I don't often give 5 star reviews, because there's always room for improvement. However, I feel that Enpass' extensions for both Chrome and Firefox are well implemented. The Android app needs a little polishing, but it's more than serviceable. Enpass' entire "your data is never on our servers" design is so smart it's amazing to think that other password managers were written any other way. I bought the lifetime license, after using Lastpass (breached AND got monetization fever) and Myki (the software/company got purchased and the product was migrated to a closed project...I think?), not to mention encryption "vaults" for storage of my passwords via spreadsheets and other non-shiny methods, I can honestly say I've spent 20 years keeping my passwords safe in many many different ways, but Enpass appears to be the very best method (that doesn't involve me remembering thousands of passwords in my own head) to date. For that, I gladly give this review and the 5 stars.
Solid extension. Does what it needs to do.
Used to use 1Password and Lastpass. Was tired of those monthly subscription. Got a hold of a lifetime license and will not be ever switching back. Enpass works great on my iPhone and PC.
I randomly keep 403 to point hard get screenshots. I been working support for over 3 weeks but gotten no further with error. So far their support has been awful, the worse I have seen.
doesn't work endless process of syncing between app and extension and timeout error as a result
The extension will not link to chrome browser. Using Chrome Version 104.0.5112.101 (Official Build) (64-bit) on an ASUS running Ubuntu 22.04
Enpass Chrome Extension is reducing 32% performance in javascript (Chrome 103, #Windows 11, AMD Ryzen 9 Battery) only difference is the installed extension and not. Speedometer 2.0 results goes from 118 without Enpass extension to 80.5 with Enpass extension installed
Love that the app works, hate that the browser extension doesn't. I can't find the autofill setting so it doesn't do anything and the extension doesn't help me at all. This a chromebook only problem, it works on everything else I have
Does what it's supposed too.
excellent
Enpass for desktop is one of the best choices on the market.
Best OFFLINE Password Manager There are many password managers, this one is mine. Lastpass, Bitwarden, etc are great but I don't want online managers. This is the type of manager your Company's IT guy uses.
It even not-opening in 'Chromium' browser. Always gives following error message ................................................................................................................ Enpass app has denied access to data. Browser requesting the data is not code signed. You can share the following diagnostics with us at [email protected]. the update has broken the extension. The frame is mostly a red background, with the extension in miniature the top left corner. Please fix
The new update to 6.7.0 is amazing! It brings the possibility to fill in fields from a popup!
Great extension and great support. Never had a problem using it with Chrome and I've used it with Vivaldi and Brave Browser as well. Brave had a patch that blocked Enpass for a couple days, but Enpass reached out and it's already resolved.
As an extension, this works really well. Very easy to setup and integrate with the app. I've installed and reinstalled many browsers and never an issue. As an app, it's totally under my control. I can install the app on any device I own and sync across all devices when I'm home. My data never hits the cloud and I know exactly where my data is located. I've reinstalled Linux/Win/Android many times and never any limit on activation. I have to trust it's secure, but other than that, the app and extension just works. I've been using both for years now and not a single bug. App is packed with features and good price point, will gladly pay for it. Well done devs.
I've been using Enpass and its browser extensions for years now and it's consistently been the best part of my personal data security. This browser extension works perfectly and I use it on all my computers.
Often fails to start because it has trouble talking to the desktop app, even though it's installed. Has trouble associating saved logins with websites. No chromebook support? Just like the android app, the lack of updates is confusing. I would like to give a more detailed review, but i can never get it to work properly so i have given up. Edit - Still no Chromebook support. Congrats on that. No update to this ext. since Oct of last year. Edit. What part do you need me to elaborate on? No recent updates. No Chromebook support. Win10 support is extremely poor. I actually regret leaving LastPass for this. Edit. The windows version is not working fine. Have you used it. It often fails to load because it cannot find the app. There is no Chromebook support. I get that you are working on multiple platforms, but the fact is, this ext has not been updated since October of last year. Edit. There is no Chromebook support. You could start with that. Emailing support is a waste of time. I've tried. Edit again. Still no Chromebook support. Looking for a replacement. If you actually need a pass manager that works, don't install this. Edit. Still no chromebook support. Edit again. Still no chromebook support. Shocking.
Excellent. I love Enpass and I've been a user for years now before they transitioned. I love the system and although I had some issues like a year ago their staff helped me via emails and got it sorted out. Today i think it's pretty solid. The android version however i've noticed somtimes doesn't perform as well but with very very few exceptions
Great if it wouldn't crash constantly...
Brilliant. One time payment. For life. As most of you, I was scouting for some credible, secure alternative to LastPass and stumbled upon this.I bought iOS version on App Store app when each platform was sold separately. Was it worth it? Absolutely. After migrating to the subscription model, they've automatically upgraded my account to Lifetime Pro. ? Lovely service. How I use: I use Enpass as a backup along with LastPass Premium (which lasts till 2025). When my LastPass browser plugin had issues with 2-FA last month, this Enpass is what kept me going through. Thanks to someone who shared his experience of losing access to LastPass some time ago. Lesson: Whether it's LastPass, Enpass or whichever; don't rely on a single password manager. If you don't want to pay for multiple services, at least regularly take a back up with export feature. You may encrypt that with password on latest MS Excel. You won't regret. Back to the topic. When compared to LastPass, it's about 80% as good with filling, and this Enpass has an extra benefit that it puts your TOTP in your clipboard, so that you can conveniently fill TOTP with Ctrl+V. ? From the last 2 weeks, on one site, it's even filling TOTP and submitting it on its own. ? This company is not as old as LastPass and they are growing quite fast. I'm sure one day, this will be better than LastPass. One more reason I'm happy about, is that it's an Indian Company. You'll get the BEST at most reasonable cost. #AtmaNirbharBharat
Works okay in Chrome on Linux but doesn't work on Chromebook with Android app installed.
I have been using Enpass's extension for two years now. Always functioned as expected.
Moved from LastPass, perfect for personal or freelance use.
I like the app itself but they did not implement this chrome extension very well at all. The app has to be open for it to function, and if you close the app, it doesn't let you use Touch ID, so you have to type in the master password every time.
Worked good until recently. Clicking on icon does not do anything. Just showing message: "Enpass Assistant is ready". I am on Ubuntu with Chrome 79.0.3945.130
I think it's good.
I love enpass and recommend it to all my friends and family. Some of them even bought it and enjoy it. Works great on all my devices.
Working great for me!
What a great method to manage our passwords. One of the top class managers for password in the market with wide range of customization and rich features.
Enpass does what it says. There are a few minor issues such as saving password prompt not always displaying but other than that it works great. Recently I noticed that Enpass Chrome extension prevents chrome's built in password manager to save passwords. I would like to be able to save passwords on both managers. Could you please revert that?
This extension turns off Chrome's default password saving capabilities and disables you from switching it back on....
Honestly worked great until Jan when v6 came out. The extension is getting slower and slower. Sometimes it takes up to 5 seconds to respond. Sometimes it just doesn't even work. The developers promised the right the wrongs that v6 introduced but we're 4 months away from 2020 and it's still buggy as ever.
Never works.
Google chrome extension not working, if it connects to the Mac app often it's too small to read showing a large red box and only a very small blue box with the info... such a shame fix it please
Since last Enpass update, there are some visual bugs when accessing the extension (really small scaled with a red area or very large scaled so that you can not see anything) and sometimes not usable without restarting the application.
used to work perfectly on every single browser on my mac... now, the chrome edition is too faulty... I've already reinstalled many times. after using for some time, it starts "zoomed-in", not allowing to type, search, or fill-in anything... please, correct these issues, and bring back my beloved pass-manager's browser extension.
Strong and Flexible, Using enpass and importing my configuration from 1password really works. Well Almost I can't seem to get the Chrome Extension to automatically find the current website I'm on. I've enabled the ability for the extension to see urls. but you must manually search on the extension to bring up the site data. Needs to be fix before you can earn your fourth star.
It seem to have some display problem on the 1080p screen. It works well on my macbook retina screen, but on the external screen connected by hdmi, all of the extensions(including safari vivaldi chrome) have display problem
I love Enpass, but this plugin appears to be broken. Really frustrating as the plugin is basically unusable after the first use. Not sure what's going on, but it's driving me crazy.
Enpass v5 was great. I paid for it and recommended it to friends. I'm not a fan at all of the UI changes in v6 (v5 used looked and behaved like a native app), but I can accept them. The Chrome extension is worse though. It now shows "Looking for Enpass App…" for a long time before the login prompt, and then it forgets which site you tried to autofill on. I'm not sure if this is due to changes Enpass or Chrome did. The Firefox extension is still good.
Brilliant idea with storing data locally! And even more brilliant that I can choose a provider to synchronize my passwords across the devices! For now - amazing!
Doesn't seem to work or is terribly unintuitive... plus doesn't seem to have any instructions anywhere, which is the least I expect from an unintuitive product. I have a pro license of the desktop platform, but this seemed really useful (especially since competitors have it).
Works on all my devices, Linux,Android, windows ... would now be lost without it
Total rubbish. Simply does not work (at all). Waste of time.
Extension does not work on the latest version of the software.
Very good! thanks to the developer for this great app
I stopped using Lastpass premium because I love the enpass password manager so much. It's fast, secure and the developers behind it are dedicated. My only wish was that they added some two factor authentication steps to make it even more secure.
I have nothing bad to say about the app, does exactly what I need it to do... store passwords, on top of that I can store a lot of other items, passport details, bank details EVERYTHING! obviously the more i've stored, I've had to pay for the pro but a one of payment is not that bad for having all these stored and keeping log in simplified. makes it easier for my wife to access when she kills me :)
Works great on phone and on MacBook, but version 6 broken on my chromebook. Extension doesn't connect to app.
I would appreciate if the extension didn't require the desktop application.
This was a great password manager, but with the recent version 6, they tricked all of us into having to buy the software again. They are a bunch of SCAMMERS!!!!! STAY AWAY!
this is the best offline password manager,(keepass has many bugs , drop it.) . Lastpass and Bitwarden are best online password manager. But offline is the safest . Thank you my author. Enpass could be sync to your local . It's so freendly. Only one problem, when i open a website , enpass don't display it match the website.
Total bait and switch. Upgraded to Pro in a free offer last year and activated the app on at least 15 devices. As of September 2018, Enpass have started restricting these free "Pro" accounts to only five activations. The Internet Archive shows that their FAQ page on the subject was only created at the beginning of Sep 2018. Even though it was only $8 to upgrade, on principle I have shifted to Bitwarden which is open source, totally free and actually a better piece of software. Avoid this software.
still best sometimes a hitch but best
The general password manager is good, but it does not help much if you need to login in the extension every 5 minutes because it logout automatical after just af few minutes...
the extension uses more memory than the native background application. could you please optimize the resource usage.
I feel like whoever developed this plugin and the support for TouchID doesn't actually use it. Way too many clicks to get to TouchID, loses its spot if you copy a username and now need the password, needs re-login within seconds of using it previously, no real options in the options page. Generally needs a lot of UI improvements.
I've been using it for a couple of days and it's just as good as some of the paid apps out there.
I really enjoy this extension, but it has one annoying bug that afflicts me across platforms. On many websites and at seemingly random times, Enpass will "freeze" a web page -- I won't be able to click on form elements, links, etc. The only fix is to disable the extension, which instantly resolves the issue. I'd really love if the Enpass developers could fix this problem!
I've had an eWallet app for many years but the advent of online security breaches prompted me to look for a new pwd mgr. I chose Enpass because it doesn't use cloud storage managed by the developer but rather my own public storage after encrypting my pwd info via AES 256-bit. Nice!
Mostly a good extension. Initial setup was a bit finicky, but once through that using passwords and adding new ones has been smooth. A big feature i'm missing is the ability to categorise or add passwords to folders when saving them from directly from Chrome, i have to go to the app and figure out what's new afterwards.
Very Good Very Nice Very THX
A+
It just werks
I quite often have the problem that the Ctrl+/ shortcut stops working. I'm using a German keyboard where the shortcut is Ctrl+# due to the key layout. Not sure if it has something to do with that.
I love it! Enpass works great everywhere at all browsers and all systems even at my Linuxmint! What can I wish more?
Awesome! best way to save large amount of passwords
Fantastic app. Switched over from LastPass and am loving it.
Doesen't work at all in Chrome 58 for Mac, don't catch de new accounts and cant login in the old ones... :(
Stopped working all of a sudden!
I like the PC app, and the Android app is super. I love the fact I can sync to google drive. But this extension is a very weak spot. Can't browse logins? That's odd. Enpass if off to a good start but after using Roboform for 10+ years, Enpass seems half baked. Look forward to trying again in a year.
When it works, it's great. But it's a little intermittent at times.
Doesn't work at all.
It blocks my chrome.
When Chrome is launched, this extension steals focus from the chrome windows. This behavior is very annoying.
Does not work at all. I have to copy the desktop app and the extension, then copy and paste the password manually.
Can't export database to KeePass or other format... Once you start using Enpass, you are bound to use it...
When this extension works it's fantastic, but it only works about 10 % of the time.
I switched from 1Password. Enpass is exceeding all expectations.
Great app - does what it says on the tin. However, the autosave/auto-remember isn't the best. Eg, if I create a new account/password, it isn't always picked up by enpass, so you have to manually enter a new account in enpass. Also annoying that you have to have the desktop app and chrome extension app open at the same time - pretty pointless. Especially as the chrome extension doesn't always pick up an account/password prompt, i'm now usually manually copying passwords from the desktop app, into the browser. Therefore the chrome extension is pointless at best.
Since they started browser support now in Linux this is working great. It fills in more than a few sites that Last Pass has issues with like Rotten Tomatoes I completely moved away from LastPass now. They have a beta for Chromebook but right now only Chromebooks that support Google Play.
It was my favorite on mac, it is a nightmare on windows, I use chrome and the extention does not work on any windows browser. I asked for help.I send 6 email and it told me incomprehensible things.. to finish by the last mail telling me that there are restrictions on UWP application and that therefore it does not work ... and so that it does not I had to use just the Windows PC application ... A piece of advice .. Go your way and get you instead of Keepass
UI is not the best, but it does it's job good.
What is the point of having a browser extension if I have to have the desktop app open for it to work? To save myself one click to get to the desktop app? This extension really needs the ability to function on its own, without the desktop app.
It has always worked for me in chrome on windows 10 and mac os x.
Well, the extension is not too bad, but the main application is a disaster. Dont buy this crap, it cannot restore, crashes all the time, sync is not working too well...
very easy to use and helpful
Best password manager till date
Really its a good Extension , it works like a charm ♣♠◄
While it works, the target for typing your master password is either very small, or covered by another element. It is always a chore to retrieve my passwords. I'll probably be switching to a different service due to this.
Used it for a while but from last 2-3 days i am getting enpass error for extension where i cant get extension to work updated enpass to 5.3.0 tried removing and then again adding extension also checked settings but in vein please help me problem is same extension is working in firefox
This is really good password manager. It's UI is more modern than Keepass or Gorilla. It supports many export options.
i does not work on MAC OSX ..!!! it shows Enpass Connection Error! but it work in other browsers like Safari & Firefox...
Crashed when trying to import Roboform Windows HTML export file. I promptly uninstalled it.
The extension always said connection error although my enpass is working. Sad I plan to become premium but like this I don't think so.
does not work on Chrome OS
I have Error 403 Access Denied/Forbidden Browser's code signature could not be verfied.Filling and other features are disabled until this configuration issue is resolved. error message on Opera/chrome/FF
Doesn't work with SRWare Iron browser, that is chrome based.
It needs a lot more work as it does not work on almost half my sites. It does not recognize a lot of sites for which I have saved passwords. It does not even have the option to copy manually the user and password to fill in manually the fields. I like that the password database is managed by me, but the browser extensions are far from lastpass.
I switched from LastPass to enpass and am loving it. I'm a linux user, and having something similar to keepass with built in sync has been great.
Works fine. all good
