It doesn't work on me. Double clicking on a page highlights a text even if my mouse pointer is far from the body of text. Not a fan of triple clicking. Double right clicking only opens a pop up box -- the one that normally pops up when you right click on an empty space. I made sure the extension is enabled, I made sure the settings are all in the right places, and nothing. This is why I like Torch browser better (just bec of this feature) than Chrome.

Double Click closes tabs just fine. Right Double Click - not so much. Shift Double Click had issues reopening tabs, it seemed to work about 2/3 of the time which isn't enough to be useful to me.
Unfortunately, this add-on does not work as expected.

It causes a problem. After installing, a single click on a url caused several duplicates of the url (sometimes as many as 10) to open all at once. I would avoid adding this extension until that glitch is fixed.
Never works for me
It works on Ubuntu 14.04.
Double-clicking worked once, then it does nothing. I re-installed and the same thing happened. It worked once and never again. It does add a nice big red X to the toolbar that always works. That big red X gets 2 stars.
It seems to work well and I love what it does, but is it necessary to ask for permission to read and change all the data on the websites you visit?

on first look this extension is perfect. it only does what is needed, no fuss. up until the part where it doesn't work on tabs, but on page - worst joke ever. double and triple clicks are actually used on pages to select text in a very useful way, and this extension, instead of being made properly to double click the tab, expects us to give up another functionality for it. plain stupid. hope it gets fixed.

Can you add additional click action for clicking "on the tab"? I am so used to clicking on tab to close, and I find it more convenient rather than clicking inside the page. thanks

Never even worked. I can only use the big X button they put in the search bar of my browser to close tabs, and not even that I need to double-click. I changed settings restarted my browser with no results... 100% useless.

Excellent extension. Just what I was looking for. (I previously used my programmed Logitech mouse, now lost, to close out of tabs by clicking middle scroll button.) Unfortunately, I can't close the "Apps" tab. Must do it from browser bar "X."

Love this extension, very fast closing my pages! Hey guys, read the instruction: Double left/right or triple left clicks on WEBPAGE (not tab) to close tab. ;) Clicking on Webpage ist faster than clicking on tab
This needs double click tab/tab bar to open and close tabs. Last tab closing still closes the browser and then opens a new tab, very annoying. You cant use this on things like the extension page, still have to manually close a tab. Please work on this extension, it could be very good. Chrome Toolbox does all of this and more much better, unfortunately they seem to have removed that from the store.
Not bad. Issue with the option to prevent Chrome from closing when last tab is closed. Chrome still closes, but quickly opens up in a new tab. In a non maximized screen (as I closed it in), and it jumps Chrome to the right.

Yup, i can confirm that this only works once and thereafter you are on your own.. Skip this but if you have the time to waste, fire away.. What a disappointment.

It works! DO THIS: Double click in the webpage and that tab will close. Don't click on the tab itself. Click in a blank area in the page.

Never worked on any of the Ubuntus, Win7 (64 bit). I7, 8gb DDR3, 1.5gb HDD. Same again, months later (refuses to work), but Zorin, 16gb Ram, Win8, SSD, terabyte Hdd, etc. Desperately want something like this to work, as in Firefox, Maxthon, Opera.

Double right click to close is good but the page will randomly close when I single right click to bring up the context menu. Please fix.

With the triple click to close tab option, this extension does exactly what I need it to do.
Users: Please note that the add-on ONLY works as double-click anywhere on a page NOT on the tab.. It does work like a charm. I like to set it as triple-click to close a tab because I use double-click to select contents.
Agreed. Useless and even looks like a prank :) This should be at least called "Double Click A PAGE Closes Tab" to not misinform the user. I bet 99% of plugin "visitors" expected "double click A TAB..." feature :)
Fantastic extension, Found that triple click was best set at 400 milliseconds. So I can still triple click and not close unless I mean it :-) A blacklist of web sites not to close would be great. You need to highlight shift triple click as an "undo close tab" feature as its great.

This is Great! Double click any where on a page to close it, simples ;-) Obviously not on a word or special Google pages like this one. Got to be the easiest way to close a tab.

Should have option to exclude pinned tabs. Should also have a list of sites (regex) to not run on. Eg Google Music or any site where UI has you double click.
I think it will be excellent if there is option to choose double click right mouse button instead of left.
