Best new page app.

Normally 5 stars, but for the last few days it doesn't work, it just leads to a blank page with no information. I have removed and reinstalled it, but it didn't help.Has this app been abandoned?

Using it in Ubuntu 20.04 - ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS. This is the SIMPLE favorite Icon manager. I recently left Lastpass for Nord - Nord doesn't have a comparable "Favorites" manager so this filled the gap PERFECTLY. Well done!

Perhaps it's a bug: It opens up the links inside other (already occupied) tab, instead of self or new tab. ? Recreation steps: 1. Open two tabs. 2. On the second tab, click on some ?. 3. It will open up in the first tab (instead of in the second)! ? Kiwi Browser (android) with tabs stripe (dpi 280 ?). ? Other related extensions that do work well: 1. NelliTab 2. Humble New Tab

I have been looking for this extension for quite sometime. Simple and straight-forward and works well, and most importantly - no ads and tracking like so many others.

The best tab page I tried till now. Simple and elegant.

Everything about this extension is so simple yet so powerful. And that it will sync across sessions is just stunning. From my desktop at work to my Chromebook at home, I always have my favorites with me and organized. Feature request: I would love to see the option to add a "divider" or a "section" to segregate groups of folders and icons and be able to independently sort within these sections.

Excellent tool, exactly what I was looking for. Now I have all my bookmarks with beautiful icons and folders on my new tab and start screen. Since it works with the actual Chrome bookmarks, they sync beautifully across devices. Bravo!

Great job. This extension is very good. So glad I found it. Many options to customize. I've only just started with it, but so far I only have a couple of wishes. 1. I'd like to add my own images for icons, rather than use linked web images only. 2. I'd like to set the clock to be 12hr, rather than 24hr format. Otherwise, very happy so far. Hope you keep on developing it. It's just what i was looking for, after removing another for hijacking my Chrome search provider.

The best New Tab / Quick Dial extension available! I've tried dozens, but this one is the winner. I'll list the pros and cons: PROs > 1) You can use your bookmarks folder instead of having to add bookmarks manually, and you don't have to create an account and give all your info to creepy shadow companies. The ability to choose a source folder is a must-have in my opinion. 2) Navigation is quick and easy. You can use back / forward to cycle folders, or you can use the links in the path bar at the top to go directly to a destination (this is by far the quickest way to navigate large collections of bookmarks). On top of that, it has a dashboard that you can use to access all of your essentials. 3) News Feed is awesome! If you have a bookmark to a site with a news feed (rss / blog), you can add it to your News list and access all your feeds in one convenient place just by tapping the News button. It also displays a number badge on the icon, so you know when there's a new story / article / post available. 4) Great design and layout. There's plenty of customizable options to tweak your preferences. 5) The developer(s) show a lot of attention to detail, and seem to be very devoted to their work. I haven't found any bugs or UI errors. There's even tutorials for everything in the "About" menu. Very professional. CONs > 1) the only thing that I can gripe about is the icons, mainly the inability to choose a custom icon. The favicon grabber works great, but some websites have ugly icons and some don't have any. It also needs an option to adjust the shape of the icons from rectangular / square / circular. (I do like the option to use a certain channel or station's icon, though)

Simple and useful. I wish the folders opened like on a smartphone: a smaller popup that closes on click outside of folder, instead of taking you to a diffrent page, but it's not a dealbreaker.

Woo-hoo, finally something to my liking. Although I do miss seeing the Google logo doodles. I wish the dock icons were centered and not dependent on the number of columns. Hopefully a future update, otherwise, this is what I needed! Thank you!

Loving it so far, would be even better if there was a way to blur the background and it would use daily bing wallpaper! It's simple, clean and works flawlessly with your current bookmarks!

Exactly what I'm looking for. Two things I had issues with. I couldn't get it to read the background image from my theme. It just stayed white. I just downloaded an image and used that instead, I got it looking nice. Other thing I couldn't figure out is how to change the color of the icons on the dash. I want to make them white so it shows better contrast from the background image I picked. Couldn't find any settings for it, hopefully I just missed something. Otherwise, very cool! Makes it easier to browse between my bookmarks and history, etc.

I was very happy to find this but then I don't get the point, it's just a copy of your chrome bookmarks, not selected favorites? Otherwise bravo for the quality UI and such. I believe I noticed a bug as well, drag and drop a folder A in another B, the A went to a subfolder of B.

WOWWWWW!!! Can't express my happiness in words when I got this extension. This was the solution I was looking for. There weren't more than 5 stars allowed otherwise I would have brought down the whole galaxy to show my appreciation for this extension. Fabulous job, keep it up!!! I'm your big fan now!!!

It would be better if user can set other view modes for different bookmark folders. For example, a list view for a folder containing tons of bookmarks where icon view is not highly demanding. Also, I hope I can choose to turn off the launch animation. And being able to drag and drop bookmarks to other folders on the navigation bar. P.S. Hope it can choose to use chrome native theme background as well.

Really good but.. I am mentioning weather again. Like, I do love the dash, but switch that with like the favorites under it on the same screen Oh, and also put a search bar under the time. I would like notes. Also those buttons on the dash? Add those too with the others.

Finally a crisp, simple, yet really useful start page that includes all your bookmarks. Not only does it make it easy to access my bookmarks but it's a really useful way of cleaning up and maintaining them as well.

Finally, exactly what i was looking for! Is it possible to rearrange and rename the bookmarks on the new tab page without changing the regular bookmarks bar? Also, is it possible to assign an icon for a bookmark folders? Thank you for this amazing extension!

An excellent solution for managing the new-tab experience, making it easy by leveraging a specific Bookmarks folder. It's just granular enough to customize the way I like it, but simple and well-designed enough that I don't need to tweak much and don't get overwhelmed by options. Well done!

Most beautiful solution for a new tab i ever used. And i tested LOTS of them. It also "allows" me to hide the bookmark's bar, keeping my setup as minimalist as it can get. I loved it.

This extension checks all the boxes I was looking for in a new tab page: minimal, stylish, and quick loading. One of my favorite parts about it is what it lacks: it doesn't have a visible search bar at the top (your browser already has one), it doesn't put a bunch of widgets on the page that slow it down, and it doesn't waste bandwidth downloading high res background images if you don't want those. The features that it adds are handy to have, like the built in RSS reader and popover button, but stay out of the way unless you enable them. One setting I'd like to see would be a higher contrast text color. The default text color isn't quite as dark as I like, which makes it a bit hard to read. I'd also like to see icon masks, namely for circular icons. One last thing to note is that if you're using this in a browser other than Chrome, you won't be able to purchase themes. This isn't the fault of the developer and applies to all other extensions, but it's worth noting as there doesn't seem to be any other means to purchase them. Overall this is a really solid new tab page. I'd highly recommend it to anyone who finds Chrome's default new tab page too slow or are tired of all the bloat in other extensions.

Very nice looking and no bloatware. Bookmarks are used from synced ones, not saved into an app which is another advantage!

I love it very much, but there is a little question: Can I just access the bookmark by pop up the icon on the toolbar ? and the new tab page ,I can use "toby" instead.

Really nice job on this... I tried out a number of the most popular new tab extensions, and I liked this one a lot more than all the others... It doesn't have some of the bells and whistles of some alternatives, but I love how easy it is to customize your new tab to just the way you like it. Also, almost all of the options in the settings are very useful. A few suggestions for improvement: 1) I'd like to be able to reduce the size of the icons below the current "extra small" size and reduce the spacing to be able to fit more on screen at a time. 2) I'd like the ability to have some sort of folder graphic for the background of folders and use a custom picture independent of the icons contained in the folder (so if I have links to twitter accounts in a folder with the faces of people as the icons, I'd like to be able to set the folder to show a generic Twitter icon over a folder graphic rather than the icon of the face of one of the twitter users as just one example). 3) I'd like the option to move the dock to the top of the page or maybe even along the left or right side of the page. 4) Related to #3 above, it would be nice to have multiple dock-like folders (for grouping different sorts of links with a unique background color (for example, I could set up a "Sports" folder with a red transparent background so that my eye could be easily drawn to that group of links, and similarly, a blue transparent "News" folder to draw my eye to that group of links, etc... These wouldn't necessarily have to be in fixed locations like the dock, but dynamically resize based on the number of links it contains, and snake around as the window is resized. 5) Have a small filter search box which allows you to your bookmarks (or at least a subset you choose to index). It would dynamically remove from view icons not matching your search term. 6) I'm not a big user of the news reader in its current iteration, but it would be nice to be able to add a link to access it more directly

Nice feature, but I wish I can use it while keeping my previous new tab settings. I mean get the favourites tab only by clicking the extension icon... not possible?

First of all, i want to thank you for this great extension. i love it since i discover it. I have a request if it's possible: 1. A theme with white text and black shadow text, on speed dial icons, i think would be better for either white/dark wallpapers and it will look nicer. I already tried it in CSS ;) And of course, i'll buy it. 2. Also, it would be nice to choose custom size and font, for speed dial text. Thank you and keep up the good work!

This is really good! The few things I want to be able to change that weren't available here: - A setting to make the dock and its icons smaller and to have the dock icons centered. - A setting to make hitting folders bring up a pop out window of the contents.

Finally I found an extension that do what I want.. Other extensions make you create lists and more lists of links that you want to save.. This extension gets your bookmark list that already exists.. You don't need to recreate them.. You just need to style like you prefer

When creating a bookmark in general, I hate that some favicons show up low-res or just default to a capital letter. It looks terrible. Please implement the ability for icon customization that allows me to choose my own icon in place of the default one. I tried using another extension like Favicon Changer to do this, but the two extensions don't work together. This would be the ultimate extension if this feature was added.

loved this so simple and clean just what i was looking for.......and then it happened......the new tab takes complete control and has started opening old tabs of websites previously visited when i click a link or open new browser window....example i open new tab and the last thing i did ALSO pens. i don't see or cant find a setting to turn this off nor do i want it. am removing until i get word this has been fixed....... and i was gonna buy more themes too. SAD DAY!

Just what I was looking for! Now I can easily access my favorites and I've also got a better use of New Tab page. I've found a small bug, though... The dock only displays the amount of columns you configure in the settings. In other words, if you have 10 favorites and configure to display 5, you're stuck with your first 5 favorites, there's no scroll or something like that.

Exactly what I was looking for! It's light-weight and supported by paid themes. It is sooo nice not to have to be pressured into monthly subscriptions. Excellent work.

I love this extension! I've tried a variety of start pages in Chrome and Firefox, and this one is my favorite by far. I use it on three different PCs, and it's great that it syncs between them - including all of the custom icon images that I used. I'll be paying for themes regularly to support the developer.

Any chance you could add option to display search box under the icons?

Chrome ruined the bookmarks bar by adding too much white space around icons. I use this to replace chrome bookmarks bar. My only suggestion would be allow a more dense packing of icons (more icons in less space) and have an option to display the url below the icon.

It may appear a bit daunting at first to configure, but this plugin is surprisingly flexible and functional.

One of the most deserved 5/5 Stars! So far, love the extension! Provides a Safari-like experience on all platforms (excluding mobile which, unfortunately, does not support any extensions). Single (minor) problem I have is that in Options-Themes it doesn't recognize me being signed into Chrome. Apparently, Chrome Web Store Payments are not supported in my country of residence. UPDATE CONCLUSION: Animation described below is caused by the Chrome itself; Marco (the developer, I assume) is very passionate about the product being it's best and is always ready to help. One of the most deserved 5/5 Stars! Thank you a lot for your help, Marco :) UPDATE: I strongly dislike how much more time does the new tray icon animation take (show favourites in pop up that is), especially the fact that I could not find an "off" button for it! UPDATE2: Yes, I do run Chrome on macOS. The animation I am referring to is the one that happens when I click on the extension icon until pop up is finally shown, it looks like the pop up is folding down from the icon. The reason I address it here is because in the last few days (which is when I have noticed the animation) the only thing that was updated is this extension - Chrome was not, nor was macOS. And I would rather keep the pop up option on - I do enjoy it, especially without an unnecessary animation slowing down my workflow. Looks pretty, but an on/off button would be great.

Showing bookmarks seems like such an obviously good way to use the new tabs page that I am amazed there are so few extensions for it (to say nothing about it being built-in to Chrome in the first place.) That said, this is an excellent implementation, simple and direct. Thank you for making my online life just a little bit easier to manage.

Being able to manage bookmarks through the interface of the new tab is an added bonus to choosing the contents of the new tab page.

Was really loving it until it started opening random tabs begging for a review. Well here it is.

Was using another quick start tab page - but didn't like the data collection. This app is clean and pretty simple to customize. edit 9/27 - excellent update with folder preview and last used folder. Love this plug-in even more! edit 04/2018 nailed it with the new icon editor - great work!

First impression / quick overview PLUS - to many to list, try it out for yourself, it's worth it PLUS/MINUS layout/ icons size search engine/ but no search form? feeds/ unsure how that works themes/ free themes without login into chrome account view/ actualising of folders and urls is done on the fly so sometimes (for the first time) it could take a while, better would be initial sync and then only the changes REQ - it feels like a file explorer, good, why not add a double click to navigate to the upper folder? - if the path used for navigation, why not give an option to size (bigger) the font of the path view (top center) - font color for the man section and for the favorites bar. plus, separately. E.g. grey font on dark grey bg looks bad

Awesome af. I don't ever rate but gotta show the support for something that really is worth it.

I have been using it for months and purchased a couple of themes too. Very well made new tab extension. Syncs well between different computers and very light weight too. My only request is to have the option to modify icons for bookmarked items. Sometimes a service I use, like Plan, Point, Toby for example, would have the word get in the beginning of their url. like getpoint, gettoby, getplan and so on. This would give the bookmark an icon with the letter E rather than P or T. I wish there was a way to correct this. Thanks.
