TOP STANDARD TIN JOOB. middle mous click and goes direct tho sometimes i wanna open many etsy etc pages then not direct so on off be good i just disable from the MIGHTY SIMPLE EXT MANAGER
Thank you!!! Why else would we open new tab/window but to switch to it?! Who opens a new tab/window just to have it quietly sitting in the background?
Perfect, this app does EXACTLY what you want it to do.
Unfortunately will conflict with tab groups, expanding them all on Chrome start.
Thanks for this extension. Was using another similar extension but it has become unreliable (Tab Activate).
I use to work like this in Safari. Now this extension brings that subtle yet amazing functionality to Chrome. Big thank you.
Had it on a previous Chromebook, and had difficulty finding it to add to my new one. As many others have said, I don't know why this isn't a toggle setting in Chrome. Google, are you listening? April 2022 update: Stopped working, removed and reinstalled, working.
Good for CTRL + T but doesn't replicate exactly how it is on Firefox which is what i wanted. Example on Firefox if you middle-click the YouTube logo on youtube.com it will open a new tab but not focus on it.
Does what it says in a small package!
Worked great as soon as installed!
I just downloaded this so have only minimal testing, but it seems to work well, quickly opening a link when I middle click on the mouse button and moving the focus to the new tab. I don't know why Vivaldi (which I'm also just starting to use) doesn't offer something similar as an option. Instead you have to either right click the link and chose to open it in a new tab that also gets the focus, or you have to use a keyboard modifier. I will say this extension may not be what everyone wants. Unless I'm missing something (like I said, I'm new to this) there is no longer an option to open a link in a new background tab. Even using right-click and selecting that option, it still moves the focus to the new tab. That doesn't bother me, but it might bother others.
Simple, fast, works as promised.
I only want a change of focus for new (blank) tabs. Otherwise, I prefer to load a bunch of tabs in the background before I navigate to them. Is there a configuration setting for this?
After chasing around the web on several different days, I finally got to this and it does exactly what I wanted - something that will get Chrome to switch to a new tab when I right-click to open a link in a new tab. I probably missed it at least once because I had to repair it twice before it would work, but it works great now! Why Chrome can't include this as one of the settings, I don't know, but at least I have it now!
Does exactly what Google failed to make it do! Lightning fast on a new MacBook pro, no lag at all. Great job Arctic Phoenix!
Works fine!
Works as it should. Very tiny and just a few lines of code, simply activating a new tab whenever it gets created. Problem is latest versions of Chrome seem to have a slight delay, meaning you click a link but it will not open for maybe a full second (which can be a bit of a nuisance)
Does exactly what it says on the tin, simple and effective. I can't imagine why this isn't a standard option in Chrome.
I'd like to have a black background when it loads the new page. White is to strong for the eyes at night. Thanks.
This is an automatic install for any of my computers, and any computer I set up for someone else. Why would you open a new tab if you don't want to see it.
Does exactly what it says, and does it so seamlessly that you can't tell it was missing in the first place - and absolutely nothing more. Simple, elegant perfection.
An oldie but a goodie... A must have extension for me. Even works as expected with links within folders in the bookmark bar. I don't know why Google doesn't include this as a built in option within the browser.
Like the man said, simple and it works. Couldn't have said it better myself.
Works as expected on Win 7 Chrome, uses about 17MB memory with no active processes. Simple, yet good.
Very simple and it just works. Whenever I open a new tab it changes focus to it, as easy as that. No more finding where it opened just to be able to see it, specially when there's sound on that newly opened tab... great extension.
It just works! Great extension. No issues, no options to fiddle with, no button clutter, just install and forget...
This makes all new tabs appear in front and ready to read.
awesome!
Excellent - TVM!!
super
This is great.
I just wanted to emulate IE's setting that opens new tabs when I use a right-click to open a hyperlink in a new tab. This product does it perfectly without any unnecessary bells and whistles.
Simple and convenient - excellent combination.
Simple, elegant, works great, no fuss, no muss. Thanks!
Not work for me, New page is freezing and scroll is unresponsive, So I deleted it!
Exactly what I've missed from Firefox... Ctrl-click on a link and it opens in the foreground as you expect it to.
Not bad and I guess it does what it says, but I'm looking for an extension that reverses the behavior rather than simply always opening new tabs in the foreground no matter what. Usually of course when I open a new tab I want to read it right away, but frequently I'll be looking at a web page and want to keep reading that page but open one or more links from that page for later reading. I have yet to find an extension that allows me to hold down command (Mac) / ctrl (Win) and shift to open a tab in the background, the opposite of current behavior.
