content. It starts with one video which may be relevant and can turn into hours of mindless scrolling and that's never good.

It is a great extension and is very helpful. However, I have isolated it as the cause of a bug with YouTube I have been dealing with for a while. It can cause the videos on the home page to show up peculiarly. Particularly, it can make all of the videos display on one horizontal line with tiny YouTube thumbnails, even when deactivated. Once this bug is fixed, I will adjust my rating. Creator, feel free to reply to me with an email address that I can contact so we can discuss this further.

I will give it 5 stars due to it having served me well, and it does everything well on desktop. However I do want to add one thing while I understand chrome on mobile is impossible it'd be nice if more support was added for phones so that extension friendly mobile browsers would work better as I found myself just using my phone more so recently had to switch to unhook.

Maybe its because of my other youtube extensions but disabling the trending tab actually disables the subscription tab for me

It's a great tool. It has some serious bugs however, the home page (youtube.com) doesn't load properly, it keeps loading and loading, and then shows 3 or 4 videos.

Useful extension so that you don't look through Youtube like a mindless zombie. Youtube has started to put stuff that has nothing to do with what you search for in search results. It'd be useful if you guys could update the extension to block "for you" in search.

I really really love this. i'm autistic, so I often get hyperfocused on browsing & watching my subscriptions, instead of just going to bed. the only thing I'd ask for is the ability to create a scheldule. ie: 9 pm to 8 am, mon-thurs, or something like that. It's hard to remember to turn it off in my downtime!

Doesn't work in Windows 11, it was working in my previous laptop that I had with Windows 10.

Works well for me! Now we just need an option to remove the youtube Shorts and Originals as well and it's perfect!

I almost never write reviews on Chrome extensions, but I went out of my way to write this. It's way good at keeping you focused when using YouTube. No more do you have to forget what you were looking for because YouTube just threw you to it's hit or miss algorithm. Enjoy!

I should have download this extension sooner. I don't realize how much time I have wasted on "auto-pilot mode" click pattern. For example: I automatic click on YouTube home button or visit this site whenever I feel distracted. Then click one of those homepage feed video's wasting 10-60min. of my life :'(

I really like it and it's definitely a 5 star BUT my "Hide Notification Bell" doesn't work. Would you please fix it?

Probably my most valuable extension. Allows you to use YouTube for singular purposes and not get sucked into the black hole they have designed to grab the bottom of your brainstem. Get DF Tube.

Love this extension but please consider adding an option to hide chapters from the timeline of a video. They often get in the way instead of being useful.

Absolutely brilliant app which has prevented needless hours of youtube dark hole trips

It helped me keep my kid away from the screen. I am not against cartoons in principle, but with so many suggestions after each video, my daughter was not able to stop watching. Now we have moderation. And everyone is happy! I'd like to make a donation by the way, how do I do that?

I loved the extension. But the just one thing you can add is the option for no reels.

Very great extension if you have the determination to not turn it off, I found YouTube to be less distracting and overall make life more distraction free. Only issue I found with it which is why I'm uninstalling is even whenever the extension was disabled YouTube took forever to load and found that this extension may make your Youtube home page not load at all, or take close to 10 minutes for the search bar to even be usable. There may be a fix for this in the future but at that time of this review that's where this extension stands.

2022 Mac, YouTube page won't load after installing this extension. Running latest Chrome, not beta.

This is an amazing tool, I have shown it to so many people, I sincerely thank you for creating it. A few simple suggestions: one, perhaps it could work upon first install without refreshing, that creates friction that may stop some hesitant people from continuing to use it. Two, it could have a dark mode that corresponds with Chrome/the OS's dark mode; it is quite uncomfortable to open it at night. Three: the order of the options doesn't quite make sense, as disabling/enabling comments requires you to scroll down, which creates so much friction that I typically will disable the whole thing just to see comments, which often gets me trapped down recommendation rabbit holes. It would be nice if comments could be disabled on the main screen or at least without having to scroll down the options. Thanks again.

The extension has recently stopped YouTube's homepage from loading if the app is installed but even when the app is in OFF mode

It really helps, and it is free, what else? You may have some problems with reloading the main page, but since you already want to watch youtube only intentionally, you'll find what you want. No problem there so far

The extension itself is great and I love it, but it's kind of unusable as it breaks youtube homepage even if disabled within the extension. You have to uninstall it or go into Chrome settings and disable it there to fix the YT homepage. This is the reason I uninstalled it last time and I think it will be the reason I will have to uninstall it again...

(alternatives resigned along the way, because it requires continuous work) ? ? ? ? (- Calkuta? What about us working together as a dreamteam?)

I love the design, it's also very useful for blocking unwanted content.

I am experiencing slow or nonexistent load times similar to others in these reviews within the last month or so. Disabling it in the extension manager fixes it but not the activate deactivate button from the extension itself.

Youtube doesn't load at all, even with everything unchecked

One of the most straightforward and helpful extension! The updated YouTube "sneak-peak" comment bar may need an update for hiding it. → it is: 1) below the YouTube video description and tool bar; 2) right of channel subscribe button and notification bell.

Really good when it works, but tends to break youtube's layout often (such as right now).

Very good, but there has been a bug for the past few weeks where if you have the extension turned off, and try to check the homepage, it will not load.

This extension allows me to use YouTube for what it's best for -- learning. When I'm on the job or otherwise just don't want to be distracted, this extension is a fool-proof way to avoid getting sucked into some recommendation.

I can say that this extension is actually the reason for my productivity I was actually addicted to You tube. Now I can hop on to the site and find whatever I want to learn and not fall under the rabbit hole. The only thing I can ask is if you guys can make an application for phone as well, that would be great.

I liked it very much. It removed each of the annoying features. It works perfectly. But I would like to ask about a certain glitch when you click the DF Tube extension during dark mode, it stays dark even when it is light mode. I've uninstalled all the dark mode apps and uninstalled and reinstalled DF Tube it stays in the dark mode, showing nothing and making it hard to navigate the settings.

Does the neat work that it claims, makes youtube distraction free, so that some random video doesn't pop up while I am watching some important video and I feel like watching that.

Works straight out of the box to hide all the parts of YT that makes YT use you instead of the other way around. Much easier to avoid binging.

I never leave reviews. But I just wanted to say that this extension is amazing. It removes the worst (addictive) aspects of youtube, like the home feed and recommended videos (along with many others) cleanly and effectively. 10/10

I hate this extension. Everyday this I want to uninstall this app. But in doing so, those 5 mins to go uninstall it I remember why I have it. The only time I get annoyed it's on (and think about turning it off) is when I realize I am procrastinating. This Chrome Extention is actually amazing. You can toggle the Comments, Like/Dislike, Auto-play, and other features of youtube even including the recommended feed. If you working from home and need to make sure you are not sucked into a youtube worm hole this is a low-profile feature that will keep you on track. Cheers!

This is actually amazing... I didn't even realise how much I was subconsciously going to YT. Even with the extension, I keep subconsciously visiting the site even though I get no video's displaying anymore. It hits home just how bad my procrastination/addiction was when I then subconsciously open another YT AGAIN just 2 seconds later... It literally became my default state oe being. I'm glad to say this extension has brought that habit to a grinding halt and I now have hours extra time everyday.

As a recovering youtube addict, I am thankful this exists. I have been able to get far more done in my time using this extension than I did before. I already knew for years that I wanted to quit watching so much garbage content recommended to me by outdated algorithms, but this was before Edge extensions were frequently used. Now I have time to read a ton of books, and when I do go back to watching youtube, I am no longer outraged by having to see politics all over my screen when I'm watching a completely unrelated video! This app made a terrible service almost usable again! Thanks so much!!! Also keep supporting BitChute and similar sites if you are annoyed by youtube's policies and algorithm!
