So straightforward to use.

Is Chrome Audio Capture responsible for turning my heart and mind towards all the beauty in the world? I can't say for sure, but I like this extension enough that I want to believe it is an angel announcing the return of the King (not the one from LOTR, but that one will probably tag along, considering the might and awe that is Chrome Audio Capture). It sometimes works fine but most of the time when I engage the extension, the audio gets pitched up and gets crackly and even gets captured like that. I'm on Windows 10.

I'm a new user and I'm having an issue with the sound quality during playback. When I play back what I recorded, every few seconds in the audio, I hear a tiny "click" or a "speck" sound. I don't see anyone else experiencing this issue, but some help here would be nice. I don't experience this issue when listening to any other audio (e.g. YouTube, music, web calls). Just the playback after recording using Chrome Audio Capture on MP3 quality on "high" producing the issue. I've tried on this different quality settings and also tried starting/stopping record with only hotkeys, but the issue persists.

It works! Be mindful that the captured audio takes up a lot of memory prior to being encoded and saved to disk. I note that in case you disable the 20 minute limit. I don't think there is any encoding "on the fly"

Super easy to use, works beautifully.

Does a better job than any desktop software. Every time I've tried to capture streaming audio it has been a mineable task, until now. I do have one suggestion; I wish we could preset the duration ourselves to longer than 20 minutes after selecting the override and acknowledging the warning.

The recored music is excellent when it works. Most recordings are good for the first 3 to 5 min. Then it becomes distorted or garbled. I have a few that are good for the full 20 min, but most are not. What am I doing wrong?

It's surprisingly really easy to use, super accessible, the files are clean and the audio is clear too, good job.

Did what I wanted it to do perfectly. Only suggestion is to make the start and stop recording process a bit easier. There are shortcuts, and that may be the answer, but would like a button that sits on top of the tab I am recording.

It was great while it worked... but i came to my PC today and did the same thing, but now every time I press record the Audio starts crackling and cutting out for some reason... then I press stop recording and audio back to HD... not sure why this happens!

Great audio capture

Decent; helps me with projects I do for fun, as well as creating videos. My main complaint is that the feedback will sometimes slow down or speed up, and it will start crackling horrendously. I've just reinstalled it, but I don't know if this is an issue on my end at all. A proper fix would be great.

Great idea if it worked flawlessly. Twice now, I've tried to capture audio off of YouTube & twice, the captures have a crackling sound throughout the track, rendering it unusable. When Googled, others are experiencing the same issue. Hopefully a fix is forthcoming.

Never found the output file even using a master search of my whole computer. No indicator anywhere as to path or how to change it.

SERIOUSLY not even ONE users mention that it has NO OPTION to select a Path to where to save the export file? What kind of developer ignores to have this basic function in ANY software?

Just what I needed. So easy to use. If you want to capture more than 20 minutes check the "Remove capture limit box". I tried to change the 20 minute time to the specific time I needed but it just swithched back to 20.

I love addons that do exactly what it says. Now the only recommendation (not a big deal) is the option to be able to change the shortcut keys would be very helpful. I hate holding down 3 keys to start and 3 keys to stop. Not a big deal because the addon works great.

Easy to use and does exactly what it says on the tin! Audio quality also great.

Using this on a chromebook and it works very well. You can navigate away from the tab where the audio is being recorded and it still captures the audio. Haven't had any quality issues with the resulting mp3. Seems to be a really good extension. Thanks!

Great tool! Added the extension then immediately used it to record a BASS guitar lesson riff so I could practice while offline. Loved it! no distortion and clear as a bell.

I'm getting tired of the audio disorting and crackling when using it... I used to use it fairly alot when it was working but since it broke, I stopped using it as the disortion would make the audio in my projects sound weird and wrong. I wish it gets fixed soon but I'm losing hope on it...

worked for a while. Then half the time it would not encode the files. Then it completely stopped working.

A bit unstable. Sometimes, with unknown cause, the audio captured and saved become unclear, broken, and staticky. I have no idea how to fix it.

Extension doesn't continue capturing audio when you switch tabs, which is a deal breaker for me.

works well but ... if it just had a timer. doing an eleven section recording of one hour each, you are fubared if you forget to stop it. other than that, very pleased with it. it does seem to crash more than I like, could you make the recording window NOT hide after it has been running? thx

Using this Chrome Audio Capture extension, I was able to record an audio speech file of 56"43' (56 minutes & 43 seconds) duration. The Options Webpage for the extension said the maximum time was 20 minutes, but I checked the box labelled "Remove capture time limit (not recommended)". After saving the capture file, I replayed the beginning and end. It seems to have the full 56"43' and the audio quality is certainly better than acceptable for speech. Mind you, I ran this on an IBM-PC with 32 GB of installed physical RAM, so it might not work if your PC has less RAM than that. Total size of recorded .MP3 audio file on hard drive: 129 MB (136,159,232 bytes).

I captured something on screen. Up until I turned on the capture plugin, the audio was clear and crisp. As soon as I started the capture the audio turned staticky and garbled, and so was my recording. Unusable for me!

I've been using it to record drum tracks on an online drum machine and it's helping me a lot! I definitely recommend it.

At the 30-second mark of every recording, the audio becomes distorted and sped up. It worked great until now, but this issue makes it unusable.

I'm so tired of this extension giving me crackling audio every other time I need to use it. To this day I don't know how to immediately fix it. It just... randomly goes away after a long while. Seems like a lot of other people have the same issue.

me too. Been using it for a couple of years but as of a week or two ago it is broken. First few seconds OK, but then distorted, skippy, sped up. Feels like someone at Google decided to deliberate phuck with it. I hope there will be an update because its a very handy app.

I used to use it all the times.Been using it for years without issue, but something has changed recently and all my recordings are distorted about 30 seconds in. Can sadly no longer use it, even after a reinstall.

Awesome extension for audio recording and convenient when using text to speech

So far so good. Very easy to install and use. I've captured up to 60 min of music using the lowest quality without any issues so far (AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 4750U with Radeon Graphics 1.70 GHz with 16G of installed RAM)

Convenient, efficient, helped me a lot.

As a blind ministry podcaster, this is neat and works well for what I need. Just by pressing ctrl+shift+S to start, and ctrl+shift+X to stop, I am able to use it for the voice overs I need. It is so much easier than having to go into a recording software and trying to work with an open browser tab window at the same time. Audio Capture Chrome extension allows us to stay on the same page, in the same tab, and takes away the guess work.

my experience is not great and rather frustrating....yes easy to use but the audio quality is bad, files is crackled, the speed unstable.....its unusable....dont know if my old computer might be the issue?

Amazing. I've used it so much. Only complaint is the hotkeys not working but I don't use them anyway so not a problem.

Excellent extension. I've removed the recording time limit and I've had ZERO issues. My ONLY complaint is I've had to redo recordings after accidentally clicking "Close" too early. Wish there was a confirmation or something so that didn't happen. Protect me from my own stupidity!!! Otherwise this is perfection.

Great shortcut to have. When you want the audio from a web page you are visiting, just a simple click of the button and voila, you've got it for your own collection.

I find this recorder more than sufficient for recording lectures for class and audio from videos. Although I don't use it on a daily basis it is nice to have the tools I'll need for recording.

Lightweight extension, intuitive interface, high-quality audio - this is absolutely perfect.

Used to work perfect, now the audio distorts and crackles.

I haven't compared with any other audio capture extensions so I can only comment on Chrome Audio Capture. As a musician, I am constantly learning new songs or reviewing old ones or sampling voice or music snippets. For my uses, this extension is a godsend. Works extremely well and is simple to use.

I've been using this extension reliably for years and love it but the audio I'm trying to record has started crackling and distorting as soon as i hit record on the extension. I've removed and reinstalled the extension but it hasn't helped. This is on a couple of websites, including youtube.

Saved my life!! Ok it didn't really save my life, but it allowed me to download Free of Will by Mickman before it randomly got taken down from Soundcloud when stupid mac doesn't allow recording desktop audio. 5/5 would strongly recomend!!

Simple and basic and exactly what I was looking for.

it's pretty good. the interface is 1 button, which starts recording the audio. Then it changes to 2 buttons that read "Save Capture" & "Cancel Capture". They do as the name describe. Yeah, this extension is solid.

Simply amazing! EDIT: After using this! Love this ext BTW, Some suggested improvements: Would be more awesome if the windows closed automatically after completing an action. Both the result tab, and the ext pop-up window after starting a recording, and after successfully saving a recording. This would save two mouse clicks and some annoyance, and make this ext truly amazing.

The downside is that you have to start and stop the recording manually. The upside is that it actually works without having to adjust a bunch of settings every time. Thank you for this tool.

audio quality was ok but gliching and teared sound

This extension has been so helpful retaining some audio files I couldn't otherwise. Super helpful and the quality difference isn't discernible. It sounds perfect to my ears. No complaints. Love this extension.

even though it warns not to disable the 20 mins record to be unlimited, i've had no issues at all recording audio over 1 hr. great lil app.

Does what I need! One we issue though, I'm not sure if it's just my device but sometimes once your done recording it wont render the audio for you to save it, kinda annoying but non the less. Great app!

I'm disappointed. 1. I couldn't hear any audio in the recording. 2. There is no pause option for a short pause / resume purpose. Suggestion: Please add this. I will appreciate if someone else who has solved this would share here
