stopped working. asking for me to log in all the time, even though i'm logged in already

The extension worked well. It told me when I had new mail in a timely fashion. The only times I ever noticed it having connection issues was when Google's Inbox/mail servers were having issues, which is understandable. It's served me well for quite some time now and I'm incredibly disappointed that I'll have no more use for this after the end of the month.

I've been using this extension since I moved from GMail to Inbox and loved it - simple and helpful, customizable enough.Sadly, Google is discontinuing Inbox at the end of March 2019 and I have to move back to GMail.

I used it for quite a long time, but recently on my desktop (laptop is ok) when I open the inbox using this extension it looks like the browser lost connection. I am unable to load any webpage until I restart the browser.

I would like to add custom notification tones and other Google accounts, but overall; the app is useful.

Please allow me to hide the unread count. I want notifications for new messages but the unread count is useless to me (999+ perpetually). Also let me monitor multiple accounts, not just select one.

I'm not sure what changed, but the past few weeks I've caught my laptop's fans revving high and it's always due to this extension being at 100% CPU usage. It's a shame, because this extension has worked well for years, but it's hard to justify keeping it installed when it has such a negative impact on my computer's performance and battery life. (From a more paranoid perspective, it also makes me wonder if something malicious is going on, since it isn't unheard of for extensions to be purchased and then filled with malware/adware. I haven't looked at the source to know for sure what's going on though, and I have no reason to believe that's the case here, so I'd like to assume it's just an innocent programming mistake that will be resolved in the near future.)

Does what it says, but God help you if you change your password while it is running. It will continuously spawn logon tabs so fast that you can't even type in your password fast enough to log in before being pulled to a new logon tab.

I would give 5 stars if it wasn't for the 1 email that it's always showing me. The inbox is empty and I get a notification everyday for that non-existing email. It would be great if it did not open a new chrome tab every I click on it. I always end up with multiple Inbox tab. Otherwise, it's fine.

The best mail client I ever used... Critical problem for me - you can use only gmail mailbox. I use gmail as my primary mail, but I can't refuse my other mailboxes.

Doesn't accept different gmail account. Always opens the same one when I try to set it up, even though I choose the right account (when logging in) that I want it to use. Question mark on the icon stays there.

Doesn't show contents of emails or reminders, and if I click the badge, it opens Inbox in a new tab, even if I already have it open in its own window.

Its a great little extension for certain, but just needs a couple of tweaks. First, display the unread count as it does, but allow configuration of what bundles to notify for. I have bundles set to only notify at different times, daily or weekly etc. Notification of these bundles defeats the purpose of inbox feature. Second, when notifications arrive, clicking them should take you directly to the message within the respective inbox folder. Outside of these tweaks .. fantastic, best notifier available.

Would be nice to snooze notifications indefinitely. But otherwise, it's a good extension, very reliable and quick.

Out of the three I've tried, this is the best extension! I like that it displays notifications even when there is no Inbox tab open.

It's plain and simplistic, though I would've appreciated it if I was able to edit what notification will show in the extension.

Works fairly well with one remark. When using multiple google accounts you can point which one you like notification from. The issue is that this setting is synced across computers. In my case I want to receive notification from my personal account on my personal pc and receive notification from my work account on my work pc..

the option to set a custom sound file would be great. the ones included in the extension are terrible :(

Simple and works well. But I wish the notifications for new emails would show the subject and sender.

The plugin is not helpful. I am notified about every email instead of only those that appear in my Inbox - which is the whole point of the new interface.

I wish it worked like notifications on the iOS app, namely only notifying for unbundled emails. I don't need to be bleep blooped every time the car company sends me an ad and then ding donged again when some other junk comes in.

It does what it says it does, but the whole point of Inbox is to categorize the emails. The checker should have the option to alert us only for certain types of emails -- like uncategorized or for a certain rule. I do not need an alert, for example, for every single forum post, Amazon update, or banking notice.

Not bad. Desktop notification could be better (lacks message preview).

It does what I need. Others mention they want it to handle bundles, but for me it works to have it give me the total, unbundled count as a notification. I would like it to handle multiple accounts so that I can notified if my personal or my joint email (with my wife) gets an email. But this is a nice-to-have feature that I can fix in other ways.

Best version of the Inbox Checker on the Chrome Web Store. The other ones have been very unreliable for me, this one just works. It refreshes quickly and opens Inbox immediately when it is clicked, unlike the other extensions available. Five stars.

This is an extension I needed for Chrome. The only way it could be better if it was made by Google.

Works, but will log me out occasionally..

if you have a bundle set to show daily at 7:00 AM, the notifier will show an unread message immediately upon entering your inbox.

It could be helpful if we can choose which bundle will be notified for upcoming emails.

Does not handle bundles

It is very slow to update the actual number of my unread emails.

Echoing what Rajiv Krijnen said - need to support the Inbox bundling. I only want notifications of actual Inbox messages that are not bundled (which is arguably what Inbox does best)

Really needs a feature to ignore bundled mails like 'updates' from the unread count and notifications. They aren't even visible in inbox until they are shown every other week. One of Inbox's best features is that it doesn't bother me with every single mail that comes in and bundles them for me. This feature needs to be supported by a proper inbox checker. 5 stars when fixed!

Works pretty good. Especially since I can't get gmail/chrome notifications to actually work. I just wish the count reflected unread emails only, instead of all emails in the inbox. Not sure if I'll keep using it or not because of that.

Would be better if it only shows emails that are only in the Inbox. I would like it to not sure ones that are set to display at a different time

Exactly what I need for work.

It's great and it has options to choose time intervals for checking.

Non-retina icon. Shows "Unread" emails, a philosophy that Inbox by Gmail is trying to get away from. Should show emails that are marked as not Done in the Inbox.

It is great, but notifications need a little work.

Great extension, works as advertised. The notifications and the sound on new mails are a big plus.

Simplicity, multi-account support, desktop notifications. Everything I need and no more. No in-place popup bullshit. <3 Only 4 starts for missing features: 1. Doesn't refresh count on icon click 2. Notifications don't include actual email title 3. 60 seconds refresh interval is too high
