Setting up is easy. But doesn't work or there is a massive delay defeating the very purpose of receiving urgent messages soon. After setting up the rules, I sent a message with the right subject line, etc., and I have yet to receive an SMS alert on my ATT cell phone after 10 mts.

Very useful. I'm a realtor. I use this tool to get a text message as soon I as receive an email from my clients.

Doesn't work. Added a rule (for another one of my email) to send text, text never sent, this was after giving permission and connecting phone number.

I added a rule to send me a text if I received an email from a potential employer. Today I discovered that somehow this ruleset was lost or removed without my manually doing so and I am now embarrassingly late responding to an interview request. Completely unreliable and costly.

*Just a thought* How about mentioning that this ONLY works for US and Canadian phone numbers BEFORE the end user downloads chrome, installs the extension, reads the Terms and Conditions and updates ones Google security profile and then has to unstall everything - Jus sayin'

Initially it was working well. but since last week its not working. no clue what the problem is. will the technical be able to help me?

For some reason, the system will not send a verification code to my phone (USA Tmobile) so I can't even begin to assess if the extension is good or not. Really want to give it a try...

Looked like a great feature, couldn't get it to work though. Keep getting "Unable to deliver" message in my Gmail with a link to an "Error 21408" support page stating that permission to send an SMS has not been enabled for the region indicated by the 'To' number". However when I look under setting in our Twilio portal the Netherlands is checked in the Messaging Geographic Permissions section. Been horsing around with this for quite some time now, consider myself fairly tech-savy but frankly if it is this time consuming and I still can't get it to work I have my doubts.

I'm a realtor and I use this SMS alert for all my top buyers. Best app ever to keep me and my clients happy.

I have not been able to get the sms extension working, due to a geo permissions error coming from a 3rd party Twilio. I have made sure that the phone numbers used were ticked on the geo permissions list. Have tried to get support on the matter to no avail. Can someone help me as CloudHQ does not seem to answer either. Thanks

Recently, I haven't been getting texts for some emails that I specified. Is this a new bug or has Google changed something to make the extension stop working? Aside from the recent problem above, this extension usually works great especially since IFTTT and Zapier removed their SMS alert functionality (due to Google's API change). One question that I have is how to specify entire domains instead of individual email addresses and is there a way to set up a wildcard for any "From" domain? One feature request I have would be to allow any valid Gmail search keywords to specify which emails to send to SMS - having only "From" / "Subject" filtering is a bit limited.

Nice to have when your work phone won't let you download the Gmail app. Never missing emails is a huge plus

It could be like that thing that notifies you whenever someone important hits you up so you don't have to keep opening your email and looking.

When I was job hunting, the SMS alerts were the best thing going for me. As soon as companies got back to me I could respond, and it made a HUGE difference in my hiring process. To HR I was attentive and invested, it got me where I wanted to go :-)

This extension is perfectly suited to those without smartphones. Those with smartphones, unless you don't use the mail app, I can see it being redundant. For myself, I need all the notifications I can get, or I'll forget to respond. I love this.

Here's how it works: you'll get an email telling you that you were emailed, what it said, and you get the option to respond. I did a test to see if my email would send, and if there were any weird HTML anomalies or anything like that. NOpe! It works really well, and if you'd like to be able to immediately respond to emails (and keep it regulated to just your desk save for emergencies) then this email tool is perfect for you.

I have my email notifications off, but I have these handy little SMS alerts on for when specific people email me. They work so well, haven't missed a single email.
