Still not patched for the google lens search changes. Use something else.
"Search by Image" extension by armin.dev works out of the box with Google and offers a lot more pre-built engines. Icon is also nicer in context menu :)
To support google change the google url in your extension setting from "https://www.google.com/searchbyimage?image_url=" to "https://lens.google.com/uploadbyurl?url" enjoy ??
It's been months since Google changed how they handle image searches and this extension has still not been updated to work with it, so currently only the other image search providers work.
cant support google image search anymore, please fix it :((
Hi, This extension is wonderful!!! I really like being able to change the engines it uses. You should maybe add links on the extension details page so people can add them. The only one that doesn't work any more is Google. Everytime I use it it either doesn't work or adds a word to the search of what it thinks I'm looking for. Any alternative Google url yet?
can't search google anymore
Please fix Google!
Please fix the google search. It is broken.
Was working fine with google images until a few days ago. The original URL http://www.google.com/searchbyimage?image_url= no longer works and redirects to https://www.google.com/imghp?sbi=1 You now have to use google lens and click "Find image source" to get back to the original function. "Search by image" extension has fixed this issue and hopefully can be applied here.
been great until now when google suddenly stopped working and redirects to imghp?sbi=1
It has less image search engines than its firefox counterpart. there's no yandex, WhatAnime, Ascii2D, ImgOps, KarmaDecay, etc. Please add the rest of them, very important when looking for hard to find images Edit: Please update it already, the firefox is on version 3 and this one is still in version 0 Edit: I'm having problems with the context menu disappearing, I needed to restart the browser just to see the option again. Edit: Google Image Search doesn't work, please fix
Worked great in Firefox, so added to chrome, missing a few options but straight forward to add my own. If you want Yandex, just use URL https://yandex.com/images/search?rpt=imageview&url=
I've been using this for many many years, but suddenly lately I now keep getting "Query Error... Results Shown Below may be Incomplete." Hope it gets fixed...
Great extension, but if I turn off the extension and turn it on again the context menu doesn't show up. So far the only fix I know is to restart the browser.
Why no yandex image search? the firefox version have it. Is there any reason this one doesn't?
BEST IMAGE REVERSE SEARCH SO FAR
I really want to add ImgOps search (https://imgops.com/) to this extension, but couldn't figure out a way to do it. Can someone help with this?
Yeah, pretty good but it would be nice if the results led to the images tab instead of the all tab
I've been using this up to this day. Really a life saver.
Super useful. Only Sausenao and google reverse search do the heavy lifting tho. IQDB and Tineye seam to be pretty useless.
Very useful and handy. Nice.
Love this tool. Very useful for Reddit - either tracking down the source of anime posts or searching for meme reposts via Tineye & Google.
Does exactly what it says. Works perfectly with Microsoft's Chromium-based Edge.
It's almost a non-issue, but.. the icon is basically invisible in dark mode. It's nearly irrelevant, since you don't NEED the extension on the toolbar at all.. but.. Otherwise it seems to do exactly what it says on the box. No more, no less. :)
Flat out just doesn't work with Instagram.
For some bizarre reason if you enable it in incognito mode it breaks completely and has to be re-downloaded
For Yandex use this https://yandex.com/images/search?rpt=imageview&url=
Great extension. Would be nice though to be able to search with local files opened in chrome
Current Yandex search prefix: https://yandex.com/images/search?rpt=imageview&url= Current Bing search prefix: https://www.bing.com/images/search?view=detailv2&iss=SBI&form=SBIHMP&q=imgurl:
doesn't work anymore, won't appear on context menu anywhere
Really great, but even if you allow it it does not work in incognito mode. If you try it breaks it for incognito and regular, and the only way I can fix it is a reinstallation.
very useful
Nice extension, very helpful... for those looking for more search option to add in this extension, try these: Yandex: https://yandex.com/images/search?rpt=imageview&img_url= Bing: https://www.bing.com/images/searchbyimage?cbir=sbi&imgurl= Danbooru: http://danbooru.iqdb.org/?url= Trace Moe: https://trace.moe/?url= Ascii2D: https://ascii2d.net/search/url/
Spent all day looking for sauce and this found it in 5 minutes.
Fantastic extension. I use it almost every other day. I have an issue with the ImgOps option, though. This extension can't use the ImgOps option for search because it replaces characters with things like %3A%2F%2F%2F despite the search function requiring the string to be literal.
Love the extensions. Anyone figure out the search string for Bing ?
It doesn't come with the same features for adding sites or the same base site list as the Firefox extension. I would like to at least be able to add them myself easily.
Not working today after 2 years of good service
Awesome extension and really versatile
Sure - I *have* been using it for a LONG time; and while the Google and TinEye search engine results do what they're supposed to, I never really found a need for the other two. So I switched to another Reverse Image Search tool where all *four* engines are more than likely to bring back the results I'm looking for.
Doesn't seem to work on UC Browser (which is Chrome based), most other extensions work though
works great thanks
Breaks when you enable it for Incognito mode.
Useful and helpful so then I don't have to type in saucenao.com and input the image there. However, finding Twitter fanarts seems to be the main issue
Very good extension!
Use it both on Chrome and Firefox. Essential tool for hopeless weebs
Good
Extremely useful, helps me find the sources for lots of art
This is the extension helped me the most! Thanks!
welp when someone needs a sauce be the sauce man
Great extension, which I have been using on Firefox before. Glad to see a Chrome version of it. It currently has a conflict with the Tab Activate extension. Wrote an email to the developer letting him know of the issue. EDIT: I just replaced Tab Activate with Simple Tab Order (which does the same thing and more), and it works without any conflict - so apparently, the "culprit" for the conflict was Tab Activate extension.
the reign of sauce has begin...
This is the best tool to source images. it covers a lot of bases at once and has helped me out on multiple occasions.
This is absolutely awesome! It's amazing for finding the source to fan art!!
ez & fast use
Great extension but needs more options like... I would like to add Yandex but unfortunately it requires to add "&rpt=imageview" at the end of the URL which i believe this extension can't do. It should look like "https://yandex.com/images/search?url=[IMAGE URL GOES HERE]&rpsearcht=imageview" If it were an option to mark where the image URL goes with lets say * and the URL would look like this: "https://yandex.com/images/search?url=*[IMAGE URL GOES HERE]*&rpsearcht=imageview" So the URL goes between two * symbols. Edit: Found out I can use https://yandex.com/images/search?rpt=imageview&img_url= and it works fine.
is there any way to add ascii2d to custom search engines just like what it works in firefox
Funny story, I was actually developing my own extension which would do just this, but then I discovered this and gave up. Wish there was an option to open the results in the current tab though... It's as simple as using the chrome.tabs.update() method instead of .create().
When you enable it in incognito, it doesn't work in that and in regular chrome. Uninstalling and re-installing isn't convenient.
Doesnt work when you switch it to work in incognito mode. When you switch back it doesnt work in normal mode either. Fixes itself after reinstallation.
Good, but it doesn't work with pictures posted on Google+
For whatever reason whenever I turn the function on for it to work in incognito it stops working completely... Other than that, it's awesome
Love this extension so much, been using it for many years now <3
GOOD!
Incredibly handy and makes finding sources and crediting artists super easy!
Great extension. The only thing it really needs is a wildcard-like function for reverse image searchers that don't simply have the image's url at the very end of the search link.
So useful, works exactly how it should.
Add Yandex and Bing by default, please.
Finally, no more copy-pasting links.
My chrome spazzed out and deleted all my extensions, this was the first one I keenly noticed was missing.. Reinstall gooo
it is ok. I find that the tinyeye is useless, the other option is also useless, and to get to google image search, you have to go down an extra level. so, I can't say it doesn't work. they have good intentions. but I really just want a simple way to do a quick image search. I think that the other databases (non-google) populate themselves when you do a search, and that their databases aren't very big. just my impressions. so for me, I am removing, and installing google image search. I want it simple, and to work. some some hierarchic menu structure.
Pretty much a must have if you often search for image sauce, especially for any 2d animu girls that may originate from pixiv, seiga, boorus... etc. Very simple and easy to use.
It used to be such an amazing tool...but now it's broken! Only Google shows up now, and I have it enabled... It really bugs me, since this tool was used almost daily for me.
Stops working all the time.
Useful and interesting
So much easier to find the source of the image!!!
Great use, I was able to check some of my photos that was being used by other websites.. Got them.
I use the Image Search Options just about every time that I run a search. I do use two other image search apps & my 3rd and final tool when I'm performing an image search is this Image Search Options. It's just nice to run three different sources when I'm searching images. This way allows me to be sure of the image search results on the image that I'm searching at that moment.
Works pretty well, and always nice to have one extension to search through multiple sites.
its good but its not as good as the firefox version.
Pretty useful! owo
Very useful, well built, and works perfecty. I'd give it 5 stars, but I don't like the way it opens the search on the last tab. If an option could be added so that the results show on a new adjacent tab to the current one it would be perfect.
Amazing, but I've checked through the settings and it's only showing me the option of searching the images through google? Oh well, it's a wonderful extension and other than this strange quirk, it works great
Amazing. Ever since I started using this, source finding became so much more simple. The base search tools you get are more than enough, but there are also others you can add to make the searching even better.
Refreshingly Different...Yet Surprisingly Refined!
This is my favorite extension. Not only can it search Pixiv and Google Image Search by default, but you can add other searches (such as zerochan, which can come in handy for doing source detective work). Perfect plugin.
im looking for same as this one but can search pic even in a highlighted text.
perfect extension, for me-- pixiv and google search is good enough
very useful! but need a clear big picture then only can find it from the web.
Nice plugin !
Best. Finding images from Pixiv and everywhere else.
All in one! NIce!
It's simple and does what it's supposed to do. A really useful tool to have at your disposal.
Very nice app~ It really helps me find unsourced art! However, I believe that the SauceNao Search only searches for art on Pixiv.
Worked perfect the moment I tried it. Actually finds images, unlike the Tineye extension. <3
Very good, I always use it.
anyone know the code for ascii2d?
excellent!
amazingly useful, simple, works great. recommended!
I do love this extension. Can you ether add the additional search engines the firefox version has, or add more other sections?
