Great extension really speeds thing up a lot. Like that you can chews which folder to save to (not just downloads). Has many other great features as well.

Mostly works on every websites and easily to use web base app works flawlessly but system base still need some errors to fixed and mention more details on installation instruction.

Very satisfied with it. Downloading and converting large files is a nightmare and hit and miss - sometimes the picture and the audio is out of sync or just straight a broken file that can't be played. However it's a champion with short videos (less than 10 min). All in all, I think it's a wonderful little tool. I'd recommend.

I don't Know whe i ever install chrome or Edge with out having DH Install, It's the best thing ever created on the web since Video started.

I use VideoDownload from some years now and it is the best downloader I discovered thanks to the two different download procedures it offers. When the browser can't interact with the kind of video file you always have the possibility to use FireShot. It is quick and secure. I only hope that in the future more browsers would become compatible like Opera one of my preferred browser on the market.

99% of the time it doesn't even download the whole thing and since I will not pay for something that does work 99% of the time I can only try every 2 hours. It will see the size of the file and the length but just stops with sometimes only 5% of the whole thing. Cannot recommend.

march 2023: Tried it again and it is even worse then it was a couple years ago. There is now a file size or duration limit. Attempting to download ANY vid that is longer then an hour and 45 minutes always fails. This is despite having 15 GB of free ram and doing nothing else! _______________________________________________________________ This extension is now completely useless except for a rare occasional downloads. It now locks you out of downloading for 3-4 hours after a "completed" download whether or not the download was properly completed. It appears to corrupt downloads at random. Hopefully this was not intentional to convince people to "buy" it. DO NOT use this unless you plan to "buy" it and I still cannot recommend that as the dev appears to be using dirty tactics (corrupted downloads+ longer then 3 hour lockouts for EVERY file downloaded) to get people to buy.

This used to just work. Now it won't do anything except bug you to install a "companion" app. this the kind of behavior that leads to people getting hacked. There was no need for this unless to spy/steal/hack your data. Beware.

works great if you dont mind installing its companion on your programs folder: this monster absolut app "fishes" or "captures" media hidden in HLS etc before it even start to play. There are very few instances it wouldnd work, then I bring the artillery: jDownloader. But this one is most practical for everyday use

Does not operate as described. Doesn't allow downloads of videos with installing a local, native application. Completely unnecessary, I think this is malware.

I only wish I could download videos that have non-alphanumeric characters in the title, as I've had trouble downloading some things with weird naming conventions, but other than that it's an awesome extension that I'm very grateful for.

The extension requires installing a separate application to actually save HLS videos. That separate application charges to remove watermarks or access higher qualities. There are other extensions that can save HLS videos within the browser, for free.

Best video app around! One click and the video is downloading. Love this! Was going to donate, but just smarter to upgrade to platinum instead. Totally worth the money!

ITS VERY FAST NO COMPLICATIONS, A VERY HAPPY USER HERE

I tried to use this to download multiple videos but after just one download it said I had to wait 2 hours until I could download any other videos?! I can't be sure if it was an isolated event because I was impatient and wanted to use this specific extension after trying it in Firefox. Honestly if it keeps doing this I would just stick with the Firefox version, there's no download limits on that version.

It says I need to install a Companion App, or something, even after I installed it....

After trying several troublesome aps to download videos I found this one, which I love. It easily downloads most videos except YouTube, but I use something else for those. I do find it odd that they often give me the option to download a graphic file. Nevertheless, I do like this software!

Amazing app that exceeds 2 paid apps I own! I've paid for both Wondershare and Applian's Video Catcher, and this works better!

I love this downloader because it works well on most of the sites I go to. Every so often I need a backup downloader but not very often. Keep up the great work!

Video downloadhelper has proven to be reliable when it comes to downloading videos in a simple and speedy manner.

Extension requires an additional app to be downloaded to use, which immediately reads as scammy and suspicious. Didn't download it, but seems from other reviews here that its just a virus waiting to happen. Don't bother with this one.

Can not use, they're always error "companion app required" then force you installing their .exe with tons of malwares and ads. All downloads and good comments are spams from their comapny, don't be fool

For most sites it just says "companion app required" and the companion app doesn't do anything, most likely just a virus

Very good plugin for downloading the videos. User friendly

From someone who has, literally, "used them ALL", i can say this one works on more sites than ALL of the other movie download extensiones combined. Lately, the other ones don't work on most of the movie sites because all of the streamers changed their servers and all the extensions have become "outdated" compare to thise one. Yes, it takes a little getting use to and it requires a little more attention but it DOES work. After a few months, the audio tracking might get off-sync, just uninstall the extension and the main file (you gotta pay for it) and reinstall and that will fix the issues. Most extension tend to work on Youtube and the other "smaller" websites. I've tested this thing on a TON of different places and it works. There's no "batch" mode i'm sorry to say but you gotta appreciate what you've got to work with (that actually "works") and this is IT. And when i say "used them all" we all know i'm talking about those sites that reside a little off the main road of media viewing where the better stuff is ;) This thing handles the higher resolutions and sound qualities. There are very FEW really good, working extensions and this one is at the top of my list and believe me when i tell you, i've bought several with "pro" versions and most of them SUCK. This one doesn't.

Does not work with Bilibili at all. Downloads a random file unrecognized by any applications and far too small to be a video.

100% worthless. It detects the videos just fine, then when you try saving using ANY method available, you'll get this message: "Companion application required⊗ This operation requires an external application to be completed." It's been stated in other reviews that installing a separate program 'isn't a requirement'. Well I can confirm for any videos I've tried to download, it stops you from doing so and states IT IS A REQUIREMENT. I regret wasting my time trying this... don't waste yours.

It really is the best downloader out there. No it doesn't download Youtube and not all sites but the ones that matter to me it does. Highly recommended and I will be donating shortly

Extremely useful tool to download music and videos. There was a situation where there was a website closing down and I was at risk of losing all the videos I purchase, but thanks to this app I was able to save my collection of videos. Definitely would recommend.

One aspect that is a bit negative asking for video download that is,aking for contributiom or they are forcing to download another program to proceded for download a video ,and when you do download the other program they require ,that is when it show all ther charges .

This used to be the best video-saving app out there. Now, it's almost completely worthless. One-click functionality has turned into "Reload page to use extension" on every single page, with zero results coming up 90% of the time. The other 10% just gives you the "HLS Streaming" download option, which slows and freezes and never completes. I have never, in the many years I've had this extension, ever been able to successfully download a video through the "HLS Streaming" option. This app has gone way downhill. It's practically useless.

I've been looking for chrome extension downloader and thankfully, I found this. This is perfect. I can download videos anywhere. EDIT: I've been using this for years already. This is highly recommended.

It used to be good but turned into a POS. Now it won't even download videos - it'll just pause for 10 -30 seconds, say the video is "ready", then play it on your desktop with no save option. I've had to switch to other apps which work far more reliably.

The app has always been great, but as of today for me, its broken. I know Google has been pushing some new tech into both YouTube and Chrome, and unfortunately, it seems to have trickled down into every single browser that is made on the chrome engine, and is regularly updated. I can confirm that the plugin is no longer working on Chrome, Vivaldi, and Opera. I hope this is something that can be fixed, or is simply a very bad update that we all got hit with. Hopefully they see all the comments and realize its broken and fix it fast. For now, use Firefox and its version of the plugin, it is still fully functional. This is why we need different browsers built on different engines. Thankfully, Firefox is not on the Chromium engine and isn't affected by this.

Stop working today on Chrome. Please fix!

not working as of 10/12/22 PLEASE FIX

It's a great app to download videos from any sites regardless of any restriction. But as I have read other reviews today it's not working with Chrome browser, I therefore, request the DEVELOPER to fix this issue asap. We all users will be grateful...
