From December 14th, 2019 to April 7th, 2023, 44% user give 5-star rating, 23% user give 4-star rating, 16% user give 3-star rating, 6% user give 2-star rating, 10% user give 1-star rating. for Trim: IMDB Ratings on Netflix and Prime Video chrome extension.
it confuses content with same titles, for example the show black mirror has a rating of 8.8/10 but instead of that it shows the rating of another show with the same title which has a rating of 6.5/10
Not working for me.
Doesn't work
The idea of an extension that attaches multiple ratings to movie/series thumbnails is amazing. But what good is such an idea when it randomly stops working or shows incorrect ratings. I have tried restarting chrome but the ratings are not showing up. Even when they actually show, I have encountered multiple instances where the they were not accurate.
dont work for me
Not working for me.
Stopped working
Edit: Works!
RATING ALWAys refer old movie with same name
It used to work as a charm but now I can't see content being filtered out. On top of that I noticed a wrong IMDB entry (House of cards linked to a movie on IDMB; "Mikado"). It would also be interesting to add more features like sorting content according to ratings
Works decently well so far. A few suggestions to make it even better: – to protect against false association between e.g Netflix id and IMDb id, show the IMDb-provided title on the details page, and/or on hover – let users fix the association if it is wrong, e.g. by having them provide the correct IMDb id or URL – such fixes could be optionally shared with goodmovies.io and through that with other users – if a movie can't be found on IMDb, don't just hide the ratings symbol, but show it with a question mark inside, linking to IMDb search using the title The same of course applies to other combinations like Amazon Video and Metacritic.
Works perfectly on Netflix & Amazon Prime
.DUB
Doesn't work anymore. Edit: fixed for Netflix, not for amazon prime :)
Not working.
Doesn't work
I'm frequently using this extension for Netflix. It was working great until about a month ago. There was always a small chance that it would show the rating of a different movie with the same title, but now it's showing the wrong rating for many movies (~50% is off). I already verified (using Chrome DevTools) that my browser has no problems accessing goodmovies.io. It seems to be the matching algorithm that is off. I had hoped there would be an update to fix this issue, but it hasn't happened yet.
Displayed IMDb ratings on Netflix are often for a different movie. Going to the IMDb website and typing in the complete title brings up the real rating. I must assume this app only uses a few of the title words when accessing ratings which leeds to errors with simalar titles.
Please please please - Add an option to not see the greyed out ones at all, to simply hide whatever was filtered and what was marked as "not interested". Especially on netflix - i still have to scroll horizontally to see if there are any valid titles even if the ones already displayed are all greyed out. It would be PERFECT if the ones that are filtered out just disappear so I'm only left with things i want to see.
It was great. But as of today, it's not working anymore. I tried everything but the problem persists.
Was great when it worked. Sadly not working anymore on Netflix. Tried switching on/off, deactivating ad blocker etc. Still nothing :(
not working anymore...tried uninstalling and installing again but to no avail
November 2022. It's working! Thank you!
does not work on hbo max, also filtering does not work for me on prime video
Appears to work really well at first but then quickly realized it was straight up showing the score for the wrong shows a lot of the time. Clicking on the number to go to the imdb/RT page leads to something with a similar title or something unrelated altogether.
It is AWESOME! The idea is brilliant, the plugin it self is great, so I can't live without it! I would happily pay a few bucks per year to have it. But it has some glitches: for example filtering isn't working at all on Disneyplu. Filtering was kind of shaky on Netflix (when I was using Netflix, half a year ago, I don't know now...). Sometimes, is very slow or for no apparent reason it doesn't display the Rating when I'm in the Movie page at all, while it was showing it a second a go on the Movies list. Or it takes half a minute to show me the ratings on the Movies list. Maybe IMDB isn't responding fast enough, but what about caching? Overall, this project is AMAZING and I hope these glitches get solved and the developer can make a decent sum from this great app!
ok
Extension makes Browse by Language unusable if you don't set "only show ratings when hovering". Otherwise it would be a five star.
Great idea - shows the IMDB ratings, but can't get thr filtering work (Chrome or Edge) - all films are shown, no-greying out.
It was a very good extension at the beginning but currently it's not working. I couldn't figure out why.
Great extension. Works like a charm.
Discovery+? Please :-)
Great extension. At the moment, metacritic seems to be resolving to the wrong movies. (Example: 'A Call to Spy' on Netflix goes instead to 'A Score to Settle')
excellent perfectly working and others dosent thats the only reason for me to give 5 starts but on the other hand some if the IMDB disney+ ratings dont exist on some of the movies consider fixing that to make this a better experience. Thank you
Finally a review extension that actually works on netflix!
Trim is now also available on Safari, Firefox and Microsoft Edge. Check it out: https://apps.apple.com/dk/app/trim-show-movie-ratings/id1630936558?mt=12 https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/trim-imdb-ratings-on-netflix/ https://microsoftedge.microsoft.com/addons/detail/trim-imdb-ratings-on-net/bmcgboiedlofagaalifmclnbgnpepcaa
This is great, but I wish it also worked on hulu and hbo
Threw me for a loop as it doesnt immediately show ratings, it has to pull and rewrite the page. I kept thinking it was broken. Also when you scroll to new movies it takes a bit to load the ratings. Nevertheless, it does show all four ratings and that is really important to me.
not working anymore, dose not show the rating
Not working anymore. Shows nothing right now
Love the idea, but there is a gamebreaking bug where the extension often associates shows withj the wrong entry - so I'll see a 4.5 rating, but if you go to IMDB and look for yourself, it's actually a 7.6. That's pretty awful because it makes it hard to take any rating series when this is an ongoing issue. Disney+ it happens all over the place.
Great extension, however doesn't seem to be working for me or my friends at the moment (whatsoever). We're based in the UK if that helps bug fix. Hopefully it's working again soon! Edit: It is fixed.
Works great on Netflix! On Hulu and Prime, it doesn't appear to work.
Really useful but often wrong, confusing the ratings of many films. Not reliable
Handy extension. Great help for choosing a movie to see. It is working fine on either Mac or PC.
I like it and I use it a lot in Netflix. Unfortunately in Amazon prime it greys out everything in the main page and I can't find the options anywhere to disable it. It seems that I need to disable the whole add-on and work only when I press it. Other improvement: - When rating is not available, don't grey out the film/series. - In "My stuff" tab in Amazon, it doesn't apply the filters to grey out those with low rating. I would apply that logic to Netflix --> Logic: If I have added already something in my list, then I want to watch it regardless of the rating. Proposal for future feature: Hide already rated films. --> Logic: If I have rated a film, then I have seen it. So I don't want to see it in the list.
Works, please add Letterboxd score if possible
Best extension ever
Good app, would be good if it didn't count lack of data as zeroes in the filter though. For example filter set to imdb: 6, RT: 60%, movie X has imdb: 9.1 but no RT data - gets filtered out. Would be nice if there was a toggle for counting missing data as max rating or bottom rating. It would also be nice to toggle "and/or" for all filter conditions. Current behaviour I would describe as "and", since it requires all conditions to be met. The "or" state would allow you to find hidden gems based on high ratings on single platforms. While noisier it would be nice to have the option.
Works well. would be good to show "out of" number when you open the info panel, like 22/100 Meta or 5.5/10 for imbd. It could be nice if you can have the circles in just white shadowed text PLEASE add the bible of ratings https://www.rogerebert.com/ !
Works well for Netflix. For some reason, even though it says it works for Hulu, it doesn't seem to. I've confirmed the URL regex is what it expects it to be, but no matter where I am on the site, I don't see any ratings.
It does not work in Amazon Prime Video since Prime video website works on amazon.com domain not primevideo.com.
Used until they change their permissions to send Notifications and then read their privacy declaration to see they record user activity. No thanks. There are other addons which don't scrape your data.
not working now
Works good but sometimes there are mistakes in rankings - I would suggest adding a feature "report a mistake"
Very good, works flawlessly! Also adds Rotten Tomatoes ratings.
Really good extension to find high rated shows on Netflix, but some of the scores are just blatantly wrong, which sort of defeats the whole point of the extension.
Great extension, wouldn't want to browse Netflix without something to help filter like this. After trying out many other extensions I can happily say this is the best one I've found.
EDIT:This has been fixed as on Jul 17 2021. Very Neat Extension :D. Gives more than what i was looking for. Only writing a 1 star review since don't know where else to post issue. No ratings are coming up since last few days. Inspect window says CORS ( No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header is present on the requested resource.) for all the failing requests.
Works less than half the time or about half the time. Currently hasn't worked at all for a week or so.
I deleted my old review and was going to leave a lower-rated review as it didn't seem to be working. But what fixed it was clicking the netflix icon to reload the site and then the IMDB/RT reviews started showing up.
This is simply PERFECT!! Huge time saver
Good idea but really not reliable. Used it for a few months but found that the scores are often incorrect. Ended up wasting a bunch time watching movies that were given wrong IMDb scores. Sorry. I think there are better options. Just manually check IMDb yourself. I started using the Best Movies on Netflix extension. Found it to be more reliable and easier to use.
Great extension! But 20-30% of the ratings are missing, even for popular content. E.g. no rating for Breaking Bad.
I love where it places the ratings on Netflix and how simple it was. I also verify it only has access to a few streaming platforms I use.
Great extension, wouldn't want to browse netflix without something to help filter like this. The only feature I wish were added would be for the language of the audio track, or at least the primary language which should be listed on IMDB. I can't have a subtitled movie on as background entertainment, it's only for when a movie has my full attention and it'd be nice to be able to at least view that information. Even lacking that, great extension, 5 stars.
Hi, this extension looks great. Could you add a slider to fade items out by RT critic score? There's one for RT audience score, I'm not sure why there isn't one for critic score. If you added this, I would rate 5 stars.
It's great to have the IMDb ratings, since Netflix has a lot of garbage there. It makes it easier to filter out all that trash.
Wonderful app, thank you!
I have checked lots of extensions but this is the best by all means
Good extension, but ruined by a bug that prevent scrolling of opened Netflix cards (when clicking the down array of a movie/tv-show). Which makes the website unusable.
Some titles on imdb direct to wrong Netflix pages. For example, https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0480255/ directs to https://www.netflix.com/title/80198306 which is not related at all.
Does what is advertised in an user friendly way and quickly allows you to quickly find quality contetnt to to watch. Some times there has been issues whenever Netfix does updates but those have been resolved in a matter of days.
I made a script to colorize the ratings. You just need to go to the Inspect element window, and paste the code below within the ```tags into the Console. You can also custom colors in the array. I'm colorizing in red below 6, and best green above 9.25. You may want to make longer gradient :P Enjoy <3 ``` function setColor(el) { const colors = [ "#8C0000", // 0 "#8C0000", // 5 "#8C0000", // 1.0 "#8C0000", // 1.5 "#8C0000", // 2.0 "#8C0000", // 2.5 "#8C0000", // 3.0 "#8C0000", // 3.5 "#8C0000", // 4.0 "#8C0000", // 4.5 "#8C0000", // 5.0 "#8C0000", // 5.5 "#8C0000", // 6.0 "#8B2600", // 6.5 "#863D00", // 7.0 "#7D5000", // 7.5 "#6F6100", // 8.0 "#5C7100", // 8.5 "#427F00", // 9.0 "#008C00", // 9.5 "#008C00" // 100 ] if (el >= 0 && el <= 20) { return colors[el]; } else { return "#FFFFEE"; } } (function setColors() { const ratings_imdb = document.getElementsByClassName("imdb-score"); for (i = 0; i < ratings_imdb.length; i++) { const rv = Math.round(parseInt(ratings_imdb[i].innerText, 10) * 2); //rating_value ratings_imdb[i].style.backgroundColor = setColor(rv); ratings_imdb[i].style.fontWeight = "bold"; } const ratings_rt = document.getElementsByClassName("tomato-audience-score"); for (i = 0; i < ratings_rt.length; i++) { const rv = Math.round(parseInt(ratings_rt[i].innerText, 10) / 5); ratings_rt[i].style.backgroundColor = setColor(rv); ratings_rt[i].style.color = "#000000"; ratings_rt[i].style.fontWeight = "bold"; } })() ```
Great extension.
The best option. After trying out many other extensions I can happily say this is the best one I've found. Tip: There's also a Tampermonkey script out there that can hide Netflix items that you downvoted. It works well with this app.
Wonderful add-on but seems to have stopped working in the last day or so...? Any recommendations? Many thanks. *Edit: Thank you so much, it's working again. Changed my stars to 5/5
I love the extension. Has been using it for over a year now. but it just stopped working few days ago. PLEASE FIX !!
It was working perfectly until 25th November 2020. Now I can't get it to work.
It's nice to see the rating of a piece of content on netflix before watching it as Netflix have decided to remove that feature, however Rotten Tomatoes is a trash service so if you can remove that this will be better
There is an issue with "Episodes & Info" when extension is enabled. This happens with some shows. It happens to me when I open the "Episodes & Info" for the spongebob series. When I open it and leave it open for a while, it automatically closes and opens again, but with only episode 1 and can't scroll down. I tested it with the extension disabled, and this problem did not happen. I have tested version 5.10 of the extension and don't get this issue. Here is a link to the video of what happens: https://streamable.com/m0o4qr
I'm sorry to say I removed this. It would be fantastic if it worked, but it points to more wrong IMDB ratings than correct ones.
This is epic. beautiful. pure gold. where have you been my entire life.
RT ratings aren't working properly - many Fresh films are showing rotten
1. Rotten tomatoes score is wrong for almost every movie. Showing The Dark Knight, Interstellar, Green mile, Sprinted away as rotten for example. 2. IMDB ratings take days to update and is a big issue for new movies. Ex- Enola Holmes was shown 8+ rated but it was 6.7 and took a few day to update. but I still like the extension for overall IMDB ratings
life saver, amazing
Hey, thanks so much for your work. Would you add the year to .rating-row?
Works on chrome with no issues for me so far. I wish I had the ability to disable those yellow circle ratings on the thumbnails.
Does this work? Why is the original Jurassic Park showing as a "splat" on Netflix?
Very intuitive user interface and powerful feature to see IMDB ratings. If possible provide an option to show the rating at bottom right instead of top right corner.
Only one that works so 5/5- new or esoteric titles may have the wrong rating and be linked to the wrong IMDB title- but the RT ratings are slightly more reliable. I suggest you disable 'read/write' on Douban.com in this new update unless you watch a lot of Chinese cinema?? ... On Netflix? As with any extension, take control of which sites it can read and when it can.
This plugin is the bees knees (I love it). However, today it asked for permissions to change data on all douban.com, imdb.com and rotentomatoes.com sites (after I already had previously given permissions). Why is this? What is it changing on those sites?
It makes mistakes. But who doesn't... Almost any extension I tried had stopped working every time Netflix tweaks the interface. I really like this one. I don't see any alternatives. How do I support it? I think s bit of support from the community would be nice. Is there a place for support ?
I would suggest adding a new option to fade out the rated titles, so I can skip all my watched items easily.
Make a lot of mistakes, as it was pointed out previously (and still not addressed) movie "Eli" IMDB show rating of "The Spy" (??? seriously) and "Death Note" shows IMDB rating of another movie with the same name. RT ratings seems to be better matched. Also as it was noted the side bar is just nonsense, why not to move it to some lett "in your face" place like top bar. You really need only one button to hide low rating movies (if need it at all, I need only ratings). Move to drop down addon menu for example. Also adding Metacritic rating would be super nice, other addon does it already. Thank you for this great addon, it's good and helps a lot but not perfect. Hope you will improve functionality soon because Netflix is too arrogant to lift a finger to help own subscribers.
I've only been trying this for 10 minutes but Wow! This might be the nicest plugin I've ever used in chrome. I have tried other IMDB Netflix plugins before, but this one is a keeper.
Love it! Now I just wish I could find a way to have this work on Netflix on my Nvidia Shield. That's where I watch the bulk of Netflix, and it is super annoying not having this feature on that platform.
Works flawlessly I love this extension i love you goodmoviesapps dev
Good addon but the side bar ruins it, making the netflix page more cluttered than it already was. Put that stuff away in the extension option menu like every other normal extension!
Great idea. Too bad it doesn't give you the actual ratings. It gives you a rating for a show with that name. So remakes are marked as if they were the original. Needs to check the year to ensure that it is the correct show.
This plug in is a must! So much noise on Netflix it's really hard to filter it. Netflix used to have ratings but now they don't show them anymore.
Works well, don't like the new sidebar thing thats been added its very large and not that nice to look at. Why not be like EVERY other chrome extension and have a popup box when you click the extension icon?
nice extension, too bad it doesn't show the number of votes on the imdb score as the number of voters matters alot.
love the filtering feature!
IMDB accurate but rotten tomatoes not accurate, RT links to wrong listings.
Thank you. Awesome Job Guys
Unlike some other IMDB extensions for Netflix, this one actually tracks the correct number.
I wish that when clicking the title when filtering it opens the title page instead of straight to watch. instead of https://www.netflix.com/watch/***** it goes to https://www.netflix.com/tilte/*****
Finally an extension that works and doesn't require navigation history permissions.
Working OK Netflix on Chrome but not displaying ratings on Chredge. Be nice if it did.
Ratings are not accurate. Probably does a simple query search so if multiple movies have the same title, it randomly picks the rating from the list.
nice
Great extension! I'm wondering when hulu will be added and what about amazon?
Thanks for the extension man.
So far loved it. Not any issue. Thanks.
So far loved it. not any issue. Thanks.
Works perfectly for me and truly saves a huge hassle. Rottentomato does not show rating but I was only after IMDB. Perfect, thank you developers.
