Upgraded to pro to download videos with audio but it doesn't download. Progress stays stuck at 100%

Subscribed to their Pro plan and fortunately, it works! Downloads private embedded Vimeo videos with sound. Pretty stoked.

Garbage! The the video doesn't come with audio! The extension forces users to download the audio and video separately unless you pay. I've had this extension for a very long time and this was not the case back in the days! They took removed a feature that already existed for the free version! I'd be OK be they added new feature and put that behind a paywall. But to remove existing feature and put them under the paywall is bad practice.

The audio download is not working for me. VLC does play it but there's no sound.

I used it for one month and that was great. Unfortunately, after the month of usage the tool does require payment to download combined video and audio. Still, you able to download them separately.

I have been using this software for some time, and the experience is very good. It is convenient to download audio and video. Value for money. It can be recommended to everyone to experience.

Doesn't work, asks for payment

All the 5 star reviewers are spam. Used to be free and great, developer got greedy. thumbs down for allen's "hard work"

This extensions is so easy to use! It is very feature-rich and allows me to do my work easily, and it is very convenient to use. Even though it costs some money, I don't hesitate to support it. I think it's a worthwhile investment because it saves me time and effort and makes my job more efficient. I will continue to use it and highly recommend it to my friends.

Paid version doesn't work.

Doesn't work even though I paid for premium? I'm logged into vimeo, got the extension installed, paid for premium, choose 1080p and it takes me to the vimeomate.com page. All it says is "Processing data, please wait a minute" but nothing ever happens.

It used to be amazing. First they separated audio and video on the free version, now even HD downloads are paywalled. No thank you. The response below says we can still download in HD but have to download the audio and video separately. That is misleading. The "HD" is now limited to 540p rather than 1080p. I just tested this on multiple videos. Sure 540p is higher than standard definition, but when people say HD, they're thinking of 1080p or at the LEAST 720p.

Used to be a very good extension. No longer using since they added a paywall to downloading combined audio and video. If you want to make money mr developer, perhaps make an app that doesn't exploit the content of another website.

Extension was recently updated and features that were previously free are now locked behind a paywall. You used to be able to download a video + audio as a single file. With the new update, the free version will download either video or audio only as separate files, with you having to mix these files yourself afterwards. To unlock the previously free features, it will be 36USD/year.

I found this plug-in by accident. After using it for a while, it feels very good. The operation is very simple, and the download speed is also very fast. It is a very good tool.

It's a paywall. The extension works, but you have to download the video & sound separate or pay them for premium (which I can't even check if that works, a trial might HELP). Keep in mind: This used to work perfect, then they updated it to force you to pay (the no sound thing is on purpose)

Although this Vimeo downloader extension comes at a cost, I have to say that it's worth every penny. The feature set is truly exceptional, and it's clear that the developers have put a lot of thought and effort into making this extension as powerful and versatile as possible.

Used to be good, until the last update. They made it so that you can't download any HD videos without paying $3 USD per month. Uninstalling. I suggest you look for a different extension.

Since the last Feb 8 update it's not worth bothering, Vim hls streaming is not easy to handle. External ffmpeg tool was good. If your video link is like: https://player.vi*eo.com/video/12345678 and can be played in a regular chrome window then it's easy. As crazy as it may sound, there is already an established program that does other type of video downloads, I just never thought to try with a Vim link... once you paste the link, It's automatically downloading the video and audio parts and also put them together in one file. All disappointed people here should try this, it's free for one video at a time. Should I tell you what it is? It's starting with 4K... have you figured out now?

Product used to work flawlessly for me, but the recent update that requires a $3/month subscription paid via credit card seems expensive for an extension and I also don't want to share my credit card for an ongoing subscription. I don't mind paying SOMETHING for this, but would prefer an annual plan, with payment available through Paypal. Something like $9.99 or $12.99 seems reasonable to me.

Author updated the extension for monthly subscription payware. Extension was excellent over the years, time to delete and move on.

It worked great until the author uploaded an update just now that blocks its best feature—generating an ffmpeg command—unless one pays an exorbitant (and pesky) monthly subscription fee. (Suggestion to author: implement a pay-as-you-go plan instead, maybe something like a penny a download; people hate monthlies like this. They're irritating.) FWIW, I was able to easily download Vimeo videos manually for free by following the steps found here: https://www.videoproc.com/download-record-video/download-private-vimeo-videos.htm Note that in my particular case—YMMV—I was able to get to a downloadable video by selecting, copying and pasting the URL from the <head><link rel="canonical" href="[url here]"> element in the right-hand pane after clicking to select the child node under the video folder in the left-hand pane. So those instructions aren't exactly correct, at least for the videos I was working on just now. I must confess I'm a programmer, so I don't mind the extra overhead associated with all of this. In fact, I kind of get a kick out of it. But you may feel otherwise, especially if the author makes a good move and switches to something like a penny a video. That may be worth it to you to ditch all the techno-babble cruft.

Not working....Just an icon is showing and else....previously was working fine.

It is very easy to use and it gives so many options to download in any resolutions like 1080 720 or so on and one feature i liked the most is it gives options to download only captions and audio as well.

I tried in vain to use a lot of video downloaders in order to download (with audio) an embedded private Vimeo video presentation - no way with any of them (Video Downloader Plus, Video Downloader Professional and many others). Simple Downloader for Vimeo was the only one that helped me to make the deal ! I will give it the maximum 5 stars, but it deserve 10 stars ! Congratulations for the authors ! My best wishes !

Like other downloaders I've tried, only permits 360p download quality, even if the source video is 1080p or higher

Doesn't work. "Try playing the video first or refresh the web." Looks like there's a mix of "low quality" reviews in here as well. Maybe it works for some, but not all.

This does not work. I didn't initially see anything happening, and at some point I happened to see the tiny little buttons appear on the video - not clear at all. I clicked on them and I got to a screen with what looked like a bunch of complicated instructions that included some technical steps and to download and install other apps.

Seems to be working again! I just downloaded a 5 hour video which was from a streamed event with no problems. If you've been banging your head against a wall trying to make VLC record a stream for you and not getting audio with your recording, give this a try IF Vimeo is the source of the stream.

It may have worked in the past but when I tried it today it generated a page with ffmpeg command, no problem here. But when I ran it, it didn't download the whole video, only the first few seconds after which I started receiving errors like: Failed to open segment 826 of playlist 2.

Update: Works great again! Suddenly stopped working. I used it for more than year downloading embedded videos from private resource, it worked fine! Currently clicking on plugin button shows "Vimeo video found" but no injection occurs, i.e. no downloader overlay over the video frame.

Wow! this just worked? one click and it downloaded even private videos (with password).

Worked when many others wouldn't. I tried the top downloaders that have millions of uses and none could work out the download. I used this and it worked fantastically.

Amazing extension! Not for the faint-hearted! :) Only for those who know what they're doing, but it works like a charm, even for private videos.

After all the BS and other extensions being unable to do the very function they were designed for. This just works, both for embedded videos and traditional ones. All of 2 or 3 clicks and done. I am flummoxed this worked so well, I had to leave a review.

Good extension, would be even better UX if you had the download button inside the Chrome extension button instead of just the video.

I used this extension very frequently over a year now, but it stopped working since Dec 2021, that it will always show "Processing..." on embedded Vimeo videos on the website I need to download from. It worked on the same website before. I remember it stopped working since it started to ask for access, and it still doesn't work after granting acess. Wonder when will the issue be fixed?
