Uploading the file was okay, BUT I can't even edit this! WHAT even is this! Believe me, don't get it unless you're an expert because this is almost really bad.
Can't even open it until restarting my chromebook. Even then it didn't bother to open properly. I had it on my pc up until it was time to export, when I hit export it told me to wait while it renders, fine by me, up until it estimates 80 days and I didn't see that little thing there for 3 days.
OpenShot is a great video editor. This version is out of date and doesn't work well. I would love to have a solid online instance of OpenShot, this isn't it.

In the past, I've always wondered why the dev behind OpenShot was spending so much time, attempting to port his application to platforms other than Linux. Natively, I am running version 2.4.4 from an 'app image', which is an even-higher version, than what the Debian Multimedia Repositories offer under Debian 9 / Stretch. And on some occasions, the port has failed miserably, such as the port to Windows... What has now happened is, that the ambitious project is taking place, to host a variety of Linux applications in the form of Web-applications, available to Chrome OS. The resulting portal is actually named "Offidocs", and 'OpenShot Mobile' has become a part of that. This means that, much as other users have complained, the user needs to set up his Offidocs, File Manager with a password, before he or she can really begin using OpenShot. The way to do that is, actually to log out of the File Manager with the exit icon, and then to log back in, either to the User ID used before, or to another User ID that has no password set, but this time to set a password. The User IDs are disposable, so there is no option to change an existing password, other than, to empty the folders of the current User ID, and then just to create a new one. The user has the option of linking this Cloud app to his Google Drive. Not all the Offidocs apps can be linked to GDrive. But, because doing so will give the Offidocs servers full access, as long as that Offidocs account has not been secured with a password, this would be a brain-dead thing to do, security-wise. And even if they are not linked, the option still exists to upload or download files, using the Native File Manager of the Chromebook. It might just take some added amount of time. I think that ultimate limitations may stem, from the fact that computing resources are being requested from another entity's computer - Offidocs - but that potentially, the end-user is not paying for this service directly. In fact, a 15-second time-delay has been introduced, before the Web app actually launches, just to thwart possible spamming by hostile computers. AFAICT, the system seems to work well, given what it aims to do. But the OpenShot Mobile version is presently 'only' 1.4.3 . Well, while that's not as good as 2.4.4, it's still better than nothing. During my recent tests, I needed to remind myself how to do things with v1.4.3, that can be done better with version 2.4.4. But I have not yet gotten OpenShot Mobile to crash. Hint: All versions of OpenShot that I know are temperamental, in that if bad parameters are chosen to output a video to, the application will in fact crash. For that reason, always save your work, before generating a video to export to. Dirk

Useless. All it did was open a file manager. The editor wasn't even Openshot and what was there was unusable.

This one is horrible, i personally do not advise downloading a video editor from the chrome web store, I use https://panzoid.com/ it is free, and the video goes up to 10 for free on cloud render, devise render is free if you can wait a half hour to export a 10 sec vid....

I did not like this at all. It was actually not that bad in the beginning but when i tried to upload that video to youtube it said that it wont work so i really don't like this app if anyone is seeing the reviews and wants to try it i am going to say its not going to be professional like other editors it is going to be old school and you most likely wont like it.
I worked on a video for 2+ hours for a project that I had coming up. The video maker itself works just fine but I can't import it. It won't download with that my ENTIRE project will be deleted. I even tried converting it on a different website but the file it produces does not convert
Less than useless. Does nothing but wastes time. The least a video editing tool can do is to crop videoclips... This one can't even do that. And it's not the length, I tried to cut clips to as little as 10 seconds. After "Working on it" for 10 minutes it gives the message : "Video with error We could not create your video." Last update is in 2017, I think. Until they fix it, skip this one.

Works great on a real Linux. On ChromeOS, it's web-based and no idea how to upload files. Has possibilities, because all the other stuff seems to work. You can't make animated titles because you need to install Blender.

it worked for 2 seconds then broke
It looked great at the start but you are unable to import anything and it shows you a weird desktop file explorer that isn't connected to your files. Complete waste of my time.

It's so hard to use. You can't easily import files, which sucks a lot, and the layout is horrible and does not fit well on the page. I personally hate it.
Just terrible!!!!!!!!! I have used this app under LINUX but I tried for an hour and couldn't get my video uploaded to the app. Waste of time!

you have to open another page to import files, than go to the editor (The layout is $#@!) than import the files again, it's very laggy and hard to use, half way through making a video (already long and PLANNED to go on youtube)the thing reloaded itself and gave me a guakamoll 0.9.9 login screen for no reason, then when i opened it again everything was GONE and so were all of the files i imported! Overall, DON'T DOWNLOAD THIS APP!

The whole system is dis-organized and unhelpful. you can't download files straight from your computer, and have to go through the most arduous processes to get anything done. by the time i finished, i had a headache. then it turned out that i can not edit my video, it kicked me out, and i lost it. i have the .oog file, but cannot upload it. also, it limits the size on the files you can upload. not cool.
This is an old standard on Linux - probably not the best option for Windows and Chromebook users, but it's much easier than professional video editors like Sony's and others.
So impossible to figure out that I assume that it doesnt actually work.
not so easy to figure out .. more so engineer minded but if you watch the video tutorial you'll get it.
