GREAT
Perfect! It does what it promises
Would give it 5* if the icon changed color while it was enabled/disabled as well as the minimizing pinned ones.
not working ..after disable it dont get enable
No longer works as of December 22
I tried to use this extension to diagnose which ones were causing issues and it made everything 100x worse. I now have roughly 10 duplicates of each extension on my toolbar now.
For the most part I like it, if I have a conflict on a webpage causing me to not be able to use it, it does shut all extensions off, then quickly turns them all back on when I click it again. My major issue though, is it for some reason, seems to be closing some of my Chrome windows with no records of the close in the recently closed Chrome history. It seems like it may be only windows with a certain number of tabs in them or more, I'm not sure. I always have a main working window that has around 177 tabs, it always is erased and I think a few others in the 20-30 tab range get wiped, but smaller few to a dozen or so tabs windows are left alone. Since I didn't originally know this might happen, it's cause some lost work & wasted time trying to reconstruct. Now I guess I'll always make a copy of my layout before using, plus will better see exactly what all is getting chopped. Other than that it appears to work great. I see another review mention a connection of losing tabs if they are connected to the extension that's shut off, like The Great Suspender, which I am using the current version of, although have some URL's whitelisted. So that may be a factor in my lost windows and tabs.
This is a Great Extension, but you should have a backup plan. Numbers of times I've used this and wasn't able to get the extension set back on..it seems especially if I've had them off a few hours. Extensions are usually good, but can be quirky and disruptive. Switching them all off can help troubleshoot and diagnose. I like to use Disable Extensions for security reasons when I want to ensure more privacy. It's also helped me realize that my "CharmingSearch" redirect problem stemmed from an extension, not software. In an ever-changing world of extensions and software, it can be tough to know why programs don't work quite right with conflicts etc I'm using Extension Manager as my backup for this program because I'm already familiar with it, but it is a modestly complex extension.
Works like advertised! Thanks!
Works perfectly!
Works flawlessly!
I have many extensions and its a pain to turn them off. So I tried a couple of such extensions and this was the only one that worked for me. It has proven to be handy. What I would like is the ability to turn off say half, then check the site. Then half of that to try to find the extension that is the trouble maker but that is probably too much to ask. I
Most underrated extension there is, especially if you're a developer, designer or just having problems loading pages, because 9 times out of 10 if you're the only one with the problem it is because there is an ad-blocker or poorly coded extension that is interfering with the site. Just use this to disable everything and hit refresh to find out if it was an extension immediately!
Great tool for web devs!
Brilliant extension! Has already saved me hours of troubleshooting issues where plugins cause issues with Lighthouse. One request? It would be GREAT if we could add a whitelist - so to speak - where the plugin watches for URL's we add and when we hit the site, automatically temp disables all extensions. That would be the icing on the cake!
Thx for creating this extension. Saved me a lot of time!
Great, it does exactly what's needed, enabled me to easily eliminate extensions as the reason Wordpress was not working for me. So I cleared the site data, and now it works. Thanks. :) Edit: I left the extensions disabled for a while, and it seems to have synced that to another PC, where I now cannot re-enable the extensions all together. A fairly minor problem.
DO NOT INSTALL, resets extension settings
Doesn't get rid of the puzzle piece.
Good.
No longer compatible with latest version of Chrome. Keeps causing Chrome to crash when toggling it off.
Solid; does exactly what it describes.
Does Exactly what it says. Amazing extention
I love this extension so much. My Time saver!!!
Would be better if it remembered which icons are on the toolbar, and which ones are hidden in the menu. Instead, it leaves everything hidden on restore.
I was very annoyed that it closed many of my open tabs, as well as removing from my history, so I could not recover them. Although, it did indeed disable all my extensions. I enabled them by hand, as I was hoping to use this tool to debug what extensions were causing an issue with another. And the tabs I had open, were not interacting directly with any extensions I had loaded.
Did the trick perfectly for me. The Oculus page wouldn't let me login via FB despite all my ad-blockers being off. I was trying everything to no avail and then decide I'd go turn off every extension and try again. I have a lot of extensions so searched to see if something could do this all at once. Voila! Worked perfectly. All extensions turned off. No tabs lost (seems to be a complaint with some other reviewers). FB login worked, clicked the extension again and everything back on! Whew. Thanks, Developer dude ! Well done.
useful. smallest size
Ask me 5 years ago if I would of moved from Firefox to chrome and I would of laughed in your face. So many plugins available like this one. Just missing multirow toolbar but I can live with that! EDIT: No. It doesn't remember if the icon is hidden from the chrome menu or not. 5 star to 1. Also turns on all the extensions that were previosly disabled. Just some friendly cristisim. if that was fixed then 5 stars once again.
This extension did the job, but when reactivating extensions, it didn't re-add the icons to the right of the url bar and stuffed them all into the overflow menu. This is not a documented side effect, though I do see some others mention it now, so it gets a 1 star unless fixed (which I doubt it will be considering it was last updated in 2012).
make Upgrade....if we proceed disable as developer...we need more internet and ram...So ..thats good ..but incognito does this too...make a a class....except ..xyz extention..in class A or 1(3c extension),,then...it better... i haveover 200extension..and 3x chrome versions and accounts to get work done..but even best ram and powerfull pc are not helpful..why..chrome still runs all app..parallel..an sucks all energy ..shall run on specific.sites..or..whens its a adblock...then in class A/1....80% of my resource are taking from chrome ..so i am always in incognito(then i lost my visits..dont remember so many websites...to get deep developer contents)...If u have more time...just do it..make new beta-version 5xStars4u
Antes funcionava, agora não oculta mais e nem mostra mais, BUGOU todas as minha extenções. Já desinstalei e instalei e nada, nenhuma fica visivel mais.
Perfect extension to quickly disable the extensions. Unlike in other reviews, for me, the installed theme doesn't get uninstalled. Also, closing tabs related to extensions should be an expected behavior when disabling all extensions.
Yes, it disables extensions temporarily. But it also deleted my theme, and removed the extensions displayed in toolbar when I re-enabled them.
Great extension, but with a few problems. One things I've found is that it removes all other extensions' icons from the toolbar, and doesn't restore them to their position on the toolbar when I turn it off. Other than that, it's great!
Amazing! It actually made my computer a little bit faster!
It worked for extensions, but it also disabled my theme without re-enabling it afterwards
Fast.
Good extension but sometimes it does not re-enable the extensions and you have to re-enable them one by one. It could be a chrome error but Im experimenting with another extension just like this to see if the problem is here or in chrome.
a handy extension for quickly troubleshooting broken websites if it's them or you. 4 stars because it never restores my theme and I have to go back to the store to install it every time.
ur thebests!!!
There was no warning that my theme would disappear and all extensions would be hidden from the toolbar. I just wanted to disable them temporarily, not move everything around and permanently remove my theme...
I love this! I use it several times a day. I have come to rely on it and hope I never have to do without it. Thanks!
It may work but it will break the theme. Try Extensity https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/extensity/jjmflmamggggndanpgfnpelongoepncg/related?hl=en
it doesnt remember the ones i want to keep enabled.
Like this extension, just wish you could white list some things such as my chosen theme, so I don't have to reinstall from the store every time.
i can disable them then i have to manually enable. just wont work for me.
It made me lose the theme I had, and I couldn't find it again. Wish I had read the reviews first.
Hardly ever works. Often it won't turn anything back on and you have to open extension and turn them back on yourself.
The extension does what it says it will do: it allows you to disable and re-enable the extensions you have already turned on. If you have a number of extensions already disabled, Disable Extensions Temporarily will not enable those extensions. There are two rather large problems with this extension: 1) If there are any tabs connected to extensions, those tabs will be lost when disabling all extensions. For example, any tabs touched by The Great Suspender will be lost when that extension is disabled. 2) This extension deletes any theme you have enabled. The extension does not provide the ability to re-enable the theme. Additionally, Chrome does not list previously installed themes, which means that you must go through the trouble of finding the theme you had previously installed.
Removes theme and extension saved next to address bar. Doesn't restore them.
It removes your chrome's colorscheme!
Removes design and temporarly ALL extensions. you can't adjust it to a specific extension
Toggles extensions on/off very well... unfortunately, it is also killing my 'Brushed' Chrome theme, totally removing it, so it can't restore it (getting to be annoying)... have to re-add from Chrome Web Store.
cool, worked for me, exactly what i wanted
nice and tiny! but after re-enabling all extensions, all extension icons that you showed with "show in toolbar" are re-hidden in menu. Not a huge issue, you just have to re-show them.
Out of 15 extensions in my browser, I always want 5 extensions to be active. But, when I click or use this extension button, it disables all 15 extensions and enables all 15 extensions. Ideally, I expect only those 5 extensions to be enabled back rather than all 15.
I like this extension as it helps track down offending extensions, however I didn't give it the fifth star because that's all it does, turn all extensions on or off and nothing else. For the fifth star I suggest making this extension flexible by allowing profiles which permit selection of specific groups of extensions to toggle on and off as this would make it amazingly useful beyond it's current capability. Some extensions are only used for specific tasks which do not need to be enabled at all times. I would like to flip some off and on when they need to be enabled only. Otherwise this is a great extension and idea. Thanks to the developer for making and sharing it.
WARNING!!! This extension closes most of your tabs in all your windows and removes all the extension icons next to the omnibox. Be sure to have Session Buddy installed to recover your tabs! Fortunately I did. You can drag the right edge of the omnibox (url bar) to restore the icons. It is a good idea but a very poor implementation. You click the button, you wait for all your extension icons to disappear, one-by-one, s-l-o-w-l-y, your tabs are closed behind the scenes, and the tab you are focused on disappears for a while, then reappears, and it doesn't even get refreshed—you have to manually refresh it! Then you have to restore all your lost tabs manually IF you are lucky to have a session manager that saved them for you. Then you have to drag the right end of the omnibox to restore your extension icons. What I expected was a simple toggling of extensions with one click. What I got was shocking and unsettling. Fortunately for me, I was able to recover from this desecration of my browser. There isn't a single good feature about this extension's interface.
Awesome, always wanted it, and suddenly found it! I use a lot of extension, and it does slow the machine! Now i can always choose to have or disable all, quickly!
It works very well!
Works very well for troubleshooting issues to determine if an extension is the root cause.
I was loving this extension until suddenly it started moving all my extensions to a drop menu on the right of the bookmarks bar rather than making them visible again when I click to re-enable them. The extension is now worthless, and that's a shame because I found it very useful when it was working.
lost my theme after re-enable extensions
Excellent works great!
I need to disable bunch of extensions at once and this extension does that job. Simple and true.
From time to time I cannot restore my extensions. No idea why. Reinstalling helps.
i have a Theme installed on Chrome. Everytime i use this extension it removed my Theme and i keep having to reinstall it
I lost both my theme and a bunch of open tabs. It did however allow me to download something that seemed to have an extension interfering with it. I DROPPED THIS TO ONE STAR. I came home and found all of my tabs lost there even though I didn't run the extension there. Yes, I know it installed and uninstalled itself when I did it at work, but it shouldn't have messed with my open tabs at home.
Nice idea, but it removes my chooses design after disabling extensions and it does not restore the design!!!
Does not reclaim the RAM being eaten up by the extensions I put on hold. That was the only reason I installed this.
I clicked the icon to turn all the extensions back on... and now all but one extension icon is hidden in the hamburger menu instead of visible to the right of the url bar.
It deletes your theme which is a bit annoying. Otherwise functions as advertised.
Exactly what I needed. Some webpages don't play nice with different extensions. Instead of going through my extensions one by one trying to find the culprit, I used this to disable them all. After I'm done doing my work on the webpage, I can easily re-enable my extensions.
Working.
I appreciate this SO MUCH!!! Thanks!
Thank you!
Would be great if there was a way to select which extensions are impacted.
Good idea, but sometimes restore state not correctly and deletes previous theme!
how to use it
Only complaint, if I have extensions turned off when I exit Chrome, I have to manually activate them when I run Chrome again.
This extension only does one thing, and it does it really, really well.
Flawless
Awesome, but they should make it so you can block certain extensions, but it is a good extension.
Clearing cache + Hard refresh didn't help my Facebook inbox load, but using this to toggle all extensions quickly off & immediately back on did!
Broke several sites including breaking the menu for my online banking. Not ideal!
well. i was stuck with a faulty extention which wouldn't let me change my settings, view history or do any personalization option! Thanks busterc
It's very useful. It works well.
This is a great idea, but often when I disable and then re-enable my extensions, all but one of my extensions *stays* turned off. Then I have to go through and turn every single extension on manually. :(
Works great to help me regain use of my computer when my browser starts freezing and locking up due to extensions running in the background. I love the fact I'm able to reenable the extensions I already had running before (and not by default restarting all the extensions on my browser, since I keep a few on standby) just by clicking the app again. I can safely get my browser going again without losing my work in open tabs!
Extremely useful when gmail and other apps hide the bottom line or two on my screen. I use this daily.
I'm quite the extension addict so this is useful to speed up the browser temporarily
I would give it 5 stars if it didn't delete my theme every time I disabled the extensions.
Works fine but pls add not disable chrome theme!!!
It disables the extensions just fine, but it also removed my theme which is not okay. Then when I re-enabled the extensions the extension bar is not returned to the way it was. I have to click and drag to reveal them. Until these items are fixed it is better for me to go to the extension page and click the one I want off.
Great Extension. Makes it so easy to stop all the other Extensions and speed Chrome up on some pages.
Love it. This is what I was looking for.
It works but with 1 issue. It reset the theme as well and I had an old theme that is no longer in the store so it was pretty hard to get it back.
Good but would be better if you could create 'groups' of extensions you want to disable. Sometimes I just need to turn a few off, not all.
I don't know why this isn't built directly into Chrome itself - but I am glad it exists!
Awesome extension, has works flawlessly so far
Good Day! I hope all are enjoying a pleasant one. I use "Disable Extensions Temporarily" (DET), several times every day. I use it mainly to turn off my other extensions for sites that don't get along with my Extensions. It's by far the most handiest and useful Extensions I have. I Do Not want to be without it, and, in fact, I'm looking now for a way to back it up, maybe get the .CRX file so I can have DET forever, just in case it disappears from the Chrome Web Store. To the DET people: Please don't let your creation disappear. It would be inconvenient to have to work without it. Thanks, John B.
Does what it says! Make sure you refresh the page after disabling them.
works great!
Works very well. I like the fact that it actually kills the chrome.exe processes for the extensions. One improvement, is to not reset the theme.
