С завидной периодичностью на разных системах и разных машинах все закладки слетают и их приходится восстанавливать вручную. Бэкапы и синхронизации нормально не работают - дилы появляются, но картинки не восстанавливаются. После очередного такого краша задумываешься, стоил ли опять возиться...

If you think you'll be able to take care of your backups manually, it's a good extension. I like what the extension offers. But when it comes to backing up your dials to the cloud, which means you'll never lose them because you'll not need manual work on it, it's too expensive ($45/year!) and this is why I cut 2 stars. I lost my all dials a few weeks ago while switching to a new notebook because I forgot to take a local backup of my data.

I've used FVD SpeedDial for many years and have loved it. However, I just now opened a new tab and discovered that it had added several new dials, three or four on my main tab and another few more on a new tab that it created itself. After reading some other recent reviews, specifically one about adding an Amazon dial and how it seems to tag on a kind of referral link, I tried to see if I could reproduce this behavior. It definitely adds a tag to the end of the Amazon URL. If it's doing shady things like that, I don't want any part of it. I'm looking for an alternative. After years of use and enjoyment, it took a mere number of minutes to destroy all trust I had. Yesterday I'd have given it four stars. Today, it's one.

STAY THE F@#K AWAY FROM THIS EXTENSION!! This Extension on CHROME has gone from GREAT to a POS. My bad for not creating a backup of my Dials but since it worked so well I forgot to. So Today I decided to create a backup and poof, while my Groups are there, THEY ARE NOW EMPTY... NO DIALS! I tried to restore from a Local backup created in January, but the Restore Process DOES NOT WORK! Idon't know where the local backups reside so I can't try an Import from file. if that would even work. In addition, what used to work well on FireFox doesn't anymore. So what do we have... No version that works on Firefox... A CHROME version tha "disappears dials" with little to no chance to retrieve them and a RESTORE PROCESS that is useless. It looks to me like the devs for this Extension are AWOL and Nimbus is hawking other tools for $'s. I'm going to se if I can find a replacement from a reliable vendor who supports their App. YOU BEEN WARNED!!!

Since the last update the extension has been behaving oddly. The dials I set for auto refresh don't do it automatically until I am on the tab they are on. When it does do it automatically, it leaves it's pop-up window open and its much larger and in a different location than before. Before it always popped up a window in the bottom right of my screen at about 1/8 the size of my 16:9 format screen. Now that pop-up appears on the left side and when left behind its now a whopping 1/4 screen size in a Portrait 9:16 format instead of the normal 1:1 format. Before it quickly loaded the pop-up, captured the window and exited. Now it looks like it is stuck in the loading mode for what seems like forever and when it does capture the screen instead of displaying the screen as witnessed in the pop-up, the dial becomes either a blank or error msg we never saw pop-up. What changed? Anytime I see a glitch on any extension, I check to see if Chrome is up to date. Then I dump my history, cookies and cache and do a reboot. Nope, didn't fix anything.

Really very sad. I've been overly patient in trying to resolve many ongoing issues via email. I have tried to help the developer to figure out the problem with not only this extension, but the EverSync extension as well. I've provided screenshots for errors that are being thrown in the Chrome extensions manager as well from the DevTools console. I'm told that screenshots of the errors don't help. You would have to be able to write code to develop extensions such as these, so you would think it would be pretty easy to look at the errors being thrown and figure it out pretty quickly, But time marches on, and instead of things being fixed they just keep getting worse. I guess you get what you pay for, in my case nothing, but I feel sorry for those that have paid and can't get what they've paid for. Come on man...get it fixed or just pull it. It was a great extension along with EverySync.

All my tabs are gone even after installing Eversync as mentioned on this extension settings, local backups are saved on an unknown location on my pc and server backups are accessible if you pay. Wasted 2 years of tabs just for this sh**y extension.

Used it for years till I tried adding an amazon dial and learned that it silently redirects shopping links like ebay and amazon to "https://nimbus_als.ampxdirect.com/". Like others pointed out, it adds a referral string to the links so they get money when you buy from those sites. Literally one of the definitions of a browser hijacker. I now consider this extension as malware and uninstalled it.

Very good. I used to love it, Been using it for years. EXCEPT It's developed a new glitch in the last few days when every time you try to open a new tab you get invited to do a tour learning how to use it. You can't even get this to disappear by doing the tour, because the tour is non existent. Aggghhhh Now in 2023 speed dial has suddenly decided to delete all my dozens of saved websites. Thanks a bunch. I didn't think to take a screenshot of them all.

It was great, BUT since the last update, it is painfully SLOW and usign a LOT of CPU Not usable like this

I wish I could rate it a 5 but unfortunately it decided to just add a bunch of pages and sites to my speed dial and that's just not cool. I hate this always online world where you can never have anything, like, to keep. Everything is another channel for spam and adverts.

I've loved this extension for years and hate the thought of losing it. But the last week or two the icon thumbnails have broken and the columns/rows setting is different. Going to try re-installing it or finding an older version. It's barely usable like this.

Been using Speed Dial for a few years now, and the amount of customizability it provides the user is actually really fun to play around with. However, out of nowhere, it started getting all janky. The apps side-bar vanished without a trace, and adding dials is extremely slow. I reinstalled the extension and that didn't make a difference; in fact, I'd argue it made it worse. So I tried uninstalling Chrome, but even that didn't seem to work. If there is a solution to this problem, I've gotta know. But this has significantly diminished my user experience, because I do like Speed Dial, but this just ain't it.

So why did the maker not give you an option to set your favourte search engine for the search bar on the FVD main page. They should make it so you can save and store your favourte search engine. Sucks you need to click a tab to open your search engine, having to wait for it you load, then do your search. When they could change it is the settings making it so you can search fron the FVD main page with your search engine. Most other speed dail apps let you change this setting????

It was 5 stars up until a couple days ago. I'm experiencing a bug where the number of columns always reverts back to 6. I keep trying to put it back to 8 columns but everytime I exit Chrome (or just happenes after about 10 minutes) it resets again. Whatever they did messed things up, I saw new tabs for Facebook and Twitter that magically showed up too. Judging from other recent reviews, something it messed up. Please fix this.

Recent update added new links. Looks like the devs sold out for some referral funds. This is dangerous to set this up in a way a user might accidentally visit the site in error. I will likely report to google as I have a feeling they wont be happy with this.

Malware that redirects links to online stores like amazon to a shady search engine and adds a referral link so they can get paid when you shop and track your purchases.

It was fine. Better then the default. Then they started 'editing' my tabs and dials. 'Facebook' suddenly appeared (I do not have a FB account for obvious reasons) a then a tab called 'Shopping and Travel' popped up out of nowhere. This is neither appreciated nor wanted. This happens again, I am uninstalling this extension.

Great extension, BUT privacy nightmare, use at your own risk. According to their privacy statement, they can use and share browsing history and other personal data teoretically with anybody - Third-Party service providers, advertising partners, affiliated entities... I know that everybody use the same practices, but there are no option to personalize this usage of data. The only good think is that they are very open about usage of personal data. Few sections from their current privacy statement: "..we may collect your IP address, information about the operating system or type of device you use, the date and time you access the Websites or Products, and the location of your device." "We may disclose your personal information as needed to our Third-Party service providers and advertising partners" "We may disclose, transfer, and assign your information to our affiliated entities".

I can't believe I've been using this Chrome extension for 8 or so years now. I believe it was 2015 when I first installed it. I cannot imagine having a browser experience without it. I am visually impaired and using a low monitor resolution combined with magnification means that those nice big tiles that this extension provides for my saved sites makes it much easier and quicker for me to go to the pages that I need. It's a truly fantastic "life hack" that I don't think I could live without.

The visual is that of the app icons on your cell phone...but instead, it's the display on your laptop or the monitor on your desk. Very much like this app. Very customizable. Use it every day, all day long.

Love the extension. But it just randomly deleted one of my custom dials for and replaced it with a link to something else?!

It worked flawlessly until the new update, using the hide(the eye button, below the power off button) function now just makes new tabs appear blank white. I used it to make new clean tab without anything but just my own background. Sighh, bring it back please.

I have been using speed dial for a very long time. Still see no reason to change to anything else.

Used to be great. Last few updates have cleared the dials and they won't refresh anymore. Ruined what was once really good.

after the last few updates it's really slow slow / like 10 seconds to open the home group & a minute or so to open any other group / not much fun anymore, might as well switch to 'group speed dial'....

This is good. Probably one of my favorites. It needs a bit more customization features, though. For Example: You know how there's the search box above the amazon dial? EVERY dial should have this ability, but only when you edit the dial and have a seperate search text box where you type in the search URL. That would be a big improvement. I only request this because i used to have the Awesome New Tab Page (ANTP) extension, and that was more fully customizable, but since that doesn't work anymore, why not add that search engine option to the dials of THIS extension? Do you hear me, Nimbus? MAKE IT HAPPEN! :D

Works like a charm with lots of options!

Same problem as others which appeared with the last 2 versions in Brave. The background colour I choose is not retained. More precisely the background colour is only kept behind the dials thumbnails but not for the whole page. The result, two-tone, is just aesthetically ugly.

Wish I could rate this higher. But trying to sinc my dials across to a new computer is horrendous. Eversync is not intuative at all. You'd of expected it to be one button. I'm now left having to do it one by one. surely this is a common thing to do, why is there no guidance??

I love FVD! So sleek and helpful

Have been using for years with no issues but seems (maybe there has been update) broken as I found I could no longer save web page. I deleted and reinstalled yesterday but whilst "save" was fixed, only few icons now appear, only sad spinning face and "oops error getting title" appears on 90% of tiles.

Using the Brave browser and this add on is no longer functioning properly, even after the latest update! I am receiving "Blue Sad Faces" instead of my previous website previews and the background I choose is not being retained either. Please fix this. I have been using this addon for years now and miss its functionality. Thank you and God Bless. :)

I really like this app and it serves as a good home for most of my common web destinations. Two feature requests: (1) the ability to create a list of urls and import that list into a tab. And (2) the ability to have pages with different numbers of dials, and to be able to show them either as images (like now) or as a sortable list (alphanumeric, by date, and reverse orders). But even as is, it's a great little app.

Such promise, but there is no way to prevent the tiles from shifting every time I open a new tab.... Removed it right away...I know I'm just going to get frustrated - seriously, why? Just stop moving my tiles.....

Not reliable enough and causes funky pop ups. I'm going with a Vivaldi tiled view session instead.

After Mozilla updated it lost its charm. moreover it blocks many sites unnecessarily. Now for chrome this FVD doing the best job via speed dial. It is stylish, easy and useful. If it right click on opened tab to make it speed dial, it will become 100% perfect. Anyway it deserves 5 star.

I like the easy picking of pages been using for years.

I like the large symbol short cut emblems you can pick from a usually large assortment of alternative emblems to identify the link very quickly IMO & you can also add a additional descriptive heading in bold lettering to each symbol if you like to even further identify the name of the link. Very well done IMO & very cool. 5 stars is the rating I gave. Cool indeed.

Great, my first thing on a new computer in install this extension

This is very helpful and help me to stay organized.

Great app but when you reformat your computer and such you have to remember all the dials you lost there needs to be a way to save the dials so you can have them next time.

It forces you to use bing as your search provider and no way to change it to google not to mention the monthly crashes where you have to start over and make all your tabs and background again other than that its not to bad.

Like the program as it pulls everything together in one place for quick access.

This was a Really Great Add-on Last Week ! This week, after EverSync released their latest update, on Ubuntu VFD No Longer Recognizes that's even installed ! Goodbye Speed Dial Sync ? Warning to Current Linux Users, Make Sure you export your Speed Dials to somewhere you can Restore them ! Don't be like me and Lose All your Speed Dials ! Who knows when this Add-on will be Updated ? I'm still using it, but I'm going to Have to Recreate all my former Speed Dials manually now... Update: This Does work on Windoze, so I was able Download my Dials and Export them, then Restore All of them !

Works great. Prefer the appearance over Speed Dial 2, which I had been using. Update - I'm now using FVD Speed Dial on my 3rd computer. I wouldn't buy a computer or use a browser that was incompatible with FVD Speed Dial. It completely organizes my web browsing.

5 stars. I used another program until I tried FVD. I'm seventy years old. FVD makes it easier to keep track of things.

FVD Speed Dial is an excellent extension. It places an easy to see, fully customizable icon (if you know how to use paint programs) into selected groupings that are also USER-created. I find that I can flip from FINANCE group to SHOPPING group, or GAMING group with a quickness. Such a helpful extension. I have tried a few of the others, and none meet my needs as well as this one. THANK YOU for creating this very handy tool!

Since that webpage is also run by the same developers, it even allows you to use your very same login info all from a browser website. Hi, Please add a feature that will *NOT* update the dial's Title field (possibly with a checkbox next to the title field), if the dial is set to "Auto Preview", so any update of the URL/address field - will update ONLY the image of the dial, not replace the current title with the title from the web page. Great but only gets three stars the other two stars only after they allow you to arrange icons. They Now allow you to rearrange icons. This google app is just great!!!

I've been using this extension for more than 5 years now, at work, 2 Chromebooks and a Laptop with Google Chrome. !Adding all of the bookmarks is very easy and having everything at my fingertips and in the order that works for me and being able to have different pages for various topics is such a timesaver!

Sucks and complecated.

For the most part I am very satisfied with the ease of setting up dials and groups. However, I am not pleased with the fact that, after I have added all the dials I use, it will crash overnight and take them all away. Going to Eversync to select the most recent restore does no good whatsoever and I have to start from scratch. This happens every few months or so. I use Chrome as I am NOT a fan of Microsoft Edge. Well, here it is Nov 2022 and no change in functionality. Again, just two days ago, I started up my PC and my dials were gone and Eversync doesn't restore them. This is highly frustrating and I wonder what is holding up finding the bug that is causing this. Please remedy this.

It was great until it stopped refreshing my dials. I have tried to contact the administrator 3-5 times with never any reply. I am a premier member for too many years to count now and am shopping for other apps.

I really like this extension. It looks great and all my favorite links to pages are right there! I just wish it would give me an option for what search engine it uses. Like duck-duck-go or something. Maybe it already does and I just haven't figured it out yet.

i was using this Speed Dial [FVD] for 3 years is very good i save 500+ dial but my window got problem and when i did new window i lose all my tab but now i still have close to 200 dial i loved this program but i don't have money to buy lifetime package ??

I am really annoyed that this amazing extension was "hidden" from me for so long. I LOVE it! I discovered a whole new world. Just two annoying features that are probably fixable but I haven't figure it out yet: the default search on the Speed Dial is Bing. I had to add a speed dial for Chrome to avoid Bing. Also, the background is dark and not my favorite screen. Chrome white background works for me. If I could change that to white I will sleep well all the time. Thanks for making it available to me.

Been having issues with Speed Dial for almost 6 months and can't find any help to correct problem. Speed Dial now takes 1 to 5 minutes to load, get message there's a problem, but not to worry nothing is lost. It's a pain when I'm in a hurry and have to wait for it to load and it's why I drop it to 3 stars, other then that it runs fine.

This is my favorite extension for organizing bookmarks. I have different tabs for work and home. It's also easy to make changes to the layout and background.

It was rather easy to get used to this extension, and I'm happy with most of the results. Although I would like to be able to change the search engine from Bing back to what I was using before. Either way being able to have more links at the ready is very convenient.

WARNING! This extension hijacks the search results, trying to point you to content that is possibly paying to the creator of this extension. Since I've been using this, my Google search results have become terrible, I keep seeing the exact same pages as a search result for literally any search that I make. Absolutely **NOT** recommended. The functions it has are quite ok, I must add, but the fact that it does alter the search results you get out of Google are the very least alarming.

Works well, full featured. I don't care for the icon. Too busy. Also a way to drag a note to he desktop or open individually would be a great addition.

I don't know about other browsers but I just started using the Brave browser after using all the rest and Speed Dial works perfectly so far. Just so you know I have been in computers since the mid 1970's, built my first one then.

Very nice implementation. DO NOT like that my "smile" link is automatically redirected to an affiliate link. Very sketchy. Will be looking for a replacement.

Really liked the idea of speed dials, and I have used it for the past 2 years or so...But recently in Chrome versions 105 and above, it is making loading of pages dead slow. I disabled the extension and tried, and everything got normal. So some issue with the extension for sure. This is seen across websites including - YouTube, Amazon, GMail and the like.

Nice format - love the color theme, the 3D effect, the ability to drag and drop to rearrange the tiles. BUT, frankly I am not happy that for some unknown reason they used Bing as their search engine and they don't allow you to control that - not even if you go into your Google Chrome settings and delete Bing from your list of available search engines - nope, if you want the Search bar function to appear on your New Tab page, they force you to use Bing.

This extension and system has been a critical part of my business as a web developer and automation consultant for over a decade. Highly recommend, and take the time to learn how to configure, sync to other devices, etc so you get the most out of it!

I need my devices to feel like their mine. It may some weird issue I have but it's always been a necessity and this indeed surpasses everything else out there.

Was trying to find a replacement once they added a "refereal" to my Amazon and Walmart dial. So I would just type in those sites. Recently reformated my system and reloaded SpeedDial. Pleasently surprised that the referal is no longer being blately added. Good job.

I tend to need to use the same few sites frequently, this dashboard makes it simple. The re-open feature is great as well. I just wish it would save the speed-dials across multiple devices, but I think that's a limitation of Chrome extensions. Awesome tool!

Hey I don't know a lot about different speed dial apps or screens. I know that this was easy to learn and it saves me a lot of time. Need to learn about integrating this with 1Password or other p/w security apps.

Works great but when you wat to export dials to another PC you have to do it all manually as it won't save the dials like Fox Mozilla browser Speed Dial does. I suppose if you buy the pro version it might but not the free version. That's why I give it 4 stars because you can back up on your PC but you can't export it.

Works OK with most browsers, but I have lost the URL and Title labels that used to be above and below the 'Dials' no matter what colour I set the text. That does matter as some sites do not have their own icon.

Most effective tool to organize your work day, volunteer work, research or study sessions! I have been using FVD Speed Dial for a while now and always install on new computers. I use it to group my tabs according to assignments, responsibilities, or interests.

Have it on all my computers. Love the design and functionality. I added different groups to categorize my bookmarks. Had to copy/paste 1 at a time. Wish I could have figured a way to just import into each group. Also, I set it to open as my Home Page which is perfect. Former user of igoogle that shut down, so this is a nice alternative. Only thing I would like to see is the ability to change Search provider options for the search box. Problems with sync to another computer: does not bring over the ICONS on some of the bookmarks that I have on the original computer. Have to manually edit these. Update: Still great

I've been using FVD speed dial for years and also install it on my customers machines. Everyone loves it, so far. It makes using the internet easy for those who are a little unsure.

I like it. But would love it more if I could remove the popular group from my groups. When I try to by the manage group option it does not show up in there. And there is not an check box option to have it hidden or removed another way.

UPDATE 8/31/2022 - I've been using this since 2015 and still love it. It is so customizable and really keeps me organized. It's fairly easy to sync with any PC I use and keep all my dials. It looks great and keeps me organized. Can't say enough good things about it. Original Review: Lots of cool features. Works great so far without any issues.
