... But why in the world it doesn't have an option "mark all and update"? How do you imagine I will manually update 2k redirected bookmarks? And what should I do, if I have under "non-available" 500 URLs with 404/410, but 50 with 401 (because of authorization need)? Here again - I'm forced delete all, than add manually the 50. Please, create an option to mark all or certain bookmarks!
The "Quick Bookmark Cleaner" extension has been hacked with the Bing Redirect Virus. Do NOT trust this extension. I had been using it for years, but the developer is clearly not taking steps to protect the extension or fix the problem.
Worked fine in the past, but as of 12/9/2022 using Quick Bookmark Cleaner 1.2 on Chrome 108.0.5359.99 it suddenly hijacks all Google searches and redirects them to Bing.
This extension is now malware. Uninstall it immediately.

I have enjoyed this extension for a long time, but unfortunately, the latest version comes with a browser hijacker, so I have to delete it.
Injects JS into every page that hijacks Google and redirects to a scammy Bing link.
Another extension author sold their soul for some quick cash. Shame.
***DELETE THIS*** Phones home to wtrxqb.com every four to six minutes. My DNS service caught this - it was the top blocked URL over a 24 hour period.
Know that this is an all-or-none thing. You can't stop the scan midstream and get results. Bookmark Dupes is superfast and doesn't have that issue. The results are good and thorough for broken links, but it becomes an all-or-one*at*a*time choice in deletion.
I accumulated an insane number of bookmarks over the years. It's cool to have a simple extension help clean out those bookmarks that are obsolete/broken. It sure beats having to try out all the bookmarks to remove them. This extension goes some way toward keeping bookmarks tidy but it does leave many wanting. Would the developer please come back and update?

It could be great. Redirected Bookmarks ... Update URL. I had 800 redirected bookmarks. It has a delete all, why not an Update all URLs? It seems to do a great job at checking URLs. But needs only the simplest additional options for each type of result, error, server error, timeout, redirected, invalid url, timeout, ... to make efficient and fast. A select all and a multi select for resolving any bookmark irregularities. Take the generic Errors. If there is a bookmark https://www.domain.com/bla1/bla2 and it returns an error such as not found the extension should automatically check https://www.domain.com/bla1, go up one step in the tree and see it that one works. If it doesnt automatically try https://www.domain.com. It that doesnt work ok its bad. But if a higher branch of the tree does work, the user should be shown that and given the option of accepting or multi selecting all to be changed the the upper branch that works. Web site administers all change links over the years. That doesn't mean the company does not exist anymore nor that the original info from the original like does not exist anymore. I would be like the option to accept the next working link. Essentially the same with accepting redirected URLs.
I managed to accumulate over the years over 338 bookmarks!!! which is insane!! I can scroll for a long while till I reach the bottom, and where this extension shines, is, well, I tried many extensions for managing and cleaning my bookmarks, and all of the others failed me, and 1 even messed up everything, and this is the only extension that allowed me to delete all of my bookmarks fairly easily, while this extension isn't perfect, it's way ahead of the competition!!! 5 stars from me, maybe 4, but ill give it 5.

Its works well EXCEPR it marks EVERY Chrome Web Store entry as BAD! These are normal, valid pages. Even its own Extension page on the Web Site get marked as bad. Please explain?
Better than expected. Seeing the low review count I expected less, but on testing, it does things a lot more how I'd like, with an abundance of usable technical information. I really appreciate how it segregates out different bookmark types (like Javascript bookmarklets), and above all the redirect detector which thankfully includes the HTTP codes. All in all, it's great. I wish I would have discovered it before spending some 10 hours doing the job manually... The only thing that could be improved is either adding a 'Merge duplicate folders' option (like 'Bookmarks clean up') or make it more prominent. Also, the graphic interface would stand to look a bit nicer. Those two things would make this plugin the clear juggernaut.

Not QUICK. The extension 'scanned' bookmarks for over 20 minutes and still was barely making progress. I don't have as many bookmarks as some of the people here mentioned so I have no idea why it was so slow. The word QUICK should be removed. There are other options out there which I have tried which, although imperfect, are way better than this. And please don't write a comment with "WHY DON'T YOU HOLD THE XYZ BUTTON?" because bottom line is, it's not quick, it's ridiculously slow and there is no way to complete in batches to see if it even works. A complete waste of time for me, but other people seem to love it so what do I know?
It seems to work, however, took me literally hours (I kicked it off 4 or 5 different times and it took hours). Why? because I made the mistake at one time to use XMarks and also to sync using Firefox and Chrome. Well, the result was thousands of duplicates, to the point where I had nearly 45,000 bookmarks. There were tons of empty, or nearly empty folders duplicated with some, all, or none of the bookmarks that went in them. I've tried all sorts of tools. This one finally finished, but it appears to let you delete valid bookmarks, too. My bad. I did make a backup, so... Back to the drawing board. It does NOT delete duplicate folders, if they are not empty. It won't be worth my time using again until it deleted empty folder FIRST, not after everything else has been deleted and you run it for the 8th or 109th time...

This extension is perfect in relation to features, except it has a big flaw... Clicking the RED X to delete an individual link DOESN'T WORK. Can only delete with the "delete all" button. Extension needs to be updated to work properly.

It would be nice if the extension offered to do non-network things (clean up empty folders, bookmarklets and local file URLs) without scanning all the bookmark URLs. Scanning thousands of bookmark takes a long time, and hopefully the results are worth it... I liked it BUT when Chrome gave me the warning I closed the tab, right clicked then removed that bookmark it warned me about, scanned again but it kept coming back up like the bookmark was still there (prob cached) so I closed the browser, reopened the browser, clicked on the extension, scanned again, and then got the same warning. So I'm assuming it has to be uninstalled and reinstalled since it seems to be keeping the cached data of the original scans and not releasing it.
Dead links found are good, but Redirected with 3000 links then with a mode of selecting 1 per 1 is a nightmare and useless, no search/filter of keyword on this subset, only Delete All available, which is risky.
Perfect extension!! Do more than other extensions related to bookmarks. Show 404 bookmarks and bookmarks with redirects on site. Beside clearing up duplicates and broken links.
Worked for me, but I'd suggest lowering concurrent checks to prevent false positives when checking for timeouts.

Very easy to use and does exactly what it says it can do. Easily update links to https and remove 404 links. Nice and simple, works perfectly thank you!

Reviewed bookmarks quickly Identified various kinds of errors Allowed me to "delete all" in each category I scanned several times and it continued to pick up (now) empty folders and additional problematic bookmarks EVEN BETTER would be a way to save all errors to a text file, or a csv file, so they could be reviewed Some of the bookmarks had user name & password information that I wanted to reclaim

Great app. Just what I was looking for! Please add option to "Delete All". Clicking deleting one by one is kinda insane if you have a large bookmark!
This extension is really useful and works well, I especially like being able to update redirected links. Though it would be nice to have the option of only processing select folders.
I downloaded this in the hope it would allow me to sweep my entire bookmarks folder. While it was successful in doing what it says on the tin, clearing up duplicates and broken links, it didn't do what I downloaded it for, yet comes up at the top of the search list for "delete all bookmarks"
