It's mostly good but no direct way to import to BibTeX from the popup. It's good to find the paper without opening another window, when you actually click "Cite" in the popup itself, it only gives you 5 options. BibTeX is at the bottom, which you have to click and let it open in a new tab, which you have to close again. I wish there was an option to just have BibTeX or at least that with others with that at the top. I even enabled the "Show links to import citations into: BibTeX" under "Bibliography manager" but noticed no difference.
Love this extension! It helps so much when I need to quickly find the citation for a publication I am looking at. Favourite extension by far.
I can use my linker's on things I search, it's a must have for any researcher!
I use it everyday and I LOVE IT, Extremely convenient and saves a ton of time
I used to love this extension, but for some reason I cannot search anything anymore and any time I surf to scholar.google.com I need to verify that I'm not a robot. Which is something I can live with I suppose, except this happens multiple times a day?
Please add endnote style download as a critical option in the extension results as like as in web results (I mean, access to the endnote is easily accessible on the very first page (not after clicking on the cite))
To je skvělé!
Hi guys, How can I create automatically in text citations for instance (Johanson, 1988) from the full reference source such as the following? Johanson (1988), The role of business networks in the internationalization of manufacturing firms: A longitudinal case study (pp. 205-222). Univ.. Thank you in advance,
The extension after few searches (around 10 when I was filling my paper in latex overleaf) shutdown and don't respond it shows shows "Unable to access the server. Open results in a new tab" Please fix this bug I like this extension. Good luck.
Very helpful!
It is a button to open and use Google scholar. Straightforward and works. Would and will click to search again. Uncomfortable truths are waiting.
Extremely useful and easy to use.
After adblock, the most useful extension I've ever had by far!!!
Hello Developers, Thank you for the wonderful GS extension. This review is a feature request, in GS extension when clicking the cite option it nicely populate the citations in most of the format (i.e MLA, APA, etc), but when choosing the "Bibtex" it produces the output into a new chrome page, can this be avoided and the output be provided in the extension panel only. This will be a huge boost to the usage for Latex user such as me who use the extensions very frequently. Thank you...!!
The "new and improved" Google Scholar button released in September 2020 does not retain my Google Scholar settings. I keep changing the settings to search Case Law (being careful to click the "save" button), but the next time I use the extension, it delivers articles rather than case law. I've cleared my Google Scholar cookies, logged in again, removed and then reinstalled the button, but nothing seems to help. This makes the extension useless for me. I would appreciate a fix.
为什么我的插件用不了?我选中文献标题的时候,他总是显示无法访问服务器
v.good
very helpful
This extension is very practical and helpful, especially in generating Bibtex citation. Except for ONE THING, the DOI element is missing in the generated Bibtex. DOI is eaily taken from the url, but I have to do it manually since the generated Bibtex is missing the DOI. Too bad!!
good
For A Version Dated 10th November 2019 Sunday. tqsm tqvm.
Kind of pointless. Just lets you search google scholar. Would actually be useful if you could add to and access your library from the extension but you can't
BEST I LOVE THIS EXTENTION VERY HELPFULL
10 seconds in and i love it
helpfull and good
I use the Google Scholar button nearly every day. It's incredibly helpful for scholarly writing because it can search for peer-reviewed journal articles or court decisions, depending on the settings you choose. Just use the cursor to highlight a citation, and Google Scholar automatically enters it into the search box -- no need to even copy and paste. If you have library privileges at a university, etc., the Google Scholar button will incorporate the library's holdings into the search, making even more publications a click away.
Watch out for APA, it is not formatted correctly with DOI. This extension could really be improved with an updated version of APA 7th edition.
So far so good. I just really wish they had the option to choose peer reviewed. After leaving college I no longer have free access to research databases and currently rely mostly on what I'm able to get through my local library. I just discovered Google Scholar and it's so much quicker. Unfortunately there isn't a way currently to weed out a lot of the pseudoscience. It would be wonderful to have a peer review filter option like most databases already have.
I use this so much! thanks for indexing all these papers :)
very helpful
One-click to find articles
Makes referencing so much easier and quicker.
Amazing tool for quick access to research papers and for easier citation download!!
Useful, but would have been great if it allowed the option to save the article directly to my library. Currently need to go to google scholar website to do so.
it is very helpful,thanks.
Nice and easy to tool to search articles
have a try
One of the singlehandedly most useful extensions I've stumbled across. It's an enormous time-saver and has almost everything I could possible need, including direct PDF access to papers, extremely fast search, and citation export to RefWorks (and all the others). The one feature that would make it perfect is if it could detect selected text in PDFs as well.
All was going great until the Error 403 started happening. Now I can hardly download more than 5 articles per day using the button! Tried on multiple computers and have spoke to other people experiencing same issue. IT worker said it is an error on Google's side which they can't fix. PLEASE FIX THIS GOOGLE BECAUSE THIS EXTENSION IS SO CONVENIENT FOR US DOING LITERATURE REVIEWS.
I've had this extension for only a half hour and it's already given me access to about 15 articles that my university library database didn't have. The biggest life saver.
This is the best extension! Amazing
It's okay, but why is there no button to save articles to your library in the extension? This is my main usage purpose. Could you please add this? I feel this extension should be for managing a library of discovered articles.
Stunning!
Fast, simple, easy to use. Does what it needs to with no unnecessary extras.
not very useful
nice
This IS what I have been looking for! It easily cite the articles for me in any format I want. I wish I knew of this sooner.
This is a super useful extension! I use it almost every day. As someone who's not affiliated with a university, I don't have subscriptions to any scholarly journals. But this extension makes it easy to find the full text somewhere free! Highly recommend!
It would be extremely nice if using a bibtex reference didn't open a new page
it doesn't include the DOI, so it's useless for me
It's a handy tool to have, great idea! I give three stars because in the APA-style citations it doesn't include the doi of the article, which I need. Thus, I still have to rely on other reference generators to compose my bibliography.
best
Very, very useful.
Includes Vancouver style citation, which is absent when citing on Google Scholar site.
Very helpful, saves a lot of time

2018 May 25: I have discovered that shutting OFF all extensions prevented the revving of my CPU to near 700% for ~1 hr, and if I turned Scholar Button, Personal Blacklist, etc. on, the revving came almost immediately. Thus, I realize that Google Scholar IS NOT the primary cause of the revving. I change my review in light of that testing. (In fact, I must now cease using Google Chrome on this Mac). :-( 2018 May 24: Meta: Another example of why 5-star rating system FAILS. "Google Scholar extension" is a 5-star idea, the execution is fairly straight-forward and easy to use, and I would rate "4-stars", one less than perfect because I do not often notice the results. However, this extension causes my CPU to go to 650%! on a Macbook Pro retina (2012) El Capitan. Thus, removed.
Very useful, I use it to quickly and painlessly export references to EndNote.
Very helpful for scholarly work! Love this service!
wow thanks : )
Makes citing a paper via Bibtex so much easier
Very convenient, but sometimes you get plenty of mistakes in the cites. Anyway it could have a keyboard shortcut to activate a search?
Simple and usefull
Very useful
Very nice article search tool.
Oddly enough, it seems to conflict with GMail when using Chrome. When I type something at the start of a line, there seems to be a 20–30% chance that the first character will be replaced with 1-2 characters, depending on what that first character was. The only add-ons or extensions I use are AdBlocker, Google Docs Offline and Google Scholar Button. When I disabled the Google Scholar Button, this stopped happening. I generally never used this button though, as I tend to just go straight to Google Scholar in a new tab.
good
Saved a lot of time - wish I'd discovered it sooner!
Simple UI and extremely effective!
This is amazing. The best extension I've ever installed for Chrome. A must-have for any researcher.
Thank you Google! As an academic I have been wanting this add-on for over a decade. IT is very helpful and saves so much time. I will be encouraging all my students to add it to Chrome.
It's really helpful! Saves me lots of time searching for papers.
Easy tool for legal research. Does not replace formal legal research but it great for constructing a research and discovery plan.
How can this not have a "Save to my library" button? I want this to be better than Zotero, but it is not, yet. Needs: 1. Save to my library button. 2. Ability to deal with other forms of publications web articles, standards, etc. 3. The smart folders capability of Endnote. 4. Direct integration from my library into google docs and word. This could be so good ... but it needs more.
a must for dissertation writing.
Needs a "star" button to add to library! also it would be nice if getting bibtex format could be done in the extension without a new window.
extremily helpfull
I think it needs to update the APA reference but other than that, it is super helpful! Saves me a tidbit of time sifting trough endless articles. Although there are some articles with closely related titles - but shows the one with most citations on top first! However, does tend to have some missing info compared to if you were getting a reference from a book...
good help
Maybe 4.5 stars - sometimes for articles with the majority of the title very similar, the search engine will identify the article with the highest citations. Other than that, very useful app!
very helpful app
Extremely helpful!
perfect
Extremely helpful!
Very helpful app
love it
helpful
awesome app
Pretty great but needs an easy way to add things to the scholar library
find me a pdf nowhere can find
Very useful, but why the "more" button recently will redirect to the https://hangouts.google.com/ ???
Really very useful! Only been using it a week, but it's quickly become indispensable when doing academic writing.

Aweful.. Just type click and cite !!!
A concise and convenient extension within Chrome, thanks a lot!
helpful please.
helpful in citing sources
VERRY POWERFULL FOR CREAting konwledge
need to get doi numbers into the ciation, Google.
Very useful. Highlight an intext reference and hit the button to quickly read the abstract and see if the text is of interest to you. amazing. highly recomended.
Nice extension, it allows me to quickly find BibTeX citation for paper title at hand. I wish there was a keyboard shortcut for activating Scholar Button Popup!
i'm a student and because i need to use journals when doing my assignments, google scholar is really fantastic.
