This is a fantastic extension, I'm sure I'll figure how it works soon! Just kidding, I'm using it mostly to transcribe and translate foreign language videos and with its integrated sound compression it captures everything easily and extremely well. I bought the pro version recently and I am perfectly satisfied, great investment, great product.

It didn't do what I wanted, but it's still pretty amazing. This is a fantastic extension that is incredible if you need to control your browsing by voice and don't have keyboard or mouse use. The only thing that messes it up is if you start clicking somewhere else or in another tab, because then it gets lost and you can't control anything. Really I just wanted to be able to click on forms on a page and be able to enter text from speech in the text box, but this won't do that. Still I give it a 5 for all the other amazing features. Hopefully in the future it might become a little more context reactive and adaptive to clicking somewhere else. I don't think there is anything else like this out there.

Super easy, no real set up, super affordable. Accurate translation for the most part. rarely have to correct it. Mostly learning or knowing how to speak is my problem. Microsoft speech recognition sucks. This works 10x better. and all the other programs are expensive and complicated.

This is world class. Dictation is highly accurate, customizable, and ready to go out of box or customize for a great experience. This app prevented me from going on disability leave at work when I lost movement in both of my arms. It is a miracle if you learn how to use it correctly. It saved my arms from further damage. everyone should experiment with it! excellent documentation and developer is very active with support and updates as well!

not user friendly, cannot auto detect a spoken language.

This extension is great - the recognition is very fast and impressively accurate. I've never had better results than these even from programs like Dragon. The built in commands and ability to create your commands are very robust as well. All in all a very useful tool even for the free version, and an excellent value for the full version.

Was super impressed with the speed! unfortunately it didn't work within Outreach.io which is where I would primarily use it. I have a feeling it has to do more with outreach than it does with this product as I've had other issues with outreach and voice to text software.

I just started using Speech Recognition Anywhere ("SRA"), instead of my Dragon Naturally Speaking ("DNS") program license, because of SRA's low draw on system resources and memory. ... and I am very pleased with it thus far. It seems fast and it works in Google Docs, which DNS doesn't do, unless you're willing to use the cumbersome Speech Box utility. If I am able to train SRA to spell my name and various other things correctly, I think I'll be a very happy camper. The price for SRA is very low for the value.

Absolutely fantastic extension! Extremely easy to use and very customizable. And if you choose to do the paid option, it's totally worth it.

I paid for the advance features a couple of years ago and it has worked GREAT. Now it no longer works. I am disabled and I depend on this extension every day. If you are unable to fix it I request a refund so I can get something that will meet my needs. Thanks.

I bought this ext/app several years ago and I have loved it....It failed today...I think it's over. Bummed. No matter what, I can not get this thing to work.

Hi, looked promising but despite no indication at all in description that this is a fremium package.. As soon as I started to test use; I see a big FREE TRIAL! Why is it this way.. Also the app gives an error "Error: OAuth2 not granted or revoked." despite I gave the Permissions: Read your browsing history Read and modify data you copy and paste Know your email address What else do you need?? Also, your support page explains the above OAuth2 prob. as: Sign in with your Google account. Make sure Sync is on. Click on the extension icon and click on "Settings" scroll down to License and click on "Check"... and on and on.. WHAT SİGN İN? WHAT SYNC? ALL I wanted to use this is to dictate using TinyMCE.. What is all this fuss??! I am using many extensions and trying many many.. Never seen all this hassle!!

I have used this extension for a couple of years now. Given that I do all my email in Chrome, it is a great time saver and a super and a super value.

Was working great but this week started to disable playing videos on any site. Youtube videos say audio renderer error!!!!

What's the difference between spech recognition everywhere and spech recognition everywhere 365!!! I purchased the first version 2 years ago and now this one is coming out under the very same name but just you have to pa it again... What's going on? Is this fair?

Awesome extension!!?? It works great and has A LOT of stuff!?? Two small issues, though: 1. Despite choosing English US, it always writes in English EU. Example: instead of "color", it writes "colour", etc. Very annoying! I still have to use the keyboard to edit the text, which defeats the whole purpose of VTT... BUT, this is Google's API issue, not the extension's issue! And it's related to your physical location in the world, aka the Region you are in. 2. It has to always stay open as a Tab, in order to work. Yes, you can Pin it to make it very small and to auto-open with Chrome. But still, why... Despite all of that, it is an excellent extension and I fully recommend getting the Full Version! It gets updates regularly. Oh, and it has a "forum" where you can report bugs or ask for help in using it. The creator is pretty active there, and happy to help. Maybe... Probably... :P

Can I use a voice command to switch the language input?

After being diagnosed with wrist tendinopathy in both wrists due to repetitive use at the office, I struggled to use a computer like I had previously. After finding the Speech Recognition Anywhere extension, I was able to use Chrome on my computer almost like normal. I love this extension because it's easy to learn the commands, which are pretty intuitive. The commands are also organized on the extension's page. You can also customize your own. This extension has given ability when I was temporarily disabled! I'm also planning to use it once I start working again in case my wrists start hurting. I tried Nuance's DragonSpeak twice, but had technical issues with the mic each time and probably spent around 10 hours with their tech support resulting in no solution. DragonSpeak recorded my voice inaccurately and the commands were non-intuitive. This product is so much cheaper and 100x better. It's great for anyone who has trouble using their hands due and will improve your life. :) Try the free version and see for yourself!

Didn't work with Google Chrome in Linux; repeatedly opened audio device

Is it supposed to DO something? I am in chrome; I see no menu, no start; in google docs, I seen no text when I speak. Even Windows speech does something.

best . BUT using with new Edge chromium based browser ( able to install ) . or they changed it recently to that. And bing. BUT its not taking or working in those bars or browser . Dont seem to work. can you look into that thanks !

This seems to work well as long as I'm in a text area. Google keep and Gmail integrate quite well. Places where it's a textbox, like Facebook, etc, seem to have trouble both with dropping words, and capitalization.

I really like this. IF you make a desktop version for windows, that allows me to speak into any app, like a chat room app that runs from my desktop, or a document or my note taking app " Notion " . Then I would promote the heck out of this app .

as a physician, who for a decade or more, was having to use a 2000$ dragon medical dictation software and install, re-install, update, upgrade, etc and have onsite and online support many times, not to mention expensive microphones for each setting that had to be set up, re-set up, etc., this has been a true blessing !, i had a previous list of macros and templates i had created for dragon that i simply implemented into sra, and with jeff's help, was able to simply transfer them into the app. VOILA!, now since i am fully integrated into google and chrome, i can use "anywhere" i am, at the office with my pc and pixelbook, at home with my pc and pixelbook, and "it just works" !, set up. speak into the devices microphone and you're ready to dictate ! thx jeff ! dan s

not good, and pricey for all the limitations

Sadly this extension joins the long list of transcribing apps/extensions that just don't cut the mustard. Too many frequent error. Does not automatically add full stops or other punctuation causing you a great deal of work post transcription which is precisely what you want to avoid.

how do i get it off ? its not enabling a delete from chrome option its getting me blocked signing i everywhere and the computer is getting mixed messages how dio i delete this app .

I'm dictating this. And putting the most glaring errors. In parentheses. I was seduced by this add on when it first came out. it seems like a great idea because! I like to write the way I speak. But it's been loaded with glitches. Ever since I got it. And paying for it didn't make it any better. Annoying things like. Adding oh. To the end of phrases. But (that) you have to go back. Elite. (delete) I'm (and) getting entire passages of words wrong. And sometimes it will get an individual word wrong. And you can go back and pronounce that word. (I spoke "again and again and it didn't pick it up) As articulately. As possible. And it won't change the word. That it has put up. Or sometimes it changes. (the word to ) Another word that you didn't intend. No matter how you. Pronounce it. Now I see that I have turned on. Punctuation. And it is adding. A period every time I stop a phrase every time I take a breath. Also, in long messages it works slower and slower the further you get into it, far slower than I type. And (it) makes more mistakes. . In the end it ends up taking more time. To dictate something using this. Then it does to just type it. Because. Up (of) time spent going back and correcting. It's mistakes. Like that is supposed to read. Because of the time spent going back and correcting its mistakes.. So, I'll stop the punctuation so it'll quit adding a. Every time I stop speaking. But I don't really know what to do about all of the errors that it makes? Paying for the full version. Didn't change anything. I'm very disappointed. On the one hand. It's a great idea! On the other hand. It's so flawed that it takes more time than it does typing. By the way. My laptop is an intel. I7 8550u chip. What's (with) 12 mags (megs) of RAM? Running upgraded. Oh, that's supposed to be updated. And you see it added oh, windows 10. and up to date chrome. And I'm using. A handheld. Vocal singing microphone. That is almost as good. Has (as) my shure sm58. I've tried it with that microphone too and it makes no difference. I use this one because it has an off on switch.. The volume is up high enough. That I can speak. 10 inches away from the microphone. What the tendency is. It starts making so many (mistakes the tendency is) To hold the microphone right up to my lips. And it makes no difference either.. See ,that was supposed to be no difference either. (it's refusing to add the word "way") Any ideas? I compose this in gmail.. Using the add-on. To highlight the mistakes. So now I'll copy paste it. As is. So it's not only ends up taking longer (and) it adds to your frustration. I've gone back. And read this three times trying to correct. (the) Mistakes. And I'll bet I still didn't catch them all.

Sadly, this is only a free trial. Regardless of whether you want a free version or not, there is no free version. Also, I am dictating this review using Google Chromebook's built in dictation, which means that turn certainly is a way to make it work in every single box. Free, forever. My advice, just invest a little on a Chromebook and you'll have a limitless voice to speech dictation machine.

After a few days of searching Chrome and the web, I've settled on this extension to use for speech to text. I love it and it appears to have AI (or I'm speaking more clearly) as its repeating my words more clearly each time I use it. I just have one really stupid question that I can't seem to find the answer to : after finishing a sentence with a full stop and then space, What is the command for starting my next sentence with a capital letter please (blushing in embarrassment lol) PS Just off to buy the full version. Also, I don't mind having it open in every Window. I always open new windows with Twitter followed by Youtube subscriptions page and i'll just add this one next. Thank you Jeff, awesome software!

I was excited to learn about this extension, but it appears my expectations were excessively high, in part due to the name including "Anywhere". The speech recognition only works for me in a Chrome browser window. Furthermore it only works for me when the tab is in the same window as the Speech Recognition tab. (I usually use many Chrome windows.) The extension worked well when using Google search tab in the same window. On the other hand, I ran into issues using it even in the same Chrome window, including this review text. This is not what i expected based on the description, "The speech you speak is automatically typed into any form on any web page handsfree." I'm a fan of the developer's concept of leveraging Google voice to text and would love to switch from Dragon Naturally Speaking. I hope i'm doing something wrong or that there are workarounds, such as disabling other software that interferes.

Hi just got this extension and it seamed to work well when I was talking... but my need is to get typed vocal recordings Ive made... I couldnt get it to type anything from my recording... is it possible to get your text from a recording.. It was from my iphone 7 recorder( if that makes a difference.) Thanks for your help..

Ok, can I just say, "Holy SHIZNIT!" I will be purchasing the full version ASAP. Just installed to test if it worked on a few specific tasks and it's phenomenal. Way better than Cortana (which I have disabled btw). It is 10 x's faster than Dragon Assistant (free version of Dragon, I don't know about their paid version's function). I love you sir! THANK YOU THANK YOUR THANK YOU. And I thank the Lord above for guiding me to this extension. I have bilateral nerve damage in both my wrists and elbows and one shoulder. we All enjoy this extention very much its literally the best one there is though i suggest it being completely free because money is the root of evil And everything techwise Always has something to do with money but Anyways id really like An Android version of this keep uploading more videos on youtube cause enough is never enough do An Alexa video of how it works with that phrase And even cortana since they All Are from search engines converted to voice words

Absolutely fantastic app!, The speech to text is very accurate and quite honestly better than almost every speech to text app ive used for chrome. I am using this to help fill in forms on medial tasks for my online job and it just makes it so much easier just to speak it instead of typing.

Is there a hotkey way to activate. Did not see, but would like that!

does not work 100% of the time ...the custom commands work fine ....when i click to buy it shuts down all windows . It is not working to write this review . I tried an e mail , fist time it worked 5 minutes later same web site , it did not work ....all the words that was spoken went into the "subject " line I think it worth the 10 bucks just for the custom commands stopped working , will not get passed " initializing " just does not want to work in any window , was not very accurate .

Won't work in Linux, despite instructions at bottom. I can see the instruction page register the speech, but when talking into a form in another tab, zilch (dol efast Forms 5500 website, govt) Maybe it works in Win7? Sorry about the 1 star, will re-rate if I get it to work at least in Win7.

The voice recognition is fast and pretty accurate, so I'll probably continue to use this. However a bunch of things aren't perfect. It won't work in other tabs unless you have logged Chrome in into your Google account, which I prefer not to do (but I did do it for this). It won't work with websites are being run as apps (ie saving a shortcut with open in new window selected). It doesn't seem to work in Gmail either - it will transcribe one sentence but when you start talking again the focus has switched to the search box. So great start but not quite there, at least for my workflow.

It's really impressive; I'm going to try to get this paid for by the company. I've only used briefly so would need to get used to the commands and things. I'll upgrade 4 to 5 stars if all is well. Good work, incredible how this (and Google's default app) can be so accurate without it learning one's voice!

i have upgraded, but it took a while to activate. You should expect that it will take 24 hours, or you may have to restart your computer. Then it works quite well. The developer is also very helpful, and I've worked out how to get around the few nuisance aspects that might bug you at startup. Specifically, if you say "play a game" it will direct your browser to a google search, and look for a song called "A Game". You can override this with custom commands, so it doesn't matter. A general familiarity with regular expressions is useful, so it's better for techies, but novices can still use it no problems. You can have this open in one window, and do speech recognition into another one. That alone sets it above the competition. Impressed.

Works fairly well, I would reccomend this app, it doesn't always recognize the commands, but it works better than all the others I have tried so far, unfortunately though it costs money, and I would not pay the outrageous price of $14.99.

I like this, but it does capitalize random words in the middle of sentences, and I am NOT looking in the actual speech recognition tab when this happens. I am in a webpage that has a lot of different frames however. I would upgrade to the full version, if it didn't randomly capitalize words, even without a pause in speech - it does it whenever it wants. I go back and correct said words, and the software should learn when I correct words, that I want it to go the same way next time. (More intuitive.)

A press and hold button to speak feature would make it perfect. Other than that, it's excellent.

I tried to implement dictation here, but it didn't work. So here is one of the major deficiencies of this add-on. It works not where a user would like it to, like Dragon NS or Windows SR, but only where Google wants you to use it -- in Google mail. After only few sentences I realized that the trial version at least cannot be customized, so I got capital letters in the middle of sentences wherever I paused. I wholeheartedly support this endeavor, which will not leave the field to one company only (Microsoft has given up on its SR), but the quality of the UI and SR itself should be at least competitive. I will go on testing it to better understand what it can do.

It is a great program, but I have a steep learning curve to create custom commands. Update: Developer (Jeff) added the ability to switch languages by voice command. Excelente!!!!
