This is the only easy-to-use tab suspension extension that does not read your data on websites.

This is a game changer. The browser company is doing this exact same thing but the beauty of Workona is it's an extension. This extension has single handedly let me stay focused and switch tasks properly. If you struggle with focusing on a task because of too many tabs, this will change your life.

I remember when tabs got introduced to Browsers years ago. It was a game changer. However, like most people I soon discovered that I had so many tabs open I couldn't keep everything sorted. I had work, entertainment and home related stuff all mixed together. Workona has completely changed that. Now I can keep many different subjects and projects separated. It makes finding things easier, and focusing on a task is so much more intuitive. Must have extension.

Workona is absolutely one of, if not the best productivity and tab manager for Chrome I feel like my efficiency increases immensely once it has been fully set-up. The only problem - the cost. There are not very many tiers of membership, so with the basic plan you're still pretty much all in at $7/month. The development quality is definitely worth this price, but I wish there was a lower cost option because some of the features are nice but not necessary. Other downside is the data use for advertisers, but this is pretty normal for the web these days. Overall still a great extension, and a great suite of extensions, but I bet there will be a browser that integrates these features and design language soon free of charge. I really like chrome right now, so I'm using it

The extra window sometimes gets in the way, but this is the only way to implement tab suspension currently AFAIK. So, all things considered, it's pretty good.

Absolutely love the workona apps they have been a game changer for the way I use chrome.

Reloads all the suspended pages like every 10 minutes for no reason, also the suspended tab is still a normal website with nearly nothing on it rather than actually being suspended.

When it works, it works, but I find that when I have enough tabs running, the little window that allows you to suspend tabs won't open. It will appear, but it will never load :(

Brilliant extension! just what I'm looking for. This extension is crucial for me especially on Chrome, suspending a lot of tabs that cause lag. i love that it has a dark mode and the ability to click on the tab to view it. Perfect extension and an even better alternative than The Great Suspender.

Loved this extension , i am used to opening a lot of tabs . Due to which , sometimes , my laptop starts to work slowly . At such time , i just have to press a simple button , and boom , the slow processing becomes faster . It literally helps me save a lot of time , as earlier , i would have to close tabs , whenever my laptop's processing would become slow . But now , this has become too smooth .

Workona has made me more productive. All of the Workona chrome apps are very useful and helps keep my various work spaces organised such as finance, web design etc. I especially like the ability to create a new workspace from a template for new clients, which gives me a list of tasks to work through. Feature suggestion for the iPhone app: Add tasks! I use tasks all the time and it would be very useful to have this feature available on my mobile device too.

I normally don't write reviews, but... This is an absolutely fantastic productivity tool that has changed my entire workflow for the better. It helps that there is zero learning curve as well, super intuitive app. I literally tell everyone about I know about this extension. Helps so much when I have little screen real estate and low RAM/need to save battery (which is all the time when using a laptop). I also really appreciate the ability to put grouped tabs in different workspaces. If you are all about efficient workflows and saving time, dont think - just get this extension! A feature I would like to suggest: Allow for pinned tabs to also be grouped within workspaces. However, I like some pinned tabs to be constantly present in the window whichever workspace I use (e.g. for music, accessing quick reference sheets/tables etc), so maybe if a pinned tab was put in front of the Workona dashboard pinned tab it can stay on every workspace, but if put in after the Workona dashboard pinned tab, it can be hidden when changing workspace?

Workona is awesome! After trying many many apps and extensions, I finally found one that works the way I do, in the browser. I don't have to work around the app, the app works for me instead. Keep up the great work!

The only improvement I can suggest so far is better management of tab groups. Besides that, it's awesome!

WORKONA and all its extensions are THE BEST—BUT I WILL STOP USING IT because of the RIDICULOUS COST to INDIVIDUAL USERS. The company should make its big money from charging firms/companies. If it allowed individual users to pay a one-time cost rather than a $10/MONTH SUBSCRIPTION (!!), everyone would use it and it would become the gold standard. I have too many subscriptions with Spotify, Netflix, etc, to justify spending $10/month on a tab manager, which I could use for free. Shame, it really is the best tab manager ever, and it's completely useless to me. You could even have a WORKONA for individual users that didn't have certain project coordination & premium features.

Great extension. Functions exactly how I was looking for. Workona is the only perfectly functioning tab suspender I could find on the chrome web store but there is one big flaw that stops me from rating it 5 stars and that is quite annoying. Workona requires a Sign-In to work, and the sign-in must be done quite often. After that, all settings are reset to default and must be redone. This is a huge flaw that prevents it from being much more amazing.

Great app. What I would like to see working better. Saving you tap more often like ever 15 min autosave. 2. I have the addon to same tab groups. However, it does not as it should. it might save one group out of 5. Also when resorting tab is places them all over the place making you have to move them all around and reform your groups. restoree should put it back as it was at the time of save. These are all negative comments. However, this is a great app it just needs some work to make it the best of its kind.

Amazing extension! Makes task management significantly easier as RAM usage is dramatically decreased with dozens of tabs open (tab suspension). Workspace separation of tabs also helps increase productivity.

The regular Workona extension is brilliant but unforunately I cannot continue using it because the 'suspender' extension makes me lose my tabs instead. It would suspend and unsuspend perfectly fine in the first few minutes but then if you leave it too long and go to unsuspend your tabs, it will not allow your tab to load and loose it. Very disappointed because I really wanted to continue using this extension but all my tabs were lost because of this extension.

It shouldn't require an account to suspend tabs - immediate uninstall. Use Tab Suspender instead. It has amazing feature set.

This extension is one of the greatest suspenders I've used so far. It just needs a "shortcut" feature and it will be the perfect extension.

It works well and I'm glad it also works with tabs from the Great Suspender since I have A LOT of TGS-suspended tabs saved in various Workona workspaces. The only thing I'd change is adding keyboard shortcuts.

I found confortable with its functionality and user interface - well designed. Yet when I click its icon, it requires about 30 secs to show the menu. I cannot bear that.

Workana has been a great solution for how I use my browser. From being able to flip between project spaces to shuffling tabs between workspaces, I feel like I can keep organized and focused on work and not trying to find where I put that one tab.

It is great not only to suspend tabs but to organize your workspace, set task, quickly get to frequently used websites and much more. I use this as with their tab manager and google profiles. For someone with ADHA it has a been a huge help.

Came across Workona and totally fell in love with it. Highly recommend!

This has been functioning great until the latest chrome update. When using the suspender button in the toolbar, the options to "suspend tabs in this window" or "suspend all other tabs" no longer functions. The only way to suspend tabs is to go to each tab individually. Not sure what happened here... it was working perfectly until about a week ago. (I'm using Chrome Version 92.0.4515.159)

Makes the use of my PC a lot better.

It doubles as a perfect "browser home page" / "new tab page" since you can have a workspace that always has all your most visited media for ex. Still tho, an option to have a homepage from which you can open some page without opening all other workspace tabs would be cool.

A Must need for any chromium browsers

I mean, it is a great extension, it does what it says what it is supposed to do, but, I come from OneTab extension and I was used to clean up my memory way more than what this auto suspender does, of course it worked differently bc OneTab deleted the tab and put the link in the page extension, therefore reducing more memory, but I think that if workona implements this feature it could help me way more than just suspending a tab and reducing a little of memory. Otherwise, it works as intended.

The Workona extension is precisely what I had wished web browsers had all along. I do a lot of online research. Over the years my bookmark file have reach multiple megabytes in size. I have used other extensions like OneTab that save my open tabs into a flat file in case of a crash. But even then, I have to use various web browsers because of compatibility reasons with the sites I frequent. Over those years some of my bookmarks are scattered across various chromium and mozilla based browsers. So I have to frequently look into a bookmark on Firefox so I can open that tab, copy and paste the url into Chrome or Brave. The technical issues with this is distracting. With the Workona extension, I can synchronize tabs across firefox and chromium web browsers and categorize them into different projects. This keeps me organized and focused on the research instead of fighting my computer and distracting myself from the project.

loved the workona tab manager, seamlessly doubles as a workflow manager. difficult to explain in a short review, just try it if you tend to work with several workspaces, it's genius.

This extension is truly badass. I'm using it in combination with Google Profiles now and it's truly powerful. I've been using Shift for a long time and there are some things about Shift that I do prefer, but I decided to switch because the combination of being able to have notes and tasks right alongside my tabs is unique and really simplifies my workflow. I'm a two time entrepreneur with a real estate business and a freelance web design/brand identity business as well as an operations manager for a YouTube channel. Needless to say, I'm pretty busy all of the time and I used to be a lot more scattered. Workona has helped me to narrow down the apps that I have to use and keep more of my stuff in a nice little package. Great tool! I'd highly recommend it.

A friend told me about Workona, so I gave it a shot and it's awesome! It's so much easier to suspend and open the tabs I need in the moment and not have 100+ tabs open all the time.

Great extension. However, shortcut keys would be very useful. Particularly for: suspend the current tab, suspend tabs in this window, suspend all background tabs.

Seemed to work fine until today, when my antivirus started detecting suspicious behavior in the extension: "Phishing and unauthorized information transfer". Might be a false flag, use with caution.

Excellent, hoping for more updates, I work on a few projects at the same time and it really helps. I really believe more can be put into to this. I have sent a comment about it awhile ago. When having more tabs than you need when ending your day, it would be nice to have only important tabs to start back up and the others to close, similar to the pin tabs. I am enjoying and loving this app.

I've noticed an accumulation of renderer processes in the Chrome task manager when this extension is enabled, whereas normally there is a single spare renderer process that seems to get repurposed for different sites. With this extension activated, the spare renderer process seems to crash and instead is replaced by a pile of renderer processes that get started but never automatically killed so it could get to the point of there being 10 of these renderers, which to some extent defeats the purpose of having an extension to reduce memory usage. I've noticed this with all extensions that use the native Chrome tab discard functionality.

I cannot begin to tell you how delighted I am with Workona in general and also with Tab Suspender. With Workona, i have been able to organize my business, personal, and online life. The only thing on my wishlist would be a way to link tasks to Google Calendar. That said, Workona is fantastic as is.

Looks like a bloatware. After installation it is trying to enforce registration on some rough site.

First off, I'm not sure why there is a separate tab suspender when the regular Workona Tab Manager claims that it also suspends tabs. But when I couldn't get Workona regular to suspend my tabs, I was told I needed the separate tab suspender listed here...except, it doesn't work, either. I really wanted to like this, and I hoped it would take the place of The Great Suspender. If you manually suspend other tabs, it does it for ALL open windows, not just the other tabs in the active window, which is frustrating. But the biggest issue is that the auto-suspend feature (which is what matters most to me) doesn't work properly. It will suspend if I set it to do it after 1 minute, but who does that? You could take 1 minute to read a short article! I want to set it for an hour. It has yet to suspend anything. I've tried setting it to 25 tabs max. Still nothing. So now I have two extensions weighing me down that aren't doing anything, and even though I have a lot of my tabs suspended manually, my computer performance is much slower than before when I was using The Great Suspender (and nothing else has changed about my setup except replacing it with these two Workona extensions.) I guess I'll have to look for something else.

The best alternative to the great suspender so far! I just hope it's safer than the great suspender was :)

Why do I have to create an account or login with Google to use it?

Have been using workona since the first moment we realised The Great had dropped its Suspenders. The company is legitimate, and actively growing a good product that in scope and usefulness is far wider (and IMHO far better) than GS was. Give them a break on the minor functionality they don't have that GS did have. They'll get there I'm sure, and they have a lot more for us than GS ever did. We're lucky to have workona - and they're responsive, for those of you who stumble on this in the future, believe this is an extension specifically made for ex GS users, just so it satisfies that specific use case rolled out in record time. You'll be missing out if you ONLY use Workona for suspension - especially if like me you've become bored of how that other tab extension - Toby - is getting slower and slooowwwwer, annoyed at how little integration between chrome and Google tasks/keep and frustrated that evernote web clipper seems to be most resource intensive extension globally.

It's good, but there should be option to disable suspending tabs with open text field and tabs that are pinned.

It's working well. One small problem: On our computers the Tab Suspender Settings page needs a vertical scroll bar. We can only get to the Save button by going full screen. This could become a bigger problem if more settings are added in the future.

Love it. Works exactly as described and is super simple to set up and suspend tabs. Been looking for an alternative to The Great Suspender since it got pulled, but I wasn't happy with any of the options I tried. Until I found this one.

Just got an email from Workona - why? - suggesting this extension as a replacement for The Great Suspender. Tried it out. It suspended a bunch of tabs but my browser is still using 3k+ of memory, and the task manager shows those tabs as active. So essentially this doesnt work. Google "The Marvelous Suspender" for a privacy-focused alternative.
