I love this! It works great and I can download it incase anything happens!

I only want this extension to do one thing, and it does that perfectly!

Doesn't work for me., if i export session the sessions.txt file is empty, the extension is also pretty limited in functionality. No crashed session recovery, have to manually save session, can't save selected windows to session. Prefer Session Buddy, as all these features, plus a nicer interface and better ways to manipulate (add/remove) windows or tabs from saved sessions before opening them.

Unreliable.

Lost all of my sessions for no obvious reason (after using for half a decade with no problems) This app cost me literally half a decade of research. I used it just fine for years, and it was very reliable, but then I suddenly lost all of my tabs (we're talking thousands of tabs that were useful in my career and hobbies). Luckily I saved a lot of what I needed on my phone, but after all the use this app has given me, I am upset and very angry that it would fail so completely and utterly. You should be very careful with this app. Either get a better session manager, or make sure to export your tabs frequently because as reliable as it seems, it could be gone with little explanation. I can see many other users shared my experience, so I just wanted to add my voice to the chorus of unanswered voices. I'm not saying this app is useless or doesn't work, but it needs to come with much more severe warnings to prevent people from losing as much data as I did.

I've used this extension for years with no problem - but this month, I open Chrome to find all my sessions have vanished from Session Manager, with no way to get them back! So, it seems it's no longer reliable (also check the support page for other people with the same problem).

Functional and pragmatic. I really like the feature where I can save a single tab in an existing but non-active session. Having said that, the extension is admittedly not up-to-date and doesn't support all relevant (and maybe new) Chrome features (i.e. pinned tabs, tab groups). Nevertheless, it helps me organize my browsing sessions and enables me to switch effortlessly between work and home/private "profiles". Also, Chrome itself has this bug where it doesn't always restore all tabs from last night. Session manager helps me counteract that as well. Could be a bit prettier, though. #niceToHave

It works until you try to open saved session in incognito window. It will open all links in nearest normal window instead..

Even though its last update was 4+ years ago, I prefer using this extension for Chrome's tab session restoring. However, this extension does not support restoring Tab Groups. Restoring sessions results in disorganized tabs, which then need the user to manually reclassifying everything back into Tab Groups. Google now has the Tab Group API listed as working since Chrome v89: https://developer.chrome.com/docs/extensions/reference/tabGroups/ My hope is Session Manager can now use Chrome's Tab Groups API to get it implemented. Everything else with this extension, works great, so this is a 5* review as soon as Tab Group restoration is implemented.

Considering there is not a single app in the webstore that can automatically save tabs for a particular session (must be something to do with the design of chrome itself), this is the one app which does the job best if all you want is to store few windows with multiple tabs each. I open related tabs in a window and save it using the session manager, each time there is a significant change to the tabs or if i am closing the window with just one click I can update the session. This feature is lacking from all other session managers out there.

I wish the Tab Sessions would be sync to the cloud, and used crossed devices.

Great Extension, loved the Import and export functionality. One suggestion : while opening a stored session, please close the other tabs of chrome and show only the URLS mentioned in stored session. Also please let me know if you this extension for Firefox also.

I swear this extension used to let you save multiple windows in one session too (like you could have 10 tabs open in one window and have a second window on that same session with another few tabs open. Would've displayed like (15/2) under the session name. Either I'm thinking of a completely different extension with the exact same name and icon or the developers of this extension for some reason removed that feature. Review will remain at 1 star until said feature is added/re-added. In the meantime if anyone knows of the feature I mean and knows a good manager with the option to save windows as well, please link it to me.

What is the problem with this extension?!! ONCE AGAIN it LOST ALL of my saved sessions!! First time I lost stuff that I had for YEARS! Now, it only took about 2 months to wipe everything out!! THIS THING IS JUNK!! I am LIVID that I have LOST my saved sessions for ever and always!! POS!!

Saving session is as simple as SAVING SESSION! Means you are covered up! Means saving your efforts and protecting critical searchs! After using the app for years, all of a sudden the app gone wrong and started to store fake sessions! Out of 70 tabs it only restores 4 tabs and repeat them in many windowses. And this is the case with all of my recent sessions, so BE AWARE!

Super helpful and straight forward tool. Saves me lots of time when browsing online!

Every now and then you lose all your sessions for some bewilderingly inexplicable reason. An utter catastrophic failure of a browser extension.

I find this extension very useful, If you have a lot of sessions it would be useful to be able to search for a tab session name instead of having to scroll down and find it.

Worked well at first and then all my saved sessions disappeared :(

It's an extremely useful extension. I use it every day. There's just one thing I think it should have, though. There should be a way to organize my sessions. I have different sessions and I can't put the most used one at the top of the list for example. Still and great extension, anyway.

Never worked as well as ones do in Firefox and a very big disappointment, especially when it doesn't work as advertised! Look for something else

This is my 'go-to' tool for all of chrome. I'm a developer / proj mgr and its so neat to easily save a set of tabs to come back exactly where you left off on another day.

Love it! I have used this extension for many years and had no problems, as when i brought a new laptop i was able to export and then import the sessions from my old one to my new one.

It doesn't save pinned tabs, which is inconvenient.

Looks like this extension hasn't been updated since Oct. 2016 as of this review, and with so many people experiencing problems, I doubt it will get fixed any time soon.

One big problem: does not save sessions. i.e. session cookies aren't retained. Otherwise it's not too bad, simple and functional.

this used to be an excellent product, it no longer works at all. the save button doesn't work.

Great extension, not perfect but I really like the interface and what has been done so far! Still more to go, but this is great for something basic, not very advanced and doesn't need a ton of accounts and bells and whistles.

Granted, it may not be the most robust extension in my toolkit, and it may lack a couple of features I really want, but the fact is that I rely on this constantly, and have yet to have any major problems with it. I still have too many tabs open at a time, but this allows me to shove individual tabs into sessions for later, and that is one of the most critical strengths of this thing. If teddy.io had a Patreon, I'd kick in just to find future development.

Hmmmmm, lately I decided to edit this remark - this utility should be Cloud Based so ALL sessions, office, home etc., add up to a SINGLE session list so I dont have to export & import all the time. I use this utility very often. I'm used to it since Firefox 3.5 ... It works perfectly, but one thing - with every new version I get - all of my saved sessions are gone! blup and there it is empty! Very Annoying - since sometimes I have as many as 3 simultaneous Irons open with dozens of tabs in one session! Either there is an Export/Import option or users get a warning BEFORE any upgrade. Apart from that - work perfectly [hmmmm ... said it already (-;]

Work perfectely. I use for news to have 5 website opening togheter for 3 diferent language I speak. For sure you need to save your session. Once is done is done. For me work just fine. I use it on Yandex browser.

You can loose all your sessions! The only way to guarantee you've saved your sessions is to export your entire list every time you save a session. It's easier to just browse and search your chrome history.

does not do session auto-save , backup ... I lost 50tabs because they werent manually saved. App should learn from FIREFOX Session-manager which is completely another level.

Isn't even remotely as useful as firefox extension. Where are like 3/4ths of the options??? Where the hell are my crashed sessions?? I just lost like 30 tabs and they are no where to be found.

Great Extension. I use it everyday, just wish it had an auto save feature i.e. save current session every x minutes. that way your session is updated even if you forget to replace it. Still a great and useful extension. Thanks for all your hard work in creating and maintaining this extension.

Had this for about 2 years. Removing now. Its quick and easy. However, over these years the content that I save painstakingly disappears periodically without warning. Tentatively noticed this each time there is some update to the extension. Looking at alternatives - better to have content with a little hassle than lose content altogether!

Just what I was looking for! I tried a couple of other session extensions, but they let me save only ALL open windows. Session Manager lets you save each window's tabs separately. Thanks for the great work!

What I like about is I can be in one session and come across a tab I need to be in a different session and simply add it to the other session. As an example: I could be browsing around in a Session named Research and find a job that would be interesting. I can add that tab to my Job Session tabs without leaving my Research Session. What I do not like. When you want to go to another session, it will load the different session on top of the session am on. I have to delete all the tabs of the current session or end up with 2 sessions added together.

Not perfect, but the best one out there. (Chrome really needs intergrated auto saved sessions, classic bookmarks are not made for that)

in a word: AWFUL!Session manager in Firefox is far better (I use the visibo version). Unfortunately the visibo product for chrome is not very good..not as simple to use. That said there is nothing of value with this extension...should not be offered

Does exactly as advertised. Save, open, add, modify, and remove a current Chrome session set of tabs. Export and Import these saved settings. Quick, easy, no frills. Very useful for what it is.

THIS SESSION MANAGER IS A CRAP, COMPARED TO FIREFOX. DOESN'T EVER SAVE CRASHED SESSIONS...WHY? THE APP ALSO CRASHES FREQUENTLY & NO BACKUP OF PREVIOUS SESSIONS CAN BE MADE..REALLY FRUSTRATING..

better than others.. has the ability to save the sessions to a file.. so in case of crashes etc.. you can recover that stuff :)

Works great and is my favorite session manager! I agree with another reviewer that I wish it's stored sessions were account based so I could store on one Chrome and use on another.

Sometime changes the order of tabs during new session opening

Been using this for several years and it works great for what I need. Only improvement I'd like to see is ability to open individual tabs in a session (you can see them by hovering over "# tabs" on left side of dropdown, but you can't select them or even copy them as far as I can tell... :) A way to share across multiple computers (as some others suggest) would be nice as well. Great job thanks!

As easy as counting the numbers!!! It's simple yet very fast and powerful. It's one of those must have extensions.

I would call this an upgrade of the Session Manager from tirokea. It has much more flexibility in which tabs and windows you want to save so you can organise your windows in a more productive and concise manner. One small improvement would be to have the option to open the saved session into a new window rather than opening a new window then reload the saved session. Other than that - amazing!

I'll second Ronal's review. Restoring crashed sessions, and a feature to live update a specific session might solve some issues. In it's current release, it's pretty much just manual bookmarking.

There needs to be a way for it to open a session of multiple windows and remember which monitor they were used on.

The Chrome version of session manager, compared to Firefox, sucks. It doesn't save crashed sessions so I can restore after Chrome locks up and crashes. In Firefox, it has an option to remember and restore crashed sessions. Having to manually save tab collections is pretty stupid because I frequently load different tabs and can't be manually refreshing it every 30 minutes. Which defeats the whole point of managing sessions.

I'd like to have auto replace currently opened session when opening another from the list (kind of autosave). That would make it perfect. For those who don't want that, just some checkbox in options would do the trick. And another thing, clicking on name should open session, and "Rename" where is the rest of options would be more logical. Anyway best session manager I've tried so far.

So far I really like how this works. I only wish I could have a preference to open the saved session into a new window directly, as opposed to creating a new window and then opening them.

A wonderful, useful, and efficient "must have" for those who need to organize browser sessions as they research "whatever". Since this is a Chrome extension, would love it even more if it could "know" the Chrome account so that it would connect saved sessions across all PCs with which a user connects, instead of strictly "one data set for each and every PC". I need that link-up for Session Manager "Saves" between my PCs. Perhaps a "Premium Service ($)" for those of us who need this connectivity? Think "$5 from >50,000 supporters" Such a feature would widen the user base. Thank you!

Thank you, this is my favorite session manager extension. The only feature that I'm missing is "Open session" text field with autocompletion , so I could use it with keyboard only (I'm using a mouse rarely).

expected it to work as the Firefox add on does, in particular, auto-save. it does not. you must manually save your sessions. not helpful for my working style.

i didn't liked the user interface, but only bcoz it supports synchronization i'll recommend this.

Been using this for quite a while now, and really like it. Most of the other session managers always open a new window when switching to a different set, whereas Session Manager does the right thing: letting the user control this behaviour. If Session Manager was able to save sessions to a centralized storage, it would be a real winner.

I seldom review things but Session Manager has been so awesome I feel obligated to give them a shout out. Doing market research for a client and had to keep dozens and dozens of tabs. Then the client asked for the list and I saw that little import/export and voila. I have the full list in excel in under 2 minutes. Awesome. Mission accomplished without even breaking a sweat. Thanks Session Manager!

Brilliant, does exactly what I need. I use it daily to restore my per-project tabs for accessing project related documentations, API refs, etc.

Exactly what I was looking for! This was one feature I loved on Opera and really missed until I found this.

This isn't the Firefox Session Manager at all. It completely failed to save or restore a 75+ tab session when my PC crashed. Fortunately 'The Great Suspender' saved and recovered most of them. There are no saved sessions like in the FF version. Poor port.
