If for nothing else than enabling ctrl+tab to toggle btwn most recently accessed tabs - which common sense option is not even present in Chrome (unlike Firefox) - then this thoughtful extension would warrant 5 stars. However I cannot seem to enable this otherwise welcome extension. .

Every now and then it stops working until I disable and re-enable the extension, which is very inconvenient [Windows 11, Chrome Version 108.0.5359.125] I can't put my finger on exactly when it stops working, but I tried to disable all other extensions so I know there is no conflection and no luck. When it works, it's the BEST! and the customization is on another level.

Can't praise this enough lets you customize the hot keys to trigger, page/tab actions, and keyboard/mouse inputs. This works soooo good for repetitive tasks. Works much better than the various "auto clicker" extensions I tried. The interface for creating the automation actions is easy to understand and intuitive. I was able to figure out how to automate mouse clicks at specific locations in just a couple minutes

Why is there no warning that this extension cannot be used on Macs?! Sounds like a great extension. It's NOT! After installing it on my Mac, I get this page that says I need to install the 'native component'. When I click the button, I get: We are sorry, your operating system is currently not supported. At the moment, AutoControl is supported on: Windows XP Windows Vista Windows 7 Windows 8 Windows 10 Read the FAQ to learn why this limitation exists. Try installing anyway It's not bad enough that I have to install some unknown software that I can't check with VirusTotal but it is WINDOWS ONLY and I am invited to install it anyway? I don't want to think about what that might do. Nothing good, that's for sure.

Best app for this type of stuff, literally the only app that actually works on all tabs, although the mapping of gestures for mouse are a bit annoying to setup, but besides that really good!

This gestures work even before the page is loaded. Crx mouse gestures start to work after the page is completely loaded whick screws me over, because if I click a link by mistake I want to go back immediatelly, not in five seconds. Pity that there are no common gestures (back, forward). You have to program all by yourself. But that isn't worth taking off a star from rating!

The Single Most AWESOME Extension to be EVER found on Chrome Web Store. Mad HATS OFF to the developers for this superb CUSTOMIZABILITY!!! I've always believed that customization is the KING when it comes to user especially when making software for all kinds of users from all around the world. No amount of KUDOZ could be enough for the developers to who recognize this and dedicate their focus on making products and softwares customizable. Would love the full same thing for MAC. And it would just be wonderful if you ever think about making something like this that would customize entire OS. I will definitely support the developers for this great effort and support via donations. P.S. One minor suggestion: Simple 'IF', 'ELSE IF' and 'ELSE' conditions are the only things which I have found to be missing which would allow so many things to do. e.g. to check if <selection> is empty or not. PLEASE MAKE ONE FOR MAC. AND PLEASE MAKE OS CUSTOMIZER FOR WINDOWS AND MAC. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I've been doing a lot of translations lately and have found this extension very useful in combination with ahk. Just an example of how I use them together: AHK: Capturing text from image using sharex ocr, copying it to the clipboard, activating the browser. Autocontrol: Activating the specified tab by the URL domain, focusing on the specified element, and then pasting text from the clipboard to translate it. Amazing extension with rich functionality.

It's very easy to use and powerful. If you could add 2 actions in the Windows actions section that'd be even better. One is scrolling down to the page bottom, the other is scrolling up to top (the Home and End buttons on the keyboard). Thank you!

I hope you see this. I love the app, it makes everything super easy, and I loved especially the gui you created to create actions. I was thinking maybe you can create a spinoff from this app to create AutoHotkey scrips. There is something similar on the internet (ahkgen), but the way this extension captures user input is on another level. What I am saying is you should think about creating a webapp that creates AHK scripts from the input capturing of this app. Otherwise this is great:)

This beats other competitors. Has exactly the features that I need: to disable the spacebar key for web players. Other extensions could only stop the the spacebar key from scrolling the page down, but not web players. I think it's because this extension has the native application. Thank you for making this extension. I have yet to learn all that it does. Looks like I can use it for many other things.

This extension seems like the one I've been searching for, but I'm not seeing the item that I need for a trigger. My first task is to hover over a link, and then press CTRL+C, in order to copy a link. This replaces the need for drilling down on the link with right-clicking. From what I can see this would be a multistep trigger, but the hover condition isn't present in the list of available triggers. Did that trigger get called by a different name? That's the only star that is missing from my review. Otherwise, it's a 5-star product, so I'll update if I find or am advised on that hover trigger being present.

It will be better if you change your extension's name and suffix it with [only windows os]

I was astounded that Chrome did not have this functionality built in and usually it's a headache to find an extension that actually works properly but this extension so far has been FANTASTIC. The UI is slick, efficient and very intuitive without any clutter, and it has all the functionality I could ever hope for! The only thing I can't seem to find is a way to use pause and next track/previous track media hotkeys :(

I like it because fully programable. but I`ve found a bug. When I programmed a keyboard key to do something, specifically if I press ''N'' Activate Netflix tab. So sometimes when the text cursor is active it forces to switch to Netflix anyway but it has a condition to not trigger when a text cursor is on. (On-unchecked,Omnibox-unchecked,Off-Checked) Please fix it or help me if I made a mistake.

Fantastic work. I will give 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ when I figure out how to move item mark with the mouse wheel in the tab menu with thumbnail previews. Using AHK I do this with Alt-Tab task switcher and middle mouse wheel and button to select program. edit: Almost Done! you have my 5 stars! edit: DONE!

This is perfect. I tried using CrxMouse before this because it is the most popular one (at the moment) but it didn't work so well for me. This one is very good. Some things that I would like added: The ability to associate mouse gestures with keyboard shortcuts (for example, when I draw a line up - press alt+home) Additional actions added (especially "Go to home page", "Scroll to top" would be useful).

I despite auto-scrolling when the middle mouse button is clicked, but Chrome provides no way to disable this feature. I've been looking for a solution for years. This is it! Installation is fast and simple, and configuration also simple (See the example posted by the extension's author here: https://i.snipboard.io/IshGuT.jpg) Extension seems very powerful, so looking forward to seeing what else I can do.

Might be the only current solution to blocking middle mouse auto scrolling but it basically removes all special mouse click functions from Chrome until you make new custom actions to do those things again. By default, middle mouse click auto scroll is already gone after install, but it also removes regular up/down middle mouse scrolling and middle click close tab. So I readded custom actions that do exactly that and now finally I have all the regular functions of the mouse in Chrome except NO annoying middle mouse auto scroll. Great extension here but this is a silly solution to something that should be a checkbox in Chrome settings.

Wow! Just Wow! Note: tab hoarder here! ;-) This is an example of how all extensions should be written. Perfect both feature and execution-wise. Advanced customizations are just mind-boggling, and finally able to auto-focus on that one tab among tens of windows and hundreds of tabs with a shortcut. And it backups, and syncs remotely and locally with other Google accounts! Just perfect! Donated after just 5min of usage! ;-)

The amount of control this gives you over your experience in Chrome is insane, even some things you have never thought about before (unloading/closing all tabs to the right, hotkey to bring up WhatsApp Web/Notion tabs, TILING MY CHROME WINDOWS, etc) I highly recommend it for keyboard shortcuts alone but you can even use gestures, and sync it across devices and different Chrome profiles? Now that's 6 stars from me.

Doesn't work with Linux!!! It lets you install, but when you try to use it, a screen pops up requiring that you install their "Native Component" to run, which is available only for Windows.

I feel this is a very powerful app which is probably why there are things i have not discovered yet. it would be nice if there was a page where people shared their shortcuts to give othjer people ideas how to use it. so my main QUESTION please. I was using another mouse gesture extension which is great but the rocker gesture is not smooth and i would prefer to use this extension exclusively. However with that extension, there is a great feature which is by holding my mouse button and selecting any text on a webpage, i can then set a mouse trigger gesture to automatically search a website for what i highlighted. For example im browsing the web and I see an item on that webpage that I would like to find on amazon. So I highlight it with my mouse and do a mouse gesture (in the shape of an "a" for amazon in this case) and it will immediately open the amazon search webpage with results for what i highlighted all in one step (or it could set to search any page like ebay or reddit or google search search results etc). so for example i highlight the word pencil on a webpage, then do my trigger gesture and it opens https://www.amazon.co.uk/s?k=PENCIL. is there a way to search what i highlighted in one step with this extension please? Another question please - is it possible to set a trigger gesture to cause action of a keyboard press (for example my trigger is when i press a keyboard button the action is to output alt+shift+H) Finally - There is something that really bugs me about chrome that there is no extension to fix. whenever i save a bookmark it goes to the bottom of my bookmarks bar. as i have a lot of bookmarks i have to scroll all the way to the end. I would love an option to save a bookmark with a trigger gesture and it goes to the most left hand side of my bookmarks tab so i can see it straightaway rather than the default end of the list. I can not believe there is not one extension that does this because firefox has this great extension called "Default Bookmark Folder" which lets you choose to add the new bookmarks to the top or the bottom of the selected folder and with one click too. The function is great and awesome, but the CPU utility is really high, about 10-20%. Even higher than the CPU utility of the browser itself.

Amazing extension. It does what what other extensions try to do but does it flawlessly. Ive been searching for an extension to switch to MRU tab with control+tab without changing the chrome preferences and this is perfect.

Amazing Extension....One Minor bug / improvement : - When triggering or opening "Tab List Menu" using keyboard shortcuts - the highlighted tab in the "Tab list Menu" is some random tab but should be either the tab which is currently focussed or the first tabs or there should be some option to mention which tab should be highlighted on opening Tab List Menu - This is particularly important in case of navigation shortcuts where youwant to jump to the next or previous tabs from the one which is currently focussed and not some random tab. Hope this make sense. Otherwise Rad extension!

This extension is AWESOME! I especially love that you can make it run any script as an action. That allows me to add all sorts of custom shortcuts. For example I made a script to Google selection when I press Crt+G. Seriously the developers did such a good job with this. Thank you!

I'll echo the other very positive reviews here. This is not just an ordinary "excellent" extension. It is exceptionally well designed and implemented. You can just tell by it's architecture and functionality that real thought, care, and great skill are behind it. Now if only it were available universally across my entire OS and all apps!

Hello @AutoControl Shortcut team. I just wanna say great thanks for this cool extension. I don't know why the Google team doesn't let the user edit shortcuts. It was really displeasing that I can't use the Ctrl+Tab hotkey for switching to the previous tab, because I really used to it in Opera. I absolutely pleased that I have found this cool extension. 5 stars from me - regret that I can't give you 100.

Since Chrome lack shortcut manager, this extension is exactly what I needed!

I absolutely LOVED this until it stopped working about a week ago (October 20th 2020). Seems to send wrong keys after Chrome is open a while. Have to restart chrome to get it to work again for the right keys. Anyone else having issues?

This extension installs a stand-alone application on your system (inside C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\AutoControl) which is identified by several anti-virus as malware. Even though the developers keep saying these are false positives, the number of detections are increasing. So it's the developer's word against the verdict of anti-virus scanners. Make of that what you want, I would prefer to stay on the safe side.

Awesome! Working great for me. Switches tab (f7 Prev tab\\ f8 Next tab ) perfectly despite accidently focusing in text fields. Its became wery comfortable with this.

This is a life saving app for me, if there is a app i can't live with out, this is it. Why? It saves my hand/arm/health because i use this app to remap my mouse buttons to keyboard and vise versa.

Thank you so much for this amazing app! I finally was able to recreate the Windows Task-Switching behavior in the Webbrowser. Just using Ctrl instead of Alt. This should be the default behavior (or at least an option) in every Webbrowser, it makes so much more sense since this functionality is available on every major OS and has been proven to be very useful. Tabbing from the start to the end of the tab list is just no comparison. Thank you again and have a wonderful day.

Awesome extension! Two issues: 1. When activated with the right click the Edge right-click menu randomly pops up; 2. The whole extension sometimes is disabled randomly and has to be re-activated from the "emergency repair" option. Keep it up guys!

The best extension ever

This extension is awesome.. Due to the Coronavirus epidemic I need to connect from home to my work computer via RDP. I use keyboard shortcuts a lot in my work and in particular Ctrl-W and Alt-F4 which, until I found this extension, would close the connection / close Chrome altogether which was extremely annoying. Now i can disable these shortcuts or even send them to the remote computer without having my local browser catch them and act on them. Besides pure functionality, the extension's visual interface is also outstanding (it took me a while to get used to it, though).

When the "native component" is flagged by my virus software as having malware and trojans I'm pretty sure it's not safe no matter what kind of words are on the download page. Install this stuff at your own risk.

I'd like it if a keybind would still activate when a key that's not part of it is being held down

Great concept, but did not work at all for me. I downloaded this to make help me scroll to the top and bottom of my current browser page using Ctrl+Arrow Keys with one hand, but instead it made my page zoom in and out. I currently have to use two hands to reach the Fn+Arrow Keys to jump scroll... WOE IS MEEEEEE
